Germany’s hottest and most entertaining medieval folk rockers, FEUERSCHWANZ, have prevailed against pandemic paralysis and are set to release two recent virtual live highlights under the banner Die letzte Schlacht (engl. The Final Battle), via BluRay/DVD/CD on August 6 via Napalm Records.

For their massive punch of live-power FEUERSCHWANZ additionally present an exciting set of high-class guests, like medieval unit Saltatio Mortis, who joins the band for an electrifying performance on “Schildmaid” (engl. shield-maiden). The song is originally taken off the recent, chart-breaking top album, Das Elfte Gebot (The eleventh commandment, 2020, GER #3) and offers a forceful performance of those two German frontrunners!

FEUERSCHWANZ add:
“We’ve always been on stage with the greatest women – something we are more than proud of! With good reason Johanna, Myu and Musch-Musch have earned a place right in front of our team and our hearts. With “Schildmaid” we wanted to set a monument to this and dedicate it to all the shield-maidens out there. Be strong & proud, bold & free, do your thing and stay who you are: a shield-maiden of Odin!

For the performance of our online show we got our dear friends and bagpipe heroes Luzi and Elsi from Saltatio Mortis!

Here’s to you, shield-maidens!”

Watch the new live-video for „Schildmaid” (feat. Saltatio Mortis) NOW:

Despite the yawn-worthy barrenness of festival fields and stages, the Franconian formation has inimitably managed to capture the magic of a live concert, twice – gifting fans an entertaining adventure full of hits and a huge dose of humor on Die letzte Schlacht.

Featuring high quality footage, electrifying pyro, lighting effects, and above all, the unique, charismatic, tongue-in-cheek talents of the band, Die letzte Schlacht is an absolute must-have. May your drinking horns never be empty and the mead flow forever!

FEUERSCHWANZ on Die letzte Schlacht:
“We are very happy and proud to see all the live power of FEUERSCHWANZ, as well as our creative work of the pandemic period, collected as this piece of art for eternity.”

Pre-Order your copy NOW!

The virtual concert, Die letzte Schlacht, was originally released in January this year, and presents an adventurous ride through the discography of FEUERSCHWANZ as well as a lovingly prepared visual framework story with the band itself as grandiose protagonists and storytellers. Topped by some great guest appearances, including Angus McFife (GLORYHAMMER), members of Saltatio Mortis and Patty Gurdy, this night to remember can now be experienced over and over again from the comfort of your own home. Secondly, Hauptmann Feuerschwanz and his entourage revisit their virtually released open air (11:O:A) from their last album, the chartbreaking Das Elfte Gebot, and deliver more than two hours of hits.

HEAVY METAL TELEVISION Relaunch Worlds Longest Running Metal Video & Content Show

HEAVY METAL TELEVISION, the world’s longest running streaming video channel for hard rock and heavy metal music videos and content, will officially relaunch today, Monday, July 5th at 12am Eastern Time.

“It really is time, isn’t it,” asks Heavy Metal Television CEO and Head of Programming Chris Akin. “We are right in the middle of the digital age; the video age, and the best music ever created finds itself without a dedicated outlet to present it. Great rock and metal is being made every day. Videos look better than they ever did before. And yet, you have most of the metal community believing the babblings of old fashioned people that ‘Rock Is Dead.’ It’s not dead at all. It just doesn’t have an appropriate outlet to present it anymore. The relaunch of Heavy Metal Television changes that.”

While Heavy Metal Television originally launched in 2012, it never took off as anticipated due to a large number of factors that are being adapted for the relaunch in 2021.

“I looked at it as a whole, and saw a lot of things that I thought we could immediately upgrade to make it work for the times,” Akin admits. “I always loved the idea, but just thought that, in 2021, it needed to be redesigned for the modern video consumer.”

With that, a new platform was developed. A new, state of the art website was developed to provide information about the programming on the channel. The programming was integrated into the channel’s Facebook page for ease of viewing. The streaming channel has also been integrated into the parent company’s iOS and Android apps for easy portable viewing on the go! Viewing has also been made available on Chromecast and Amazon Fire devices, with Roku and Apple TV channels scheduled to launch by Fall of 2021. As Akin describes it, Heavy Metal Television has been refocused to the needs of the modern metalhead.

