Experimental, young and rising metal act VORBID release yet another genre bending track with their second single Paradigm.

Listen here: https://orcd.co/paradigm

Heavily influenced by prog god fathers like Yes, Rush and Genesis, in combination with hard hitting thrash vocals and drums, Paradigm truly explore the limitless potential found in modern melodic prog metal.

Paradigm represent something new and different, where Vorbid candidly challenge genres and cross borders into new sonic territories.

Proving, yet again, how uncompromising and confident Vorbid are when it comes to music and artistic freedom.

Vorbid is a young, raw, and incredibly energetic metal band from Arendal, Norway.

The band stunned both fans and critics with their unique take on progressive metal infused with elements from thrash and melodic death metal.

The band was founded in 2013 while the members were still in their teens, and has since had rapid and intense growth into a band with their own unique style of metal where Vorbid combine the riffs and the intensity from the thrash genre with the techniques and melodies from the progressive rock genre.

Vorbid have won multiple contests, like 4th place in GBOB world finale (Global Battle of the Bands), Massive destruction, Rytmisk Fabrikk and the Norwegian finals in the Wacken Metal Battle as well as Bloodstock’s Metal 2 the Masses.

Both of the band’s previous releases, a self-titled EP from 2016, and their debut album Mind from 2018, received amazing reviews and got extensive media coverage. Landing them tours with Norwegian underground heavy weights such as Aura Noir, Obliteration and Einherjer.

In 2022 the Vorbid have returned with even more technically challenging and intriguing music, stepping up the game and proving themselves worthy of a place at the prog metal table.

CREDITS VORBID – PARADIGM
Produced by Vorbid and Endre Kirkesola
Music and lyrics by Vorbid
Michael Briggs – Vocals, rhythm guitars
Daniel Emanuelsen – Vocals, lead guitars
Marcus Gullovsen – Drums
Stian Gundersen – Bass

PSYCROPTIC Release New Single + Lyric Video ‘Exitus’

Australian extreme metal group PSYCROPTIC have today shared their new track, Exitus, to all streaming platforms alongside an accompanying lyric video produced by Aimed&Framed. Exitus is the second track to be taken from PSYCROPTIC‘s upcoming eighth studio album, Divine Council, due for release on August 5 via Prosthetic Records.

Listen to Exitus via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Spotify and Bandcamp

Pre-order / Pre-save Divine Council here

Divine Council tracklist:
1. Rend Asunder
2. A Fool’s Errand
3. This Shadowed World
4. Enslavement
5. Ashes of Our Empire
6. The Prophet’s Council
7. Awakening
8. A Fragile Existence
9. Exitus

Speaking on the release of Exitus, Jason Peppiatt (vocals): “Exitus is a song that’s built around a big, epic chorus and has a lot of dynamic push & pull throughout the track. We wanted the lyrics to have a powerful concept to match with the feel of the song and Exitus delves into the topic of the moments leading up to the death of a living being.”

Artwork painted by Eliran Kantor

Brothers Dave Haley (drums) and Joe Haley (guitar) have steered PSYCROPTIC through different shades of death metal, from the technical to the experimental, with longtime vocalist and lyricist Jason Peppiatt and bassist Todd Stern further embellishing the sound of the band to create something that is distinctively PSYCROPTIC.

Origin vocalist Jason Keyser has long been considered a part of PSYCROPTIC’s extended family, and on Divine Council he contributes vocals to the album tracks. As Peppiatt wrote the lyrics and vocal patterns, the group were able to utilise an extended palette of styles to further enhance his sound, courtesy of Keyser and additional vocals from Amy Wiles, hitting upon a collective approach to complement the Haleys.

With writing and recording punctuated by a pandemic and subsequent strict lockdowns, Divine Council was recorded in various locations across Australia and North America. Drums were tracked at Anubis Studios by Chris Thelemco, bass was captured by Justin Spaeth at Cave Bound Studio, and guitars, vocals and synths were recorded by the band’s own Joe Haley at his Crawlspace Studios before he mixed and mastered the albums nine tracks.

