Tokyo based “Samurais from Hell” SURVIVE – active in the world for 20+ years – will stream their first special performance “SURVIVE LIVE AT DEATH VALLEY” taking place on June 12th! Today the band has revealed a cool video trailer of the performance, watch it here: https://fb.watch/5zhzbQMp0N

SURVIVE’s frontman Nemo stated:
“Creation and destruction, the strongest streaming live ever! The entire trailer is finally unleashed!!! This is a movie that goes beyond streaming live! EyeWitness the moment.”

【ticket information】
Tickets at https://survive.zaiko.io/_item/339307
Streaming Ticket 19.15€
Streaming Ticket with Funeral Cat T-Shirt 42.13€

With numerous gigs home and abroad under their belt, SURVIVE continued to expand their base in spite of the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Last summer they released their first digital single “The Road to Hell is Paved by Goodwill”. In addition, on YouTube, they have streamed live talk sessions of all members, as well as playthrough videos of guitar and drums.

And finally, they are streaming a live performance! Entitled “SURVIVE LIVE AT DEATH VALLEY”, the event will showcase the band at a magnificent setting of a 50-meter precipitous cliff. With the beauty constantly next do death, the location radiates the energy of wild nature, precisely creating the atmosphere of “death valley”.

Instead of “live streaming”, the performance will be pre-recorded, edited and go through production before getting streamed. The band is right in the making of the full-length video right now. NEMO on vocal/guitar says:
“In the current circumstances where is has become difficult to actually experience our sound live at venues, we decided to do this because we wanted to offer a special experience for our fans, something different from our usual gigs, by streaming a thoroughly produced visual and audio work of art.”

The performance will feature eight songs including “HUMAN MISERY” from 2015 and the latest single “The Road to Hell is Paved by Goodwill”, along with the behind-the-scenes documentary footage of the dress rehearsal and an interview with the band.

In September 2020, SURVIVE released worldwide their digital EP and single “The Road to Hell is Paved by Goodwill”, feat. VENOM INC‘s Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan. Watch the official music video, here: https://youtu.be/OpDCsCP_8FA

Tokyo’s Thrash Heroes SURVIVE – active in the world for over 20 years – have forged their own indelible path within the jmetal scene. It was back in 1998, when former Death File guitarist and mastermind Nemo decided to form a thrash metal band of his own which soon became the juggernaut known as SURVIVE. Over the next two decades the band have played many big festivals (Loud Park, Beast Fest, Multiplex-motorbike event, Korean Live Rock, Formoz Festival, Asia Metal Festival, Dongducheon Rock Festival, Trendkill Extreme Feast, etc) and toured all over the world with acts such as Behemoth, United, Killswitch Engage, Dope, Pulling Teeth, Testament, Outrage, Anthrax, Hatebleed, Napalm Death, Amon Amarth, Venom Inc, At The Gates, to name just a few, cementing their place in Japanese metal history. Still going strong, SURVIVE‘s latest album “Immortal Warriors” was released to the Japanese market on September 12th, 2018 and a year later, on September 24th 2019, the album is out worldwide via Sliptrick Records. SURVIVE have lost none of their verve and “Immortal Warriors” is an absolute must for fans of this fantastic, often overlooked band.

LET US PREY Unveil Music Video For ‘In Suffering’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 19, 2021

Boston-based melodic power/thrash group LET US PREY have unveiled the music video for “In Suffering”, the latest single and edited version from the band’s 2020 full-length debut, “Virtues of the Vicious.” The clip debuted at Bravewords.com and can be viewed now below. Both the song and the music video are based on deeply personal emotional struggles that vocalist Marc Lopes (Ross The Boss) battled during the writing and recording of the record, and the video is being released in support of Mental Health Awareness Month efforts during the month of May.

“This is a different shade of the large palette of LET US PREY, but is very much a part of what we do,” says Lopes. “We believe heavy doesn’t always have to be barking vocals at a thousand miles a hour (which we do and love as well!). ‘In Suffering’ is a very personal dark journey I endured while writing and recording ‘Virtues of the Vicious.’ Dealing with depression and other aspects of mental dis-ease (as we like to call it, rather than a disease) is no easy task for myself and many. I wanted to release this song in awareness of the grossly overlooked issues of various forms of depression, anxiety and such among so many, especially teens and young adults. Suicide at the moment is at an all-time high stemming from the current state of the world. Being alone and in one’s own mind for long periods of time can bring our friend ‘darkness’ (as I call it) to come play and wreak havoc with our well-being. So many suffer in silence and shouldn’t have to. There is help on many levels these days, and by all means, if you are at that near-breaking point, PLEASE reach out. May is Mental Heath Awareness month, so it seems right to release such a song. I would leave this tune up to the individual’s interpretation, as I think it will resonate differently for each listener. It’s a metaphorical journey into my psyche at the time of writing this. It’s actually the first of a two-part story. The latter is coming soon as well, but for now please check it out and spread the word… and remember, YOU MATTER.”

