SLOWPOKE Release New Video for ‘Live In Argentia’

Canadian Doom/Punk/Psychedelic band Slowpoke release a new video – “Live In Argentia” which premiered May 31st via Doomed & Stoned and can be found here.

In the summer of 2021 St. John’s Doom/Punk/Psychedelic band Recorded Slowpoke Live in Argentia with the help of Johnny Rawkhard, Rick Hollett, Glen Tizzard and Rick Tizzard, and Stephany Donahue. Slowpoke Live in Argentia features live performances of “Stony Iommi” and “Slumlord” against the back drop of an abandoned bunker off the Argentia airstrip in Argentia Newfoundland. We hope you enjoy watching it half as much as we enjoyed making it. Special thanks to Arts NL and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for providing funding for this project.

Slowpoke adds: “We chose these two tunes not only because they run into each other well but they also run the gammut of what we do as a band. We packed in high energy punk, Riffs, shoegazy effect wizardry, and even a meditative atmospheric part too!”

Slowpoke formed in St John’s Newfoundland Canada in 2018 by Ben Chapman-Smith (Bass, Vocals) and Cameron Legge (Guitar). In early 2019 Adam Young (Drums) joined the band. The trio went on to record the bedrock of their upcoming album ‘Slowpoke” and closed the night at Still Heavy’s Midsummer Mayhem 3 festival and were dubbed the “hidden gem of the evening” by Tony Carew owner of Still Heavy. COVID-19 made live performances a non-option in 2020 so Slowpoke went inside and worked away at their release, and applied for a MusicNL Artist development grant which they received in January 2021. Upon receiving the grant Slowpoke enlisted the services of Rick Hollet at Redhouse Recording (sHeavy, Hey Rosetta!) for Mixing and Chris Keffer at Magnetic North (The Black Keys, Cheap Trick) studios for Mastering. Slowpoke is currently performing in Newfoundland and has an album release show planned at the Rockhouse in St. Johns on August 21st 2021 with The Birchmen and local legends sHeavy.

Polish LEASH EYE Release Video for ‘Step On It’

Polish hard rockers LEASH EYE have released a video for “Step On It’. The single comes from the fifth studio album of the group, entitled “Busy Night, Hazy Days”. Watch the video below.

Leash Eye’s combination of dirty guitars, a powerful rhythm section, real rock vocals, and perhaps the dirtiest Hammond organ sound on the modern scene creates a mix the band calls ‘hard truckin’ rock’.

Active since 1996, the band recently moved away from modern metal production values, opting for a more raw and organic sound, while retaining everything that makes up Leash Eye’s unique character – influences from southern rock and classic rock, plus a touch of stoner.

More than ten years without a new studio album could be reason enough for a band to fall into oblivion, unless of course they left a lasting impression on their fans before their hiatus. In case of Swedish melodic metal act DRAGONLAND, who have inspired their extensive following repeatedly since the release of their debut The Battle Of The Ivory Plains (2001), the anticipation of new material has continued to grow from year to year since their 2011 release Under The Grey Banner. Now, DRAGONLAND returns to the heavy music scene, with their brand new, colossal single ‘The Power of the Nightstar‘!

The song impressively illustrates, why DRAGONLAND still belongs to one of the most energetic and passionate bands of their genre, unleashing epic, fast-paced power metal with gripping melodies! ‘The Power of the Nightstar‘ was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen at renowned Hansen Studios, and sees the band continue as the line-up consisting of keyboardist Elias Holmlid, bassist Anders Hammer, vocalist Jonas Heidgert and guitarists Olof Mörck and Jesse Lindskog, complemented by drummer Johan Nunez (Firewind, ex-Nightrage), who joined DRAGONLAND in 2014.

“We’re thrilled to finally unveil a small part of our forthcoming album,” the band reveals. “This explosive track is a centerpiece of the story line and presents a turning point for our protagonists whose new found hope is expressed in the uplifting chorus.”

Finnish progressive metal act SOMEHOW JO releases their 1st single with a new video ‘FRIEND’ -from the upcoming 3rd album. STORM Unleash Second Single ‘Beautiful Pain’

STORM draws inspiration from bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse, Motionless in White and Yungblud, and he is a part the new wave in music that appeals to a generation rather than to fans of a specific genre.

About the second single STORM states;
“Beautiful Pain is a track about how crazy the world has become, and how you really don’t should give a f**k about what other people tell you to do and to trust your own opinions and not follow the masses.
This track was the last one I finished for this EP and I think this is definitely the most catchy track of the EP.

Behind the stage name STORM is Leo Davadi Sundli, who despite his young age of 13 already have accomplished a lot as an artist. His career began in 2019 with the band Snøstorm, and top tier media in Norway such as VG, NRK, Musikknyheter and Adresseavisa quickly noticed the young talents.

“They simply make music that is as catchy as it is heavy. This was altogether awesome for a real metalcore fan like myself. ” Musikknyheter (NO) wrote after their performance at the Rotvoll Festival in 2019.

In 2020, Leo chose to move on from Snøstorm, and started his new band project STORM. It did not take long before the multi-talent was noticed, and in 2021 he managed to secure a record deal with the prestigious Indie Recordings, and booking agent with the renowned All Things Live.

Atlanta black metal outfit CLOAK will be embarking on the “Poisonous Pandemonium” co-headliner with BEWITCHER this summer! The band is now announcing additional July dates after their appearance at Northwest Terror Fest in Seattle, WA on July 2. The full run can be found below and tickets are on sale now.
