Hungarian Tribal Metallers AVAR Unleash Spectacular Video In Turkish ‘Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım’

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: AVAR. Leave a comment

AVAR release their new single and music video Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım on all digital platforms. This is a cover song and was originally written by Âşık Veysel, a highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature, who was blind in most of his life. Hungarian folk music often contains Eastern melodies and since the band liked the original song very much, they decided to make a cover out of it. It’s about your own life, your way, your destiny from the beginning till the end with all uncertainties and difficulties.

Avar also recorded an English version of the song, which will be released in a few weeks.

“The video was shot in Opusztaszer National Heritage Park, which is an open air museum of the Hungarian history, therefore it has countless mesmerizing features that we thought would fit perfectly with the video. And sure enough it did. The video was shot by our good friends Mihaszna film who are well-known in the industry for making amazing videos. Actually, our bassist is one of the members of the Mihaszna team so it was an easy choice to work with them, just like we have done with all our videos so far.”

The band was founded by Andras Fábri and his brother Bence Fábri in 2019, with the goal to make a band that joins musical elements of the East with current Western influence in the metal environment. Eventually, the perfect band members joined the team and Avar awakened. 2019 was also the year when they started working on the first songs and finally recorded their first EP.

“It is important to us to be able to create something lasting, to encourage all listeners to act, commit, believe and overcome difficulties during hard times. Since Hungary is a nation in Europe, but also has its roots in Asia, our mission is that the East and West meet and experience each other through our music and discover each other’s hidden secrets, treasures and endless opportunities. We go beyond categorizing ourselves in a specific genre, since our music covers a whole wide spectrum. As you can hear, not only hard guitar riffs or screams, but also various types of instruments (mostly East European and Asian) take part in our music. We feel that these ancient tones, melodies and beats are embedded in all of our genes and our aim is to release the genie from the bottle to make our everyday life more tolerable or eventually change it to a festive day.

Our motto sums it up well:
We are the sound of the West and the melody of the East. The beat of the past and the tone of the present to give us guidance for the future”

AVAR are:
András Fábri (Jingis) – guitars
Bence Fábri – tapan
Gergő Lele – lead vocals
Julián Gordán – guitars, vocals
László Péntek – drums
Péter Lerch – bass

Canadian THE MIGHTY ONE Release The ‘Torch Of Rock And Roll’ Album

The Mighty One, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Canadian hard rock force THE MIGHTY ONE have just released their brand new record The Torch Of Rock And Roll, an unparalleled, uncompromisingly heavy rock album about the victories and defeats, the gains and losses, the ups and downs in the life of a true rock’n’roller. Two prior albums have pathed the way for a result, which – while being a brutally straight and honest album – is The Mighty One’s most complex and refined output so far. Reflecting upon a life dedicated to heavy music, filled with awe-inspiring moments, with power trips and the heartfelt losses that such a commitment brings, it already hauls the load for a dramatic rock and metal opera. And since we all know that no such piece would get away without a relatable protagonist, Tim Steinruck reached out into his own past in order to put a youngster and his coming of age journey right where the protagonist of the album’s title track belongs: front and center. The fan and dreamer that built upon his dreams – and boy do dreams burn!

The title track of The Torch Of Rock And Roll tells the real life story of said boy who happened to fall in love with KISS, the dreams he had and the will to make them come true to a point of eventually signing a management/record deal with his idol Paul Stanley. It’s also a story about the moment when a fiery heart realizes that all the ill-fated things its owner has gone through have just been a matter of synchronicity rather than fate. A truly recognitial moment and the spark that lit his lifelong fire of purpose. Here are the lyrics to accompany the brand new single and teaser for the music video:

THE TORCH OF ROCK AND ROLL
When I was just 13
When rock and roll was king
That’s when I joined
The Kiss Army
Destroyer in my hand
The cover dark and glam
It a lit a flame inside of me
I wanna feel the lights
I wanna feel the flames
Oh yeah, burning burning oh
The Torch of Rock and Roll
Hold it high, heal your soul
I turned 24
Paul Stanley at my door
Record deal and dreams come true
But then the end did come
And Grunge was number one