“Virtues of the Vicious” – released by M-Theory Audio in July 2020 – featured guest appearances from a number of notable metal musicians, including Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall), “Metal” Mike Chlasciak (Halford, Testament), Jimi Bell (House of Lords, Autograph) and the late Oli Herbert (All That Remains) was described by Ghost Cult as “imagine if Lamb Of God played power metal like Blind Guardian” or as Heaviest of Art simply called “a rather glorious dose of heaviness” – seamlessly blended elements of seemingly disparate genres. LET US PREY’s mix of thrash, death, power and progressive metal elements were underpinned with industrial samples and symphonic keyboards, while Lopes matched those effortless shifts with his vocal performance, excelling at thrash/death metal growls, soaring melodic vocals, and searing Halford-esque highs with layered harmonies. Lopes also fronts Ross the Boss and was recently part of a popular quarantine collaboration featuring members of King Diamond, Exodus, Evile, and The Iron Maidens covering King Diamond’s “A Mansion in Darkness.” can be viewed at https://youtu.be/dtrZ4WrrFuE.

COVID-19 has prevented LET US PREY from scheduling live shows, but the group will soon be ready to continue impressing audiences as they did prior to 2020 on stages in and around the northeastern United States alongside the likes of Soilwork, Suffocation, Soulfly, Life of Agony, Metal Church, Battle Beast, Doro and Scar Symmetry, among others.

Season of Mist is proud to announce the signing of OBSIDIOUS! The extreme metal outfit will be releasing their debut album via the label early 2022. In celebration, OBSIDIOUS release a first new track which can now be viewed via the official Season of Mist YouTube channel HERE.

OBSIDIOUS comments: “We are beyond excited to finally share our first song ‘Iconic’, with the world! This release is the true beginning of our journey as OBSIDIOUS that started 14 months ago. As the first-ever song we wrote with OBSIDIOUS, ‘Iconic’ is all about our mission to push the boundaries of metal music while showcasing all the different aspects and nuances representing us as a group. We pour our hearts and minds into this band to leave our mark with the wonderful global modern metal community.“

Season of Mist CEO Michael Berberian comments on the signing: “As a long life long obscura fan, it was obsious that I had to sign Obsidious, a band that is fresh and not obsolete, and I will observe how things will progress, without any of the 2020 touring obstruction and fingers crossed no new obscene new disease.“

The track is available for pre-saving on all digital platforms HERE.

In April 2020 guitarist Rafael Trujillo, bassist Linus Klausenitzer and drummer Sebastian Lanser decided to move on from their former band OBSCURA to continue their musical path with the completely new band OBSIDIOUS. Free from former boundaries, OBSIDIOUS merge extreme metal with other genres of music into a unique style that people will somehow find familiar, but haven‘t heard yet. Together with their singer Javi Perera they set out to create a musical evolution: With a fresh name, reaching for new fan groups utilizing modern marketing ideas. OBSIDIOUS’ band members have many facets and influences to build upon, using virtuosity & technique to write great songs.

Rafael Trujillo, Linus Klausenitzer and Sebastian Lanser built a strong bond after years of worldwide touring and recording together with OBSCURA. With their last record “Diluvium”, that was primarily composed by the trio, the band celebrated their biggest success to date. Formerly unseen chart positions alongside massive praise by prominent media outlets & magazines document the success of this team. OBSIDIOUS aims to expand the existing fan base that they’ve gained: All (ex-)formations of the Obsidious members were defined through their musical characters.

The four band members that are based in Europe are known for their high musicianship and virtuosity. Their advanced technical level is an essential and unique part of their compositions. Guitarist Rafael Trujillo has a multicultural background and studied music in different countries all around the globe. Linus Klausenitzer is one of the busiest session bassists in the scene and renowned for his 7-string fretless bass sound. Strong drum independence skills and stylistic diversity make Sebastian Lanser one of the most influential drummers of the new generation. The web community shares the Ex-Obscura members’ excitement about singer Javi Perera being celebrated for his diverse and charismatic vocal skills.

OBSIDIOUS‘ music consists of modern riffs, strong decisive energetic melodies, virtuosity and epic unison lines. They love music that’s heavy, catchy, fast, and wild. The brand new album is currently being recorded and will be released via Season of Mist early 2022.

Lineup:
Linus Klausenitzer – Bass
Rafael Tujillo – Guitar
Javi Perera – Vocals
Sebastian Lanser – Drums
