Mexican death grind band BRUJERIA put the world of cartels and ritualistic murder on wax with a brutal power equivalent to when Compton arrived in pop culture via NWA. On September 15th, the band will unleash their fifth full-length album Esto Es Brujeria onto the world via Nuclear Blast Records.

‘Bruja Encabronada’ is the second single to be released from the upcoming album. Watch the music video which includes live footage taken by Roel Verscheure (GRIMM Gent) and Emerik Siimessalmi.

Esto Es Brujeria was recorded worldwide at the following studios: Dog Run Studio in Riverside, CA; Total Annihilation Studios in East Los Angeles, CA; Robanna’s in Birmingham, UK; and Audiocustom in Santiago, Chile. Production of the record was handled by the band while engineering was a joint effort between Eddie Casillas, Eddie Rivas, and Miguel Seco. The mixing and mastering of the album was completed by Seba Puente who was also a part of the engineering team. The album artwork was created by Gary Ronaldson. Esto Es Brujeria saw the return of their metal mascot Coco Loco who is emblazoned on the ferocious cover.

CYHRA Release Third Album “The Vertigo Trigger” + Music Video for New Single ‘Ashlight’

Four years after their last studio album No Halos in Hell, CYHRA proudly present their new album The Vertigo Trigger. The Swedes’ third full-length has been released today, and it reflects exactly what the melodic metal band stands for: ear-splitting riffs, catchy choruses and plenty of melodies that make the band truly stand out.

The band based around singer Jake E (ex-AMARANTHE) and guitarists Jesper Strömblad (THE HALO EFFECT/ex-IN FLAMES) Euge Valovirta (ex-SHINING), drummer Alex Landenburg (KAMELOT), and guitarist Marcus Sunesson(ex-THE CROWN / ex-ENGLE) demonstrate that they haven’t slowed down. With The Vertigo Trigger, CYHRA has not only further developed their distinctive sound, but also proven how diverse they are. The best example for this is the latest single ‘Ashlight‘, which combines hard-hitting elements with a gentle attitude. And if that wasn’t enough, the Swedes also deliver a new music video for the latest single to celebrate the album release.

Vocalist Jake E comments:
“It feels amazing to FINALLY have new music to release again! We put a lot of effort into finding out what the future of Cyhra’s music was to be and I must say I am overwhelmed with the result. Both with the album and also the songwriting!. I think that we have made a fantastic follow-up to both of our first two albums, but also at the same time we’ve managed to modernized the songwriting. I can assure you that no Cyhra fan will be disappointed!”

Drummer Alex Landenburg adds:
“To me, this is a perfect successor to our first two records. It has all the Cyhra trademarks, but it’s a bit more Rock’n’Roll, more raw, in the way we recorded it. And on top of that, Euge’s great mix and Jacob Hansen’s mastering are a wicked combination!”

Guitarist Euge Valovirta about the new song:
“This is the first album we produced by ourselves and it turned out to be just like I heard it in my head before we even started to record it. We still wanted to have (long time producer) Jacob Hansen’s input on it so he did the mastering and I did the mixing. I’m very proud of it. And us. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.”

Marcus Sunesson adds:
“It’s the first of the three Cyhra albums that I played guitar on and also contributed to the songwriting. It was a fun and very creative process, but also challenging since we wanted to break new ground in order to make the best Cyhra album possible. I am so happy and proud of this beast of an album! This time we took a deep breath and dove down to explore a slightly darker, more progressive and modern side of ourselves. Yet still sounding like the Cyhra you all know and love. This album will definitely turn some heads. You will love it!”

Recorded in the summer/autumn of 2022, The Vertigo Trigger is the band’s darkest album to date. The album was entirely self-produced and mixed by guitarist Euge Valovirta, whilst the mastering was handled by long-term producer Jacob Hansen. This new album offers fans the classic CYHRA sound, full of the band’s trademarks, but fresh and refined. The Swedes have modernised their song writing meaning that no CYHRA fan will be disappointed, making The Vertigo Trigger a more than worthy successor to their first two albums.

And although guitarist Jesper Strömblad isn’t a part of CYHRA‘s live shows currently, he was deeply involved in the writing and recording process of the album. Therefore, the band can hardly wait for his return as soon as he is ready again.

Born from the pandemic, this unique and unexpected collaboration KILLINGTON PIT features the theatrical Granny 4 Barrel singer Terry LeRoi, Alice Cooper bassist Chuck Garric, and a pair of Evanescence members – guitarist Troy Mclawhorn and drummer Will Hunt. To mark the new band’s formation, a cover of the 1983 Accept classic, “Balls to the Wall,” has been released as their debut single.

