Japan’s MAJUSTICE Release Video for ‘Ancestral Recall’

MAJUSTICE have released a video for “Ancestral Recall”, the title track from their upcoming debut album. It can be viewed below.

This song features the soaring vocals of Iuri Sanson (Eternity’s End) and shredding fretboard pyrotechnics of guitarists Jien Takahashi and Kelly Simonz.

Ancestral Recall will be released by Marquee/Avalon in Japan on March 22, 2023, and worldwide on March 24 via FC Metal. Ancestral Recall has a special guest performance from legendary vocalist Mike Vescera (ex-LOUDNESS/ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) who delivers incendiary lead vocals on two songs, “Now Your Turn” and ”Infinite Visions”. The video for “Now Your Turn” can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/L9d2XiqCZoQ

And “Temple of the Divided World” features the leather-lunged vocals of Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) in a duet with Iuri. The video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/Q-jH66rp_l0

MAJUSTICE is a Japan-based multinational power metal band formed in 2021 by guitarist Jien Takahashi (STORMHEART), who was heavily influenced by Timo Tolkki’s composition skills (during the “classic” STRATOVARIUS period), as well as the guitar wizardry of Marty Friedman and Yngwie Malmsteen.

MAJUSTICE features the powerful vocals of Iuri Sanson (ETERNITY’S END), the genius of keyboardist Vitalij Kuprij (RING OF FIRE), and the fretboard pyrotechnics of guitarist Kelly Simonz (KELLY SIMONZ’s BLIND FAITH). The lineup is rounded out by bassist Kaz Nakamura and drummer Yosuke Ibuki.

The band’s debut album is titled Ancestral Recall, and features the tracks “Ancestral Recall”, “Tears Of The Sky”, and ”Temple Of The Divided World”. In addition, 4 songs written by Timo Tolkki appear on the album: “Sonata Black”, “Dangerous”, “Infinite Visions”, and “You Rock My World”; originally slated to appear on an album by Timo’s now-defunct band INFINITE VISIONS, these songs were acquired by MAJUSTICE and given new life.

IMPERIAL TIDE Release New Single & Video ‘Off The Leash’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 17, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: IMPERIAL TIDE. Leave a comment

L.A and Las Vegas-based hardcore outfit IMPERIAL TIDE — Landon Hill, vocals; William Barber, guitar; Keene Dadian, guitar; Tanner Galambas, bass; and Russel Schoenbeck, drums — have shared the video for their crackling-with-intensity new single “Off the Leash.” Watch it here.

The video is meant to grab your attention — and keep it — minus any BS or artifice.

“We wanted to make a music video that the audience could immediately identify who we were as a band,” says Hill about the visual. “No glitz or glamour — just raw, black and white, and in your face. We made the point to film this video entirely by ourselves, with no filter between us and the fans.”

Regarding the deeper meaning behind the song, Hill continues, “‘Off the Leash’ is about cutting off those around you with disingenuous motives. We build a support system through life and sometimes those we surround ourselves with don’t have the drive or intentions to match. The lyric ‘All Bark, No Bite’ explains how some people just want to talk about what they want…but we’re here to take action ‘with nothing left to lose.'”

“Off the Leash” follows last year’s “Slip.” Watch the video here.

An unholy union of crunchy riffs, booming bass, and breakdowns, Imperial Tide champion an independent mindset in all aspects of their music. The group has built itself from the ground up. They screen-print their moniker on their own t-shirts, hang it on the banisters they build from scratch, and conceptualize it in visual metaphors they film themselves.

Comprised of five childhood friends with a range of experience in the music industry — musical production degrees, experience with web design and animation, hands-on merchandise production, and more — Imperial Tide have mined the depths of emotional turmoil and existential crisis in order to create music that challenges convention and alters perceptions, screaming in defiance at any and all who would try to oppose their reign. Early live appearances have included Rockville 2021 and the SO WHAT? Music Festival, as they gear up to take the US by storm in 2023.