The suffocating atmosphere carries through to the lyrics that detail the myriad ways that human beings waste, destroy or devalue what’s in front of them – captured in the evocative album artwork, courtesy of the prolific Eliran Kantor. With narrative threads that throw back to tracks on both their self-titled album and As The Kingdom Drowns, PSYCROPTIC have found yet more new ways to explore human’s inherent inability to see the bigger picture – or change track before a miserable demise becomes a crushing inevitability.

Divine Council is an album that oozes confidence, maturity and a relaxed self assurance befitting of a band with a rich legacy behind them and an unconstrained future ahead of them.

Upcoming PSYCROPTIC live dates:
June 25 – Crowbar – Sydney, Australia*
August 5 – Divine Council Album Launch at Max Watts – Melbourne, Australia*
*w/ Denouncement Pyre, Werewolves and Golgothan Remains

SEETHING AKIRA Release Emotive New Single ‘Lost At Sea’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 19, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: SEETHING AKIRA. Leave a comment

SEETHING AKIRA take on a more introspective tone with their new hard-hitting metalcore single “Lost At Sea.” The second chapter within their upcoming third album Nozomi, “Lost At Sea” features thought-provoking lyrics, soaring guitar solo sections, steady rhythms, and fuses synths with a dominating vocal performance for a single that puts hope above all else, questioning the current fear-laden status quo. “Lost At Sea” remains a hard-hitting nu-metal track that personifies everything fans love about the band.

“‘Lost at Sea‘ evaluates the loneliness when all hope has gone, the fear that comes with the feeling that it may never return,” states Seething Akira. “Whilst without the understanding that it’s happening inside ourselves, oblivious to others knowing.“

Explosive. Bombastic. Defiant. Intense. Seething Akira continues to rock on with their gloriously turbulent nu-metal sound towards their next album. Hot off the editorial success of their last album Dysfunctional Wonderland and with a recent appearance at the Heavy Music Awards 2022, upcoming scheduled appearances at TECH-FEST on July 1st, the Hammerdown Festival on August 6, and a recently featured single on the hit Meta Quest VR game Smash Drums with “The Fallen” Seething Akira is not slowing down any time soon. But the question remains, will we be seeing more of the yellow banana shorts?!

“Lost At Sea” is out now from independent multi-genre music label FiXT.

Explosive. Bombastic. Defiant. Intense. Seething Akira have developed a gloriously turbulent sound that is uniquely their own. Founded by vocalists Charlie Bowes and Kit Conrad, Seething Akira are a 6-piece electronic nu-core band hailing from the seafront city of Portsmouth, UK that have been tearing venues apart across Europe with their powerful fusion of genres since 2012.

The band’s first full-length album, Sleepy Skeletor, dropped in 2018 and made it clear that Seething Akira would be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come. In late 2020, the band launched a series of new singles leading up to their second album, the highly anticipated Dysfunctional Wonderland. With the strength of the band’s music and their popularity with fans rocketing skyward, they connected with electronic rock label FiXT and forged a partnership for their future releases.

Seething Akira has been featured on the Rock Hard Spotify editorial list, while their single “Firepower” landed on Kerrang Radio and Scuzz. “I Am The Devil” and “The Islander”
were both featured on BBC Introducing, and “The Islander” premiered on Soundsphere Magazine.

At home and on the road, Seething Akira have also put their stamp on staple festivals such as Bloodstock, Victorious, Camden Rocks, and many more while touring with bands like The Qemists and The Algorithm. The band dropped the latest album Dysfunctional Wonderland in late 2021 and are now releasing new singles in mid 2022 in the build up to their new album.

Live Dates:
1st July Techfest, Newark Showground, Newark
15th July Dropout Kings, The Joiner Arms, Southampton
31st July, Amplified Festival, Rebellion, Manchester
6th August, Hammerdown Festival, The Venue, Worthing
