The international power metal formation SERIOUS BLACK return with their fastest and most imaginative work so far.
One of the new songs on Serious Black’s upcoming studio album ‘Vengeance Is Mine’ is called ‘Album Of Our Life’ and hits the nail on the head in several aspects. On the one hand, the international power metal band surrounding bassist and founder Mario Lochert has succeeded in creating what is probably the most powerful and imaginative work of its career so far, with loads of great guitar riffs, grooving rhythms and anthemic melodies. On the other hand, the album’s lyrics venture into territories previously uncharted by the band. Lochert: “This time, I have allowed more insights into my emotions and private life than ever before, i.e. into how I think, how I feel, how I am, and how difficult it can be to keep a band going when you aren’t well yourself. The lyrics on ‘Vengeance Is Mine’ reflect the past four or five years. This, of course, had an impact on the songwriting, which has become even more intense and emotional.”
In addition to the private insight of the band’s soul, another new aspect came into play: Nikola Mijić, a powerful vocalist from Serbia, has recently become the front man of the band. Mijić is the successor to Urban Breed, who separated from the band in spring 2021. “Nikola is a very talented and experienced singer,” Lochert reports proudly.
And so has at last come together what belongs together – in Serious Black: Nikola Mijić’s expressive timbre, the rapid riffs and hooks of the guitarists Dominik Sebastian and Bob Katsionis, the driving grooves of drummer Ramy Ali with bassist and producer Mario Lochert. Due to these elements and on top the collective diverse songwriting, ‘Vengeance Is Mine’ has turned into a prime example of a deeply melodic and at the same time powerfully dynamic power metal album.
“Vengenance Is Mine” was produced and mixed by Lochert at his Serious Black Studio in Kirchseeon. The guitars were recorded by Dominik Sebastian at his own studio and all orchestral arrangements and keyboards were done by Bob Katsionis in Greece.
Furthermore, the band has unveiled a Lyric Video ‘The Story’.
The ballad was originally written by folk rock singer Brandi Carlile. It is a calm and yet powerful track. The new song shows off a new side of SERIOUS BLACK, that has rarely seen before. The song is the start for the most emotional and imaginative work of the power metal band yet. Nikola Mijić, the newest member of the group, crowns the song to completion with his powerful voices.
The lyric video of “The Story” creates intimacy supported by private photos and insights into the studio recordings – and gets fans in the mood for the upcoming album.

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced “Varsity“) — Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] — have announced that their new album Welcome Home will arrive on November 19. Pre-order it here.
“I must be cursed to repeat cycles because ‘Sick,’ much like ‘Shameless’ from our EP, was the very last song written for the release,” says Varela. “This song actually didn’t exist until a few months after the record was pretty much done. It was also an incredibly different process writing this one. Instead of my usual approach of working with [producer] Andrew [Baylis], I also got to work with Kile Odell and Zach Williams before bringing Andrew into the mix. It’s also one of the few songs that I’ve ever written where I’m just having fun singing about whatever random story pops into my head. Sometimes, music should just be fun. That’s what I went for with this — and I’m glad I did.”
Welcome Home is the band’s debut full length for the label and follows last year’s breakthrough Cloud City EP, which has accumulated six million streams in less than a year and yielded the head-turning singles “Shameless” and “Massive.” The latter was the most played on SiriusXM’s Octane for two weeks in a row in late 2020. VRSTY have perfected their seamless and fearless cross-pollination of metallic grooves and R&B-influenced, after midnight vocal swagger on this 14-track offering. VRSTY aren’t just offering their own take on a genre; they have authored a fusion style that is entirely their own.
“Welcome Home is an incredibly personal album to me,” Varela shares. “I know everybody says that, and hey, maybe they’re not lying when they do. I sure as hell am not. It was definitely a task, at first, trying to figure out how to phrase or sing something without getting too personal. But somewhere along the way, I threw that idea out the window and decided to say exactly what I felt. You won’t find me trying to sound cool or using any fancy wordplay. It’s just me in my rawest form, saying exactly what I’ve felt or experienced over the years, which is what has made me who I am today. I think if anybody ever wants to get to know me, this record will give you everything you need to know. No secrets. Just me.”

Metal Mind Productions is proud to announce the release of second full-length album by the heavy metal band – LaNinia. The album entitled “Tyrant” is scheduled for the release on November, 5th 2021.
The official lyric video for the album’s first single, “Down With The Wicked”, can be viewed here:
This Polish band was formed in 2018 by two friends, Daniel Ludwiczak (guitar) and Janusz Duź (guitar). Their music is inspired by bands such as Sepultura, Vader, Biohazard and Acid Drinkers. Debut album entitled “Loneliness” (2018) is a reference to the passing of time, interpersonal interactions and what the world around us is today. It’s the album that goes back to the 90s, but it does not avoid modern sounds. New material entitled “Tyrant” consists of 11 compositions bearing a common denominator-tyranny, which is the main theme of the album. As the band explain: „In today’s difficult and uncertain times, we wanted to look at this phenomenon at a wider angle and present it from different perspectives.” The album fully shows the multidimensionality of the band and what it has to offer to both Polish and English speaking listeners. English lyrics, melodic vocals and guitar groove are the most characteristic features of LaNinia. Invited guests musicians not only showed up for the recording sessions, but also took active part in the creation of the music right from the beginning and left a significant mark on the final sound of the compositions. The album includes a cover version of „Mandatory Suicide” by Slayer. „Our version of this track features Piotr Luczyk as a guest. He is a musical personality that had a big impact on the development of the Polish metal scene and made this cover even more special!”
Tracklist: 1. Confession 2. Down With The Wicked 3. Not My Sin 4. My Tyrant 5. Mandatory Suicide (Slayer cover) 6. Eclipse Of Humanity 7. Fight Back 8. Malum In Se 9. Exterminate 10. The Dark Times Roll 11. Petrichor

Dublin alternative rock outfit KLUBBER LANG return with their new single ‘I Will Not Wait’, raw and fast paced with an undeniable groove that works brilliantly with their trademark hard-edged guitar riffs. This combined with McGoldrick’s unique, but uncommonly maniacal and melodic vocal delivery gives ‘I Will Not Wait’ an almost primordial murkiness that comes at you like a freight train, fusing an energetic mesh of grunge and punk. ‘I Will Not Wait’ is now available on all digital platforms.
‘I Will Not Wait’, the band’s second release since teaming up with Irish independent label ‘Forever in Financial Arrears’ (FIFA Records) and is the perfect follow up to their previous release on FIFA ‘Sleep Well’ and is ample justification as to why there is a real level of expectation about the Dublin heavy hitters.
The ‘Klubber Lang’ name might be new to some, but the band’s pedigree is note-worthy. They were formed by Revelino guitarist Ciaran Tallon, Ciaran McGoldrick on vocals and bass, formerly of (sic), ex-Mexican Pets drummer Fin O’Leary and Ronan McHugh on keyboards.
‘I Will Not Wait’ is now available on all digital platforms and is the first in a series of Klubber Lang singles with FIFA that will receive a physical release later in the year on limited edition cassette.
