Melodic death metal heavyweights BLACK THERAPY have announced the release of “Onward”, the band’s upcoming fourth album, which will be out on June 10th via Black Lion Records.
The band states: “This new album was written during the pandemic and we are proud of the outcome. Compared to “Echoes of Dying Memories” this is a more aggressive album, but it still retains the emotionally gripping sound, which can be considered our trademark. We also tried something different on some of the songs and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.“
Tracklist reads as follows:
Onward
Blindness
Betray My Ideals (feat. Filippo Palma)
Behind The Glass
Together
At the Gates of Soul
The Song of My Absence
Destroy The Fate
A Quiet Place
The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Blue Ocean recording studio and the majestic artwork was done by Simon Bossert.
Oulu, Finland-based doom and stoner trio HIGHWALKER has inked a deal with Argonauta Records for the release of their first full-length album, slated for a 2022 release!
Founded in hazy jam sessions in 2017, the instrumental band creates a wild ride into the realms of doom and psych rock trips, balancing between the slow- and heaviness mixed with a fast and groovy furious. Fans of acts alike Monolord, Kingston Wall and Elder should watch out for HIGHWALKER’s upcoming debut, and can now listen to the first official single, ‘Burning Temple’, taken from their self-titled album, right here:
Says Gero Lucisano, owner of Argonauta Records: “Highwalker are massively psychedelic the way it has to be. Long trips spaced-out for a never-ending journey through the cosmos. And when these sonorities are mixed with a touch of heaviness it is even an extra pleasure for your ears. The band delivers pure jam session attitude plus killer grooves, you cant really ask for anything better.”
“We have been warmly welcomed by the label and anxiously wait to release our album through Argonauta Records,“ the band comments. “The label roster is precisely the kind of crowd we want to be a part of and we are certain that fans of Argonauta will find us a worthy addition to this wild gang. See you on the road!“

With tens of millions of streams, countless shows, and acclaim from the likes of Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Kerrang, BBC Radio, SiriusXM Octane, Loudwire, Guitar World and many more, Brandon Yeagley [vocals], Chris Bishop [guitar], Tim Peugh [bass], and Dan Ryan [drums] realize their vision like never before on their fifth full-length studio album. The release follows 2019s Top 10 Heatseekers album MOTHERBRAIN, whose cumulative streams have surpassed 30 million. Twenty-one million of which were for the goliath single “Low Life,” a Top 10 single at Active Rock radio, with a 29-week run on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
“This is the record we’ve been wanting to do ever since we started,” exclaims Brandon. “We’ve always thought of ourselves as a live act,” he continues. “When Jay Ruston described his process of recording, we were beyond excited about getting in and getting our hands dirty. It involved performing live as a unit and finishing all instruments on a song before moving on to the next. We recorded 16 songs in 21 days, which is a feat in itself.”
Feel This is a tale of perseverance. “Through constant struggles, we learn more what it’s like to be human. Our shortcomings and strengths alike make us a unique species,” Brandon reflects. “Feel This very well may point to our biggest strength of all, our ability to feel emotion (for better or worse).”
Human nature is threaded throughout the album, from volatile relationships [“Dizzy”] to imperfections and learning from mistakes on “Holy Ghost.” Its warbling harmony wraps around the wah-drenched guitar straight out of Seattle; Brandon’s grunge-y wail rings out on the hook, “I am not the holy ghost. I won’t ever save your soul.” There’s “believing in something so much” on “Set You Free,” which spirals towards a seismic crescendo and emotionally charged guitar lead from Bishop.
Around the psyche-digging lyrics, they are never far away from thunderous rock ‘n’ roll. “Electrified” kickstarts the album as a rip-roaring livewire anthem. “It’s your classic rock ‘n’ roll tune about Frankenstein boots and being invincible!” Brandon says. There’s an epic anti-hero tale on “Without Wings,” and then there’s “Dance with the Dead.” Forgetting your troubles over an irresistible groove, the song struts with high-register harmonies and the infectious chant of “Let’s go dance with the dead. They know how to kill it!”
The song “Golden” is a soaring homage to a God-gone-too soon. “When it came to the lyrics, we collectively wanted it to be a tribute to Chris Cornell,” says Brandon. “We’re so influenced by everything he and Soundgarden have done. We ran with the song honoring his legacy.”
