Jimmy Kay and Alan Dixon from Canada’s The Metal Voice, recently interviewed drummer Gil Moore of Canada’s rock trio legends Triumph. Moore discussed the first-ever feature documentary about the band’s dramatic career, “Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine”, which was made available last month for streaming in Canada, only on Crave and to premiere on CTV March 12 , 2022 at 8pm EST.
Gil Moore was asked if the Documentary would be released on DVD he said,” there is going to be a DVD for sure, I know they started working on the packaging and the artwork. Bonus material I am not sure, again that is the film companies decision, so whatever decide but certainly the band is not against it. I think they are targeting it for late summer early fall for the DVD release and that will be available everywhere worldwide.”
Moore also spoke about the upcoming premiere on CTV Canada as well as distribution in the USA he said, “Just to clear the fog a little bit on the distribution, which is something the band obviously doesn’t control. The deal up here in Canada right now is this Saturday night, the movie’s gonna play on the CTV network, coast to coast, in prime time, 8 p.m., at whatever your local CTV affiliate is, wherever you are. As far as it streaming on Crave, it is continuing to stream on Crave and will be there for years. And film festival-wise, we also, after the Toronto International Film Festival, the film premiered at the Philadelphia Film Festival. We’re now scheduled for the Sarasota Film Festival as well; I don’t have a date on that. But I think there’s gonna be some announcements coming up fairly soon about U.S. distribution as well.”
MOTOR SISTER are thrilled to announce their forthcoming album Get Off, set to be released on May 6 via Metal Blade Records. The band has also shared lead single “Can’t Get High Enough,” out now, check out below.
“We wanted to make a high energy, kick ass rock & roll record from top to bottom,” shares vocalist/guitarist Jim Wilson. “All killer, no filler.“
Adds bassist Joey Vera: “Our first record ‘Ride’ was a collection of songs we re-recorded from the band Mother Superior which was great, but I’m stoked that we had this chance to actually get into a room together and write this batch of all new material. We keep in mind where this band originated from but we get to take it to totally different levels.“
About the new single, guitarist Scott Ian explains: “‘Can’t Get High Enough’ is a straight-up ripper from start to finish.“
Get Off will be available digitally as well as physically on digipak-CD, 180g black vinyl, crimson red w/ blue smoke vinyl (US exclusive) and pale blue grey marbled vinyl (EU exclusive – limited to 200 copies). To pre-save / pre-order, please visit: metalblade.com/motorsister
Get Off Tracklisting: 01. Can’t Get High Enough 02. Coming for You 03. Right There, Just Like That 04. Sooner or Later 05. Excuse Me, Your Life Is Exposed 06. Lion’s Den 07. 1,000,000 Miles 08. Pain 09. Bulletproof 10. Bruise It or Lose It 11. Time’s Up 12. Rolling Boy Blues
Comprised of vocalist/guitarist Jim Wilson (Mother Superior), guitarist Scott Ian (Anthrax), bassist Joey Vera (Armored Saint), drummer John Tempesta (White Zombie, The Cult) and vocalist Pearl Aday (Pearl), Motor Sister was originally formed as a Mother Superior covers band made up of diehard fans – and aided by sharing the same frontman – playing the songs for the love of doing so. Catching the attention of Metal Blade, the label offered to put out a record and the result was Ride (2015), a collection of live-in-the-studio takes cherry-picked from Mother Superior‘s back catalogue.
Now, they step beyond those parameters, returning with their second album, which is almost entirely brand new material. “The record of covers was already done, so there was no need to do it again,” says Aday. “We’re a bunch of songwriters with so much passion for the same kind of music, it just makes sense that we would make new music together, and it was easy as usual to follow Jim’s lead on this one. He was overflowing with songs and ideas so we all happily jumped right in.” Adds Wilson, “We definitely wanted to continue with the spirit of my old band and it’s not difficult really because everything Mother Superior did was done with heart and soul and I think soul is an important word. Not necessarily ‘soul music’ but the feeling that comes with it.“
The result is aptly described by Vera as “no bullshit hard rock and roll“, the record containing eleven originals and rounded out with a cover of Mother Superior‘s “Rolling Boy Blues”, which has been a live staple. Kicking off with the compulsive, high octane “Can’t Get High Enough” they immediately put the pedal to the metal, likewise on the pure rock n’ soul of “Bulletproof” and the swaggering “Excuse Me, Your Life Is Exposed”. They slow things down a little on the singalong glory of “Sooner Or Later” and the more plaintive “Pain”.