“From the moment we decided to record this track, it was pure magic,” recalls LeRoi. “Chuck, Will, and Troy went back-and-forth with digital files until we had the music dialed in. I’ve always been inspired by Udo‘s voice and singing style so I did my best to channel that while adding my own flair stylistically.” Terry continues, “Our manager Matt Holmes produced the vocals with me in New York and when we put it all together, we realized we had something pretty special going on. It was and is an honor to record music with these incredible musicians! We’re so stoked with the way that this legendary track came out!”

“I grew up listening and learning from bands like Accept when I was younger and just starting to play the guitar,” adds McLawhorn. “‘Balls to the Wall’ seemed like the right choice because of its popularity and badassness! I really wanted to do the guitars justice so I stick closely to the original parts with a little bit of my flavor on them as well.”

“It was so badass and fun to do this cover of ‘Balls to the Wall’ with the guys,” says Hunt. “I’m proud to call all of them friends. Each of them are musicians and performers that I love and respect. I saw Accept open for Ozzy on his ‘Bark at the Moon’ tour in 1984. It was their first tour of the US and ‘Balls’ was just starting to make noise over here. They absolutely blew me away that night! So cool to record this cover!”

Also, according to LeRoi, a special guest contributed backing vocals. “When it came time to record the choruses, it was myself, Matt Holmes, and Matt Pinfield in the studio. Pinfield happened to be in town and he said he was down to take a stab at the gang vocals with us. Fortunately, we all have good pitch (laughs). It all happened pretty organically and turned out amazing. I wouldn’t change a thing about it!”

“Balls to the Wall” is part of a larger body of classic metal/rock recordings Killington Pit will be releasing in the coming months. Over the last year, the band stockpiled epic cover versions of tracks and videos from Rainbow, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and more. The chemistry between the foursome can be heard all throughout this impressive body of work.

“It’s an honor to be in the same room with these guys.” explains Garric, “Musicians that I respect and musicians with the spirit of rock n’ roll running through their veins.”

LeRoi: “Killington Pit is modern rock/metal with roots in classic rock but we’re really not trying to limit where this can go. There are so many collective influences between the four of us, I think sonically it’s going to evolve naturally. But rest assured the foundation of the sound will always be heavy. LeRoi adds “In addition to the cover album project, we are at the beginning stages of original music as well. We’re really looking forward to sharing the growing sound and image of Killington Pit!”

THE DEAD DAISIES Deliver “Best Of” Album on Resurrected Tour

THE DEAD DAISIES are proud to release their “BEST OF” Album laden with eighteen tracks from six of the bands’ studio albums along with two previously unreleased songs. It is a marker in the bands’ ten-year career which includes some of the collectives’ favourites plus others that have become a staple part of every Daisies Touring Set List. The package also contains a collection of imagery from The Daisies vault, revisiting the line-ups, recording studios and some historic live performances.

The “BEST OF” Album release coincides with the Resurrected US & Canadian Tour. John Corabi is feeling great, happy to be back at the helm and excited to kick off the tour on August 22nd in Pennsylvania then it’s up north across Canada and down the West Coast closing out the dates in Hollywood CA.

Instrumental Prog quartet PSYGNOSIS are proud to announce their brand new album “Mercury”, which will be released on September 15, 2023 via Season of Mist! This beautiful album reveals a whole different approach on extreme metal with different elements, of which one stands out the most: the band is forgoing a traditional vocalist and instead incorporate classical dearest instrument – the cello, adding a haunting and melodic element to their atmospheric extreme metal sound.

In celebration, the band are now releasing the second new track ‘Eclipse’, which comes in the form of a new music video.

PSYGNOSIS is a project started in 2009 by Rémi Vanhove, who was eager to gather all of his musical influences into one entity. A first solo EP, “Phrases”, was released in June 2009 and lays the foundations of PSYGNOSIS’ music: an atmospheric extreme Metal with hints of electronic music. Rémi then surrounded himself with a second guitarist, a bassist and a singer, and continues to program the drums himself.

The first album “Anti-Sublime” was released in January 2012 and allowed the band to continue the artistic process started with “Phrases”. This release also marked the first encounters of the quartet with the public. After the EP “Sublimation” in 2013, Psygnosis came out with a second album in 2014. “Human Be[ing]” shows that the band has gained in maturity, through better digested influences and compositions whose structures become more complex.

The year 2015 marks an important change for PSYGNOSIS: The band made the radical choice to become instrumental by recruiting Raphaël Verguin as a cellist. A first EP “AAliens” followed, followed up by the full length “Neptune” in 2017, an ambitious opus of one hour and seventeen minutes inviting the listeners to travel to the ends of the Solar System.

Despite the instrumental aspect, PSYGNOSIS continues to assert its first intention: that of a Metal mixing nervous riffs, blast beats and atmospheric ambiences. The meeting of Rémi and Raphaël with the guitarist Elise Masliah and the drummer Thomas Crémier enables the quartet to stabilize its formation and to defend on stage PSYGNOSIS’ intense and emotional music.
