Seattle metallers DRAGGED UNDER are smashing their way into summer 2021 with the release of the We’ll Do It Live EP – out via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group on 6th August – which drops as they prepare to embark on a 30 date US tour with the mighty Beartooth.  They have also revealed dates for their first-ever European tour in June 2022, which travels through headline dates in Germany and the UK, as well as a special appearance supporting The Ghost Inside at Brixton Academy, London.

European 2022 Tour Dates
Tickets Available Here: https://www.draggedunder.com/dates

Tue 14 Jun – Key Club, Leeds, UK
Weds 15 Jun – Asylum 2, Birmingham, UK
Thurs 16 Jun – Star & Garter, Manchester, UK
Fri 17 Jun – Camden Assembly, London, UK
Sat 18 Jun – O2 Brixton Academy, London, UK w/The Ghost Inside
Tues 28 Jun – Schlachthof, Wiesbaden, Germany
Weds 29 Jun – Hafenklang, Hamburg, Germany
Thurs 30 Jun – Gebäude 9, Cologne, Germany

To celebrate this tsunami of news, the band have revealed the stunning performance of “Hypochondria”, which you can see here. Taken from the upcoming We’ll Do It Live’ EP, this was one of the standout moments of their live stream performance from December.

The six-strong tracklisting is taken from 2020s debut album, The World Is In Your Way. The album has over 13 million collective streams to date and picked up support from BBC Radio 1, Kerrang Radio as well as Kerrang Magazine, who said “their blend of chest-beating melodic hardcore, thrashy punk, serrated tech-metal and swaggering punk rock is utterly irresistible,” Rock Sound offered “viciously catchy… full-on foot-stomping anthem, with a huge earworm of a chorus and plenty of rough and ready riffing to boot,” whilst Distorted Sound hailed it “a savage, stompy rager… an exciting start to a career.”  Elsewhere they picked up supporters from Loudwire, Guitar World and Alternative Press named it as one of 20 debut albums that took Metalcore to the next level in 2020. As well as “Hypochondria,” the live EP features blistering versions of “Just Like Me,” “The Hardest Drug,” “The Real You,” “Chelsea”, and “Instability.”

Talking about coming to Europe, frontman Tony Cappocchi says; “For many of us, travelling to Europe was always on our bucket list, but we weren’t sure we’d ever get to actually do it, so to be able to have our music take us to the other side of the world to play festivals we’ve only ever dreamt of attending is humbling.”

On the upcoming dates with Beartooth, Cappocchi shares, “It goes without saying we’re elated to be touring with bands like Beartooth and Wage War. These are a couple of bands that are white-hot, and exceptional songwriters. It’s an honour to open the tour. As for the live EP, we wanted to give the fans a taste of what they could expect to see from us once live shows are back. We only got to play a handful of concerts to support that last record, so it’s a way to give the audience a fresh perspective on an older release that we think didn’t get its proper time in the sun.”

Norwegian Folk Rockers GÅTE Release Music Video “Hemnarsverdet”

Norwegian Folk Rockers GÅTE release their new music video “Hemnarsverdet”. Hemnarsverdet is an old Norwegian folk tale hailing from the region of Telemark. It is a story about a personal vendetta, blood revenge and the fatal consequences of these motifs. Watch the music video HERE!

A stranger arrives at a gathering of people with a serious errand.
He’s looking for the man who took the life of his father. Faced with his father’s murderer the stranger begs his sword for aid in his lethal mission. The sword answers that it must be forged and made much stronger first. When this is done, the stranger swings the sword and kills – not only the murderer, but also all the others present including an infant.
Making the stranger beg the sword to stop in the name of God. The sword stops and says that if he had not mentioned God’s name, the stranger himself would have been killed.

The fact that the sword seemingly acts of its own free will and kills relentlessly, is a telling expression of how much damage blood revenge could cause, and that only the word of God has the power to put an end to this savagery.

Gåtes song is based on a written version of this tale from 1853.

In the video the stranger seeking revenge is dressed in black, while the murderer is dressed in white. Soon a battle commences between the two men, starting off with Halling, a traditional Norwegian folk dance, before they fight to death.

Though the deadly outcome of the dance may seem farfetched in this day and age, the reality was quite different back when Hemnarsverdet was sung far and wide.

