Recent Prosthetic signees, VOLCANDRA have released their new EP, titled Border World, via the Los Angeles heavy metal label. The Louisville, KY group’s latest release features four songs of highly ambitious sci-fi inspired melodic black metal, featuring a plethora of fantasy video game references within their songwriting and lyrics. In support of Border World, VOLCANDRA head out on tour today (June 24) with more details on the tour below.

Listen to Border World via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify

Speaking on the release of Border World, VOLCANDRA comments: “We are so excited to finally unleash Border World to the masses. The songs on this release were all meticulously crafted to entice the imagination of the listener, get their fists pumping, and their heads banging. With a balance of melody and ferocity this EP is destined to take you for an outlandish ride, but is still only a taste of things to come.”

Since their 2019 inception and a well-received 2020 debut full-length, Into the Azure, VOLCANDRA have steadfastly been honing their craft on both the live-circuit and in the recording studio. Across Border World’s runtime, VOLCANDRA offers a distinctively futuristic vision of melodic black metal – with lyrical tales of possessed mythical beasts, draconic cyborgs and mystical border worlds inspired by a deep love for video games and futuristic storytelling. All of these thematic elements are brought to life in stunning fashion by Varises Otak (Cattle Decapitation, Cryptopsy and Amon Amarth)’s cover art.

Produced in its entirety by Devin Harper at Nocturnal Audio in the band’s home city of Louisville, Border World’s amalgam of sonic extremity and melodious sheen compliments the band’s lofty musicianship – with guitar duo Jamie DeMar and River Jordan alternating between contorted rhythms and luculent leads. VOLCANDRA’s propelling force of Mike Hargrave (drums) and Dyer Keathley (bass) provide a resolute backbone to the EP’s more excoriating passages of black metal, allowing Dave Palenske’s vocals to sit commandingly atop Border World’s barrage of sound.

Disinterested in theatrics and forced mystique, VOLCANDRA’s latest slice of fantasy world building is a byproduct of the band members lifelong reverence for science fiction – which serves as a vibrant alternative to some of metal’s darker corners. The group have officially opened the portal to their border world, and the invite remains open for all dreamers and wide eyed escapists who wish to enter.

This crushing new opus from DBW is a total lesson in authentic musical aggression and was produced by Nicky Bellmore (drummer & producer of Dee Snider, Corpse Grinder, & Jasta).

Check out Dead By Wednesday’s first official single and video entitled “Here Comes The Dead” which premiered on Metal Injection. This video was shot in New Haven, CT. at the legendary Toad’s Place and was produced by Tom Flynn who has worked with the likes of Lamb of God, Body Count, All That Remains, & many more.

People all over are talking about the new DEAD BY WEDNESDAY album Capital Conspiracy. Check out what Gary Holt (guitarist for Exodus & Slayer), Eddie Trunk, & Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage has to say about Capital Conspiracy here:

“This album is a roller coaster ride of emotions. These emotions range from grief of a loved one or a passion, struggles with love and life, to current affairs in both the world and our country regarding both social and governmental affairs. To me, it was an opportunity to tell a story to the world and to share a perspective that many wouldn’t or couldn’t picture or relate to. This album is raw emotion in its purest form,” says Esteban Alvarez, the vocalist for the band.

Be on the lookout for a full feature, interview and album review coming out in the July issue of Outburn Magazine!

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN release “Echoes,” the second new song and music video this year from the progressive/power metal band. The digital single can be heard at all streaming/download platforms or watch the video below.

“Echoes’” message is further explained by singer Carlos Zema, “For generations, humanity has longed for a truth. The right to unite what has been divided. We long to be free from all our differences, genders, colors, nationalities, religions, beliefs and any other type of separation. This real freedom relies on our minds, in being free from all these fears, repressions, oppressions, and everything else that stops us from being united. In the name of this truth, our voice will echo endlessly – Freedom!”

