Artist, Fashion Designer and Musician Chloe Trujillo is a multi-faceted wonder and she has been teaming up with Mark Dalbeth (Rav Medic) from the rock act BELLUSIRA. The duo are set to release their debut ep HEAVY PEACE through Golden Robot Records digitally August 19.

The EP has been preceded by 3 stunning singles ‘MANA,’  ‘A LADDER TO THE SUN,’ and ‘THE HEAVIEST SOUND IS SILENCE.’

Making our way through life, we get tested by various obstacles and internal emotions. A big part of surviving the day to day, is the ability to diversify yourself and be able to adapt. The debut EP HEAVY PEACE by Chloe Trujillo & Rav Medic, does exactly that.

It takes you on a journey of emotions, both lyrically and musically. Moments of anger, frustration and happiness are spaced out throughout the record.

By taking pieces of their own influences, they have been able to mold them into their own sound and feel.

ABOUT CHLOE TRUJILLO ⚡️RAV MEDIC

Born in Paris France, ChloeTrujillo has immersed herself in the art/music world from a young age. Her music is infused with anything from rap, metal, gypsy & blues. She first got her Visa through performing in NYC cabarets & musical theatre. From there, she was invited to LA by Gail Zappa to record the Frank Zappa cover ‘The Torture Never Stops.’ Chloe is also wife of Robert Trujillo from Metallica/Suicidal Tendencies.

Mark Dalbeth (Rav Medic), who is originally from New Zealand, made the move to Australia and started rock outfit Bellusira, who went on to release two notable albums and move to America briefly under management from Will Hunt (Evanescence). The band toured the USA a few times and had Koichi Fukuda from Static-X take over guitar duties. Once that project came to an end, Mark decided to stay in America and continue his musical pursuit.
Both parties met in early 2021 when asked to be a part of the Global Green Charity Event held at the Troubadour in LA.

After connecting online and having a mutual respect for each other’s music, Trujillo and Dalbeth suggested the idea of doing a collaboration. The track ‘Lightning Strikes Twice’ was the outstanding result. The feedback from the single was strong and they both enjoyed working together so much, that they decided to continue to work together under the banner Chloe Trujillo & Rav Medic.

DEREK SHERINIAN Shares New Single ‘Aurora Australis’, New Album Out Now

World acclaimed keyboardist DEREK SHERINIAN, (Sons of Apollo, Black Country Communion), one of the most significant keyboard players of the modern era, recently released his latest album, ‘Vortex’, on InsideOutMusic. The album finds Sherinian again collaborating with legendary drummer Simon Phillips, who once again co-wrote and co-produced the album, as well as Tony ‘The Fretless Monster’ Franklin, on bass.

Now, Derek is pleased to share the 11+ minute complex, sprawling closer “Aurora Australis” featuring Bumblefoot on guitar.

Derek had this to say about the track: “Simon and I cover a lot of musical ground on this track. Bumblefoot sounds amazing on guitar as usual.”

Check out the first single “The Vortex” here: https://youtu.be/3rBjzSoOuVA
Check out the video for “The Scorpion” here: https://youtu.be/UKHK-G6UDP4

Tracklisting:

1 The Vortex feat. Steve Stevens
2 Fire Horse feat. Nuno Bettencourt
3 Scorpion
4 Seven Seas feat. Steve Stevens
5 Key Lime Blues feat. Joe Bonamassa, Steve Lukather
6 Die Kobra feat. Michael Schenker, Zakk Wylde
7 Nomad’s Land feat. Mike Stern
8 Aurora Australis feat. Bumblefoot

The album is available here: https://dereksherinian.lnk.to/Vortex

The follow-up to 2020’s The Phoenix, Vortex includes eight tracks built on his signature chameleonic sound that blends rock with elements of funk, prog, and jazz, which he started writing even before The Phoenix was finished. “Vortex is a continuation of The Phoenix,” Sherinian states. “However, I feel the composition is stronger on the new album, and I would describe it as a modern day 70s style fusion record, but with newer heavier tonality.”

When it came to guitars, Sherinian recruited a who’s who of great players, some of whom he had worked with before – Steve Stevens, Joe Bonamassa, Steve Lukather, Zakk Wylde, Sons Of Apollo bandmate Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal – and a few new allies, in the form of Michael Schenker, Mike Stern and Nuno Bettencourt. “The choice of guitarist works itself out in the writing,” he explains. “Also, like in the case of Steve Stevens, we co-wrote the song together, so it was natural for him to play on it.” Of his new collaborators, he says of Bettencourt, who appears on the scratchy “Fire Horse”, “I have always been a fan of his playing, and I am glad that we finally got to record together. He has the Van Halen swing and swagger to his playing that I love. We were both born in 1966, the Chinese year of the Fire Horse.”

According to Sherinian, Schenker’s inclusion was a no-brainer. “Michael Schenker has been one of my heroes for many years. He asked me to play on his Immortal album, and in return, he agreed to play on “Die Kobra”. I wanted to write a great song inspired by my favorite Schenker tracks. Zakk Wylde added some great additional parts to the song, and Tony Franklin and Simon Phillips sound great, as usual.”