As with Ride, the band entrusted Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther) with production, and this time headed into LA’s Studio 606. “It’s a great sounding room and we got to track on the Sound City Neve, which is perfect for our sound,” says Ian. “And some really cool people – who took great care of us – own it.” Also in common with its predecessor, Get Off was recorded live in the studio, with all five members in the same room, vocals and leads redone after the basic tracks were laid down, but tracking was interrupted mid-process by Covid-19. This put things on hold, resuming a year later as the band added the finishing touches to the record, but this interruption definitely did not harm the feelings of exuberance and spontaneity that bleed from the speakers. Now, the band are looking forward and excited to play these originals live alongside the covers they are known for, and with shows getting booked for 2022 it’s time for fans to lose their shit and get off to one of the greatest rock and roll bands operating today.
Metal Blade Records is proud to welcome MANTAR to its worldwide roster!
Founded in 2012 by Hanno and Erinc, Mantar have become one of the leading forces in Extreme Metal within the last 10 years. Loved by fans and press alike, the band conquered the world by storm with their truly unique sound, leading them up to the Top 10 in the Official German album charts with their last studio album The Modern Art of Setting Ablaze (2018, Nuclear Blast) and sold out shows all over Europe.
After the self-released cover EP Grungetown Hooligans II (2020), the band is currently finishing up the work on their 4th studio album, slated for a summer 2022 release. Keep your eyes peeled for more news to follow soon!
The band comments: “As a band with a strong DIY background it was very important to us to work with a true independent label that not only respects but encourages our artistic freedom and visions as a band. With a dedicated team of true music fans and enthusiasts in Europe and in the US we are happy to have found a new home for our band and motivated worldwide partners for new Mantar tunes.“

Enigmatic dark metal outfit DEATHWHITE will be releasing their third full-length, ‘Grey Everlasting,’ on June 10 via Season of Mist! The band is now sharing the devastating first single, “Earthtomb,” along with a music video! The heart-wrenching video, which was created by Guilherme Henriques, can be found at THIS LOCATION.
DEATHWHITE comments:
“It is our abundant pleasure to share the video for ‘Earthtomb,’ the first single from ‘Grey Everlasting.’ The immaculate Guilherme Henriques shot the clip in Aceredo, Spain and Porto, Portugal. Unfortunately, the song and video are a rather timely and direct reflection of the times we live when unchecked power, deception, gas-lighting and flat-out lies are used as tools to wreak havoc upon humanity and sow discord.
“‘Earthtomb’ was written as our observation — and inherent wish — that these individuals succumb to their misdeeds. What is happening in Ukraine at the moment has, for the members of Deathwhite, made this song more prescient than ever. Our hearts go out to those impacted by this utter tragedy.”
‘Grey Everlasting’ is available to pre-order HERE and can be pre-saved to your streaming library HERE.
The cover art was created by Jérôme Comentale.
Tracklist: 1. Nihil (01:37) 2. Earthtomb (05:06) [WATCH] 3. No Thought or Memory (04:08) 4. Quietly, Suddenly (04:38) 5. Grey Everlasting (03:51) 6. White Sleep (04:22) 7. Immemorial (04:05) 8. Anno 2022 marks the tenth year of Deathwhite. The ensuing years have borne witness to the continued, if not expedited unraveling of humankind and the world in which it so harshly occupies. The 2020 global pandemic — an event of unimaginable magnitude — has amplified the worst in us. Cruelty, dishonesty, greed, obfuscation and selfishness are celebrated, worn as a badge of pride as the world burns figuratively and literally. Such was the environment of discontent and isolation that enigmatic dark metal quartet Deathwhite concocted its third full-length studio offering, Grey Everlasting. Utilizing the same team as 2020’s Grave Image, Grey Everlasting was recorded during May and June 2021 at Cerebral Audio Productions with producer/engineer Shane Mayer. Vocals were again tracked at Erik Rutan’s (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) Mana Recording under the guidance of engineer Art Paiz. Legendary Swedish producer and engineer Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge of Sanity, Nightingale) is responsible for the mastering, while French visual artist Jérôme Comentale reprised his role for the fourth consecutive Deathwhite release.
