Prosthetic Records is excited to announce the signing of ETERNITY’S END. The European technical power metal band have today unveiled plans to release their third full length album, Embers Of War, due out on November 26. Accompanying the announcement ETERNITY’S END are currently premiering the album’s lead single, Arcturus Prime, alongside a guitar playthrough over at Gear Gods.

Speaking on the signing announcement, the band comment: “Signing with Prosthetic Records marks the beginning of a new chapter for Eternity’s End. There are many bands on the label that we are fans of or friends with, and it happens right at the time we move Eternity’s End from an online project into a real band that will also play live shows and tour. Now that there seems to be a renaissance of classic heavy metal and power metal, especially in the US, we feel that Prosthetic is the perfect label to work with for us and we are looking forward to this collaboration very much!”

Of Arcturus Prime, the band adds: “We chose Arcturus Prime to be the first single for the album as we feel it summarizes everything that we are about as band, which is a totally over the top approach to the music with an exaggerated amount of hyper technical twin guitar harmonies and aggressive riffing, solo trade offs combined with very high pitched soaring vocals, intense drumming and even light speed shredding on the bass. Lyrically this song tells a science fiction story based in the far distant future where a hegemony of planets across the galaxy form a governmental entity and are connected through teleportation networks, which are controlled by an artificial intelligence that has developed over centuries into a god like entity with powers far beyond human understanding and control. The album’s cover art was hand painted in acrylic by Dimitar Nikolov. It represents a scene from the title track. The idea is to represent that mix of sword and sorcery aesthetics with sci fi elements as we also have in the lyrics.”

Formed in 2014 by guitarist and songwriter Christian Muenzner (Obscura, Paradox, Alkaloid, ex-Necrophagist), ETERNITY’S END have been through a series of line up changes on their way to perfecting their sound as well as evolving into a band that would logistically be able to tour. To date the band has released two critically acclaimed studio albums, one of which was financed through crowdfunding.

With a refreshed line up onboard, the band set to work on what would become Embers Of War. The album features twin guitar solos reminiscent of Racer X and Cacophony, and bombastic choruses in the vein of Iron Savior and Blind Guardian. Combined with theatrics and story-telling chops that would make King Diamond proud, the results are nothing short of fantastical.

Embers Of War was written between November 2019 and October 2020 before being recorded between October 2020 and May 2021. The album was produced by Christian Muenzner and Hannes Grossmann and mixed and mastered by Hannes Grossmann at Mordor Sound studios. The choirs were provided by Piet Sielck and Jan Sören Eckert of German power metal veterans Iron Savior.

Embers of War’s eight songs bear all the hallmarks of a future classic of the genre and are bound to lead listeners into a world full of magical wonder, far from their daily realities.

Embers of War tracklist:

1. Dreadnought (The Voyage of the Damned)
2. Bane of the Blacksword
3. Hounds of Tindalos
4. Call of the Valkyries
5. Arcturus Prime
6. Shaded Heart
7. Deathrider
8. Embers of War

Norwegian melodic hardcore quintet HALCYON DAYS unleash their new single and music video “Better Days”! Get your day kickstarted & listen to the single here https://orcd.co/hdbetterdays and watch the music video HERE.

Energetic as always, Halcyon Days deliver their newest output, which is another melodic hardcore banger. The aggressive attitude of their sound takes the best out of metalcore’s breakdown affinity and atmospheric layers that might remind you of genre leaders like Architects, While She Sleeps, and Our Hollow, Our Home.

The drive of “Better Days” is irresistible and won’t let you keep your feet still. On top of that, there’s an intriguing comic-style video underlining the vibe of this new single. Without any doubt, Halcyon Days know how to write catchy hooks on top of melodic guitar lines and make their songs sound as huge as possible. All of this culminates in heavy-hitting breakdown sections and stirring ambiance, and a sound that can be described as post-metalcore.

As the band comments on the single: “Better Days is a fast-paced and heavy track about escaping your own personal darkness, being able to open up to the people around you about it, and thanking them for their patience and support.”

“Better Days” is the third single off the upcoming “Keep Myself From Sinking”, which will be released on November 5th via Indie Recordings!

