Norwegian Extreme metal act ILLT unchain their ferocious new single “Millennial Judas” today! If you’re ready for a 7-minute sonic savagery, turn up the volume and listen to it here: https://orcd.co/millennialjudas

“Millennial Judas” is the fourth single off their upcoming debut album “Urhat”, to be released this Fall via Indie Recordings!

ILLT is the alter ego of Norwegian composer and guitarist Roy Westad. It’s an uncompromising sandbox and a culmination of decades of passion and love for extreme metal as an art form. His debut album features session musicians from Megadeth, Soilwork, Chrome Division and Nile. The album was mixed by Kurt Ballou @ Godcity and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Alan Douches.

ILLT has commented: «Millennial Judas is a segmented and nightmarish bird’s-eye view of where we all came from, who we are, and where I fear humanity is headed. It deals with everything from religious fanaticism, ignorance, corrupt leaders, our self-destructive nature, and technology as a loaded gun in the hands of a toddler. It’s angry, bitter, desperate and sad. If you’re looking for a glimmer of hope in these dark times, you won’t find it here. However, if you’re in need of a 7-minute relentless beating in riff-form, look no further!”

Vocals: Björn Strid
Guitars & Bass: ILLT
Drums: Dirk Verbeuren
Lead Guitars: Mr.Damage, Karl Sanders (Nile)

Multi-platinum Danish band VOLBEAT announce the debut of two new songs for Summer,  “Wait A Minute My Girl” and “Dagen Før.” The two tracks, the band’s first new music since 2019’s album Rewind, Replay, Rebound, were written and recorded while the world was in lockdown during the pandemic. Michael, Kaspar and Jon recorded their parts with long-time producer Jacob Hansen in Denmark, while Rob worked remotely from New York. The band says about the songs: “As the weather begins to warm and the days get longer in many parts of the world, we wanted to share two songs that we wrote and recorded over these long, difficult fifteen months that have the vibe and feel of Summer. We’re beyond thankful that even during a lockdown our good friends Doug, Ray and Mia Maja were able to put the pedal to the metal with us on “Wait A Minute My Girl,” and we’re absolutely thrilled that Stine Bramsen, who we’ve known and admired for a long time, was willing to lend her incredible talents to “Dagen Før.” We hope you enjoy this double-barreled blast of Summer tunes as much as we enjoyed creating them, and we can’t wait for you to hear what else we have in store for you. The Fall always brings the thunder and lightning…”

“Wait A Minute My Girl” features saxophone player Doug Corcoran and piano player Raynier Jacob Jacildo, who both perform with JD McPherson’s band and previously appeared with Volbeat on 2019’s “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon).” Singer Mia Maja, who has worked with the band since Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie, also appears on backing vocals. “Dagen Før” features guest vocals from Danish artist Stine Bramsen, who is known for her solo work as well as being a member of the band Alphabeat. The song, in the tradition of “The Garden’s Tale,” “Maybele I Hofteholder” and “For Evigt,” features both English and Danish lyrics, and marks the first commercially-released song that features Stine singing in her native Danish. Watch the lyric videos for each song here.

Since forming in 2001, Volbeat has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (and becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of eight record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including eight #1s on the US Mainstream Rock chart and counting), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades (including a Grammy nomination) all over the planet. Their latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, was released on August 2nd, 2019 and has spawned the hit singles “Last Day Under The Sun,” “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” and “Leviathan.” A live album featuring songs recorded during the subsequent world tour, Rewind, Replay, Rebound: Live in Deutschland, was released digitally on November 27th, 2020. A vinyl-only bonus track compilation, Hokus Bonus, was originally made available on limited-edition vinyl on RSD Black Friday 2020 and will be available in a new, limited European version and a North American standard version on July 16, 2021. The band eagerly await their return to the road beginning this October with an appearance on Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA.

Japanese XANVALA Drop First EP “Gayoku No Maku”

Promising Japanese rockers XANVALA have released a first EP titled Gayoku no maku on June 2. This work contains 6 tracks plus a DVD featuring the music video for “Hitori butai”.

Since the formation of the band in 2020, XANVALA has proved to be a must-listen for any rock music fan. Their fresh and energetic essence is showcased through the songs presented on this EP. The promotional track, “Hitori butai”, stands out with catchy riffs and a vibrant rhythm combined with the emotional voice of Tatsumi.

