GHØSTKID’s music is a headlong dive into darkness and aggression. It aligns on new paradigms: baring its teeth while keeping a sense for catchy melodies. GHØSTKID is the new namesake of Sebastian “Sushi“ Biesler and a conspiracy of friends and likeminded allies who have come to a riot of their own.
In November of last year the band released their self-titled debut album to much acclaim and secured a position #34 in the Official German Album Charts. The only thing missing in their agenda were live shows to introduce the band to their new fans – until now. Come July GHØSTKID will play a handful of selected Social Distance Shows:
Kingstar presents: GHØSTKID Social Distance Shows 2021 Presented by Fuze, More Core

GHØSTKID comments: “What we miss the most is playing live! Even if a social distance show has a different kind of energy this set of shows will be a reminder of how it feels to be on stage again. They are a great opportunity to give a little bit of support to those who struggle due to the pandemic such as clubs, crew and artists. We‘re really looking forward to this little tour and we will give our very best to make it unforgettable for you guys and girls!”

Spanish LAST DAYS OF EDEN have signed a worldwide contract with the German record label El Puerto Records! The SYMPHONIC FOLK METAL sextet from the Asturias region will release their third album in autumn 2021 and are then planning a release tour with RAGE.
The Band explains: „We are so excited with this new era for Last Days of Eden & El Puerto Records working together. We felt really connected with the label since the very first conversations, and we were amazed not only for the professional approach as an international label growing so fast and working as piece of german machinery, but the proximity and humanity of the team behind the label too. We are pretty sure that this is going to be a huge step in the band´s career and that we will be finally bringing our celtic-symphonic stuff to every corner in the World.“
Matt Bischof, Head of Promotion of El Puerto Records is enthusiastic: “Even in apparently clear music genres such as symphonic metal, you have to listen very carefully to actually discover one or the other treasure. We are happy to have found a pearl in LAST DAYS OF EDEN. Musically they have a lot to offer with an impressive range from epic / bombastic to celtic dreamy. We look forward to future cooperation!”

Satyricon & Munch – 26/3/2022 From the Munch Museum:The Norwegian Black Metal band SATYRICON meets Edvard Munch’s art. The exhibition Satyricon & Munch explores the intersection of Black Metal and visual art, where a specially composed musical work is connected with a selection of Edvard Munch’s images. When you enter the large hall on MUNCH’s tenth floor, this exhibition will create an atmosphere that opens up new entrances to Edvard Munch’s work, and to SATYRICON’s music.
From SATYRICON:Since the fall of 2018, SATYRICON has been working on the writing and recording of a musical work whose main objective is to create a symbiosis with Edvard Munch’s iconic art in an exhibition that will be held at the new Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway, opening 26/3/2022. Following the exhibition will be the release of the musical work in album format, carrying the same title as the exhibition, Satyricon & Munch.
“We consider this massive challenge the greatest honor of our career. Edvard Munch created some of the most iconic images in the world of art and through his career demonstrated the kind of courage and freedom we have always embraced and aspired to us as artists ourselves. To write music whose ambition is to take the art of Munch into uncharted territory, is quite a journey to be on”, says SATYRICON. “We look forward to sharing more details with you in the coming months”.

