RockPoser.com discussing THE 450s, “The 450s really do have something special going on!”

THE 450s is a new American Rock band featuring The Rods’ Carl Canedy on drums. The line-up is completed by James Jacobs (St. James) on guitar, Robert Jacobs (St. James) on bass, Ryan Sambrook on keyboards and Rhett, a veteran of major labels, on vocals.

When the quartet got together in Miami at the time the chemistry was effortless, the resultant songs so strong that they caught the ear of legendary producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Patti Smith), who went the extra mile in mixing the album, highlighting The 450’s inherent musical tension and dynamics. Chris Collier (Korn, Prong) also worked on the mixing/production, helping to hone the “modern” part of The 450’s “modern vintage” vibe.

The 450s bring an old-school band ethic to bear: No resting on laurels, no copping styles from their forefathers; no pre-fab or pre-conceived anything. “We got together in a room and turned everything up real loud,” they explain. “We jammed and recorded what came out. Ultimately, it’s “about creating this group of songs out of nowhere for no reason other than it’s what we all love to do.”

Italian Horror Metal Masters DEATH SS Premiere ‘The Temple of the Rain’ Video

Under the guidance of legendary frontman Steve Sylvester, Italian horror metal masters DEATH SS return with “Ten”, a new observation on death and darkness. With their tenth full-length album, due out on October 29th 2021 via Lucifer Rising Records, DEATH SS keep offering their own personal blend of horror metal: esoteric, occult music where spontaneity and attitude are the most important values.

The album’s ten tracks orchestrate a sinister mass of sinful abandon full of creepy tales, gloomy stories with somewhat funny twists. It will make the listeners quiver and shiver, with a grin on the face.

The band has premiered the album’s final single at Decibel Magazine. Watch the video of “The Temple of the Rain” at THIS LOCATION!

“X”, the number ten in the Roman numerical system, chosen to name this album, is not a random title.
The number Ten symbolizes perfection, as well as the cancellation of all things.
10 = (1 + 0) = 1, illustrates the eternal starting over.
Ten is the total of the first four numbers (and in our case the first four Albums / Seals) and therefore contains within itself the entirety of the universal and artistic principles contained in each of them.
It corresponds to the Pythagorean Tetraktys which, together with  Seven (the total number of musical / magical seals of our pact), is considered the most important number, as it is formed by the sum of the first four  (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10), thus expressing the totality, the fulfillment, the final realization…! The number 10 is divine because it is perfect, as it brings together in a new unity all the principles expressed in the numbers (or albums) from one to nine.
Esoterically the symbolism of the decade represents the perfection relative to the circular space-time, or the divine immanence.
Ten indicates the change that allows the initiate to evolve, grow and rise spiritually.
It is the symbol of the totality of the represented reality.
From a religious point of view it recalls the number of commandments that God entrusted to Moses on Mount Sinai.
It contains the Unity that made everything and zero, a symbol of matter and of the Chaos from which everything came out.
It therefore includes in its likeness the created and the non-created, the beginning and the end, the power and the strength, the life and the nothingness.
There are also ten circles, the Sefiroth of the Tree of Life.
In the Tarot the number Ten, which in the Major Arcana corresponds to the Wheel of Fortune (Arcane X) and to Judgment (Arcanum XX), represents the end of a cycle of experiences and heralds a new beginning.
Finally in Dante’s Inferno, the tenth canto takes place in the sixth circle, in the city of Dite, where heretics are punished, that is, the rebels, the free spirits intolerant of Dogma, those who choose to take themselves out of the ordinary way, to  which this work is dedicated. – Steve Sylvester

Ten long years after their last studio album, Don’t Talk Science, legendary hard rock band VICTORY has announced their return to the scene with a brand new album, entitled Gods of Tomorrow, which will be out on November 26, 2021 through powerhouse label AFM Records!

