Speaking on the new single, LITA comments:
“‘Dracula’ is a song about an entity that represents seduction and control, eventually draining you of your life and everything in it. But there’s something fun about flirting with disaster, making ‘Dracula’ a playful fantasy. The moaning slide guitars take on a life force all their own. Menacing!”

LITA FORD began her career in 1976 as the lead guitarist of The Runaways, the groundbreaking all-female rock band behind classics like “Cherry Bomb” and “Queens of Noise.” After the band’s breakup in 1979, FORD forged her own path and quickly established herself as one of the most influential women in hard rock and heavy metal.
FORD launched her solo career in 1983 with ‘Out for Blood,’ followed by ‘Dancin’ on the Edge’ in 1984, which earned her a Grammy nomination and produced the hit “Gotta Let Go.” She reached new heights with her 1988 self-titled album, ‘Lita,’ a multi-platinum success that featured the iconic singles “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever,” her celebrated duet with Ozzy Osbourne. She went on to release ‘Stiletto,’ ‘Dangerous Curves,’ ‘Black,’ and ‘Living Like a Runaway,’ earning additional Grammy nominations along the way.
Over the course of her career, FORD has been recognized with the Guitar Player Lifetime Achievement Award, Guitar Player Certified Legend Award, and induction into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame. In 2017, she was honored as the First Lady of Rock Guitar at the She Rocks Awards. Her influence has also extended beyond music, with appearances in film, television, and video games, while her 2016 memoir, “Living Like a Runaway,” became a national bestseller. Her iconic B.C. Rich Warlock guitar was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s permanent collection in 2021.
Cleopatra’s own irrepressible God of Thunder, the mighty Thor, is laying down his hammer.
One more album, one more tour, and that, he says, is it. The cape will go into storage, the helmet will be placed on the shelf, and Mjolnir, the hammer… well, hopefully it will pass to someone else, because a world without Thor just doesn’t bear thinking about.
Before he goes, though… “The Mighty Don’t Fall,” is what he sings, and he’s right. He’s backed by a band packed with star power – Rick Wakeman on keyboards has played with everyone from Yes to David Bowie; Bob Daisley’s bass underpinned some of Rainbow’s greatest albums; Vinny Appice drummed Black Sabbath to new heights; and guitarist Marcus Nand is a new name that everyone is watching.
And Thor? The anthemic “The Mighty Don’t Fall,” he says, “is the most heartfelt and emotional song I have ever co-written and performed”. He describes it as “an elegy written to honor lost friends, legends and heroes,” but catch the video and it takes you in directions you might never have dreamed of – “A horror story told in chords and shadows”!!!!
Scheduled for release in 2027, Thor is adamant. “The Final Battle is the climax of a long journey…” a very long journey.
Jon Mikl Thor was just 16 when he started training for Mr. Teenage Canada and Mr Teenage America, lifting monstrous weights and building up his thighs with reps of full squats with 600 pounds. All the while listening to heavy metal on the radio. He went on to win multiple championships such Mr. Canada, Mr. USA, Mr. Universe.
In 1973, he decided to combine his super human strength with feats of power and musical mayhem. Smashing bricks on his chest with an audience member swinging a sledge hammer, while another bore down with a pneumatic drill; bending steel in his bare hands; blowing up and exploding lifetime quaranteed hot water bottles; lifting up the heaviest person in the audience with his neck.
He was the Evil Knieval of metal.
It wasn’t easy. The broken bricks would constantly batter his knees. Sledgehammers would break his ribs. For years, Thor endured this pain for the fans – they were everything to him and he knew, they must be entertained. It must be real.
52 years later, all the risks, strength feats and stunts have taken their toll. During Thor’s 2024 North American tour, he had to be helped off the stage after the performance as his knees swole up like a football.
The Metal Avenger has had numerous surgeries to repair the damage, most recently full replacement knee surgery, a major undertaking that replaced damaged cartilage and bone with prosthetic titanium implants. It will take up to a year for Thor to fully recover.
But The Final Battle doesn’t even wince! Thor describes the album as “my magnum opus, and this single sets the stage for what is to come.
“I poured my absolute soul into this project. The Final Battle is the biggest thing I’ve ever been involved with, and I couldn’t wait any longer to give you a taste of it. The Final Battle is everything I am, everything I’ve learned, and everything I have left to say. This prelude single is the first step into that world.”
“The Mighty Don’t Fall” releases today on all digital platforms, while collectors are offered a limited edition gold vinyl 12-inch single, with the a-side vacked by two storming covers, Deep Purple’s “Speed King,” from Cleopatra’s Purple Storm tribute album, and Hawkwind’s “Needle Gun” – another preview of The Final Battle.
And Thor is correct. The mighty do not fall. Not even when their legs give way!
German heavy stoner rock veterans TRANSONIC SCIENCE unleash their new single “Moon Parade”, accompanied by an official promo clip available now. The track is the latest preview of their upcoming full-length album, Velvet Doom, due November 27, 2026, via Argonauta Records on CD, colored vinyl and digital formats.

