Iran’s HETEROCHROME Revisit Tragedy Through ‘Badbadak (The Flight)’

Iran’s HETEROCHROME have a new album “From the Ashes” coming out this spring and the second single to entice listeners is the heavy “Badbadak (The Flight)”. Somber and driving in both topic and music, the single revisits the 2020 tragedy of flight 752. The band explains further:

“January of 2020 marked the tragedy of the Iranian Government shooting down the Ukrainian passenger airplane killing many of our loved ones including one of Mida’s old schoolmates. In the grief following that loss, Mida drew from an old school song called Badbadak (The Kite) and wrote this song. The music video represents the same suffering.”

The visually striking video was created by Mani Zonoozi who made it in a small aquarium with underwater equipment in the USA. It also features shots from Mida and Arash recorded in Canada and Finland.

The single and video for “Badbadak (The Flight)” can be heard below.

and at Bandcamp – https://heterochrome.bandcamp.com/track/the-flight

This is not the only song on the album to deal with dark subject matters, as a whole, it is a much deeper dive into the personal experiences of the band members than their debut. They hope that the fans appreciate the new path they are taking, and connect with the songs on the same personal level as them. Written as a concept album, each track forms a small part of a bigger picture, and while each serving is a unique story on its own the album has been tailored to be enjoyed as a whole.

Heterochrome started out with a melodic and emotional progressive sound, however over time they started to experiment with the alternative, electronic, and nu-metal genres as well, trying to find a balance to perfectly capture the essence of their sound between those styles and traditional Persian music. They are recommended listening for fans of Porcupine Tree, Gojira, and Draconian.

“From The Ashes” will be released on May 13, 2022.

THE SAME RIVER Release New Single ‘Voyage\\The Great Sea’

The track Voyage\\The Great Sea, from Greek rock group THE SAME RIVER, features two-parts. The first part (‘Voyage’) is life. The everlasting struggle from the day we are born until we draw our last breath. The fight with our inner demons, the fear of the unknown and the everyday effort we make to embrace the gift of existence. The second part (‘The Great Sea’), is afterlife. In many old myths from various civilisations, the passage to afterlife is commonly referred to as the great sea of souls. A place where unity is achieved. A place or a state where everyone becomes All. Musically the song is structured with the sense of constant movement, likening the waves of a sea and the journey of life and soul concurrently.

Voyage\\The Great Sea is taken from the forthcoming album Weight of the World from Greek heavy rock group The Same River. The album is set for release on May 13th, 2022 via Sliptrick Records and is already available to pre-order now from Shop Sliptrick at Dead Pulse …here

The classic and renowned Brazilian Death Metal band, NERVOCHAOS, led by Edu Lane (drummer) – great iconic battler of the Brazilian metal scene, has been confirmed as the first headliner of the online festival of the website CULTURA EM PESO, which will take place on June 4th and 5th!

Fed up with all the fads flooding the metal scene, Nervochaos was born in the spring of 1996 with the idea of creating extremely aggressive and chaotic music. With many line-up changes, always having its leader and founding member Edu Lane as a stamped figure in all releases of its expressive discography, the band has gained status in the extreme music scene due to its hard work in the last decade, offering a sonic extravaganza in its unique way of composition.

Promoting their last two and excellent releases, “Dug Up – Diabolical Reincarnations” (2021), an album of re-recordings of their Death Metal timeless classics and “All Colors Of Darkness” (2022), the group’s most recent full-album, their incredible and current line-up, counting with the very competent guitar duo Luiz Henrique Parisi – aka Quinho – and Woesley Johann, Pedro Lemes (bass) and the American vocalist Brian Stone, has been calling a lot of attention as a true ‘dream team’ of the Brazilian Death Metal. Nervochaos is a true Metal machine as they are constantly touring around the world in an average of more than 100 shows per year, from clubs to festivals!

Recently the group announced their next European tour, which has among its destinations countries like Holland, Belgium, France, UK, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Norway and Germany, confirmed so far.

The online festival CULTURA EM PESO FEST will take place on June 4th and 5th, with official broadcasting on the Youtube channel of the Cultura Em Peso website (www.youtube.com/culturaempesobr) and soon all the other attractions will be announced! Stay tuned!

About Cultura Em Peso:

The site had its start in mid-2005, founded by Iúri Cremo (@cremo_iu), and in its first years became one of the references in the Brazilian Underground, getting accesses in all South America. Today it performs in Brazil and Europe.