In 2018, legendary heavy metal vocalist and pop culture pillar DEE SNIDER turned the heavy music world on its axis with his transformative album, For The Love Of Metal. Produced by Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta, the album re-cemented Dee’s undeniable prowess with its modernized mastery and take-no-prisoners attitude. Three years later, with one of the most collectively tumultuous times society has ever experienced behind him, DEE SNIDER triumphantly returns with his fifth full-length album, Leave A Scar, out July 30, 2021 via Napalm Records!
Once again produced by Jamey Jasta with co-production, mixing and mastering by drummer Nick Bellmore, Leave A Scar sees DEE SNIDER & Co. continuing in the invigorated direction of For The Love Of Metal, infusing a dose of classic heavy metal flavor that longtime fans will rush to embrace.
In celebration of the album’s announcement, DEE SNIDER has unleashed the album’s first single, the charging track “I Gotta Rock (Again)”, accompanied by a new music video. The track first premiered yesterday via SiriusXM Liquid Metal. Channeling his years as one of music’s most respected vocalists while harnessing modern flair, DEE SNIDER delivers a headbanging anthem of lifelong dedication to heavy metal – no matter what!
DEE SNIDER says about “I Gotta Rock (Again)”: “‘I Gotta Rock (Again)’ is the starting gun for this album and the driving motivation behind me returning to the studio to record Leave a Scar. At the end of 2019, I had felt my recording and live performing was over, but I didn’t announce it to the world. I mentally had decided I was done. But the state of things in 2020 had other plans for me. Between Covid and the political state around the globe, I found myself yearning (yes, I yearn) to get back in the studio. In the immortal words of Ice Cube, “I got somethin’ to say!”

Like a scar itself, Leave A Scar is an illuminating plentitude of angst etched in time – serving as a musical refuge and expressive output for Dee. But in turn, this auditory time capsule written to express the anger, unease and pain he experienced during lockdown emerges as not only blisteringly heavy, but relentlessly powerful. Each of the 12 tracks on Leave A Scar not only further bolster DEE SNIDER’s position as one of the most celebrated frontmen of all time, showcasing that his vocal delivery and commanding swagger is as strong as ever, but that he is nowhere near stopping.
Heads will bang within seconds of the hard-charging opening notes of ultra-catchy album starter and lifer anthem “I Gotta Rock (Again)”, instantly setting the stage for the non-stop onslaught of metallic mainstays to come. Tracks like the brutal “Time To Choose” – featuring the primed guest vocal attack of Cannibal Corpse’s George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher – and mosh-ready “The Reckoning” showcase the album’s heavy assault, without sacrificing the harmonic goodness evident on tracks like the unrelenting, hooky thrasher “All Or Nothing More” and melodic, metalcore inspired “In For The Kill”. Energetic single of strength “Down But Never Out” encapsulates the chunky riffage and driving drums palpable throughout the album, while searing “Before I Go” provides one of the album’s most massive, memorable choruses and chilling lyrics. The album closes with victorious ballad “Stand”, a call for listeners to take a stand and make their voices heard. If For The Love Of Metal ignited DEE SNIDER’s eminent surge into a new era – Leave A Scarsets it ablaze.
DEE SNIDER says about Leave A Scar: “By the end of 2020, I knew I not only had to get back into the studio, but for the first time since the ’90s, I wanted – no, needed – to be a part of the writing process. I reached out to my producer Jamey Jasta and told him I was ready to make another record. Leave a Scar is filled with messages to and for the silent voices in the world who need someone to speak out on their behalf. This is my purpose.”
Jamey Jasta says regarding working with DEE SNIDER again: “Getting to work with Dee again has been incredible! The power and range in his vocals on this album really shine. Not only is he an American treasure and staple in the rock/metal community, he’s a truly original voice and talent like no other. Combine that with the metallic prowess of the Bellmore bros + Russell Pzütto and Nick Petrino, you get a rockin’ metal recipe that even the most “Dee-hard” SMF’ers will surely love!”
Leave A Scar tracklisting: 1) I Gotta Rock (Again) 2) All Or Nothing More 3) Down But Never Out 4) Before I Go 5) Open Season 6) Silent Battles 7) Crying For Your Life 8) In For The Kill 9) Time To Choose 10) S.H.E. 11) The Reckoning 12) Stand
Gru-Metallers DEATH POP RADIO have teamed up with Metal Shock Finland to premiere worldwide their new video ‘F#@k It!’, taken from the band’s self-titled debut album which was released on May 7th via Dark Star Records.
Watch the video here:
Furthermore Metal Shock Finland had a pleasure to interview the band, read it below.
‘F#@k It!’ is taken from your self-titled debut album which was released on May 7th via Dark Star Records. Please tell us more on how the debut album came together?
We put the album together with a mix of songs from our time as Ravens (which we changed in the early days of COVID) and new songs we had been working on. Before we knew it we had a full; album ready that flowed well.
Talking about the songs themselves, from where you take the topics and inspiration?
Much of the lyrical content of this album is from a social observation point of view, both internal (how we view ourselves) and external (how we see the world and others in this current social media driven time we live in).
Please tell us more about DEATH POP RADIO as a band and its curious name.
Our original band name was Ravens which was derived from the first song Ravens (which is on the album). We changed it during COVID as we saw an opportunity to rebrand ourselves and to help make ourselves a little easier to find in a general search engine.
Death-POP-Radio Death – Many of our songs speak of death and dying, but not in a traditional manner. We speak more to the death of ones self when no truly living in truth. When you let your entire world become defined by how you want the world to think of you rather than who you truly are. Pop – While we are a heavy metal, grunge-punk, nu-metal style band….or Gru-Metal, we all come from a background of musical genres that still had a pop element. Hooks and catchy phrasings, etc. Radio – This is just a way to convey our desire to hit as many ears as possible, much like a radio does.
How would you describe your musical genre?
As mentioned above, perhaps we’re the first known Gru-Metal band 🙂
As we don’t yet know when the proper shows and tours will be again possible, how will you support the album in the meantime?
Live venues are beginning to open up and we have a seek and destroy attitude with our live shows. If you aren’t there to see us, we want to make sure you’re leaving wanting to see us again. We do a number of our own shows as well as a few opening slots for national acts that come through our area. We are also hoping to do some travel dates as they become available. We also have a pretty extensive radio push with our parters in New Ocean Media getting airplay throughout the US both on terrestrial radio as well as online radio.
And what about your future plans?
Future plans are much like the current plan, write, record, repeat, and reach out.
Now the word is yours, what is your message to our readers and your fans?
To everyone who is on this “Rat Tail” ride with us already (Rejects and Defects! You Rock!) and to those of you we hope will be joining with us, we just want you all to know how much we truly appreciate all your support and encouragement. While the world is always telling people to never give up on their dreams, and to push forward, that is not the message that the music world tells guys like us. But we have never given up on what we love to do, and that’s to create and share music. Not everything we do is going to resonate with every single ear, and for you crazy mo-fo’s to come along with us means the world to each of us and helps us realize these dreams are still fully in tact every day.

