Italian metallers INVERNO have premiered the new single “Martyrs”. Watch the official video HERE.
INVERNO are a new Italian metal band whose line-up comprises Diego Cavallotti (Lacuna Coil), Danilo Arisi (Avelion), Daniele Salomone (ex D With Us), Nicola Pedrali (Genus Ordinis Dei) and Simone Orizio (ex A Hero Named Coward).
“Martyrs” is the fourth single released by INVERNO: a song that once again refines the band’s formula with edgy riffs, abundant and vitalizing tempo changes, growling vocals and catchy yet sharp choruses.
The lyrics, music and video further develop the concept of “Hollow”, “Lands” and “Roots”, the three singles preceding “Martyrs”. Inner conflict is still the main theme, as we’re often poor arbiters of our own emotions and desires.
Watch for more details on other upcoming INVERNO activities to be posted shortly.

About Metal Blade Records: Founded upon owner Brian Slagel‘s enduring drive to find great bands and get their music out to as many people as possible, since 1982 Metal Blade has brought wave after wave of powerful, innovative, and often genre-defining music to the ever-hungry metal masses. It is this ethos that has seen Metal Blade build up a stunning and diverse catalogue, weather the various storms facing any independent label, and in an age of declining record sales boast the most successful years of its existence as it celebrates its fourth decade.
Metal Blade Records launched Metallica, Slayer, Armored Saint, Fates Warning, GWAR, Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, and dozens more genre giants, shaping four decades and counting of hard rock, metal, and extreme music culture. Brian Slagel worked as a record store clerk when he founded Metal Blade in 1982, reserving a spot for a young Lars Ulrich on his Metal Massacre compilation series. Metal Blade grew from humble beginnings in Los Angeles to become an international powerhouse, selling millions of albums while remaining fiercely independent. In 2017, Slayer‘s Kerry King inducted the label into the Hall of Heavy Metal History. Slagel‘s For the Sake of Heaviness: The History of Metal Blade Records arrived the same year.

Israeli Rock Duo CADENCE’s first international album features four songs of diverse styles and musical direction, inspired by the history of the Duo’s origins. Meeting at Kindergarten at age five, and starting their first band together at age ten, Ran Zilca and Amir Shwartz proceeded to form the rock band “Inch”, that toured the Tel Aviv clubs and continued to record and perform locally in the late 1980s. Fast forward 30 years of career and family, they reunited as Cadence, working with iconic Israeli producer Gil Smetana, releasing a debut album in 2019.
While inspired by the sights and sounds impressed in the minds of two 1970s Israeli kids, The lyrics of the songs of The Big Wheel are a reflection of the personal journeys of the two artists, today an AI researcher and a real estate engineer/entrepreneur, and both family men. Musically, the styles vary from alternative/electronic rock to old-school ballads, with a recognizable influence of modern European prog metal.
Tangier : “Tangier” is set in the Strait of Gibraltar, serving as a metaphor for lovers who almost touch but are an ocean apart. One’s heaven and the other one’s hell. The smooth phaser guitars mix with brass guitar-synth and airy vocals to form a marine atmosphere where “metal ships float in the water” and “rays of sun play with the waves that sparkle back”.
Somewhere In This World: “Somewhere In This World” is a song of gratitude. Modern life is entrenched in the comfort of a daily routines. But in the background of one’s usual daily route, there is the unease from TV, radio, and social media, that constantly broadcast catastrophes, conflicts, and human pain. This song is about the awareness of human suffering, but also the gratitude that on most days life is pain-free.
Headphones An aging rocker is funny business: “Headphones” is about the dissonance between the mundane daily life of a family man, and the imaginary world that exists in his mind as soon as he puts the headphones on and the guitars start riffing inside his head. You Break ups are ever easy, but the worst kind are those that linger on while two lovers drift apart.
“You”: is about a lover who is fading away and disappearing gradually. Written and produced with subtlety, the almost-identical chords blend with the vocals and reverberated guitars to create a thin cloud of sadness.