Based out of Oslo, Norway, Halcyon Days are a hard-hitting melodic metal band.  Since their beginning in 2012, they have released two EP’s, and two albums.
Their debut album ‘.ELEVATE’ was frequently playlisted and recommended on Norway’s national radio, NRK P3. Two years after their debut album, they released their self-titled EP in 2016, scoring more than 350k total streams on digital platforms.

The EP was met with an amazing response worldwide, putting the band on the map outside of Norway. The band signed with Indie Recordings and released their second full-length album, with the title “Rain Soaked Pavements & Fresh Cut Grass” June 15 2018. Metal Trenches (US) stated that the album is “one of the better metalcore releases of the year”, while PureGrainAudio (CAN) defined it as “a superb example of melodic metal/hardcore.”

The release hit 1 Million streams on Spotify and landed the band their first big shows outside of Norway at festivals like Summer Breeze Open Air, Reeperbahn Festival and High Five Summerfest. The band have been working with legendary names in Metal as Daniel Bergstrand, Fredrik Thordendal and Henrik Udd for their upcoming third full-length album due Nov 5th, 2021 via Indie Recordings.

Fargo, ND, based instrumental rockers EL SUPREMO have inked a worldwide deal with Argonauta Records, who will release the band’s third album in early 2022.

EL SUPREMO was originally formed as a one-man project with Chad Heille playing all the instruments and handling recording/production. A self-titled full-length demo was released in 2008, with Tom Canning and Neal Stein contributing guitar solos. Their most recent album, Clarity Through Distortion, was released in 2019 and features Chad Heille on drums and bass, Neal Stein on guitar and Chris Gould on organ/keys. Influenced by classic and stoner rock, blues and old-school metal, the band‘s vibrant sound ranges from psychedelic and melodic to heavy and doomy.

Chad and Neal went on to play in the band Egypt from 2012 to 2018. During that time, they released three full-length records, a split LP, made numerous compilation appearances, reissued their first demo and toured 16 different countries playing several notable festivals. After Egypt split, they decided to revive the EL SUPREMO name and now backed by Cameron Dewald on bass, they are currently working on their new album for a 2022 release through Argonauta Records.

Says the band: “El Supremo is stoked to be teaming up with Argonauta Records. The last year was a bit of a trial but, we are primed and ready to deliver our best record yet!”

OVERKILL ‘The Atlantic Years 1986 -1994’ Vinyl + CD Box To Be Released On October 29th

An integral part of the early-’80s thrash metal movement that spawned acts like Metallica and Anthrax, New Jersey’s OVERKILL garnered a reputation for brutal, pounding speed and technique. Taking their moniker from the 1979 Motörhead album of the same name, an early demo; Power in Black, made waves in the underground tape-trading circuit and caught the attention of Megaforce Records, which issued the band’s full-length studio debut, Feel the Fire, in 1985. High-profile shows alongside luminaries like Slayer and Anthrax followed, and with the American thrash scene in full tilt, Overkill inked a major-label deal with Atlantic, which put out their sophomore effort, 1987’s uncompromising Taking Over. This was followed quickly in 1988 by the equally uncompromising, Under The Influence which spawned the MTV hit, ‘Hello From The Gutter’. Continuing their breakneck pace, the band issued the Terry Date -produced Years of Decay the following year in 1989, which saw them pushing their sound in a more epic direction, while maintaining the neck-snapping attack of their debut. Expanding their lineup to a five piece in 1990 they released the brooding and relentlessly heavy Horrorscope, which introduced elements of doom into the mix and would go on to become a defining release and fan favorite. Overkill continued to move toward a more epic Sabbath style on 1993’s I Hear Black but switched up again on 1994’s W.F.O. which marked a return to the whiplash-inducing thrash of the past.

Overkill are held in high regard as one of the true greats of the global metal scene, one they dominate to this day. These six albums cemented Overkill in the thrash hall of fame, while contributing to their 16 million record sales, notched up over the last 40 years and are all considered stone cold classics.

All six of these albums are back on vinyl for the first time in over a decade. Half speed mastered for dynamic range and pressed on 180g vinyl. Also available as a CD collectors box.

The black metal crusaders in GOAT TORMENT return with ‘Forked Tongues,’ their first new album/release in over 6 years. A blast furnace of primal satanic fury, delivering a savage onslaught!

