YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Releases New Track ‘Relentless Fury’

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group have announced the release of a new studio album titled PARABELLUM on July 23. The album will be available on CD, Red Tranparent LP and digital. Today, they present “Wolves At The Door” which can be previewed below.  The pre-order has gone live here: http://smarturl.it/Yngwie_Malmsteen.

The name of Yngwie Malmsteen has always stood for uncompromising excellence. In a career that now spans more than 40 years he has proven himself to be a unique artist. You can try to categorise him in any way you wish. But the manner in which this supreme Swedish craftsman has continually developed his music makes Malmsteen sublimely transcend any definition you attempt to impose.
He now has a catalogue of 21 solo studio albums, each of which has much to commend. Moreover, the guitarist played a crucial role in helping to establish Alcatrazz as a significant force in the 1980s. Malmsteen’s artistry has always clearly incorporated a healthy virtuosity, but his talent goes well beyond a comprehensive control of the guitar. The man is a fine composer and, on recent releases, has also showcased a strong vocal presence.

The striking portrait on the cover was painted by the accliamed artist David Benegas. Malmsteem states, “That was my wife April’s idea. David lives near us in Florida, and we were talking to him about other projects. I did a photo shoot with Mark Weiss, who I think is a great photographer and someone I’ve worked with for a long time. Then David based the portrait on this.  The painting itself is huge, and we’ve had the idea to use it to raise money for the April Way Children’s Foundation (‘dedicated to bringing the artists of the world together to give hope to kids, teens, and young adults that have been orphaned or are in foster care all across the world’).”

In closing he shares, “The bottom line for me is that the passion I feel for the music I make has to be obvious. I am the sort of person who lives in the moment. I wanted this album to have a joyous, spontaneous atmosphere. This must never sound as if it’s been rehearsed so much that it becomes routine.  I hope people will put on this record at the start and listen right through to the end, from start to finish. I recorded this as a singular piece of art. Not as a collection of 10 tracks you can hear in any order you want.  I was asked by Mascot what song would be the lead track. The one for which I’d do a video. You know what? I’d like to do videos for everything here. I view this album as having a natural flow from start to finish. It’s not to be cut up into little pieces. I want fans to experience the delight I had in making it.”

THRONEUM & KINGDOM Reveal Details of “ThronDom des Bösen” Split Album

THRONEUM and KINGDOM, two legends of Polish underground death metal. Both having a rich heritage and history. For many years in the underground, they have been constantly spreading the art of death. Throneum, authors of ten full-length albums, meets Kingdom, which has five of them. These two powers have decided to join forces and thanks to this, we can proudly announce that the split entitled ‘ThronDom des Bösen’ will be released on June 7th. It will be available on vinyl and in digital format.

You can check it out in its entirety here: http://bit.ly/ThronDomDesBösen

Throneum once again throws the listener into the depths of chaos. Perfect, broken, crazy riffs take us into the world of ancient darkness, which – thanks to possessed vocals – reach the recipient with double power. Four compositions, with a cover of Finnish Unholy, are a crazy death metal carousel, which once again escapes from all categories and labeling. After them comes the ruthless Kingdom, with their blasphemous death metal, sparing no sanctity. The longest composition in the history of the band is a journey through hatred, blasphemy, desecration and madness.  Kingdom attacks, as always, but also forces you to reflect. Their part ends with a cover of The Sisters Of Mercy, which would have massacred Eldritch himself!

Throneum part was recorded in the fall of 2018 and in the beginning of 2019. Mixed and mastered by Bloodwimp in July 2019.

Kingdom tracks were recorded in the end of Anno Bastardi 2019 in Garaz Studio. Mixed and mastered by Mateu-sz.

Cover art by Klaudio Witchak. Cover artwork colors and layout design by Maciej Kamuda.

Tracklist:
01. THRONEUM – Ereshkigal
02. THRONEUM – The Death Like Silence
03. THRONEUM – Affirmation
04. THRONEUM – Neverending Day (Unholy Cover)

THE ABSENCE Unveil Video For ‘Black Providence’

Florida-based melo-death masters THE ABSENCE have unveiled a music video for “Black Providence,” the third preview track from the group’s new album “Coffinized,” which will be released June 25 via M-Theory Audio.

The video is now streaming at Metal Injection and can be viewed at this location. The song itself is available now for streaming and download at all digital music outlets.

“We have never been ones to shy away from a slower tempo,” explains drummer Jeramie Kling. “And on ‘Black Providence,’ the sheer density becomes whole within the monolithic cadence. Sometimes we find ourselves afraid to face the pain of reality. The only way to achieve solace is to push through it; to make the tough decisions; to not take the easy way out.”

Hailed by Decibel for “leaving the majority of melodic death metal’s recent history chewing dust,” “Coffinized” – which can be pre-ordered on CD and limited-edition colored vinyl at smarturl.com/coffinized – is THE ABSENCE’s follow-up to their acclaimed 2018 comeback record, “A Gift For The Obsessed.” That album was the band’s first in eight years, as well as their first for new label home M-Theory Audio. The time period between that album’s release and the COVID outbreak saw the band stay busy by taking their new songs to the road, touring alongside acts such as Deicide, Origin, Jungle Rot, Exmortus and Hatchet. The group’s members also stayed busy with outside endeavors, with drummer Jeramie Kling manning the kit for Venom Inc., bassist Mike Leon, a member with Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy and guitarist Taylor Nordberg playing with Massacre.

