Mystic death metallers SYMBOLICAL – feat. Dariusz “Daray” Brzozowski – will release their new EP “Igne” on December 25th, which is the first part of three EP series.

Musically, “Igne” is a continuation of the death metal sound Symbolical carved out on their first two full-length albums “Collapse in Agony” and “Allegory of Death”. “Igne” tells the story of Jesus’ birth but not as popularly accepted… In “Igne”, Mary gives birth to Jesus the Antichrist, and condemns the world to destruction.

The band commented: “We wanted to portray the essence of Symbolical in a three-song formula. Rage and beauty are our favorite feelings, and we love to mess around with our listeners’ feelings. We think that this EP will surprise many people.”

“Igne” was recorded, mixed & mastered by JNS Studio / Pawel Janos, except the vocals which were recorded with Arnaud Ménard of Sicarius Productions. The cover artwork is painted by William Blake “Judas Betrays Him” c.1803–5. All music was composed by Cymer, and arranged by Symbolical, while all lyrics were written by Karol “Charles” Gozdzik.

“Igne” tracklist:

  1. The Call of Nazareth
  2. Epiphany & Revival
  3. Disciple of Death

BELPHEGOR Re-Release First Two Albums “The Last Supper” (1995) + “Blutsabbath” (1997) on January 14th

Next January, an ancient demon will crawl straight outta hell to gain fresh life in new shapes… But: That infernal creature won’t come alone but will be accompanied by its bat-winged twin with a soul as black as the depths from which it emerged.

Or, to make it a little more obvious: Austria’s Death Metal highpriests BELPHEGOR will release their first two albums, “The Last Supper” (1995) and “Blutsabbath” (1997), next year on Vinyl and together as 2CD. The records will be out on January 14th and you can pre-order your little piece of extreme metal history right here: https://nblast.de/Belphegor-ReReleases

Helmuth states:
“While we are finishing up a last couple of dates of  the “The Black Rituals“ tour, we’re proud to announce that we will unleash our earliest offerings upon the masses again! Both albums have been remastered by Andy Classen and will be available in a variety of versions featuring uncensored artwork. Enjoy the first chapters of Belphegor’s diabolical death metal signature sound!“

Better be quick and keep your eyes and ears open since BELPHEGOR already have new aces up their sleeves waiting to surprise and mesmerize their listeners in the next weeks…

BELPHEGOR was founded in 1993 and spread like a virus within the underground. Meanwhile, their »Bloodbath In Paradise« demo has become legendary and paved the baleful path into the souls of thousands of listeners. Anti-religious with nihilistic tendencies as well as provocative topics, BELPHEGORmoved on. The debut album »The Last Supper« (1995) let the community of followers and opponents grow. Inexorably, the band pushes their destructive ways forward in the following years. BELPHEGOR become louder, more obsessed and more dynamic, and their albums now have cult status. To think about the scene doesn’t work without thinking of BELPHEGOR. In 2008, the band sent their followers to the edge of hell with »Bondage Goat Zombie« and sparked an all-consuming Death Metal fire with blasting black metal influences. This masterpiece, inspired by the Marquis de Sade, is one of the most demanding works the genre has offered to this day. BELPHEGOR showed themselves equally brutal and baleful on the successors »Walpurgis Rites – Hexenwahn« (2009) and »Blood Magick Necromance« (2011). The band received a lot of great feedback for their intense live performances as well, and reached out to a big and loyal fan base.  Their obscure rituals full of diabolical magick have haunted the world several times – next to extensive tours through Asia and Europe, BELPHEGOR have also completed eleven tours through North America and hundreds of open airs.
Their last album “Totenritual“, internationally lauded by fans and press, dropped on September 15th 2017 and marks the eleventh hailing from BELPHEGOR.

KRIS BARRAS BAND Release New Lyric Video ‘These Voices’

KRIS BARRAS BAND have revealed a lyric video for ‘These Voices’, taken from the upcoming album “Death Valley Paradise”, set to be released on March 4th via Mascot Records / Mascot Label Group.

Death Valley Paradise started life as a song before it was dissected and spread across the album. Death Valley is a place of extremes, where living things are said to not be able to survive. Kris Barras says, “To survive and thrive in those circumstances and find your paradise in it. For me, it sums up the journey I’ve been through. As a musician, you were put into a place where it was hard to survive, and you had to do different things to keep it moving.”

Produced by Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Bury Tomorrow, SiKth) and recorded at VADA Studios in Alcester, they return darker, more introspective but enormous at the same time. “These Voices,” perfect encapsulates this side of Barras. The song opens with the lyrics, “In my head, turning deaf from the silence. Abandoned hope, all alone, I’m lost in a crowd, and I’m burning out,” as it builds to the anthemic chorus, “scream out distant memories, they’re reminding me I should let go.”

This is one of the self-penned songs on the album and talking about it Barras says: “This song is one of my favourites from the album and perhaps one of the most personal to me. I wrote this over the Xmas period of 2020 and it’s about those niggling voices that you get in your head. The one’s that tell you, you can’t do something, the one’s that make you second guess every decision you make. We love playing this one live, the riff is always a classic head banging moment of the set!”

You can watch the video here:

You can also pre-order the album here http://smarturl.it/KBB

Elsewhere on the album Barras began collaborating with songwriters for the first time, such as the heavyweights; Jonny Andrews (Three Days Grace, Fozzy), Bob Marlette (Alice Cooper, Airbourne, Rob Zombie), Blair Daly (Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry) and Zac Maloy (Shinedown, Tyler Bryant).

