It has been 8 long years since the last record, and HYPOCRISY fans can feel the itch. “WORSHIP” is 11 tracks of precise, ferocious musicianship. Commonly inspired by the fusion of the modern and the ancient, HYPOCRISY has once more found a way to combine innovative ideas with classic sound in order to deliver something metalheads can enjoyably consume with awe and brutal vigor. As usual, all recording and mixing took place at Tägtgren’s Abyss Studio AB in Sweden while mastering was completed by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers Audio Mastering. Designed by artist Blake Armstrong (KATAKLYSM, IN FLAMES, CARNIFEX, etc.), WORSHIP’s artwork speaks to the history of the relationship between humanity and extraterrestrials.

Below is the “Worship” Tracklist:

  1. Worship
  2. Chemical Whore
  3. Greedy Bastards
  4. Dead World
  5. We’re The Walking Dead

BONDED Announce Sophomore Album “Into Blackness”; Unleash New single “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night”

Germany’s Thrash Metallers BONDED are pleased to announce the worldwide release of their sophomore album “Into Blackness” on November 12th, 2021 via Century Media Records.

BONDED, the group by former Sodom members Bernd “Bernemann” Kost (Guitars) and Markus “Makka” Freiwald (Drums) alongside second guitarist Chris Tsitsis (ex-Suicidal Angels), bassist Marc Hauschild and vocalist Ingo Bajonczak (Assassin), have decided to stick to their guns and once again collaborated with producer Cornelius Rambadt (Sodom, Disbelief, Onkel Tom) at the Rambado Recording Studio in Essen, Germany and also had Björn Gooßes / Killustrations (Aborted, The Crown, Carnal Forge) create the album’s artwork (To be seen above!), just like on their critically acclaimed “Rest In Violence” debut album from 2020, which entered the official album charts in Germany at # 84.

A first single for “Into Blackness” has been released today and “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night” can be seen in a lyric clip designed by Cloud Music Typography here:

BONDED checked in with the following comment about the track: “We are happy and proud to present you a first song of the upcoming BONDED album “Into Blackness”. Entitled “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night”, this track contains all of the musical trademarks by BONDED at once: It’s riff-oriented, fast, with plenty of tempo changes and displaying a permanent contrast between brutality and melody. The intense lead guitar dueling and above all the memorable, powerful vocal lines make this a great representation of the new album. And this song could almost be understood as the album’s title track, as it is lyrically part of the 4-track war-themed storyline centerpiece inspired by the fictional book “The Division Of The Damned” by Richard Rhys Jones. We hope you enjoy this first foretaste of the album…and look out, as there is more coming your way soon!”

“Into Blackness” tracklist

  1. The Arsonist
  2. Watch (While The World Burns)
  3. Lilith (Queen Of Blood)
  4. The Holy Whore
  5. Division Of The Damned
  6. Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night
  7. Destroy The Things I Love
  8. Final Stand
  9. Ill-Minded Freak
  10. Way Of The Knife
  11. The Eyes Of Madness

The album’s limited first-pressing CD edition will come with O-Card packaging, a sticker and two bonus tracks: 12. Humanity On Sale and 13. Will To Survive. “Into Blackness” will also be available as 180g black vinyl on the LP format and the album’s pre-sale in its various formats starts today from here: https://bonded.lnk.to/IntoBlacknessPR

SORCERER Release Cover Single + Music Video for RAINBOW’s Classic “Gates Of Babylon”

Today (September 10th), Swedish epic doom metallers SORCERER have released a new single – their tribute version of Rainbow‘s 1978 classic “Gates Of Babylon” – through Metal Blade Records! Watch the video for this cover song below.

Since Sorcerer‘s latest release, Lamenting Of The Innocent (2020), the pandemic restrictions have impacted the whole music scene and interfered with promotional aspirations and touring. While Sorcerer‘s main focus lies on creating new material for a fourth record with Metal Blade and moving forward, the vacuum of the pandemic offered the band some spare time for a fun side project.

Sorcerer had been playing with the idea to do a tribute cover for quite some time. But finding time to make an arrangement, record and even choosing a song always seemed challenging; many epic tracks appealing to the members had also already been covered. To bridge the period to their new album and also to shine some light in these dark days, Sorcerer felt the time was now to put that idea into action. Once they committed to it, the song choice was actually a no-brainer. Rainbow had always been a huge inspiration for all and influenced Sorcerer since the beginning, so it felt like an obvious choice to go for their anthem “Gates Of Babylon” – a track that hasn’t lost its magic decades after its release.

Regarding this cover project, Sorcerer guitarist Kristian Niemann says: “When trying to come up with a way to arrange ‘Gates Of Babylon’ and give it a different spin, I tried to imagine what it would’ve sounded like if Tony Iommi wrote it instead of Ritchie Blackmore. It probably would’ve been slower and heavier, possibly down-tuned a bit. We skipped the keyboard intro because it would be impossible to capture the magic of the original. We had a great time recording this single at SolnaSound Studios, and overall we are very happy with how it turned out. We hope our fans will dig it too.”

Sorcerer‘s “Gates Of Babylon” is now streaming on all digital platforms: metalblade.com/sorcerer

JINJER’s Album “Wallflowers” Hits the Charts Worldwide

It’s finally here, and transgresses borders of all imagination! Ukrainian modern metal giants JINJER have only just released one of the most anticipated metal albums of the year on August 27, entitled Wallflowers, and are already breaking the charts worldwide with the game-changing fourth offering. Wallflowers, the successor of their critically acclaimed third album Macro, is currently ranked at #7 on the German charts – marking their highest position in Germany so far – in addition to entering at #5 on the official UK Rock & Metal Album Charts. Plus, the band entered both the US Billboard Top New Artist Albums chart and Canada’s Hard Music Albums chart at #1, in addition to landing at #2 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart and scoring several other top positions. Wallflowers has also gone on to gather numerous top spots in several other international territories. See all chart entries of this modern metal manifestation below.

Eugene on the new album:
“Growing creatively has always been a major goal for us. The day JINJER stops reaching for new musical horizons will be our last day as a band. We could have churned out what our peers expected us to do, or produce ‘Pisces’ clones without end, but we’ve never done that and we never will. Instead, we wrote an album whose level of emotions range from the fiercest aggression we’ve ever had, to the most intricate melodies and melancholic vibes you could ever get from our music. We decided to rip apart all possible stylistic boundaries without regard to financial success or competing with our previous albums. Wallflowers is a different kind of album musically and visually. It’s about our identity as a band, as individuals and a clear statement that we are different from most artists… and that it is OK to do your own thing.”

NEMECIC Release New Single About Psychedelic Device

Jyväskylä, Finland -based NEMECIC have released the second single off their upcoming album. The melodic death metal track bears the title ”Dream Machine” and is about the Dreamachine device designed by artist Brion Gysin and mathematician Ian Sommerville. The apparatus was dubbed as ”the first piece of art meant to be viewed with eyes closed” and was experimented with by artists such as Kurt Cobain, Iggy Pop and Marianne Faithfull.

The band comments: ”This is probably one of our favorites on the album. Short and to the point with a ”Wherever I May Roam” type of mood in the verses. The main guitar lead was written pretty much on the fly in the studio during producer guru Juho Räihä’s lunch break. We always seem to do things the hard way!”

The lyric video for ”Dream Machine” was created by Anssi Korhonen.
