LACUNA COIL Release New Live Track + Video “Apocalypse”

Italian metal giants LACUNA COIL just recently announced the release of a new live album, entitled “Live From The Apocalypse”, to be released on June 25th!

As of now the live version of “Apocalypse”, originally released on the latest studio album “Black Anima”, is available on all digital platforms! You can watch the video to “Apocalypse” taken from the bonus DVD here:

“Looking at the sand gliding down through the hourglass… ‘Apocalypse’ is factual and actual in today’s pandemic, though we couldn’t foresee this when we wrote it: the separation, the solitude, the confusion, the resilience. We keep on fighting for our will to survive.“ – Cristina Scabbia

“Apocalypse is usually a huge concept involving destruction or damage and the way the world ends. In our vision,  there’s no big apocalypse just endless little ones. Ignorance, complacency, selfishness alone can bring apocalypse.” – Andrea Ferro

“Live From The Apocalypse” is the fruit of an unprecedented time. Unlike previous live efforts the Italians, under the yoke of the pandemic, cleverly devised a way for their devoted fan base to hear and see them on stage by organizing a special live stream event performing their latest album, “Black Anima” in its entirety, in September 2020. This very special show will now be released on vinyl and CD as well as a digital album. The physical album formats come with a bonus DVD featuring the footage of the original live stream.

“Live From The Apocalypse” will be available in various formats and can be pre – ordered HERE!

Track-list “Live From The Apocalypse”

  1. Anima Nera
  2. Sword Of Anger
  3. Save Me
  4. Now Or Never
  5. Reckless
  6. Through The Flames
  7. Apocalypse
  8. Black Feathers
  9. Under The Surface
  10. The End Is All I Can See
  11. Veneficium
  12. Black Dried Up Heart
  13. Bad Things
  14. Layers Of Time
  15. Black Anima
  16. Save Me (Apocalypse Version)

By all accounts, this was no ordinary gig. Even though LACUNA COIL were in their hometown of Milan—at the famed Alcatraz Club—there were no fans to greet them. No roar of anticipation; No claps of adulation; No interaction with the people who had become deeply involved in and had a profound love for LACUNA COIL’s music and live shows over two-plus decades. The live stream energy was different. It had to be. With hearts on their sleeves, cameras rolling, and the world tuning in online, LACUNA COIL brought “Black Anima: Live from the Apocalypse” to life.

“On one hand, it felt awkward to play for a huge empty room,” tells vocalist Andrea Ferro. “ But, on the other hand, it felt great to finally reconnect with our fans at home and with the people working behind the scenes. A lot of people enjoyed the show—it was definitely a one-off event loaded with a lot of emotions and feelings. Live from the Apocalypse is an opportunity to offer a new release to our fans while the COVID-19 crisis is still a real thing, affecting them and us. The live album represents a unique moment in our career (and life) that will be forever remembered as that one time when we literally ‘rose from the Apocalypse.’”

Also don’t miss to pre-order “HORNS UP!”, LACUNA COIL’s very own tabletop (or better yet, concert floor!) party game in pure rock style. The game itself takes place at a LACUNA COIL show, where each player must fight his or her way to be the first to reach the stage. There will obviously be many “friendship-threatening” actions challenging the opponents. LACUNA COIL band members will be an active presence in the game: they are depicted on the Stage Cards, and each of these will have consequences on the whole audience! You can pre-order your copy HERE.

The pre-order campaign is live worldwide and as the number of requested copies rises, the project will become more developed, with new events and new expansions. Shipping Worldwide from November 2021.

More info on The Rasmus:
The Rasmus were formed in 1995 while the members were still in high school. Their debut, Peep, rapidly went gold in their homeland Finland, making the members rock stars at the age of 16. The follow-up, Playboys, also went gold and earned the group an Emma, Finland’s version of a Grammy. Their third album, Hell of a Tester, included “Liquid,” a track that was voted Best Single of the Year by Finland’s music critics. 2001’s Into album went double platinum in their native country, with its debut single, “F-F-F-Falling,” hitting the top of the charts. An international audience started to build, and the band toured throughout Europe. Their fifth album Dead Letters, released in 2003, became the band’s biggest breakthrough yet, due in large part to the success of the single “In the Shadows”. 2005’s Hide from the Sun went platinum in Finland. Their fourth Finnish chart-topper, Black Roses, was released in 2008, produced by Desmond Child. After the release of compilation Best of The Rasmus: 2001-2009 and a 2011 solo LP from Lauri Ylönen titled New World, The Rasmus released their self-titled eighth album, The Rasmus in 2012. The band returned in 2017 with the album Dark Matters. The Rasmus are still one Europe’s most in demand rock acts. They have toured Scandinavia many times as well as Central Europe, Asia, Japan, Canada, USA and South America. The Rasmus are vocalist Lauri Ylönen, bassist Eero Heinonen, guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi, and drummer Aki Hakala.

