THE 450s Sign with Louder Than Loud, Release First Single + Video ‘Flowers From Columbine’

THE 450’s first single and video for the track “Flowers From Columbine” has been released! Watch the video for the song below.

“Flowers For Columbine” now is also available as digital single on all digital platforms, and the album “The 450s” via Louder Than Loud Records (out: November 19th, 2021) available for pre-order via this link: https://smarturl.it/The450s

Tales of decadence and despair are rendered with dark and edgy musicality in the provocatively titled songs “Flowers for Columbine” and “Lust and Denial.” Cleary, The 450s aren’t afraid to delve deep into the heart of darkness, either lyrically or in their modern take on soulful, raucous rock ‘n’ roll. Thankfully, some do get out alive, including frontman Rhett, who, like the other members of The 450s, is a musician with a storied history and prolific creativity.

But past critical raves and credits—and there are many among this foursome—don’t necessarily translate into brutally honest, beautifully rendered rock songs, influenced by the ages, but sonically current. Musical chemistry is elusive, but this band of brothers— though only two, Robert and James Jacobs, are blood brothers—have been friends and sometime musical collaborators for decades despite living in Florida, Connecticut, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Each musician had their own project when they came together: Respected drummer and producer (Anthrax, Blue Cheer and more) Carl Canedy just released an album with his iconic band the Rods; the Jacobs’ found strong success with a 2019 release from their acclaimed band St. James; while Rhett, a veteran of major labels, was thriving as a solo artist, earning critical praise for his “ugly-beautiful, gutter- to-penthouse vocals.”

When the quartet got together in Miami, on a whim, the chemistry was effortless, the resultant songs so strong that they caught the ear of legendary producer Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Patti Smith), who went the extra mile in mixing the album, highlighting The 450’s inherent musical tension and dynamics. Chris Collier (Korn, Prong) also worked on the mixing/production, helping to hone the “modern” part of The 450’s “modern vintage” vibe.

The result is songs with an immediacy and nakedness that’s so intense it’s almost scary. The bluesy flamenco spookiness of “One King” is hauntingly cinematic; while the addictive “Black Tar” mixes a raw power with a dramatic string section, courtesy of keyboard player Ryan Sambrook. The musical push-pull comes from their personalities, as they explain: “Carl is the foundation and Bobby is the bridge between Carl and the rest of the band.” Jimmy, who cites “Jimmy Page’s arrangements and production abilities and David Gilmour’s precision,” among his influences, “brings the whole thing together musically.” And Rhett himself? He brings a reckless urgency vocally, observing, “This is the heaviest record I’ve ever done, yet it has subtleties, and I hope, at times, a pop sense. Lyrically, this album talks about the thin lines that differentiate where one ends up in life.”

The 450s bring an old-school band ethic to bear: No resting on laurels, no copping styles from their forefathers; no pre-fab or pre-conceived anything. “We got together in a room and turned everything up real loud,” they explain. “We jammed and recorded what came out. Ultimately, it’s “about creating this group of songs out of nowhere for no reason other than it’s what we all love to do.”

ARTIFAS Release New Single ‘Leave Me For Dead’

Hard rock band ARTIFAS released their new single “LEAVE ME FOR DEAD” via Imagen Records! The single is from their forthcoming album titled Reflections due out November 19, 2021.

Buy/Stream HERE.

“Leave Me For Dead is a song about abandonment and the struggle to overcome the emotions associated with it. We’ve all had that person in our lives that we trusted, just to find out that they would leave us for dead when things got tough. This song is about just being in disbelief over something like that and the internal battle that follows when you’re left in doubt…” says the band.

American Hard Rock band Artifas was formed in 2011 in Jackson, TN by lead guitarist Cody Criswell and lead vocalist Scottie Somerville. In the months following, the two founders of the group would immediately recruit an assortment of hometown musicians and begin looking to record their debut EP. After having a long and ugly encounter that resulted in the theft of all the bands funds and receiving no album in return, the original incarnation of the group would spend 2012-2013 doing several independent tours and writing music. After debuting with their EP Enemy Inside in 2013 and doing numerous regional/national tours in support of it, the band replaced former members with guitarist Mikey Miller, bassist Anthony Mattox, and drummer Jared Wainscott.

With almost two years of touring with the new lineup under their belts, Artifas inked themselves a record deal and hit the studio to make their first full length album. The 2015 release of the title track, “Inhuman,” would bring the band some commercial success, reaching # 32 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart and sending the band on the road in support of their new album. The band landed tours with established artists like Theory of a Deadman, Shamans Harvest, Pop Evil, Saint Asonia, Aranda, and others. The follow up single from that record, “Blood 4 Blood”, would later get picked up by the World Series of Fighting and subsequently land a feature in the UFC movie “Fight Valley”. The band parted ways with their record label in 2016, and remained on tour throughout the US for most of the following year, also traveling internationally for the first time with the likes of Papa Roach, Hoobastank, P.O.D., Trapt, and Sick Puppies to play for our American Troops.