ELDER Announce European Tour Dates, with Support from SLOMOSA + STEAK

Following their latest, much-acclaimed studio album, Innate Passage, prog- and psych rock masters, Elder, have announced an extensive European tour, with support from up-and-coming, Norwegian desert rockers Slomosa and UK’s finest Steak on selected dates!

Innate Passage
, the band’s sixth full-length, was released on November 25, 2022 via Stickman Records in Europe HERE and in North America via Armageddon Shop at THIS LOCATION!
It finds the mostly-Berlin-based band in the post-pandemic era as veterans at the forefront of a league of progressive and heavy groups working in large part under their influence; a stately presence as reliably forward-thinking as they are unpredictable in sound. They are among the most important acts of their mostly-still-emerging generation. Genuine leaders in style and expressive intention. Innate Passage is further proof why.

While The Guardian said “…its masterful, slow-building might recalling forebears and fellow-travellers Mastodon and Cave In. Throughout Innate Passage, Elder prove themselves those bands’ equals“, Chicago Reader praised “Innate Passage as a milestone from musicians who’ve proved themselves unafraid of reinvention.” Powerplay Magazine in the UK is convinced “This could well be the band’s masterpiece“, Metal Injection agrees that “These guys know exactly how and when to take their songs to the next level, and they capitalize every time.”, while JJ of The Obelisk says “To call it one of 2022’s best albums is underselling it.”

Lauded by international music critics and fans alike, Innate Passage is a culmination of everything ELDER has done before, and after more than 15 years, they’re still pushing forward to places where neither they nor anyone they’ve influenced have yet gone. In support of Innate Passage, the band is not only gearing up for a run with live dates in Mexico, in North America and Canada with Ruby The Hatchet and Howling Giant, but they will also hit the road for an extensive European tour in 2023! Guitarist/vocalist Nick DiSalvo comments:

“After an incredibly busy year back to touring in 2022, we don’t plan on taking much time off to catch our breath in 2023. We’re looking forward to presenting our latest album Innate Passage live to audiences in as much of the world as we can reach! It’s especially exciting to be joined by another awesome crew of support bands this year – in North America Ruby The Hatchet and Howling Giant, in Europe Slomosa and Steak – not to mention the crazy festival bills we’re taking part in this summer. We’re busy preparing now for the year, so get a ticket if you want to see what we’ve been cooking up!”

Metalcore Act ATENA Release Emotional Ballad + Music Video ‘Oh My’

Photo: Anine Desire

ATENA is known for exploring dark and emotional themes in their music, typically accompanied by intense riffs, screaming vocals, and heavy breakdowns. However, their brand new track takes a departure from their usual style, and ATENA slows things down and delivers a stunningly emotive ballad titled ‘Oh My’.”

Listen to the single here: https://orcd.co/atenaohmy

The band states:
“The intention behind the song was to create an emotional soundtrack that captures the sensation of life flashing before your eyes, and we actually drew inspiration from movie trailers. We love the irony in how trailers often end up being better than the movies themselves while also revealing the entire plot. The music tho is usually very good, and we wanted to capture some of that in this new track”

ATENA have pushed through to become one of the most noteworthy and experimental metalcore acts from Norway, proving that there’s more than black metal that roams in the country. Merging elements from classic metalcore with more urban soundscape, they address issues new generations face today. The new track is mixed and mastered by Swedish producer Henrik Udd (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, Imminence).

ABOUT:

Over the last years and with 4 albums under their belt, ATENA have proven to be the fore fronters of Norwegian metalcore with their relentless mix of heavy guitars, electronic samples and hip-hop influences.

With a deep inspiration from classical composers, hip hop and love for heavy music the band entwine these elements together with lyrics of darker episodes that occur through life. ATENA’s latest, critically acclaimed album “Drowning Regret & Lungs Filled with Water” earned them international praise.
According to Metal Hammer UK, “Atena’s willingness to push boundaries needs to be applauded”, while one of Norway’s biggest newspapers Dagbladet praised them for being “something semi-exotic in the Norwegian metal flora.”

ATENA are:
Vebjørn Iversen – Guitar
Jakob Skogli – Vocals
Ulrik Linstad – Bass
Fredrik Kåsin – Drums