In fact, in the 18th century more than 50 killings were recorded as a result of battels between Halling dancers. Which may also explain why some of the songs from this era also depicts Halling and Halling music as sinful and dangerous activities, where you were likely to be lured into sinful actions or alliances with the Devil.

With “Til Nord”, Gåte deliver an emotive and epic collection of tracks, revisiting some of their own classics and adding a new track as a taste of great things to come. They are delving even deeper into the musical past of their country, with a contemporary approach.

Dublin’s GREYFACE Release Video for New Single ‘Underground Star’

Dublin’s genre-bending GREYFACE release their video for new new single ‘Underground Star‘, out now.

As intriguing sounding as they are looking, Dublin’s GREYFACE hit the scene at full speed with first single ‘Yin’, and they continue apace with the release of their angst riddled, raging new single ‘Underground Star’. As insanely talented as they are youthful, this unique band should be on everyone’s radar as the ones to watch.

Stream/Buy ‘Underground Star’ here: https://smarturl.it/2ornf7

GREYFACE are an Alternative group based in Dublin city. The band’s philosophy is loosely based on the universal Freudian/Jungian ideas of the inner shadow. Each member of the group names and paints this inner idea most people choose to ignore, or reject for its undesirability. The group refer to their shadow as their ‘GREYFACE’, taking these ideas to the stage in a theatrical and explosive way.

Through high-energy performance, the band performs a stylized mix of music branching from hip-hop, to rock/metal, to electronica. The group performs regularly with backing from MCD, having opened for ‘As It Is’ in The Academy Dublin and performing at Wacken Open Air in Germany.

The current lineup of GREYFACE consists of the following four members:
Shaye – Vocals
Icarus – Guitar
Evra – Bass
Éalú – Drums

After their debut single ‘Yin’ was played on radio stations nationwide, the group received positive press Irish music and politics magazine, Hot Press, interviewing frontman Shaye in the “Hot For 2020 Issue,” and describing them as “A force to be reckoned with” after attending a live concert.

The group now returns with their second single, ‘Underground Star‘. The four piece along with backing vocalists present a hooky anthem with industrial inspired riffs, boasting lyrics layered in irony and self-deprecation. The fictional character Underground Star personifies the clichéd desires of rockstar celebrity narcissism, critiquing popular culture and humanities’ obsessions with violence, sex and self-destruction.

GOST Release New Song “A Fleeting Whisper” From Upcoming Album

GOST has just released “A Fleeting Whisper”, a new song taken from his upcoming album, “Rites of Love and Reverence”, that is due for a release on August, Friday 13th. Join the coven and click here for the video clip:

There is more to this than meets the eye though: “’A Fleeting Whisper’ is an homage to not only navigating spirituality but simply being human”, GOST explains. “The uncertainty of life makes living both beautiful and terrifying. We all carry around so many similar insecurities and feelings of doubt in this modern digital age. A time in our history which promises ultimate connectivity seems, all too often, to leave many of us feeling increasingly disconnected and alone. Music has always been a way for us to forget our differences and come together as a species.  Personally, music has been the one true constant in my life and in many ways, the only true spirituality I have found solace in. Like a fleeting whisper, sometimes almost undetectable, music ties the events of my life together.”

“Rites of Love and Reverence” is both an album of beautifully crafted songs and a fascinating and intuitively gothic journey, rich with thoughts of supernatural wickedness and real world retribution.

“The lyrics were inspired by witchcraft themes,” says the man himself. “It’s mainly about how witchcraft has affected women throughout history. Witch trials and the subsequent executions throughout the ages terrify me. I fear, as a society, we are always on the verge of such horrible psychosis based on the misunderstanding and intolerance of one another. I try to educate myself on any historical subject I use as an influence, out of respect for the real people who actually lived through it.”

In keeping with its dark theme, “Rites of Love and Reverence” arrives adorned with the most stunning image GOST has used to date, created by celebrated doyen of macabre art, Nona Limmen. Both eerily psychedelic and hazily mysterious, it’s the perfect visual representation of this extraordinary record’s grim but vivid depths.

The perfect soundtrack to these uncertain and frequently horrifying times, “Rites of Love and Reverence” renders GOST’s post-synthwave exploits in kaleidoscopic technicolor, delivering all the glass-shattering grit, incisive melodic melancholy and tripped-out, electronic fervour that his ever-expanding army of admirers demand.