The talented and hard-working quartet are feverishly putting the finishing touches on a new album since coming home from their recent 5-weeks across the US and Canada with video game-inspired shredders PowerGlove, where in the midst of dates they dropped their first new song since last year’s acclaimed ‘Psychosomatic’ album with “Ozona” – https://youtu.be/vFXXsqk__hA

‘Psychosomatic’ has been lauded by Metal Temple for its “melody and power, two things displayed in a smashing way throughout this album” and led Metal Rules to call the group “one of the most interesting bands that have emerged in recent years on the international power metal scene.” Video clips for the title track, “Candlelight,” and “Phobia,” the latter of which featured a guest appearance by Angra guitarist Marcelo Barbosa, have captured the ears of heavy metal fans worldwide, while their videos for “Clocks,” “Lockdown” and “Read Between The Lines” have earned praise from the likes of MetalSucks, Metal Injection and Gear Gods. CD and digital editions of “Psychomatic” are still available for purchase at https://www.smarturl.com/immortalguardian.

After making a splash via their 2018 full-length debut “Age of Revolution” – which featured its own fair share of creative music videos, including the “Armageddon”-meets-telenovela clip for “Stardust” – and through tours with the likes of Marty Friedman and Exmortus, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN gathered in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2020 to record their second album. As the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic began to ensue, shutdowns around the world began being enforced, resulting in the band completely scrapping the record that they had been working on and writing and creating a new thematic record about their emotions surrounding current events. The resulting “Psychosomatic” was a truly multi-national record, with guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian – known for his uncanny ability to play the two instruments simultaneously – remaining in Las Vegas, singer Carlos Zema recording his vocals from his home in Brazil, drummer Justin Piedimonte tracking from Montreal and bassist Joshua Lopez recording from IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s native Texas.

The newly-released music videos for “Echoes” and “Ozona” is just a small taste of the new territory that IMMORTAL GUARDIAN plans to take their sound in 2022. More information on additional new music and touring in 2022 will be revealed in the months to come by M-Theory Audio and at https://www.facebook.com/igmetal/.

NEROARGENTO Release New Album “Land of Silence” on October 7th, New Single + Video ‘The Way I Am’ Revealed

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 25, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: NeroArgento. Leave a comment

Award-winning Italian producer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and re-mixer, NeroArgento announces he will be releasing his sixth studio album “Land of Silence” via Rockshots Records on October 7th, 2022.

An explosive mixture of grunge rock, industrial metal, and electronic music, packed with orchestral influences and acid fuzzy sounds, “Land of Silence” follows the success of 2020’s “Circles”, which soared to #10 on the iTunes Top 200 Italy Rock Chart along with more than 1 million streams on Spotify.

“Land Of Silence” is the most coherent record to date from NeroArgento‘s discography. It’s a solid industrial foundation composed of unmistakable low-tuned guitar riffs and very heavy drum grooves, topped with electronics and synths ranging from the most acid electro to retro wave pop-friendly melodies, without forgetting the usual and distinctive vocal layers.

With great attention to every aspect, “Land of Silence” is entirely performed, recorded, and mixed by NeroArgento.
The record was mastered by Brandon Ashley at D-Tuned in Brighton (UK) and features prominent guests such as Vicio (Subsonica) and Claudio Ravinale (Infernalizer).

To anticipate the album’s release, NeroArgento has chosen the track “The Way I Am” as the first single.

“The track is influenced by a more classic nu-metal sound in the vibe of the early Linkin Park, but in a current guise, in the wake of bands like Tetrarch or Motionless in White with detuned guitars, massive grooves, and super melodic choruses,” adds NeroArgento.

The video clip for “The Way I Am” was directed by NeroArgento, Fabio Brunello (CGI), and Mattia Di Matera (live shots) and is a journey into the near future, composed of different power plays and opposing realities that contrast with each other in search of a balance that struggles to remain to stand, all surrounded by classic 80’s cyberpunk settings and the inevitable neon lights.

NeroArgento is recommended for fans of Motionless In White, Falling In Reverse, and Bring Me The Horizon.

As a producer / arranger NeroArgento has appeared on more than 50 records released worldwide, is endorsed by ESP guitars, ML sound Labs, and Mad Cat Amps.

WEREWOLVES Premiere New Album “From the Cave to the Grave”, Now Streaming in Full

WEREWOLVES are today premiering their new album, From the Cave to the Grave, in full via Decibel Magazine. From the Cave to the Grave is the Australian death metal trio’s third album in as many years, with each new release ushering in a new natural disaster (be it Australian bushfires or a literal global pandemic). WEREWOLVES latest full length is here, brace yourselves.

LISTEN TO THE FULL ALBUM PREMIERE OF FROM THE CAVE TO THE GRAVE VIA DECIBEL HERE.