GOAT TORMENT was formed in 2008 by Kwel and K.J. with the intention to create music as a weapon of mass destruction and to annihilate everything which the so-called society stands for. For a start Kwel was supposed to play bass and K.J. would handle the vocals. But they didn’t find a guitarist who fitted with the ideology on a serious level. Thus Kwel decided to handle all the guitar parts and K.J.. started to play bass. After some months of research, the band recruited drummer Perversor. Then the band released a 4-track demo tape, released in 2009 through Terrorghoul Productions from Austria. The reactions were tremendous and bigger labels contacted the band interested to release the future offerings of GOAT TORMENT.

At this point, the band shared stages all over Europe with bands such as Grave Miasma, Hell Militia, Enthroned, Black Crucifixion, Black Witchery, The Devil’s blood…to name but a few. At the beginning of 2010 GOAT TORMENT had to part ways with drummer Perversor due to musical differences. During the early days of April 2010 a new burning entity was found: S. claimed the throne behind the battery. The Death wielding Trinity of GOAT TORMENT was complete. New songs were written, gigs were played and blood was shed.

Exactly one year later, the band entered the infamous Blackout Studio in Brussels (BE) to record some tracks for two upcoming releases: A 7” split EP with The Beast which was released at the beginning of 2012 and later that year another 7” EP , called “Into The Mouth of the Serpent”. Directly after the split EP was released, Kwel an S. decided to part ways with K.J.. due to different views about their future. In that moment GT decided to go on as a duet recruiting session members for live-shows.

The band returned to Blackout Studio in the fall of 2012 to record their first full-length album ‘Dominande Tenebrae’ ,which was released in February 2013 by Amor Fati Productions from Germany. After a year of a few European shows, the band had their first live appearance on American soil (Maryland Deathfest XII). The band had plans to go on as a four piece, but that didn’t work out because of different views. A South American tour was planned for August 2014 with the Belgian maniacs of ENTHRONED, but the two bands were forced to cancel one month before due to the irresponsible promoter.

In September 2014, S. decided to leave the band, due to other personal priorities and having no time anymore for drumming. It didn’t take long for Kwel to find somebody to take over the hammers. A new era began and Torturer (Mor Dagor, Bethlehem, ex-Belphegor) joined GOAT TORMENT as a new full member, so the duo was complete again. The band returned to Blackout Multimedia Studio in the beginning of 2015 to record their second full-length album.

In the summer of 2015, ‘Sermons To Death’ was released by Amor Fati Productions. The band toured the US West Coast in October 2015, accompanied by Saroth and Vagus Nox as live members. Shortly after, Vagus Nox joined forces to write new material. At the end of 2020, the third studio album ‘Forked Tongues’ had been completed.

The new offering delivers ultraheavy darkening passages that only serve to temper the relentless blasting speed. ‘Forked Tongues’ is musical punishment writ large, and sounds as if forged in the crucible of hell!

LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT Guests on CANCER BATS’ “Hail The Acoustic Destroyer”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 26, 2021

Juno nominated singer/Songwriter LINDSAY SCHOOLCRAFT is honored to have been featured as a guest vocalist on “Hail The Acoustic Destroyer” by legendary Canadian hardcore band CANCER BATS. The song is from the band’s upcoming EP You’ll Never Break Us: Separation Sessions. All proceeds raised via the band’s Bandcamp, as well as, a portion of the proceeds from shirt sales will be donated to Water First NGO, an organization that helps to train interns in water purification in order to help their communities have access to clean drinking water.

Lindsay commented “CANCER BATS are underground kings as far as the hardcore punk scene goes so I was a bit perplexed when Liam reached out asking me to collab on a track. Once he told me it was an acoustic version of ‘Hail Destroyer’ I was like “ok, that makes more sense”. Their acoustic releases over the pandemic have been a real treat and I highly recommend checking them out!”

The band further commented ““For Hail The Acoustic Destroyer we all really wanted to capture the same energy and tension of the song but using a completely different approach from the original,” shares lead vocalist Liam Cormier. “Looking more at it being sparse and looming to convey the “heaviness”. Once that ground work was laid, having Lindsay Schoolcraft’s amazing goth tinged vocals on the track really pushes the song into a new melodic dimension, making the listener forget what the original Hail Destroyer even was.”
