Following the release of their latest, eleventh studio album, “Reader Of The Runes – Rapture” (released in April 2023 on AFM Records, order HERE!), heavy metal, pagan, folk and melodic death metal fusionists Elvenking have suprised fans with a stunning cover version of VENOM‘s “Prime Evil“! But, this isn’t just another cover, the Elvenking version also features guest appearances of former VENOM singer and bassist Tony Dolan, and Snowy Shaw (ex-Mercyful Fate, ex-King Diamond)!

As ELVENKING revealed, “it is a special song in many ways, starting from the fact that it is a love letter to a band and to a specific moment in time when metal was in fact imprinting our lives indefinitely. The second special aspect of this recording is the lineup. It is a surprise and a metal-dream come true for us since it sees Tony Dolan “Demolition Man” on vocals + bass (he was the original singer and bass player of Venom in the era in which this album was released and now he is still kicking with Venom Inc.), Snowy Shaw (ex-Mercyful Fate, ex-King Diamond, ex-Memento Mori, etc.) on drums, Damna on vocals + rhythm guitars, Aydan on solo guitar + keyobards and Lethien on the violin.” 

Ever since their inception in 1997, Elvenking mastered their way to their own identity with courage and bravado, leaving behind the shackles of genres step by step before they truly broke out with their 2014 monument “The Pagan Manifesto”. Elvenking have been defying all genres, now feeling quite at home in their very own enchanted realm. With “Rapture”, the Italian collective has unleashed part two of their monumental Reader Of The Runes trilogy, and an epic metal quest of woe and despair, wrought with mysterious figures, dark magic and an altogether mesmerizing autumnal flair reminiscent of a forest glade during an Indian Summer. Renowned former recording artist for Down Boys Records, ANDRZEJ CITOWICZ, unveils his latest musical endeavor under the moniker of CITOVITZ AND THE FIREFLIES OF FEBRUARY. With his guitar instrumental power ballad “Anemoia”, Citowicz takes listeners on a nostalgic journey back to the late 80s, reminiscent of the iconic styles of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and the legendary songwriter Desmond Child.

Swedish premium rock outfit DEAD LORD is happy to announce that their highly acclaimed debut album “Goodbye Repentance” is available as a nice 10th anniversary edition from today on!  

DEAD LORD’s vocalist/guitarist Hakim Krim checked in with the following comment:

  “So a decade went by… And in all cheesyness, it does feel like it was yesterday. When we, a band only a few months old, flew down to Dublin to make the rock go. 10 days of hard rocking and way too many 5-euro-bloody-mary’s later, our debut album was finished. Thinking back on it now, it’s amazing to think of how that album led us down a path of tons of great things. All the great people we got to meet. All the cool (and weird) places we got to play. SCOTT STAPP Reveals New Rock Anthem ‘Black Butterfly’ with Lyric Video

Grammy winning, platinum-certified solo artist, and the voice of Creed, SCOTT STAPP, has released “Black Butterfly,” the third single from his upcoming solo album, Higher Power. The album will be available everywhere on March 15, 2024 via Napalm Records and can be pre-ordered now HERE. 

Transcending defeats to emerge reborn, “Black Butterfly” is a grooving stunner with undeniable swagger that chronicles transformative growth. Over the track’s unshakable chorus, charging riffs and soaring leads, Stapp flaunts hauntingly beautiful vocals in a motivational plea to push through the process of personal metamorphosis.

“Growth is a challenging process. I often write aspirational lyrics about getting to that ‘next level’ – knowing what you’re capable of and rejecting the idea that you’re defined by your mistakes. Thus far, Stapp has revealed his current radio single and hard-hitting title track, “Higher Power,” as well as mid-tempo anthem “What I Deserve,” which features the blistering yet delicate guitar work of Yiannis Papadopoulos. When “Higher Power” debuted in August, Loudwire predicted that Stapp is “primed for a big decade, sounding just as powerful as he did at half his age with a sense of newfound heaviness resting beneath his iconic voice.” In early October, the release of “What I Deserve” arrived as Guitar World touted its “blistering Whammy’d runs and some furious alternate-picked chromatic flourishes that herald the arrival of Stapp’s heaviest solo material yet.” 

Traversing themes of loss, frustration, betrayal and near defeat, Stapp’s fourth solo album will feature stand-out performances by hard rock queen Dorothy on a deeply raw duet, while Papadopoulos’ guitar leads and solos are such invaluable contributions that he is credited as a featured artist on three tracks. There is also a co-writing appearance by multi-Grammy Award winning songwriter and musician Steve McEwan on Higher Power, which was produced by Marti Frederiksen and Scott Stevens.

Femme sleaze rockers COBRA SPELL can’t get enough!