Speaking on the premiere, bassist and vocalist Sam Bean comments: “If you want to get your teeth kicked in minus the surgery bills, this is your album. From the Cave to the Grave is the most aggressive release of the year and anyone who says otherwise is a great big fat false. I wouldn’t be surprised if just the picture of the cover is roaming the internet and bashing all the other pretenders. Violence is fabulous. Cheers to Decibel for the premiere.”

WEREWOLVES’ debut The Dead Are Screaming was recorded in 2019 and followed by Australia going from medium to well-done in apocalyptic bushfires. The second release What A Time to Be Alive was recorded in 2020 and closely preceded a global pandemic then mass hysteria. WEREWOLVES attempted some caution and tact by only releasing a limited vinyl EP, DeathMetal, in February 2022 and happened to put it out for sale the same day war came to Europe.

rom The Cave to The Grave keeps up the searing pace of the first two WEREWOLVES albums, with a mix of black and death metal and unprecedented aggression that is coalescing into a style of its own. Opener Self-Help Book Burning kicks the door in Hate Eternal-style before deforming into a blackened ending. It’s followed by stadium crowd-pleaser We Are Better Than You, blaster All the Better to Eat You With, and social credit score-destroyer Crushing Heaven’s Mandate. Harvest of the Skulls is an ode to the horror of genocide and the rest of the album blasts through to closing threat Watch Your Mouth, leaving you to enjoy your ringing ears and mild trauma.

The mixing is by Joe Haley (Psycroptic) and the artwork is by Mitchell Nolte. Slayer never changed their shit up, neither will WEREWOLVES. “Change” can be mistaken for “progression”, which WEREWOLVES shrinks in horror from.

Upcoming WEREWOLVES tour dates:

June 25 – Crowbar – Sydney, Australia*
August 5 – Max Watts – Melbourne, Australia*
November 19 – Froth & Fury – Pirate Life Brewing – Adelaide, Australia
*w/ Psycroptic

DREADNOUGHT Share First “The Endless” Album Details + Brand New Single

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 25, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: DREADNOUGHT. Leave a comment

Following their much-acclaimed 2019 album, Emergence, August 26th will see Denver, CO based progressive metal outfit DREADNOUGHT return with their fifth full-length record, The Endless, via Profound Lore Records!

Featuring six brand new tracks spanning over 41 minutes, with their new album the band presents their most spellbinding musical feature yet. With riveting vocal performances, ferocious grooves, and soaring synthesis, the quartet offers a familiarity to the melodic awe of previous records “Lifewoven” (2013) and “Bridging Realms”(2015) as well as the dark complexities within “A Wake In Sacred Waves” (2017) and “Emergence”(2019), but with a beautifully fresh perspective in writing, production, and performance.

At its inception in 2012, Dreadnought’s four members, including guitarist/vocalist Kelly Schilling, drummer Jordan Clancy, bassist Kevin Handlon, and keyboardist/vocalist Lauren Vieira, strove for a project laser-focused on creativity and exploration, pulling from all aspects of their musical backgrounds to craft something exciting and unique. Joining in the common ground of extreme metal, the quartet explores a blend of prog, doom, folk, jazz, classical, black metal, and post rock.

Thematically, The Endless departs from the familiar abstract of Dreadnought’s first four albums and dives into a relatable character arc about the human divide of light and suffering. It is an overture to the complexities of the proliferation of life, exploring the trail of choices that shape our world and our lives. It invites the question, can we overcome our nature and make higher minded choices to better humanity and our planet? Or are we lost in a never ending cycle of shadow?

Tracklist reads as follows:

  1. Worlds Break
  2. Midnight Moon
  3. The Endless
  4. Liminal Veil
  5. Gears Of Violent Endurance
  6. The Paradigm Mirror

To shorten your wait for The Endless, with “Midnight Moon” Dreadnought have just released a first and intense album single. Listen to the track here:

The band comments:

“With Midnight Moon we aim to evoke feelings of intrigue and adventure, entangled with fear, betrayal, and chaos as our character finds herself swallowed by the depths of cult manipulation and espaces at an unforeseen cost.“

The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Pete de Boer of World Famous Studios. Artwork by Reza Afshar, photos by Frank Guerra, and design by Arcangel Impressions, Shane McCarthy, and Kelly Schilling.

The Endless will be coming out on August 26th and is available for pre-order HERE