Keyboardist Derek Sherinian has more than made a name for himself. After all, MusicRadar.com deemed him “A true shredder, his virtuoso playing has seen him dubbed the keyboard-playing version of Eddie Van Halen,” in 2020. Moreover, in 2021 he was voted Greatest Keyboardist Of The 21st Century, and the eighth Greatest of All Time by the same site, and Prog Magazine saw him voted the ninth Greatest Keyboardist Ever. But then you don’t rack up a resumé such as his without some serious chops, having worked with the likes of Dream Theater, Black Country Communion, Billy Idol, Whitesnake – David Coverdale stating in 2020 “Derek plays like the son of Jon Lord”, – Kiss, current band Sons Of Apollo, and Alice Cooper – who in 1989 called him the “Caligula of keyboards”.

ANTI-CLONE Debut Chilling Music Video ‘Human’

UK masked metallers, ANTI-CLONE, have revealed a thought-provoking and disturbing new music video for their latest single, ‘Human’. The explosive song is the title track from the band’s forthcoming new EP, out 16th September, and is a welcome return which will cause sparks amongst the metal collective with the song’s stark warning about humanity in the digital age.

Directed by the band and Dead Pixels Photography, the new video demonstrates the abuse of power, and how tyrants use charisma and rhetoric to captivate and ensnare a willing audience. This is counterbalanced with the actions of a lone individual standing up and saying no, albeit through truly extreme means. The visuals echo the message of the song and are played out in the most dramatised version possible, conveying the warning signs we frequently see on our screens everyday.

Anti-Clone vocalist “Peter “CLΩNE” Moore said, “‘Human’ is an anthem rooted in the horror of what it means to be human. Its intention is to hold a mirror to humanity (or lack of) and explore just how far we’ve fallen in the sense that we fetishise war, and that we hold guns and gods above basic human rights, decency and life. Every time you turn on the TV, or read the news,  you are greeted by the same bleak reality be it the war in Ukraine, or the most recent school shootings in the United States. ‘Human’ is a case study into the psyche of the human race and how we can learn to be better.”

Written with cataclysmic recent world events in mind, Anti-Clone’s new EP’ Human’ is a step into the mindset of four people trying to contend with everyday life while the world appears to be burning around them. As a follow up to the group’s ‘The Root of Man’ debut album, ‘Human’ takes on a more melodic, nuanced sound that still promises as much aggression as its predecessor.

Recorded at Red City Recordings, Manchester and Safe Haven Studios, ‘Human’ was produced by David Radahd-Jones (Heaven’s Basement) and mastered by Grant Berry at Fader Mastering.

The EP will be released Friday 16th September 2022 via the band’s official web media channels.

PRE-ORDER THE HUMAN EP/LIMITED EDITION MERCHANDISE HERE.

Originally formed in 2011, Anti-Clone have come a long way since the Axe and Cleaver in Boston, UK. The nu-metal/ industrial juggernaut released their debut EP ‘Hands Sewn Together’ in 2014 to critical acclaim, garnering reviews in magazines such as Big Cheese and Terrorizer. Produced by Matt Hyde (Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head), his wealth of experience with some the world’s best known metal bands was invaluable in shaping fledgeling band’s sound. On the back of this release they went on a full European tour with Ragga metal titans Skindred, exciting audiences from France to Poland and everywhere in between.

Anti-Clone followed up 2014’s ‘Hands Sewn Together’ with 2016’s ‘The Root of Man’, again produced by Hyde. The general reception of the album was fantastic, with a 4K review from Kerrang! (as well as full page feature and video of the week) and a 7/10 review from Metal Hammer (as well as ‘HOT NEW BAND’), among many, many more. The success of this album saw Anti-Clone joining such acts as Mushroomhead, Hacktivist, Bleed From Within and Dope, as well as playing at the 2016 edition of Bloodstock festival, 2017’s inaugural HRH Metal, Amplified Festival and a headline slot at one of the stages at MacMillanfest. 2017 also saw the band embark on their debut headline, exciting audiences all over the UK.

Major lineup changes saw the band undergo a period of hibernation from 2018 onwards. However, Anti-Clone are very much back in the saddle now with 2022’s comeback release ‘Human’. Produced by David Radahd-Jones at RED Studios in Manchester, his attention to detail led to the honing and refining of what the band wanted to accomplish in this new phase of its existence. This release sees the band explore a new more melodic sound, while retaining the cutting edge that established them in the first place. Get ready to experience the new Anti-Clone, and the new world order.

Anti-Clone is:

Vocals – Peter “CLΩNE” Moore
Guitar – William “26” Richardson
Bass – Pat “KAKES” Godin
Drums – Drew “ALPHA” Moore

Sea of Tranquility and VisionMerch.com are thrilled to announce Sea of Tranquility Fest 2022 live at the Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 1, 2022.