Get the song here: https://bfan.link/ray-of-light

“”Ray Of Light” was one of the first songs that I wrote for the album. The only vocalist I imagined to sing this song was Einar Solberg. We have toured together in the past and beside he is a true gentleman he is absolutely one of the most unique singers that I know. I hope you all enjoy this song and the music video as much as I do”, says Esa Holopainen.

The self-titled album is available as a CD digipak, in various coloured vinyl editions, a limited CD boxset (incl. the digipak, signed card, guitar pick and flag) as well as digital.

THE PICTUREBOOKS Release “Rebel” Feat. LZZY HALE, Announce New Album “The Major Minor Collective”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on May 14, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: Lzzy Hale, THE PICTUREBOOKS. Leave a comment

Due to their recently released collaborations with DENNIS LYXZÉN (REFUSED), NEIL FALLON (CLUTCH) and additional musical appearances by Ryan Sinn (The Distillers) and Dave Dinsmore (Brant Bjork), THE PICTUREBOOKS created some wild rumors within the last weeks with their unstoppable activities and tirelessness.

As announced last week, the gritty blues-rock-duo release the rock single of the year today, entitled “Rebel” featuring the outstanding Grammy winning vocalist LZZY HALE of HALESTORM!

The video for this track was filmed in Nashville and Berlin (Sony ‘Circle’ Studios) by LZZY HALE and THE PICTUREBOOKS and is set for a premiere today at 5pm CET which can be seen HERE!

Just before the video premiere is taking place, THE PICTUREBOOKS and LZZY HALE will be live on Instagram to give you insights about the song creation and further hints. Check out their live chat HERE at 4.45pm CET.

As of today, the single is available on your favorite streaming platforms and can be streamed HERE!

With an intangible honesty and emotionality, LZZY HALE finds the following words:

“This project came into my life at a time when I really needed it. The Pandemic stole a huge part of my life, and my identity. I was forced to look myself in the mirror and figure out who I am without that missing piece. I had to remind myself that no matter what is happening outside…the flame that burns inside of me is still alive. Writing these lyrics was like drawing a road map to guide myself back to who I am. No one can do it for me, no one can save me but myself. In order to do that, I have to start a revolution inside my soul, and be a rebel from the inside out. This song is my war cry.

The instrumental music was so inspiring that by the third listen the melody naturally spilled out like some alien hybrid of all my influences.

I am so grateful to The Picturebooks for bringing me into their world and giving me the freedom to express my personal journey of rediscovering myself. And I know that, in times like these, this song will bring the listener hope for the future and the confidence to survive whatever that future becomes.” – Lzzy Hale, Halestorm

THE PICTUREBOOKS further continue:

“It’s hard to put in words how excited we are about this collab. Lzzy has been the number one artist we wanted to work with when we started this project and bottles were poppin’ when she gave us the go to be a part of it.

Honestly, the stuff she came up with for this song was beyond our expectations. When we wrote the song we knew that if we send this to anyone, it’s gotta be Lzzy.

We knew about the potential of the song, but we didn’t know it could be this good. How in the world did she pull this off?

Beyond excited, Beyond happy. Mission accomplished.”

This said, it is also time to put an end to the secrecy and herewith officially announce “The Major Minor Collective”, the new album by THE PICTUREBOOKS which will be released 3rd of September, 2021!

„The Picturebooks & The Major Minor Collective“ was born out of the insane idea of bringing together various artists who have either inspired the two or who they are just friends with. The idea was to have some kind of creative exchange in these crazy times, a bridge to fellow artists if you like.

It also opened the musical range of the band in many ways and leads to the most varied musical work THE PICTUREBOOKS have ever done in their career.

Stay tuned, more details on this will be revealed very soon! For now, have fun listening to “Rebel” and repeat until death!