In contrast to the ferociously loud single Janome that came out in January, XANVALA presents a brighter sound for this work. Despite this, tracks like “ratchet” or “Tragedy wa gitaisuru” are proof that the aggressive side is still present.

Prior to this release, the music video for “Dare ga tame no koufukuron” (from the singles compilation Roku jyuusou) was unleashed in March for the delight of fans of their earlier songs. The unstoppable race of XANVALA is underway as a new limited single has been already announced. The single Bamby will be available to purchase only at concerts from June 7.

XANVALA has been forced to slow down the pace due to the outbreak of the pandemic, but they are still aiming to reach more areas in Japan as far as the circumstances allow, and of course, hoping to tour internationally in the near future as well. For the time being, the band will be doing a Japanese one-man tour in August that includes Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Sendai.

As the curtain rises, witness the act that XANVALA has put on for the world to see!

About XANVALA

XANVALA is a Japanese Rock / Visual Kei band that started activities in early 2020. Their music features a heavy yet melodic sound, in conjunction with dynamic guitar riffs, electronic backings, and powerful vocal lines. The band brings a combination of elements from different influences, without attaching to just one particular style. Under the concept of “messy things are beautiful” and the name XANVALA (pronounced as “zanbala”) carrying the meaning of “disheveled hair”, it goes without saying that headbanging is a must at concerts! XANAVALA’s intense rock has received a good response and attracted many listeners, fueling the spirits of the members to continue breaking into the scene with full determination.

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal 9th Video Episode “Exorcism”

Symphonic death metal pioneers GENUS ORDINIS DEI have released the ninth music video episode entitled  “Exorcism” from their critically acclaimed & highly praised concept album entitled Glare Of Deliverance. The video was directed by Steve Saints. In this episode, The Cross tries to break the ritual by exorcising Eleanor however, just as all hope is lost she proves herself worthy to serve The Fallen… Watch the new “Exorcism” music video / Episode 9 from Glare Of Deliverance at this location or watch the first nine episodes RIGHT NOW via the official series playlist located here and stay tuned for the final episode which will be revealed on July 12!

“The ninth episode of this series reaches the climax of Eleanor’s adventure. After the abjuration fails and her bond with the occult is revealed, she is declared possessed by the Devil and The Inquisitor performs an exorcism on her. At this point Eleanor reaches the peak of her transformation and the situation changes dramatically” says vocalist & guitarist Nick Key. “This episode shows the meaning of Eleanor’s journey. All the events of the prior episodes brought her here, face to face with the Inquisitor. She now has the chance and the will to commit the most extreme action, that of becoming worthy to serve The Fallen and fulfill the ritual.” Guitarist Tommy adds “Both Nick and Emilia performed brilliantly, especially at the beginning of the episode when they dance on a walzer. The dance is a metaphor for the Inquisitor that overwhelms an exhausted Eleanor, playing with her before releasing his power on her, like a feline playing with its prey before killing it. This is the most dense episode of the series and the turns of events will leave you speechless, it’s a promise.”

Glare of Deliverance was produced at Sonitus Studio by Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht), and it is the band’s third full-length album. The album was released on December 4, 2020 and has received dozens of rave reviews from all over the world. For just a sample of highlights, see here.

Glare Of Deliverance is the band’s most ambitious achievement yet. The scope and vision of the project had grown monumentally huge in comparison to their initial plans for the album. Aside from recording & producing a ten-song concept album, the band had to pull together a full production team for the ten-episode video series which consisted of concept artist Tom Roberts (Ghost), costume designer Floriana Setti, animal trainers from Wild Horses Ranch, prop & mask constructor Alessandra Faienza, a cast of actors & actresses starring Emilia Scarpati Fanetti as Eleanor, visual effects supervisors, special effects wizards, stuntmen, catering services, and even a full orchestral choir, Il Circolo Delle Quinte conducted by Margherita Colombo!

Byzantine released their latest album, The Cicada Tree, to critical acclaim in 2017. To state that The Cicada Tree is “classic Byzantine” in no way implies that this is an album solely rooted in the band’s past. Certainly, all of the hallmarks that have made their sound so compelling for close to two decades are present and correct: muscular yet lithe riffs and fluid leads play against gripping, dynamic and at times unpredictable rhythms, while rich melodies and lyrics that are both involved and intelligent wind their way through every track. But, once more, the groove metal unit has continued their steady evolution – the interplay between their members organic and natural, imbuing the record’s sixty-two-minute running time with a freshness and urgency.