In the past GOST has become renowned as a potent and idiosyncratic live act. Over the last few years he has shared stages with Perturbator, 3TEETH, Mayhem, Carpenter Brut, Power Trip, The Black Dahlia Murder, Midnight, Pig Destroyer and many more, while several headline tours of North America and Europe have further consolidated that already robust reputation.

GOST previously released the following track and video: “Coven”: https://youtu.be/zT6m54oeCes

ENDSEEKER Launch Cover Version for John Carpenter Classic “Escape From New York”

This past April, ENDSEEKER released their new full-length, Mount Carcass, via Metal Blade Records – which debuted at #22 on the German charts! Today, the band has launched a video for the album track, “Escape From New York” – a cover version of the John Carpenter classic! Stream it now here:

Endseeker comments: “We have a long tradition of cover songs, but this is the first time we chose an instrumental track, and even a main theme from a movie, but 2021 is the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter‘s masterpiece, which just never gets old. The main theme has this iconic beat and mesmerizing melodies that sound so creepy and haunting in their original synth sound that we thought this would be the perfect template for a massive metal version. When we started to play around with it and try out different things for the arrangement, it was clear very fast that this works out absolutely great. We tried to stick quite close to the original and keep that eerie feeling over the song as a deeply respectful homage to this awesome movie and composition.”

New vinyl colors of Mount Carcass, plus band merch, are now available at: eu.kingsroadmerch.com and indiemerch.com

Purchase and stream Mount Carcass worldwide at: metalblade.com/endseeker

Having become one of the premier German death metal bands – and rapidly rising the ranks of the genre as a whole – Endseeker storm back into the fray with Mount Carcass. Building on the groundwork laid down on 2017’s Flesh Hammer Prophecy and having the difficult task of besting 2019’s stunning The Harvest, they have returned with a streamlined, powerful collection that further raises the bar.

Like both of its predecessors, Mount Carcass was recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Eike Freese at Chameleon Studios in Hamburg, Germany. Going into the record, Endseeker knew they wanted something rawer and more organic than The Harvest, and while Covid was causing global havoc, the band embraced the time they would have otherwise spent touring, using it to rehearse and discuss what they wanted the record to be. From this process they knew they wanted the songs to be quite straightforward and even have something of a “punkish / crust feel, so to speak. The songs are pretty reduced to the core with all the ballast removed. Every part and every riff has a meaning and isn’t just there for no other reason than extending the song. The album is also very melodic. There are a bunch of very strong guitar hooks and vocal compositions that really stick in your ears for days. It’s way simpler and probably more easy to listen to compared to ‘The Harvest‘ or ‘Flesh Hammer Prophecy‘, but at the same time, it has a very spontaneous and lively attitude with a big chunk of personality.” To keep the genre sounding fresh in 2021, they focused on the production, having just a touch of the old school vibe to remain rooted, and they did not limit themselves too hard to the Swedish death metal style of songwriting they previously embraced, but also let other influences into their songs. “You can hear all kinds of stuff that is inspired by bands like Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower, Slayer, Dissection, Gorefest, etc. We listen to so many different bands, and somehow, a bit from all of this keeps adding to our music.”

The single features a fabulous duet between Johanna of LUCIFER and Elin Larsson of Blues Pills and is now available on all major streaming platforms HERE!

Recorded in the band’s own studio, Elin Larsson was the perfect fit for this powerful soul ballad and comments as follows:

“I had the great pleasure workin’ together with LUCIFER! Lots of music and good vibes!

A special visualizer video based on the cover can be screened HERE!

Side B features a live version of the LUCIFER track “Cemetery Eyes”, which was recorded during last year’s Century Media Isolation Festival and will now be available physically in this version for the first time.

If you missed LUCIFER’s performance at the Century Media Isolation Festival, go check HERE.

Tracklisting:

SIDE A

“Gone With The Wind Is My Love” (feat. Elin Larsson [Blues Pills])

SIDE B

“Cemetery Eyes (Live)” (recorded at Century Media Isolation Festival 2020)

As the band is currently busy working on their international high praised 2020 follow-up “LUCIFER IV”, Nicke comments the current working progress as follows:

“We’re almost done mixing our new album “Lucifer IV” and with the risk of completely jinxing it, I think it’s safe to say we all have a pretty good feeling about this one. Obviously we like it and we can’t wait for people to hear it. If ‘Lucifer III’ was our Black Sabbath meets Fleetwood Mac album then ABBA hangs out with Trouble on this one. It’s that heavy.”