The iconic band, formed in 1984, is one of the most distinctive hard’n’heavy acts and – beside Scorpions, Accept and Helloween – one of the most successful German groups, played countless arena and festival shows all over the world and released ten chart-breaking records to date. After several line-up changes and years on hiatus, in 2003 VICTORY announced their reunion. Don’t Talk Science, released in 2011, was the latest record to feature the nucleus of the original line-up. But guitarist Herman Frank, who was also a longtime member of Accept, never gave up the idea of continuing with VICTORY once more. Newborn, heavier and stronger than ever, this Fall they will finally return, featuring a high class line-up consisting of Frank on guitar, vocalist Gianni Pontillo, guitarist Mike Pesin, Malte Frederik Burkert on bass and drummer Michael Stein.

VICTORY‘s exceptional talents prove that they can be the gods of today and also of tomorrow, but one can be sure, these new, thirteen album tracks will take you on a wild ride of unexpected power and classic rock grandeur!

After previously- released singles, “Cut To The Bone” as well as the album title track ( which came with 2 killer video clips ), the band has just premiered a brand new single alongside a music video! Incredibly energetic and soulful at the same time, the song “Love & Hate” describes the inner turmoil of a toxic coexistence. Power and the abuse of power – delivered in VICTORY‘s hard rock brilliance, culminating in an extremely catchy chorus.

Listen to “Love & Hate” here:

Guitar mastermind Herman Frank recently commented: “An infinitely exciting and turbulent journey makes a stopover with the new Victory album ‘Gods Of Tomorrow’. But the whole story is far from being told yet…“ Fans of the band will be excited to hear that, as the legend of VICTORY continues.
And it’s unquestionable, Gods of Tomorrow will prove they still own their place at the top of the best hard rock bands of all time!

Interview with Nameless, GHOST BATH: “It felt like the right time to make that change”

Interview By Alison Booth

Us depressive black metallers GHOST BATH have unleashed their fourth album “Self Loather” on the world today – October 29th! The album, released via Nuclear Blast, closes out the trilogy – tragedy, ecstasy, and dread/hatred – and hosts the band’s most devastating and dark music to date.

Metal Shock Finland’s Alison Booth caught up with frontman Nameless for her radio show Blackdiamond’s Metal Mayhem, which is broadcast every Tuesday from 6PM GMT on UK station TotalRock. The show featuring GHOST BATH will soon be available to listen to here.

The new album and its recording was discussed, along with a few more topics. You can check out the audio interview below, along with some written excerpts from the chat.

Discussing “Self Loather”, Nameless explained:

“I had this trilogy planned before I even recorded Moonlover, back in 2015.So the overall theme was dread and hatred, it was always supposed to be the darkest and heaviest album that we’ve done and there’s a few things that were kinda major changes for this album. In particular, one of the biggest ones was the entire band helped write the album, whereas every previous Ghost Bath album, it was just me writing all the music, doing all the vocals by myself. And with this one, all five members were incorporated and we all wrote it together.

I think the second biggest change, at least on my part, was the vocal style and I really changed things up and I did more of a black metal vocals, I did more of lower death metal growls and I also do sort of a depressive black metal high pitch vocals as well and I mix it up a lot more.”

On the subject of the change of vocals:

“You know, I think first and foremost, they just fit with the theme of the album a bit more – it just made it heavier in my opinion. And then second of all, I think it was just time for a change. I don’t wanna record the same album over and over and do the same things over and over, so you know, it was time for me to push myself. I had to figure out how to do these types of vocals, it wasn’t just something that came naturally to me.

I had to really prepare my throat and make sure I was hydrated and I was warming up and all of that, just to make sure it could sound right. It just felt right, it felt like the right time to make that change and I also definitely wanted to keep the high pitched Ghost Bath vocals in there, because that’s I think part of our sound and part of the depressive black metal sound. It’s kind of an experimentation and moving forward as a band.”

Looking ahead to the future:

“It’s just a passion project for me, you know I’m not trying to get rich or anything. I think experiences are very important for me and putting out the music I create and the creation process. Those are all the most important things for me and so I think the main things are touring, to be able to get back on the road and travel, I love doing that. I love playing live and then also to continue to write music.

So, if we can’t really get any good tours or anything, we’ll probably just start writing the next album right away. Even if we do start touring, we’ve already been talking about another album, that’s kinda the plan.”
