THE MACHINIST Release New Single ‘PIG’

New York City, NY extreme metal group THE MACHINIST have today shared PIG – the second song to be taken from their upcoming sophomore album, All is Not Well. On their latest single, THE MACHINIST lambast racially motivated institutional police violence with no holds barred candour and scorn. PIG will receive a music video treatment in the near future, with more news in due course. All is Not Well is set for release via Prosthetic Records on July 8.

Listen to PIG via Apple Music, TIDAL, Deezer, Bandcamp and Spotify
All is Not Well is available to pre-order here.

Speaking on PIG‘s release, Amanda Gjelaj (vocals) comments: “Writing PIG was very emotional. Lyrically, it’s in your face and gets straight to the point. We were in the middle of a global pandemic and in the middle of the Black Lives Matter movement, going to protests and seeing things I never thought I would have to see. This song is political but very real. We want our fans to feel and understand how serious these times are. With that being said, we are very excited to show everyone PIG.”

Three years on from their debut full length, Confidimus in Morte, and following US and Canadian tours alongside Falsifier and Black Tongue as well as US support slots with While She Sleeps and Vulvodynia respectively, the New York, NY trio have undergone a transformative process of upheaval. In the immediate wake of the Coronavirus pandemic that ravaged their homestate, THE MACHINIST found themselves at ground zero in New York in the early stages of All is Not Well’s creation. With a state of emergency declared, all studio work on the record ceased for an indeterminate time. In this universal limbo the groups core of Amanda Gjelaj (vocals), Josh Gomez (guitar) and Steve Ciorciari (drums) watched on in horror as 2020s political climate began to fall under the weight of itself alongside societal ills and the spread of rampant misinformation.

Resuming recording as the world tentatively took to recovery, THE MACHINIST teamed up with Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz (Bad Wolves, ex-The Acacia Strain) to produce, mix and master their sophomore effort, with help from Ice Nine Kills’ Ricky Armellino for vocal tracking. The time spent in isolation and witnessing the horrors of police brutality (explored on PIG), inflammatory politics and minority communities coming to terms with loss sits restlessly within the marrow of All is Not Well’s lyrical themes. Sonically, Gomez’s penchant for converging both death metal brutality and intricate melodic metal and hardcore serves as a counterpart to All is Not Well’s excoriating kickback at a world in crisis.

THE MACHINIST’s latest effort finds the band embracing more melodious territory and refining their more expansive inclinations with  Gjelaj’s vocal performance looming large as an anchoring force on the release’s nine tracks. Across All is Not Well’s 34 minute runtime, it’s plain to see that THE MACHINIST’s decade long existence has led to All is Not Well being the most conceptually and musically realised incarnation of the band yet.

Standing tall in 2022, THE MACHINIST discards solipsistic tunnel vision for a wider scope of the personal and political. All is Not Well refuses to resign in the face of the current climate’s ongoing political and personal divisions, opting instead to shine a light and give a platform for the chance of hope.

All is Not Well tracklist:
1. PIG
2. Mother Earth
3. All is Not Well
4. Hourglass
5. The Final Encounter
6. Death’s Embrace
7. Lysergic Lullaby
8. Monsters
9. Letter in Red

Upcoming THE MACHINIST show:
July 8 – All is Not Well release show – The Meadows – Brooklyn, NY
w/ Johnny Booth, Yak Mob, Onsight. Vendettanyc

CROBOT have released worldwide their new studio album “Feel This” via Mascot Label Group / Mascot Records.

Their latest song Set You Free is approaching the Top 30 at US rock radio rising with increased momentum week to week.

Singer Brandon Yeagley shares, “There’s a few things that you have to do when you find yourself deep in the heart of Texas shooting a music video – either something’s getting blown up or set on fire.  We decided the latter for the filming of ‘Set You Free.’  It’s always a pleasure working with the crew of MyGoodEye and this one is literally on fire.  With the help of our talented friend, Chelsee Jernigan (Fear of the Walking Dead, What About Molly?) we find ourselves lost in the woods with only the light of our flashlights and a few burning things…what things you ask? Well, what sort of things would you expect us to burn, Beardos?“

With tens of millions of streams, countless shows, and acclaim from the likes of Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Kerrang, BBC Radio, SiriusXM Octane, Loudwire, Guitar World and many more, Brandon Yeagley [vocals], Chris Bishop [guitar], Tim Peugh [bass], and Dan Ryan [drums] realize their vision like never before on their fifth full-length studio album.  The release follows 2019s Top 10 Heatseekers album MOTHERBRAIN, whose cumulative streams have surpassed 30 million. Twenty-one million of which were for the goliath single “Low Life,” a Top 10 single at Active Rock radio, with a 29-week run on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

“This is the record we’ve been wanting to do ever since we started,” exclaims Brandon. “We’ve always thought of ourselves as a live act,” he continues. “When Jay Ruston described his process of recording, we were beyond excited about getting in and getting our hands dirty. It involved performing live as a unit and finishing all instruments on a song before moving on to the next. We recorded 16 songs in 21 days, which is a feat in itself.”

They made waves with Legend of the Spaceborne Killer [2012], Something Supernatural [2014], and Welcome To Fat City [2016]. However, Motherbrain [2019] represented a high watermark. They’ve crisscrossed the U.S., and The World, in road-warrior style, playing with the likes of Anthrax, Black Label Society, Seether, Chevelle, Clutch, Volbeat, Halestorm and more. They’ve lit up festival bills and the annual Shiprocked! Cruise, Rocklahoma, Welcome To Rockville, WMMRBQ, Aftershock, and the Jericho Cruise alongside others. “We tour the pockets off of our pants and sleep in our van for half of the year. To some, that may seem like misery, but to us – it’s Heaven baby!” the frontman says.

