THE FREQUENCY CONSPIRACY, the new project by 24-7 Spyz, Seventrain, Shockhead drummer, Joel Maitoza – featuring members of Last in Line, Lynch Mob, Raven, Pat Travers Band, Tyketto and many others – has officially announced the nine song track listing for the debut album titled “Quarantine Covers” which will be released worldwide on January 1st, 2022 (New Years Day) through So Cal Records / Alliance Entertainment.

Joel explains, “When the pandemic hit, bands stopped touring and the world shut down. I decided to contact some musicians I’ve always wanted to work with and record an album of cover tunes with a hard rock/metal vibe. The songs are some “hand-picked” favorites of mine that I thought everyone involved could have some fun with and the fans would enjoy hearing. It all started releasing two videos in 2020 featuring Last in Line/Lynch Mob vocalist Andrew Freeman and it just took off from there. I recorded the drum tracks in the studio by myself without any music, just a click track and the arrangement in my head. Then I sent the tracks out to the individual musicians I wanted to have perform on the songs. The artists recorded their parts in their own home studios and sent them back to me. It was really cool to hear how each musician interpreted and performed their parts and the songs just evolved. The creative process was absolutely fascinating and I think we captured some amazing performances on this album.”

Punk Legends DAYGLO ABORTIONS Release “What_s For Breakfast” Track

Well it’s that time of the week again, Canadian Punk Legends DAYGLO ABORTIONS have released their next single – “What_s For Breakfast” from their upcoming album “Hate Speech” and premiere via V13.  the track can be heard here.

Murray adds – “This is about the trap a parent gets into when their child gets addicted to opioids. Do you let your kid suffer, or do you buy them some junk. It is a much harder choice than you might imagine.”

This album is dedicated to the people that helped us make it. Scott Bennet and Scott Henderson, for essentially talking me into making it, then offering their studio (the lap of luxury) so we could do the pre-praductlon Work while in the middle of Covid-19 induced lock-downs. Then Rob lawless, and Terry Paholek, for allowing us io Invade their studio (The physics lab) in Edmonton Alberta, and for the brilliant work the did making it sound so good. Next is Matt Jak and Sherry Benson, and family, for inviting us into their home and putting us up in Edmonton. And finally Tyson Cale Boyd and the people at The Starlight for putting on the show that paid our travel expanses. Well why the fuck stop there, The Edmonton Jak’s for always rocking out with us, and all of you for supporting through the years. Cheers to all of you.

LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT Announced As Guest Lead Vocalist For COLDBOUND

Juno nominated singer/songwriter LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT has been revealed as the guest lead vocalist for the upcoming album by COLDBOUND. 

Lindsay comments:

“Thank you for welcoming me to the realm of Coldbound. I’ve so far had a wonderful experience being the guest lead vocalist on this double album. I very much look forward to its release in the future!

Many of you in the metal world know me from my 7 years with Cradle of Filth. I am also the main composer for Chamber Black Metal band Antiqva and have lent out my voice and playing to many songs and albums over the years. Mainly for voice, harp, and piano.

This will be my first guest feature where I am the lead singer on a full album. Pauli and Meiju approached me after they heard my Juno Nominated album “Martyr” and felt I would be a good fit for crafting melodies and lyrics.

I’m honoured to be part of this project with such a talented line up and list of guest musicians and singers. I can not wait to see how it all comes together. It’s really forming into something special.”

Band founder Pauli Souka further stated:

“To work with someone like Lindsay is a true blessing, as she shows immense professionalism and a superb attitude. I am definitely excited to share with all of you the results of this -one of a kind collaborative experience.”

HEAVEN SHALL BURN Announce 15 Years Anniversary Vinyl Re-Issue of “Deaf To Our Prayers” on March 4th

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of their album “Deaf To Our Prayers”, HEAVEN SHALL BURN announce the release of a vinyl re-issue of this timeless genre classic.

Remastered for vinyl by the band’s very own Alexander Dietz, this masterpiece, which was originally released in 2006, will be available on March 4th, 2022, as Gatefold LP featuring special liner notes and comes with a new track running order for an ideal vinyl side split.

The band states, “After the international success of ‘Antigone’, for the first time we felt something like pressure from expectation while working on the new record. We all were very busy with our school and studies at that time. Yet Alex had already integrated himself very well into the band and immediately took on an important role in the pre-production and recording.

Although the expectations of labels and fans were quite high, we were not aware of how important DTOP should be in retrospect.

Songs from DTOP are an indispensable part of an HSB live show today and the opener ‘Counterweight’ is an example of the musical influences and the attitude of the band. We are still very proud of the record and hope you have as much fun with the great gatefold vinyl as we do!“

Swedish black/death metal pioneers NECROPHOBIC, announce that their highly acclaimed album “Hrimthursum”, which was originally released in 2006, is digitally available again on all streaming and download platforms as of now. A Ltd. CD Jewelcase in slipcase and a Gatefold LP version with double-sided poster will be released through Century Media Records on February 11th, 2022.

New York City black metal collective BLACK ANVIL have announced several live U.S. and Canadian performances in support of IMMOLATION! The run will kick off on March 15 in Detroit and will conclude with the band’s homecoming in New York City on March 19.