The flame went dim
But stayed alive
And now I see the light
And now I feel the flames
Oh yeah, burning burning oh

CHORUS:
The Torch Of Rock And Roll
Hold it high, hear your soul
Let the fire take control
The Torch Of Rock And Roll
I’ll never stop until I die
(Keep it burning)
Don’t even ask the reasons why
(Keep it burning)
This fire deep inside
It’s what keeps me alive
I raise my torch up to the sky

It has been a continuously thrilling ride. First, gasoline was poured all over the dusty ground of hard rock’s legacy. Then a spark hit the explosive ground and created a sea of fire for you to dip in the almighty flambeau you’ve been handed: THE TORCH OF ROCK AND ROLL has once again been lit. Now go and enjoy the video and album!

The Torch Of Rock And Roll is now available here: https://orcd.co/torch

Tracklist:

1. Coming On
2. Torch Of Rock And Roll
3. So High
4. Disruptor
5. Burden
6. Master Of Reality
7. Darker Side Of Me
8. My Garden
9. Kickin’ Stones
10. When This Is Over

Swedish MANIMAL Announce New Album For 2021 And Share Epic First Single ‘Forged In Metal’

Three years since their latest and highly acclaimed album, Purgatorio, Gothenburg heavy power metal overlords MANIMAL have announced a brand new studio record for the Fall of 2021 through AFM Records.

Despite the band‘s loyalty to traditional heavy metal influences, Purgatorio was a prime example of modern and trend-setting power metal characterised by musical enthusiasm, exceptional talent and new ideas. Following their latest magnum opus, 2021 will see the Swedish four-piece take their outstanding qualities to the brink of perfection: MANIMAL’s fourth album, with a yet unknown title, will showcase their wide range of a heavy as hell sound, and one that will most likely win over the true hearts of both the oldschool and modern metal fan!

To shorten your wait for the album release later this year, MANIMAL have just unleashed a first sneak peak with the blistering single “Forged In Metal“! While the track won’t stray away from the band’s heavy metal roots, it packs the extra punch and comes as a fresh adrenalin infusion. Stream the song on your favorite digital platform right HERE!

“The whole idea was to write a straightforward metal hymn with an irresistible “fist in the air” chorus”, says songwriter and guitarist Henrik Stenroos. Vocalist Samuel Nyman adds:
“We wanted to create a video with an orgy in metal clichés since the song is a pure celebration to the genre. Fire, skulls and chains. That’s what it all boils down to.”

With this first album appetizer, MANIMAL indeed succeeds to celebrate heavy metal all along the line. Enjoy their brand new video clip for “Forged In Metal“ here:

It seems MANIMALS’s goals have always been to write songs that they love and believe in. “The challenge is to make a song with strong hooks without being too predictable. It`s just a bonus when we realize that people around the world seem to have the same good taste in music that we have,” frontman Samuel Nyman once said.

Inspired by Rob Halford, Geoff Tate or Michael Kiske among others, Nyman‘s voice oozes aplomb and pure passion, blending perfectly with the intelligent songwriting, courtesy of guitarist Henrik Stenroos, a true riff icon whose hooks and licks provide the foundation for MANIMAL’s songs. Equally important for the group’s typical flair are drummer André Holmqvist and bassist Kenny Boufadene. Holmqvist has a tight, powerful drum style that comes surprisingly close to paragons such as Tommy Lee and Mike Portnoy while Boufadene is also in charge of mixing MANIMAL’s new album and produces his band’s videos at his Studio Meltdown in Sweden.

Blessed with such diverse talents and like all of their previous albums, MANIMAL once again produced the upcoming record themselves. “Mainly because we like to have full control of the production. We’re control freaks to the bone and the thought of putting our creations into the hands of an external producer simply scares us,” Nyman confessed earlier.

”I’m really proud we’ve manage to create yet another great album together.” Henrik Stenroos continues. “And it’s been a team effort indeed. All four of us has put so much soul and effort into everything from song writing to recording, with the result of a really heavy and all through awesome sounding album without any fillers what so ever. The fans of our previous works will not be disappointed.”

One can be sure, with this just released first album single, MANIMAL manages to leave us with a hunger for more. And with many more album details, news and album singles to follow in the months ahead, Autumn 2021 couldn’t be here soon enough!