Track list

  1. Electrified
  2. Dizzy
  3. Set You Free
  4. Better Times
  5. Golden
  6. Without Wings
  7. Livin’ on the Streets
  8. Into the Fire
  9. Dance with the Dead
  10. Holy Ghost
  11. Never Break Me

SPEKTRVM Release New Single/Official Video ‘Leviathan’

“What can one say about vanity. Vanity plays lurid tricks with our memory, and the truth of every passion wants some pretence to make it live. It is most often the unseen spur and everyone has as much of it as they want understanding. But in the only thing that can preserve you from it, lies the knowledge of yourself.”

Leviathan is the first single/official video from Greek metal group SPEKTRVM, taken from their forthcoming album Blood For Heaven, which is set for release on July 8th via Sliptrick Records. The video was directed by Maria Chatzigianni.

Multi-Platinum, Grammy nominated band SALIVA released their new radio single “Crows” to all major platforms! Catch the band on tour with Otherwise this June!

Singer Bobby Amaru states, “Crows is about a broken relationship with someone that is unable to accept what and who they really are. Someone you try and fix but cannot. When I say “I’m not bowing to the crows inside your head!”

He continues, “That means I’m done giving into the same shit that’s been eating this relationship alive. I think many people can relate who have been in this situation before. They continue to let the other person drag them down until enough is enough!”

“Crows” can be streamed/downloaded HERE

Saliva will continue to release tracks and ultimately a full album in 2022. The new music has a contemporary feel but sticks to the blue collar roots that their fans love.

Upon adding former Shinedown and Fuel bassist, Brad Stewart, as a permanent member, Saliva solidified their new lineup consisting of: Wayne Swinny, and Amaru.

Finnish Folk Metal band FOLKRIM and Inverse Records made a record deal and their second studio album titled ‘On Foaming Waves’ is set to be released on October 21st 2022.

The lyric video for the first single Crack a Cold One is released today and video is available below.

The band comments:
“Over a year has passed since our previous release. It’s been a year of hard work, but we’ve emerged with a freshly forged album full of frosty drinking songs. Following in the wake of the last album, we’ve mined more gold from the depths. Our first single from the coming release, ‘Crack A Cold One’, is keeping to the laid out path; telling a tale of joy and friendship. Let it echo through streets and pubs, heralding whats to come! ‘On Foaming Waves’, the upcoming, loosely pirate-themed album, will be a heavier union of metal and traditional music. The thing hits home like a cold beer on a summer day! We’ve joined forces with Inverse Records and look forward to see where cooperation leads us. But for now, let’s throw away our sorrows and crack a cold one !”

Single is also currently available on Bandcamp: https://folkrim.bandcamp.com

Folkrim is a five man band from Rauma, the grim western coast of Finland. To keep the long winters at bay, inspired by beer and nature, we wound up combining metal music with traditional instruments. Originally a one-man project, Folkrim grew fast into a full band and we released ‘Tales of Tumult’, our self published album in the spring of 2021. A year later we’ve joined forces with Inverse Records and our second album, ‘On Foaming Waves’ is awaiting it’s release in the fall of 2022.

Line-up:

Erno Helander – Vocals/orchestral production/ukulele/banjo/mandolin
Iiro Sarman – Electric guitars
Otto Hyvärinen – Acoustic guitars
Viktor Suominen – Bass guitar

Finnish BLACK ROYAL Return with New Album + Video for ‘Earthbound’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on June 6, 2022
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: BLACK ROYAL. Leave a comment

Following the success of their sophomore album Firebride in 2020, Finnish sludge metal savants BLACK ROYAL emerged as one of the Scandinavian underground’s most talked about bands.

Formed in 2013 in Tampere, Finland, Black Royal’s infectious brew of metal has garnered praise from the likes of Metal Injection, MetalSucks and CVLT Nation, while drawing hordes of followers with their creed crushing choruses and beguiling riffs, pitched perfectly between the dramaturgy of Ghost and brutality of Behemoth.

This month, the band make an almighty return to the fold. Newly signed to M-Theory Audio, Earthbound, the band’s third full-length album will be released later this year, but you can experience the fire and fury it’s title-track right here.

“What started out as more of a tribute to one of our favourite bands, Crowbar, quickly took a turn into something with a slightly more epic direction,” explains the band. “The lyrical story line was inspired by the ancient Scandinavian/Sami myths of the netherworld. Stories of things like ‘northern fire beliefs and the aurora borealis, which have long been associated with perceptions of the afterlife.”

Written and recorded at Studio Watercastle in August 2021, mixed by Oskari Hakala Rahko and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde (Convulse, Oranssi Pazuzu, Dark Buddha Rising), Earthbound will deliver the band’s heaviest collection of lurching sludge and groove-laden death metal songs yet. Packed with thunderous guitars and drums that trade blows at the gates of Valhalla, all deftly balanced on a psychedelic knife-edge, the band also takes to the road this summer with a tour across Finland (see dates below).

More info on Earthbound will be released in the coming weeks (along with pre-order details) but for now, kick back and enjoy their new video and single here.

NEXT LIVE DATES:
10th June – Hard Rock House – Helsinki, Finland
17th June – Dog’s Home – Tampere, Finland
9th July – BarBar Feast 2022 – Tallinn, Estonia
23rd July – Vahantarock 2022 – Ylöjärvi, Finland
