BAD BONES Drop New Video ‘Wanderers & Saints’

Time to kickstart your motorcycle and take a ride with Bad Bones and their next music video for the single “Wanderers & Saints” in support of their sixth album “Hasta El Final!” due out March 17th, 2023 via Rockshots Records.

“Free, without rules, we abandon this society, to live on the margins, aware of the things we will miss, but proud of the choices made, an intro reminiscent of The Police, a song that flies away fast, light and powerful, perhaps the most “modern” song that Bad Bones have ever written.” adds the band.

Influenced by NWOBHM to the LA street rock scene, Bad Bones was formed in 2007. The band has made a name for themselves with tours across Europe along with making the move from Italy to LA in 2009 to make a foothold in the USA until returning to their home country in 2010. Over the years, the band has consistently toured the USA and Europe with appearances at events such as the Hollywood Rock Convention, Italian Gods of Metal, and Metalitalia Festival along with supporting bands like Steel Panther, Hardcore Superstar, Crucified Barbara, Entombed, Gotthard, Crazy Lixx, Strana Officina and more.

True Metal Magazine named “Bad Bones” the Best Hard Rock band of the year for 2010 along with Metal Hammer Italy awarding “Demolition Derby” the Best Album of The Year for 2016.

A musical amalgamation of blues, punk, classic rock, and heavy metal, Bad Bones‘ latest offering “Hasta El Final!” is a powerful record, that shakes your bones and must be listened to in one go, in its entirety, just like taking a shot of whiskey, throw it down and then enjoy it while it warms your guts.

“The sound of the band has changed since the beginning, the first album “Small-town Brawlers” was very raw, it sounded almost punk in some ways, in 2012 when Max Malmerenda joined the band, who has an amazing and very melodic voice, a process had begun that led us to write albums more on the 80s hard rock side like “Demolition Derby” in 2016, today, with the return of Mekk we have found a more powerful sound and we have several songs that we could define as heavy metal. We want Hasta El Final! to hit you like a punch in the face, we had this in mind, make it compact and powerful, we didn’t use samples, nor quantized/triggered fake drums, everything was played live, even the overdubs were kept to a minimum, and we wanted to keep the fierce spirit of our first albums.” says the band.

Making uncompromising rock that is meant to be loud in volume and make ya sweat in the pit, Bad Bones give listeners classic old-school rock n’ roll fun. Their lyrics reflect the things they see and hear, from memories, and life experiences, but also from movies or places they’ve been, there have many sources of inspiration that fans can clearly relate to.

Indian DIRGE Herald Return with Doom Laden Album

Since their formation in 2014, DIRGE have become one of Mumbai’s most talked-about post-metal bands.

Regularly showcasing their unique blend of doom rock, metal and psychedelic sludge across the Indian underground, Dirge has toured with contemporaries such as Primitiv; Shepherd, Bevar Sea and Djinn & Miskatonic, opened for world-beating international acts, and performed at festivals across India, including Bangalore Open Air and Control Alt Delete in Mumbai.

Using their time post-pandemic to write and record a follow-up to 2018’s Ah Puch, the band’s forthcoming self-titled album – scheduled for release in early 2023 on Immersive Sounds – finds the quintet taking a sonic journey of discovery. Offering up a truly devastating and personal statement, particularly when compared to the wide-sweeping vistas of Mayan myths and South American jungles of their debut, Dirge looks inward while simultaneously reflecting our world at large.

“The album is an attempt to evoke emotions that lie at the core of discomfort,” explains bassist Harshad Bhagwat. “The soundscapes have been designed to suit the ethos of each song and the lyrics are inspired from real life experiences of anger, guilt, sorrow, and fear. We want to take the listener on a journey of self-actualisation through this album, as our aim is to create a sense of catharsis through the experience.”

Clocking in at just over forty minutes mins, Dirge will consist of four explosive tracks – the first of which you can hear right now in ‘Condemned’ – that showcase just how truly special these guys are. Produced by the band and long-time associate Apurv Agrawal (Pacifist, Cowboy & Sailor Man, Honey’s Dead) who also added synths to the album, it has been mixed by Sanford Parker (YOB, Pelican, Eyehategod) and mastered by Brad Boatright of Audiosiege (Sleep, Neurosis).

Genre-Defying Duo LETHE Sign with Dark Essence Records, New Album Coming

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 10, 2023
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LETHE. Leave a comment

You can try and define LETHE and their music, but the probability that you will fall wide of the mark is pretty much guaranteed, because this duo don’t care about genre expectations or boundaries.  What they do care about, deeply, is that there should be no rules, no expectations and no compromises.

Formed at the end of 2012 by Tor-Helge Skei (MANES, MANII etc.) and Anna Murphy (CELLAR DARLING, ex-ELUVEITIE), LETHE is a “home” for Anna and Tor-Helge’s musical and artistic experiments,  which have developed into something personal and unique, and quite “different”.

Both lyrically and conceptually LETHE is, according to the band:

Like a journey through the ‘back alleys of the human mind/psyche’, through dreams and nightmares, paranoia, mental breakdown, inner darkness.. No religion, fantasy, or pretend play.. Real life, real experiences, real horror.

In an attempt to categorise LETHE’s heady brew of metal / triphop / electronic / pop / experimental sounds,  terms such as “genre-bending”, “style-bastardization”, “eclectic”, and even “just plain weird”  have been bandied around. But none of these can encompass what the duo, along with a long list of external contributors, have produced on  their first two full-length albums:  2014’s “When Dreams Become Nightmares” and 2017’s “The First Corpse on the Moon”.

What LETHE’s third full-length album will produce will become clear later this year when it is set to be released on Dark Essence Records.  Delayed due to the pandemic, the band are currently mixing,  mastering and putting the finishing touches on the album,  and all anyone will say about it is that fans should  “Expect the unexpected”

More information about LETHE can be found on the band’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LetheProject or on their website at https://torhelgeskei.com/lethe/

A video for the LETHE’s 2020 single “Gamma”  can be seen below.

FROZEN CROWN Release New Album “Call of the North”

FROZEN CROWN have released their new album “Call of the North”, out now via Scarlet Records.

‘Call of the North’ is the fourth Frozen Crown album, consolidating their sound while bringing at the same time unseen features on the table (like acoustic ballads and epic choirs), where Power Metal meets old-school Speed and classic Heavy Metal in a modern fashion, with a bombastic production highlighting opulent orchestrations and harmonies.

The Italian band comes back stronger than ever, with the most thoughtful yet the catchiest of their works, bringing along memorable refrains, heavy downtuned guitar riffs and intricate symphonic parts, tied together by a tense and epic battlefield atmosphere.

Being Frozen Crown’s most mature album, ‘Call of the North’ is the ideal soundtrack to a long journey in a frozen, forgotten land, through battle chants and war hymns, and defines the sound pushing all their trademark elements to a new level of complexity, without forgetting the easy to remember hooks the fans are used to.

  • artwork by the band’s leader and songwriter Federico Mondelli (Be The Wolf, Volturian, Nocturna)
  • aesthetically inspired by TV series like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Vikings’
  • licensed in Japan by Marquee/Avalon