Sea of Tranquility is a web portal for information, news, and reviews related to the worlds of progressive rock, various forms of metal, and fusion music with a large following on social media and YouTube.  The Sea Of Tranquility team organized an online event, Sea Of Tranquility Fall Fest, in 2020 that was very well received and had some great bands involved (Uriah Heep, Doro Pesch, Mark Kelly from Marillion, Andy Powell from Wishbone Ash and many more).

Inspired by the success of the online version, Sea of Tranquility founder Pete Pardo decided to take the next step and hold a live in person version of the event. “SoT Fall Fest 2022 will bring together many of the elements that make our YouTube Channel & Webzine a daily destination for so many people-progressive rock, classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and insightful conversation. Join us for a jam-packed day of music & talk! Break away from your television, computer, tablet, and phone as the Sea of Tranquility crew break away from Zoom for a day full of music & discussion at The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY. You are all welcome!” – Peter Pardo, SeaOfTranquility.org

Sea of Tranquility Fest 2022 will feature live version of popular Sea of Tranquility panels in the afternoon and a Q&A with Chris Caffery of Savatage and Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

The evening portion will feature performance from Nektar, Vanilla Fudge (featuring original members Mark Stein, Vince Martell, Carmine Appice and Pete Bremy), Pat Travers Band, Epic Tantrum and Sonus Unbra.  There will also be a live Q&A with Andy Powell of Wishbone Ash between sets.

“We’re happy to be headlining the Sea Of Tranquility Festival on Saturday, October 1,” says Nektar’s Derek “Mo” Moore. “Hope you can join us for what’s sure to be a great evening! We are looking forward to seeing and meeting you there!”

Lastly, respected author and SOT recurring guest Martin Popoff is also honored to be a part of the festival and looking forward to participating.

“It’s an honor for me to be part of the Sea of Tranquility Fall Fest. Pete Pardo, through his encyclopedic music knowledge and easy manner delivering it many times a week for years, has built up an impressive like-minded community of fully 76,000 subscribers, many of who have

been clamoring for something like this certainly for at least the nearly two years since it’s become a rumor. It’s going to be a huge pleasure meeting in person so many of them along with many of the fellow speakers Pete calls up to share in the Sea of Tranquility experience day after day, across all his many shows, each celebrating some aspect of the rock ‘n’ roll experience.”

“Discussion, debate and possibly a few drinks will be the order of the day, as Pete has planned live on-stage versions of many of the shows we see on the channel, followed by generous Q&As. I’m looking forward to the vendors as well, and then once into the evening, the esteemed slate of classic rock, heavy metal and progressive rock bands Pete has gotten to be part of entertainment across two simultaneously humming stages. All told, this is the ultimate celebration of the extended Sea of Tranquility family under one roof, analyzing and celebrating music. And once all our voices are hoarse, we get to settling in for a dance card of legendary rock bands—many of whom have been discussed on the channel repeatedly through the years—all doing their thing in the spirit of communion Pete has effortlessly fostered through his remarkable channel.”

Tickets:
$60 General Admission (general admission tickets get entrance to evening and afternoon sessions)
$75 Reserved Seats in the Chance theater (Reserved Tickets get entrance to evening and afternoon sessions)

Tickets are available at this location.

More about Nektar:

For more than 50 years, Nektar has taken legions of fans on audio-visual journeys to far reaches of the universe and the depths of the ocean with their immersive blend of sight and sound. These prog-rock pioneers have been champing at the bit to get back on the road and are excited to announce they will tour America’s Northeast and Midwest this autumn, with many more dates scheduled through Spring 2022. The “Vinyl Sides Live” Tour marks Nektar’s eagerly awaited return to the road, spotlighting some of the best-loved “album sides” from their evergreen catalog, as well as 2020’s acclaimed release, “The Other Side,” plus new material.

Formed in Germany in 1969 by British expats, Nektar soaked up the musical freedom they found in their new home, favoring extended compositions and concept albums over the constraints of pop. They were among the progenitors of the progressive rock movement of the 1970s as well as the jam-band scene that arose in the late 1990s. Their sound traveled well to the States, where they enjoyed Top 40 success with “A Tab in the Ocean” (1972) and “Remember the Future” (1973). Nearly 20 albums and a half-century later, the band’s artistic and personal charisma has earned them masses of devoted fans, who have flocked to festivals such as NearFest and ProgStock, and venues like the Wildey Theatre (where they perform multi-night sold-out shows) to indulge their passion for the Nektar experience.

Currently, Nektar features three of the original members – Derek ‘Mo’ Moore (bass guitar, vocals), Ron Howden (drums, percussion, vocals) and Mick Brockett (visual environment). Ryche Chlanda (guitar, vocals) and Randy Dembo (bass guitar, bass pedals, 12-string guitar, vocals) are alums of previous Nektar incarnations. World-class multi-instrumentalist Kendall Scott completes the lineup on keyboards; his performance credits include Project/Object and Ryche Chlanda’s Flying Dreams. They will be joined onstage by Maryann Castello on backing vocals.