The albums high voltage calling card is “My Parade” – the bands’ protest song. “It says this is my parade, but it’s collective, it’s our parade,” Barras says. “This is my life, and this is how I’m gonna live it and if you don’t like it. Fuck off.” Album opener and first single, “Dead Horses”,  shakes the foundations delving into broken relationships.

The band features a new rhythm section of Billy Hammett (Drums) and Kelpie Mackenzie (Bass) along with Kris Barras (Lead Vocals/Guitar) and Josiah J. Manning (Rhythm Guitars/ Vocals).

Track list

  1. Dead Horses
  2. Long Gone
  3. My Parade
  4. These Voices
  5. Who Needs Enemies
  6. Devil You Know
  7. Wake Me When It’s Over
  8. Hostage
  9. Cigarettes and Gasoline
  10. Bury Me
  11. Chaos

Singer Hansi Kürsch comments:
“Deliver Us From Evil is representative of a thoroughly aggressive album. I don’t want to promise too much by claiming that the upcoming long player, that is due to be released next year, will contain nothing but strong tracks and shall be a highlight of our career, yet I am sure the album will make a lot of people very, very happy.”

BLIND GUARDIAN are one of those unique and special bands that stand for absolute perfection, creativity and passion since they formed in 1984. Delivering a fascinating mixture of opulent bombast, progressive complexity and symphonic beauty. BLIND GUARDIAN established their style a long time ago but  have never stagnated – always remaining open-minded and adventurous. This is why BLIND GUARDIAN are always ahead of the times!

HANGMAN´S CHAIR Contribute Theme Song ‘Judge Penitent’ to JOEYSTARR’s Podcast “Gang Stories”

Known for traversing borders and experimenting with contradictions and taboos, HANGMAN’S CHAIR recently contributed track ‘Judge Penitent’ to rap legend JOEYSTARR‘s Deezer France exclusive podcast ‘Gang Stories’. Shedding light on the incredible lives of gang chiefs and shady personalities of the criminal underworld, the podcast deals with the dark side of humanity – and HANGMAN’S CHAIR managed to artfully portray this dark atmosphere and put this into music.

Stream or download the song here: https://hangmanschair.bfan.link/judge-penitent.ema

The band states about “Judge Penitent”:
“We are thrilled to contribute to the Gang Stories Podcast by JoeyStarr. It’s a podcast that tells the journey of people with incredible destinies, such as the Crips’ Stanley “Tookie” Williams, or the gang chief of Rio, William Da Silva Lima, and many more, all narrated by JoeyStarr.
For the 5th season, we have written a song, but also the theme music to accompany the exploration of the darker side of the human soul and the discovery of the great outdoors via the history of Maurice “Mom” Boucher of the Quebec Hells Angels.
It is a very special song to us, it’s one that sums up all of our different elements, and one that we feel portrays the atmosphere of such a unique tale.
If you have already listened to Gang Stories, you know the gist of it: every society has the criminals it deserves.
A huge thank you to JoeyStarr and Deezer for their trust and for giving us the chance to play a part in such a project.”

Podcast host JoeyStarr adds:
“If you listen to the Gang Stories podcast, you know the gist of it: every society has the criminals it deserves.
In the 5th season, I’m taking you on the roads of North America to tell you the story of Maurice “Mom” Boucher and of the Quebec Hells Angels.
Bikers’ road trips have always been soundtracked by the drum beats and saturated guitars from the Beat Generation, with a dose of psychedelic rock and heavy metal.
To create the music for this season, calling on Hangman’s Chair seemed like an obvious choice. These guys are used to taking us through dark atmospheres, which isn’t that easy in France. There’s no better fit to help us delve into the dark sides of the human soul and explore the great outdoors.”

The band recently announced the release of their new album “A Loner” to be out on February 11th via Nuclear Blast Records.
The album is the sixth record of the Parisienne outlet balancing confidently between the wilful sound of intensive new wave influences and modern rock.

HANGMAN’S CHAIR, formed in 2005 in Paris, are one of the most unique sounding Doom Rock bands currently active. Through the years, they have found and fine-tuned their own sonic brand, somewhere at the crossroads between Type O Negative, Life Of Agony and Sisters of Mercy, to name a few, mixed with a certain street credibility connected to the group’s roots in hardcore. Each album takes its strength and essence from the band members’s life experiences, which they portrait with unflinching honesty. Whether it is the loss of band members, drug overdoses or the hardships of living in suburban Paris, all those human emotions resonate within each of their songs asthey embrace the darkness and transform it into something beautiful, heavy and melancholic.

SYLOSIS Display Insurmountable Force with New Single ‘Immovable Stone’

Premiere thrash outfit SYLOSIS have released a video for their brand new single ‘Immovable Stone’. Another prime example of the quartet’s uniquely exhilarating take on modern metal, ‘Immovable Stone’ is the band’s first release since the furious ‘Worship Decay’ last December.

Sylosis founder Josh Middleton comments “Immovable Stone is the second song released from a recording session we did last year which includes Worship Decay (released December 2020) and one other song which will remain unreleased due to it accidentally being wiped from existence on a broken hard drive. Another slightly different sounding song to anything on Cycle of Suffering. A nice way to tie off 2021 and keep things moving forwards ahead of a new Sylosis record in 2022.”

The band’s latest record, ‘Cycle Of Suffering’, was released back in February 2020 via Nuclear Blast Records, following a three year hiatus, and showcased the band at their most versatile and compelling. The album was heralded by fans and critics alike, and saw the band headline a sold out show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall prior to the ceasing of live events.