More about Death Pop Radio: DEATH POP RADIO began their journey as a song, not a band. A fun collaboration that quickly blossomed into a full-blown Hard-Pop-Grunge melting pot of backstories and musical experience.
Their debut single and video, “Ravens”, had thousands of views and hits within days. DEATH POP RADIO was born and came into the world with a natural buzz within the Chicago music scene.
The band started in late 2017 when guitarist Dee J Nelson ran into lead vocalist Eric Liljehorn at a King’s-X show in Chicago. A few quick words; a potential collaboration and mutual love for all things musical. The two began working on a few of Dee J’s songs together and both could tell something right away was simply “clicking”. Shortly after the release of “Ravens” it was clear a full band was in order. In need of a name, the band started out by temporarily using the title of its flagship song “Ravens” and while the temp name stuck longer than expected the guys eventually found the name that would fit them and their unique blend of rock and grunge – DEATH POP RADIO
Dee J and Eric were soon joined by two Chicago area veterans, drummer Jimmy B and bassist Mike Streicher. With a mixed bag rhythm section of thrashy, grunge drumming and hard rock bass added into the fray, DPR was on their way to creating their own flavor and sound. DPR’s haunted funhouse style is on full display in forthcoming singles include “Rock ’em Sock ’em” “Ravens”, and “Wake Up Drop Dead”. With their raw and driving rhythms and sing-along style hooks, DEATH POP RADIO’s sound sits comfortably somewhere between Kings X and White Zombie. Add in a sprinkle of industrial sound design and this blackbird soars. The response has been nothing short of overwhelming… Is it the death of pop? No, it’s just DEATH POP RADIO!
