Long-time bassist for multi-platinum rockers QUIET RIOT, Chuck Wright, proudly presents the release of the first single from his new solo album. Wright has also worked alongside such rock music luminaries as Alice Cooper, Greg Allman, Ted Nugent, various members of Guns N’ Roses and Kiss to name a few, and now embarks on his first-ever solo excursion.
The first single is a hard-rocking, intense interpretation of Björk’s 1995 hit “Army of Me” and is accompanied by a video that represents Wright’s exploration into disorder and parallels with the recent chaotic state of world affairs. The visuals include a 3D animation of an “army” of Ruth Bader Ginsburgs, the late Supreme Court Justice, feminist icon, and steadfast advocate for women’s rights and gender equality. “I chose to recognize the late Justice Ginsburg in this video as she was such a formidable presence on and off the bench. She challenged the status quo knocking down legal obstacles to women’s equality and inspired an army of believers.”
The track “Army Of Me” features several of Wright’s musical peers including the late Pat Torpey (Mr. Big) on drums, guitarist Lanny Cordola (House of Lords), and Sven Martin (Jonathan Davis Band) on keyboards along with songstress Whitney Tai, the recent “Best Vocalist” winner at The Intercontinental Music Awards.
The full-length album from Chuck Wright’s Sheltering Sky, coming in 2022, features over 30 guest performers including members of Mr. Big, Skid Row, Tesla, Dream Theater, Great White, Asia, Jefferson Starship, acclaimed solo artists Allen Hinds, Toshi Yanagi, and many others. Wright is finally stepping out on his own with a wide range of genres, from Jazz Fusion, Prog, Funk to in-your-face Hard Rock, which was in itself one of the things that led him to want to forge his own way and create this unique collection of songs within his “Sheltering Sky” project.
Polish rock/metal/punk combo BLACK RIVER – feat. BEHEMOTH bass player ORION and DIMMU BORGIR drummer DARAY – will release their new single ‘Crossover Love’ digitally on December 7th, via Crusader Records / Golden Robot Records.
The label stated “BLACK RIVER’s hard-hitting single ‘Crossover Love’ came together through the band’s shared anger at the state of the world; one in which people are starving, species are dying out, and in many places there is nothing to breathe and yet the so-called civilisation doesn’t care about anything other than earning money at all costs. ‘Crossover Love’ is ferocious, whilst not sacrificing melody and it drives BLACK RIVER into new territory.”
BLACK RIVER are set to release their new album ‘Generation aXe‘ in 2022. More information TBA.

The Lurking Fear lead guitarist Jonas Stålhammar commented about the track as follows: “Here’s another song off “Death, Madness, Horror, Decay” for you. This time we decided to go for a heavier one, because you do need some heaviness too, not only speed!”
And Stålhammar added the following about today’s album release: “Death, Madness, Horror, Decay” drops today and we feel this, our 2nd album, to be big step up from our debut “Out Of The Voiceless Grave”. More focused and more brutal. We’re really psyched for you all to hear it…”

Orange County-based Hardcore titans IGNITE are back with the first single from their upcoming self-titled album! The new track, titled “The River”, is a high-energy affair that addresses the heavy subject matter of the toll felt by those who struggle with the US immigration system. Speaking about the lyrical themes on their new single, the band comments, “‘The River’ takes a look at the dark and murky immigration issues that our country is facing at this very moment and the toll it is taking on children and their families.”

THE OCEAN have released the third video from their upcoming live album Phanerozoic Live (November 26th). The live album is a showcase of two live events performed by THE OCEAN – Live In Bremen (Part I) and Live At Roadburn Redux (Part II), and will be released by Metal Blade Records digitally worldwide. Fans eager for physical copies can pre-order the album in various formats at Pelagic Records.

Phanerozoic Part II – Live At Roadburn Redux: 01. Triassic 02. Jurassic | Cretaceous 03. Palaeocene 04. Eocene 05. Oligocene 06. Miocene | Pliocene 07. Pleistocene 08. Holocene
In early 2021 with no end of lockdowns in sight, THE OCEAN decided to thank their fans for the support with two streaming concerts, performing both Phanerozoic albums in their entirety: Phanerozoic I was streamed live from Pier 2, a big hall in the port of Bremen, Germany on March 25, 2021. With more than 1,500 tickets sold, it was the most successful show of the popular “Club 100” streaming events series thus far.
The day after this event, the band rehearsed and recorded Phanerozoic II in its entirety. This performance aired on April 16th as part of the digital edition of Roadburn Festival (this year aptly named Roadburn Redux). Both shows couldn’t have been more different: where the first part boasts with a pompous, mesmerizing lighting production on a big stage, the second part is quite the opposite: intimate, almost cozy, focused on musicianship rather than performance. “We wanted to give people two totally different experiences“, says band leader Robin Staps. “In Bremen, we had the chance to record a proper live show, the way people know us. We played facing towards the front of the stage, to an invisible crowd, essentially to a huge empty room… but we knew people were watching, even if we didn’t see them. There was the same rush of adrenaline right before going on stage as you get before going on any stage, maybe with a little extra anxiety added, because knowing that so many people are watching you without being able to see them yourself was super weird.“
The fans response to these special events was another testimony to how much THE OCEAN connect with their crowd at home in this very intense way was an experience that was “oddly beautiful and frustrating in equal measure,” according to Staps. Now as restrictions begin to lift worldwide, THE OCEAN are more than ready to show fans in-person the power of Phanerozoic Live, with select shows starting this January.