“In 2012 when Heavy Metal Television originally launched, people consumed video content on a computer as if it was another TV,” Akin remembers. “It was ‘stabilized in a chair while eating potato chips’ television. It’s different now. People are used to watching videos, podcasts, and shows while on the go. They watch while walking, on car rides, while riding the bus… pretty much everywhere. We’re making that portability possible now.”

But what will this new programming consist of? According to Akin, it will have everything a metalhead would want to see.

“We are covering the full gamut of metal,” Akin says. “From hard rock and hair metal through death metal, and everything in between. We’ll also have interview shows covering all the artists of yesterday and today, and some killer specialty shows that will paint a new picture of heavy metal for the viewer today. If you are a fan of aggressive music, there’s definitely going to be a ton of great music featured on Heavy Metal Television. I’m so excited to share this with fans.”

One thing that Heavy Metal Television is definitely going to bring back is shows featuring today’s artists playing the music. As Akin believes, fans just want to know what their favorite musicians are listening to.

“VJ takeovers are going to be a big part of Heavy Metal Television,” Akin admits. “As a kid, I remember becoming a Crowbar fan just from seeing Phil from Pantera talking about them and wearing their shirt in a video. I want THAT kind of energy to return between fans and bands. That excitement between artist and fan was the heart of music television’s fantastic first run. A retweet from your favorite drummer just doesn’t have that same impact as we used to experience. Having my favorite bands sharing their favorite music with me, as a fan, always made my musical library grow. This new generation of bands deserve the same opportunity with their fans.”

Heavy Metal Television launches Monday, July 5th, and can be viewed at www.heavymetaltelevision.net or www.heavymetaltv.com, a full screen no frills viewer at www.heavymetaltelevision.com or on The CMS Network iOS and Android apps (search “The CMS Network”). Instructions to watch on Chromecast or Amazon Fire devices are available on the website.

LET US PREY Unveil Music Video For New Song “Deadlight Sunset”

Boston-based melodic power/thrash group LET US PREY has premiered a music video for a new song titled “Deadlight Sunset.” The track – which features a guest solo by guitarist Nick Petrino (Dee Snider) – is now available for streaming and download at all digital platforms, while the video can be viewed below.

“Deadlight Sunset” represents the first new music from LET US PREY since the release of their 2020 full-length debut, “Virtues of the Vicious,” and is a companion piece of sorts to that album’s “In Suffering,” a deeply personal song that vocalist Marc Lopes (also of Ross The Boss) penned about his struggles with mental health. Says Lopes, “Written originally as a bonus track that wasn’t finished in time for the final ‘Virtues of the Vicious’ release, it’s a Part II to ‘In Suffering’ in the context of its subject matter of depression, suicide and the struggles of mental dis-ease. ‘Deadlight Sunset’ is a journey into the mindset of wanting to commit suicide – the helplessness, the comforting thought and relief in thinking this option is the solution. This is a first-hand account from me personally – a very dark subject, a very real subject, but something that needs to be discussed and with no shame. Luckily for me, I’m still here to tell the dark tale, to hopefully convey a message that there is a better solution and to bring awareness to this growing matter. We also have our good friend Nick Petrino from Dee Snider’s band doing a killer solo that was a bit out of his normal wheelhouse as well, and it just completes the vibe on this tune. We’re never afraid to go against the norm within the metal genre, as LET US PREY has many shades, colors and dynamics to what we do, so always expect the unexpected. (Wait ‘til you hear the next record.) Welcome to The Deadlight Sunset.”

LET US PREY’s debut album “Virtues of the Vicious” – released by M-Theory Audio in July 2020 – seamlessly blended elements of seemingly disparate genres, leading Ghost Cult to describe the album as “if Lamb Of God played power metal like Blind Guardian.” The group’s mix of thrash, death, power and progressive metal elements were underpinned with industrial samples and symphonic keyboards, while Lopes matched those effortless shifts with his vocal performance, excelling at thrash/death metal growls, soaring melodic vocals, and searing Halford-esque highs with layered harmonies. “Virtues of the Vicious” also featured guest appearances from a number of notable metal musicians, including Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall), “Metal” Mike Chlasciak (Halford, Testament), Jimi Bell (House of Lords, Autograph) and the late Oli Herbert (All That Remains).