Multiple tour cycles later, Artifas found themselves back in the studio making new music. The band worked with multiple writers and producers throughout the entirety of 2018, but would ultimately only find themselves frustrated with the recordings that resulted. After a soul search within the group, Artifas elected to embrace their own vision and write/produce their next album independently, free from the creative overreach of outside influence.

After two years of writing, recording, and mixing, Artifas has completed the new album, and plans to unleash it upon the world. With catchy guitar riffs, dizzying drums, and soaring melodies, Reflections will send you on an emotional journey, exploring the band’s semi-prog, radio rock sound while diving deeper into the human complex with lyrics centered around self awareness and the bands own struggles with mental health. The goal for the creation of this album was to make a record that met the band’s expectations and you can rest assured they held nothing back. Mixed and Mastered by Forrester Savell (Twelve Foot Ninja, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus), Reflections promises to wow you with musical prowess, all the while delivering Artifas’ important message on unity, inspiration, and the sempiternal battle between dark and light.

Band inspired by the beauty of northern nature and mysticism ANIMA HERETICAE releases their debut EP Ov Behest on October 1st. Featuring members from Red Moon Architect, Aeonian Sorrow, Paara and Frosttide the trio combines nordic melancholy to modern blackened death metal sound. Now released as a single the title track reflects the bond between human and nature on several levels. One perspective can be sensed on the music video.

“Epic track Ov Behest needed majestic but barren sceneries. Also the story was visualised into the video by our trustworthy visualist Vin Valentino. Our aim was that the video would work on both levels and deliver both the lyrical story and the musical atmoshere still leaving space for the viewer to interpret it from their own perspective.” vocalist/bass player Ville Rutanen backgrounds the video.

In a recent video studio update, Gary Hughes and Darrel Treece-Birch announced that the band is working on what are to be TEN’s 15th and 16th studio albums. The first one expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022. According to the video update, the new albums are a nod back to the original elements and flavours that the fans of the band have become familiar with over the years. Elements that TEN are respected and known for within their genre, reflecting more towards their classic early output on albums like “Ten”, “The Name Of The Rose”, “The Robe” and “Spellbound”.

In addition to the news of the two new Ten albums, Gary Hughes also announced the release of a debut album that he has been involved in. TAO is a new British Female Fronted Melodic Hard Rock band. Brazilian Multi-Instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa’s TERRA Release New Video “Sign My Name”

Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa will be releasing his studio project Terra and its debut album  “Hypercube” on November 19th via Rockshots Records.

Today, the second single “Sign My Name” is revealed with a lyric video via Rockshots Records YouTube channel.

Digital Stream – https://bfan.link/sign-my-name

Barbosa explains the track:

“‘Sign My Name’ is led by a percussive guitar line in its core, but starts and ends with two smooths Bossa Nova style progressions performed on the classical guitar. It fits the development of the album with a message of reconciliation with our own identity, where the artist sheds light on his roots, on his Indigenous, African and European origins. Sign My Name is a statement about owning who we are. It’s about to be seen, by ourselves, as unique human beings, full of defects, qualities and mixed experiences, and it’s about understanding where we come from so that we may know where he is going. Fully emerged in Brazilian atmosphere, this song is loaded with samba influences, manifested through a glaring and raw Brazilian attitude, with the strength of those who know and respect its origins, proud of the historic and cultural legacies that flow through one’s veins.”

Terra brings a combination of musical, audiovisual and artistic experience that translates the personality and ideas of Brazilian composer and multi-instrumentalist Lucas Barbosa, resulting in a musical journey for those who love music and exploration of the new.

“The idea of Terra was always there, I believe. I have been composing and writing songs since I was 15. I needed a platform to structure and back these songs. This platform should allow me to combine some passions of mine: folk and metal music, traveling and photography. When I was around 20, I came up with the concept of TERRA, a project that would combine all the influences that made the musician and the person I am, in an organic manner, which would allow me to tell my stories of discoveries and exploration, including my experiences traveling through Brazil and throughout the world. It took about 10 years to actually find the environment and opportunity to bring this idea to life by recording Hypercube and kick-starting this journey.” comments Barbosa.

Terra’s first record is the outcome of the combination of elements put together to tell a story of a journey of growth and self-discovery, that frankly, could be the tale of every human being at some point in their lives. Ten songs are there to paint a picture of the artist’s personality and explore each step of the way with the respective deserved depth. Although heavy metal is the glue that unites all the musical nuances presented on this album, “Hypercube” does not shy away from a rich range of influences such as American Bluegrass, Country Music, Classic Rock, Classical Music, Western Folk, traditional Brazilian, Caipira and Sertanejo music along with passages of Samba, Capoeira, Bossa Nova and many others to convey its message. Lucas Barbosa was responsible for playing almost all instruments, including rhythm and lead guitars in all their forms (electric, classical, 6 string, 12 string), bass, Brazilian guitar (or Viola Caipira), Andean guitar (or Charango), Pan flute (Andean flute), harmonica, percussions and piano, in addition to performing all of the vocals in the songs.

Terra‘s debut album “Hypercube” is due out November 19, 2021.