They made waves with Legend of the Spaceborne Killer [2012], Something Supernatural [2014], and Welcome To Fat City [2016]. However, Motherbrain [2019] represented a high watermark. They’ve crisscrossed the U.S., and The World, in road-warrior style, playing with the likes of Anthrax, Black Label Society, Chevelle, Clutch, Volbeat, Halestorm and more. They’ve lit up festival bills and the annual Shiprocked! Cruise, Rocklahoma, Aftershock, and the Jericho Cruise alongside others. “We tour the pockets off of our pants and sleep in our van for half of the year. To some, that may seem like misery, but to us – it’s Heaven baby!” the frontman says.
In 2019 when Covid-19 punched The World in the face, the Global Pandemic descended upon us. Chris and Dan hunkered down in Austin to jam and cut demos, sending ideas to Brandon back in Pennsylvania. 2021 saw the boys enter Orb Studios in Austin, TX with producer Ruston [Stone Sour, Anthrax, Avatar]. Since the world has begun to open up, the band have not stood still. The Rat Child EP was released last summer and featured a mighty cast of Frank Bello [Anthrax], Howard Jones [Light The Torch/ex-Killswitch Engage] and Stix Zadinia [Steel Panther].
You’ll feel rock ‘n’ roll comes to life in Crobot’s hands. “We never want to make the same album twice,” Brandon leaves off. “There is something for every Crobot fan out there as well as newcomers. At the same time, we’re having fun. We want to be taken seriously, but not too seriously—because this is monkey hour after all.” “That’s the fucking line right there,” agrees Bishop. “We want you to walk away smiling. If I can make you smile, I’ve done my job.”
LIEMUS is a brainchild by talented musician Timo Mustonen. The debut single IF (No One Can See) is released today by Inverse Records and it features guitar wizard Samuli Federley.
Mastermind Timo Mustonen comments: “If (no one can see) is a song I originally wrote in Finnish. I translated it into English due to the requirements of the band we had at the time. Personally, it was really important to me to have the song released – to get it out of the system, so to speak. I did all the instrumentation myself, bar the guitar solo. I asked Samuli Federley to do it, and the collaboration flowed easily right from the beginning. The song is about how guilt takes a toll on you. Stylewise, the song is honoring the legacies of the likes of Massachusetts and Los Angeles plus a glimpse of Vancouver.”
Liemus was born out of a need to express myself as a vocalist, songwriter and musician, in a way which was not possible in my previous projects. The seeds were sown when I decided to shut down Sound Fort, a band we had before I joined Sonus Corona.
It became apparent to me our story was drawing to a close in the fall of 2019, so I decided to work on my own material without the help of the band. I have always looked up to artists like Phil Collins and Anssi Kela, who have long been known to play all the instruments on their solo albums. Hence it was very important to me to do this on my own.
Of course I have had help from my close friends, who have encouraged me to keep on doing music. And producer Tommi Kujala has been supporting the journey all along, and he is also the person who did the mixing and mastering for my debut single If (no one can see).

Danish brutal death doom metal act KONVENT is currently gearing up for the release of their sophomore, critically acclaimed album Call Down The Sun, out this Friday, March 11, 2022 via Napalm Records. To shorten your wait, the Copenhagen-based band just unleashed a third album single alongside a new lyric video! Featuring a haunting violin and cello guest performance by Felix Havstad, on “Harena”, KONVENT creates a dark, eerie yet epic atmosphere, revealing threatening yet beautiful facets of their sound.
“Harena is an inner dialogue about self doubt, even though you know you’re meant for something bigger,” the band comments. “During this dialogue, you convince yourself it’s better to stay at status quo, because the feeling of unsatisfaction has become a well known safe space, though the outcome could be so much greater if you took a chance.”
After their debut full-length album, Puritan Masochism, took the entire doom and heavy metal scene by storm upon its release two years ago, KONVENT returns with a sophomore offering that doubles down on the band’s songwriting talent and brutal, heavy sound. The sonic evolution of KONVENT over the course of just two years is immediately evident on Call Down The Sun, surprising with new elements at every turn.
Undoubtedly inspired by recent dark times, the band’s upcoming album is more pissed off, fast-paced and pitch black throughout. Rikke Emilie List’s guttural, sublime growls and fierce screams perfectly integrate with a heavy as hell wall of blackened death and funeral doom metal riffs from guitarist Sara Helena Nørregaard, backed by a thick, profound rhythm section provided by bassist Heidi Withington Brink and drummer Julie Simonsen.
Recorded and mixed by Lasse Ballade at Ballade Studios, Copenhagen and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studio, Call Down The Sun unleashes a thunderous apocalyptic sound, and a vibrant record that is not only poised to top 2022 Album Of The Year lists, but reign as one of the best death and blackened doom metal records of modern times!