COUSIN BETTY Release Video for ‘AWOL’, New EP ‘Left’ Out Now

After releasing 2 highly regarded singles ‘Drone’ and ‘Tape Hiss’, COUSIN BETTY have released their debut EP LEFT via Golden Robot Records, it is now available on all digital platforms. COUSIN BETTY’s sound is a mesh of distorted and psychedelic influenced indie desert rock with some grungy garage infused overtones.

To celebrate the release of LEFT, Cousin Betty have today released a video for the track ‘AWOL’.

Stream/Buy Left HERE

ABOUT ‘AWOL’ – ‘’Damien had recorded this one and ‘Loan Sharks of Love’ in their entirety before I heard them, at the time we’d been toying with the notion of compiling songs themed around war and battles. It prompted me to write about my Grandfather, a great man and a WW2 vet. Young tough and full of misplaced patriotic verve – like most of the boys his age, he left to fight whichever enemy Churchill deemed worthy of throwing troops at. In addition to being brave, he was also a bit of a renegade and spent quite a bit of time in various prison cells; some of which he’d been forced to build himself. A side of my Grandfather few new, was his profound romantic streak; a characteristic perfectly demonstrated by going AWOL before deployment just so he could marry his sweetheart. They married, he returned for court martial, served a brief sentence for going AWOL and then deployed to the sands of Egypt to shoot at bad guys. The tragedy of this romantic gesture, is that my Grandma once told me that the man who came home to her, wasn’t the same man she married. The horrors of the all he’d seen and lost had left substantial scars. Still, beyond his occasional irritability and, rarer still, displays of rage, the spontaneity of his wedding and heroism of knowing how much trouble he’d be in, is the story that best serves my memory of him’’ – Matt

Cousin Betty is the brainchild of Australia’s Damien Stofka a guitarist/songwriter, who has created riffs and written songs for Molten Universe, Death Mattel, LITTER and various other projects for the last 15 years.

Mayan JET JAGUAR Stream New Video “No Surrender”

After much success from their highly anticipated debut album “Endless Nights”, Mayan power metal powerhouse JET JAGUAR planned to release a video for their larger than life track – “No Surrender“, but like everything else in this world, things became complicated due to Covid–19. Filming became impossible and production came to a hault. After some time, opportunity presented itself again and Jet Jaguar pounced.

“No Surrender” by Jet Jaguar is now streaming in multiple languages and can be viewed at these locations:

Metal Injection – North America – Metal.de – Germany – Kronos Mortus – Hungary

JET JAGUAR was formed in 2014 and hails from Cancún, a city located in the Mayan region of Mexico. The band’s name was partially inspired by the jaguar, a sacred animal for the mayan civilization and for the areas where the mayans used to inhabit.

Also in 2014, the band released their first demo “Call of the Fight”, which gave them the opportunity to open for canadian bands Skull Fist and Striker.

In early 2016, their “Zero Hour” EP was released. The  title track and their first spanish song “Rompiendo el Acero” became fan favorites.

2017 was a busy year for JET JAGUAR. That year saw them tour Mexico twice (for a total of 35 dates). The band also embarked on their first European Tour (across Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Hungary and Romania).

In August 2017, JET JAGUAR received worldwide recognition by being the first Hispanic-American band to ever win the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle in Germany.

In 2018, JET JAGUAR performed in Mexico City at the biggest metal festival in Latin America: “Corona Hell & Heaven” (acts such as Ozzy Osbourne, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Megadeth and Gojira also performed). This was followed by their first gig at the Lunario del Auditorio Nacional, which is one of the most important venues for emerging artists in Mexico.

JET JAGUAR kicked off 2019 by performing at the biggest festival in Costa Rica: “Grito Latino”. The band dedicated the rest of the year to the production of their debut album “Endless Nights. The album was mixed and mastered by swedish producer Henrikk Udd, who has also worked with bands like Powerwolf, At The Gates, Hammerfall and Bring Me The Horizon.

In late 2020, the band signed with European booking agency Nick Grima MGT. Future plans for JET JAGUAR include touring throughout Europe and Mexico in support of “Endless Nights”.