Deathcore didn’t invent itself. The crushing combination of classic death metal ferocity with hardcore-punk spirit was created in garages and grimy venues. It was celebrated on message boards, in comment sections, and in sweaty, anarchic spaces where hardcore kids and death metal obsessives gathered. As the burgeoning subgenre formed, teenage metalheads dared one another to get heavier. SUICIDE SILENCE made their logo synonymous with the most volatile and definitive stomp of the postmodern sound. Since their first rumblings in California’s Inland Empire in the early 21st century, the band’s fusion of sonic violence, punk confrontation, and unapologetic nü-metal bounce put a fresh face on extreme metal.
SUICIDE SILENCE remains stubbornly communal. They have always written best with bodies in a room, amps cranked, and friendly arguments evolving into arrangements. That collective instinct gives “Graceless” its strange comfort amid the chaos. It is vicious, ugly, physical, immediate, and fully inhabited by a band that survived every argument about what it was supposed to be.
As Garza puts it, the goal was to “just get out of the way and serve that band logo. When we choose to do that, great things follow. We’re back to doing it exactly as we did it when we were kids: just playing heavy shit and doing it from the heart.”
Deathcore was once a word thrown at them as a limit. Today, it’s a flag planted in the dirt. Twenty-four years after their first noise from SoCal, SUICIDE SILENCE stands in rare company: survivors who never mistook endurance for safety, craftsmen more than capable of making instinct sound like impact. “Graceless” is the circle closing, hard, with newly sharpened teeth, hungry for future conquest.

Italian metal icons Lacuna Coil have released a double single featuring a redux version of “Fragile” (titled “Fragile XX”), plus a remix of “I Wish You Were Dead” by SWARM, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Karmacode. Combining their past and present history into one celebration of this milestone, “Fragile” originally appeared on Karmacode while “I Wish You Were Dead” is taken from the group’s latest album, 2025’s Sleepless Empire.

Lacuna Coil’sAndrea Ferro (vocals) comments: “‘Fragile’ has always been a live favorite, it was actually one of the very first songs we debuted on stage even before ‘Karmacode’ was released 20 years ago. Its message of accepting life’s vulnerability, never surrendering though we live in a fragile circle that is often breached, is one that we still relate to today. While reworking a much loved song can initially feel unsettling (in particular for Maki, our main songwriter), we faced the process as a tribute to ‘Fragile’ and ‘Karmacode‘, and are really excited by the result. ‘Fragile XX’ feels and sounds like Lacuna Coil in 2026, and we look forward to performing it live for the next 20 years!”
SWARM adds: “As a long-time fan of Lacuna Coil, I am incredibly honored to have been asked to reimagine a song of theirs. I remember hearing ‘Karmacode‘ back in the mid-2000’s and thinking that the melodies sounded so interesting & exotic. That whole album really helped to shape my taste in music, and I have been a fan ever since. “I’m cautious about agreeing to do remixes, especially when it’s for a band I love. I never ‘remix for the sake of remix’. I want to make it worth the listen; to respect the original while tastefully (and aggressively) turning it upside down and shaking something absolutely crazy out. I’m very proud of how I was able to do that here.”