Those three band members took the experiences from their touring gigs and reconvened in the studio with Stewart – who has also been busy with his other project, Hot Graves – to put together the 11 tracks of pummeling death metal that compose “Coffinized.” The album was produced and engineered by Kling and Nordberg, mixed by Kling and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren (Immortal, Overkill, Scar Symmetry) at Sweden’s Black Lounge Studios. Its track listing is as follows:

Coffinized
Future Terminal
Choirs of Sickness
Radiant DevastaXon
Cathedral Dawn
Black Providence
Discordia
Treacherous
This Consuming Nocturne
Aperture Expands
Faith in Uncreation

The music video for the title track for “Coffinized” can be viewed at https://youtu.be/urazX0XlLBU and the music video for “Choirs of Sickness” can be viewed at https://youtu.be/EL_AnHkA91M

THE ABSENCE first burst onto the scene in 2005 with their crushing, Erik Rutan-produced Metal Blade debut “From Your Grave.” That album and its two follow-ups, 2007’s “Riders of the Plague” and 2010’s “Enemy Unbound,” showcased a perfect mixture of heart wrenching melodies and skull-pounding aggression, truly making them one of the premiere bands of the melodic death metal scene. THE ABSENCE further cemented their reputation via numerous tours supporting some of the biggest names in metal, including Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Amon Amarth, Sabaton, Goatwhore, Evergrey, Malevolent Creation, Kataklysm and Destruction. Following a lengthy hiatus, the band regrouped in 2016 with a new lineup uniting founding members Stewart and Kling with long-time bassist Leon and guitarists Nordberg and Joey Concepcion for “A Gift for The Obsessed.” (Concepcion appears on four tracks on “Coffinized.”)

BAD WOLVES Announce New Lead Singer Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz, New Album Coming

Multi-platinum-selling, chart-topping BAD WOLVES officially welcome celebrated singer-songwriter Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz as their new lead singer, following former lead singer Tommy Vext’s public departure from the band earlier this year.

Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz

Bad Wolves are led by co-founding member and drummer John Boecklin – who has honored his commitment to Bad Wolves’ fans by continuing with the group when the previous singer quit in January 2021. Bad Wolves broke the news on their social media today with the following statement:

We are excited to officially announce that Bad Wolves has a new singer –Daniel “DL” Lasckiewicz.  DL is a tremendous songwriter and singer, and we can confidently say that the album we are working on, titled Dear Monsters, is the best Bad Wolves album to date.

DL is one of the most talented and hard-working people we have ever had the pleasure to know.  He is a team player, a creative force, and overall a great human being who fits perfectly with our BW family. It feels incredible to be surrounded with such positive energy and the music we’ve made is certainly reflective of this new-found optimism and collaborative spirit.  This new album shows a more cohesive and unique reflection of the band. There is a lot to prove and expectations are high with a new singer coming in. And we nailed it. The songs speak for themselves, and if you’re a Bad Wolves fan we know you won’t be disappointed.

So much has happened since Tommy publicly quit Bad Wolves a few months ago – and we disagree with the validity of much of what he has said publicly about our parting of ways – but we would prefer to not look back on the past and instead focus on this new chapter. And most importantly, we’d like to let the music speak for itself.  Thanks for believing in Bad Wolves and please join us in welcoming DL to the family.  We can’t wait for you to hear what’s coming.

John, Doc, Chris, Kyle & DL

DL has carved out an impressive career for himself over the last 15+ years, most notably as a founding member and lead guitarist of metalcore band The Acacia Strain, in which he was a member since 2001-2013. A talented songwriter and producer, he’s also worked on projects with All That Remains, Legion, For the Fallen Dreams, and collaborated with Bad Wolves on their 2019 studio album N.A.T.I.O.N., where the creative relationship with the band started.

BAD WOLVES are signed to Better Noise Music and are recording their third studio album, their first with DL, expected to be released later this year.

THY KINGDOM WILL BURN Release New Video ‘Rise Against’

Finnish melodic death metal band THY KINGDOM WILL BURN have released a video for the song ‘Rise Against’ – the second single from their self-titled debut album, out on June 18th, 2021 on Scarlet Records.

In the band’s own words: “This song is a real groove monster so prepare to mosh! It’s one of the oldest songs in the record and presents the aggressive side of the album. The video was filmed in a over 100 year’s old closed coal-fired power plant from our childhood landscape. The song turned out to be a strong live number and it’s more than suitable for our first official music video!”

‘Thy Kingdom Will Burn’ has been engineered, mixed and mastered by Juho Räihä at SoundSpiral Audio (To/Die/For, Swallow The Sun, Before The Dawn, Wolfheart). The superb, Lovecraftian artwork was made by Richard Luong-Tentacles and Teeth.

Prepare for the never-ending winter, prepare for a cathartic season of sorrow: Thy Kingdom Will Burn.