The situation involving COVID-19 prevented LET US PREY from scheduling live shows over the last year, but the group will soon be ready to continue impressing audiences as they did prior to 2020 on stages in and around the northeastern United States alongside the likes of Soilwork, Suffocation, Soulfly, Life of Agony, Metal Church, Battle Beast, Doro and Scar Symmetry, among others.

Finnish DENIGRATE Release New Single “Perfida”

Finnish 1996 founded melancholic metallers DENIGRATE have released new material after a while. The new single “Perfida” is the first single from the upcoming new album, to be released later this year.

Listen to “Perfida”:
Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3h6EmZM
Youtube: https://youtu.be/KO9exSoE7Js
Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/us/album/238930152
Tidal: https://listen.tidal.com/album/188466156
Bandcamp: https://denigratefin.bandcamp.com/

Singer Galzi backgrounds the story: “The song is a story about a person who calls one’s partner Perfida, as a reminder of treacherousness. The idea of treacherousness is only a fiction but it leads to a real, definitive tragedy with no return.”

DENIGRATE was formed 1996 in Tuusula, Finland. Right from the start it was certain that musical style, lyrics and melodies, are going to be something that involves melacholy and dark corners of human mind, with a glimpse of hope. After few years of practising and doing random gigs it was time to make demo tape. First demo was released in 1998 and people got to know us bit better. It also gave us new opportunities to play gigs bit further than before. Second demo was released in 2000 and it also got us record deal with Warner Music Finland.

Debut album ”Dismal Euphoria” was released in 2003 and from it two singles: ”Guardian of the Bitter sea” and ”Everything Counts”.

DENIGRATE recorded and produced the second album “Hollowpoint” by themselves and it was finished in autumn of 2015. Compared to previous album, “Hollowpoint” is darker, more aggressive and also more complex.

The third album which instruments were recorded 2018 was ready for release without vocals for a long time. While Micko was focusing more to his another bands we were forced to find another singer. We found a talented singer Galzi (Dead Shape Figure) with most motivated attitude which gave us new energy to finish this album. Galzi gave also new perspective for the lyrical side as well. The third album will be released accompanied by two singles in the second half of 2021.

DENIGRATE 2021:
Galzi Kallio: Vocals
Pekka Pyrhönen: Bass
Seppo Nummela: Guitar
Tipi Toivanen: Drums

Experimental Sludge outfit ERDVE will be releasing their new album ‘Savigaila’ via Season of Mist on July 23! The band is now revealing the third new single, “Pragulos” along with an unnerving music video, which was created entirely by the band! You can find the clip at THIS LOCATION.

ERDVE comments: ”The video for the song ‘Pragulos’ (meaning: Bedsore) is about finding the key for your own personal meaning, transforming into someone you always wanted to be and breaking free from dogmatic societal structures and their imposed rules. It is when denying the existing dogmas of society, religion and politics, you are able to find your true self and grasp the reality between knowledge and superstition. ‘Pragulos’ is one of the most essential pieces of the upcoming album, a necessary balance for the anxious wall of sound.”

APOSTOLICA Reveal Debut Album Details

Power metal heretics APOSTOLICA – the hyped yet mysterious project featuring some of the finest musicians of the international heavy metal scene – have revealed the details of their debut album ‘Haeretica Ecclesia’.

The tracklist is as follows:

1.    Sanctus Spiritus
2.    The Sword of Sorrow
3.    Come with Us
4.    Thanatos
5.    Pollution Is My Name
6.    No More Place in Hell
7.    Famine
8.    The Doom
9.    The Dusk is Coming
10.  Redemption

Apostolica have founded a new cult based on an intriguing and enigmatic image, a bombastic and pristine sound, catchy riffs and plenty of unforgettable hooks & choirs.

With its fresh and invigorating songwriting, ‘Haeretica Ecclesia’ is the first chapter of the four masked prophets’ very own book of revelations: a prophecy in music where they – modern-day knights of the Apocalypse – declare war to the heavens and celebrate the human being despite weaknesses and defects.

The world needs faith and hope, now more than ever; the heavy metal scene need faith and hope too: Apostolica is the heretic, powerful and anthemic antidote to the age of spiritual slavery.

‘Haeretica Ecclesia’ will be released by Scarlet Records on September 17th.