Written just as the global lockdown began in March 2020, Grey Everlasting is an album of diversity and depth. While the band’s clean vocal delivery set to the backdrop of unyielding dark metal remains ever-present, some new wrinkles are added to Deathwhite’s sound. Extreme metal elements — a reference to the band’s musical background — as well as heavy keyboard orchestration have been brought to the fore. The album also treads more atmospheric paths while staying true to Deathwhite’s melodic underpinnings. “We have grown accustomed to putting our songs under a microscope, but this album demanded an even deeper examination of where we wanted to go,” said the band collectively. “There was little interest in re-writing Grave Image; instead, we had to carve new paths and challenge ourselves musically. We were unafraid to try new things, so, accordingly, the creation process was occasionally arduous. However, it made the result something we are incredibly proud of.”
Lyrically, Grey Everlasting balances Deathwhite’s harsh view of the world with themes of self-preservation. It is a rare glimmer of light from a band that has regularly addressed the ills of humankind on previous albums. However, the onset of the global pandemic made Grey Everlasting an appropriate title. “The album’s lyrics were assembled throughout the pandemic, events that also included strife on the political and human rights front,” said the band. “As disheartening as these events were, they were hardly a surprise. The human race has had more than enough time to figure out how to coexist properly, but still cannot get it right…and it never will.”
Previously announced for August, it will now be on May 20th that LUCER will be back with their third album “The New World”!
On “The New World”, the pure rock sound that many know from Lucer’s debut album is accompanied by both electrobeats and sync effects – and that is exactly the common thread throughout the album. It’s the sound of rock a la 2022, and a band that has really found their DNA.
“On our new album, we still have the song writing in focus rather than the form and sound. This time we have teamed up with one of the most talented producers in Denmark to give the album exactly the universe and the common thread that was a bit missing on “Ghost Town”. We are both harder and at the same time more mainstream than ever before” says bassist, vocalist Lasse Bøgemark.
The new sound is largely due to the collaboration with producer Christoffer Stjerne (H.E.R.O.), who, according to Lucer, have a different approach in the studio than they have been used to. He is not shy on challenging the band and trying out new approaches, and that is exactly what has created “The New World”.
“The album has been created during lockdown, so it has been obvious for us to name it after the new world we all live in. The ball has come over on our side, and the 10 songs that are on the album are all an expression of Lucer has landed the place Lucer should be”, Lasse continues.
Like Lucer’s first two albums, the latest in the series is also created with live performances in mind. The Copenhagen rock band has made a name for themselves both at home and abroad with their explosive energy and amazing performances – and it does not stop with “The New World”. On the contrary. “The New World” is concocted by a more adult Lucer, who has found their own way after a few years of searching, and who is now finally ready to present it to the rest of the world – with the big scenes in the spotlight.“
“The New World” will be released by Mighty Music on CD and digital formats on May 20th, 2022. Pre-orders up now at this link.
He is one of the most indomitable guitar slingers of his generation. An unstoppable force of bold tone, electrifying musicianship and dynamic performance. No wonder he’s been able to persevere through numerous decades of musical fads and trends, staying true to his artform and calling. And now Pat Travers and his band steps forward once again with a blazing new single, “Push Yourself.”
Built around Travers’ trademark Fender Strat, “Push Yourself” crackles with intensity and bravado. The guitar playing is matched in grittiness and power by Travers’ own vocals, which ring out like a wakeup call to anyone thinking that this veteran blues rocker will be resting on his laurels.
As Travers himself puts it, “‘Push Yourself’ is a mantra I use when I need to get my ass in gear and get stuff done. Pretty simple.”
Also check out the killer video cut together for “Push Yourself,” which was assembled using recent live footage of Travers tearing up the stage intercut with scenes from the recent Lynyrd Skynyrd dramatization Street Survivors: The True Story Of The Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash.
In addition to the single being available on all digital platforms, it will also be pressed on limited edition RED 7” vinyl backed with another new cut “Full Spectrum” both of which are set to appear on Travers’ new studio album coming later this year!
