SUPERLYNX Release New Single And Video ‘Apocalypse’ From Upcoming Album

Norway’s SUPERLYNX are very clear about what music means to them when they quote Jimi Hendrix who described his own music thus: “We call our music ‘electric church music’. Because it’s like a religion to us.”  And that, according to the band,  is much like how they feel about theirs:

In music we find so much of what people seek in temples, religions or other spiritual forms – strength to endure trials, peace of mind, ecstasy, safety, hope, community, joy, transcendence etc. In the process of writing our third album this truth only became clearer to us. Music is our temple.

Now, with their third full-length album, “Electric Temple”,  due out on Dark Essence Records on the 16th April, the band have today released a second track from the album.  Titled “Apocalypse, and with artwork for the single by Pia Isaksen, the track can be downloaded or streamed from a variety of services at https://darkessencerecords.fanlink.to/Superlynx_Apocalypse

Accompanying the release of the “Apocalypse” single, SUPERLYNX have also made available a new lyric video which can be seen below.

Providing fans with an insight into the thoughts that went into “Apocalypse” the band explained:

It is no secret that we feel nature deeply. Apocalypse captures a panic-like state of mind – internally but also of nature and all creatures affected by the fact that the planet is burning. A lasting but culminating panic raised by the enormous and increasingly devastating fires that have been going on especially over the last years, in the Amazon Forest, in California and Australia. So much wildlife and so many species lost make a very apocalyptic image. We are really affected by it, and one sleepless night of not being able to stop thinking about each individual creature´s fear in the (then) ongoing Australian bush fires the lyrics were written.

There is both a sadness and a stressed feeling to the song. We always try to stay positive and focus on hope and light, but it was hard with this one. With that being said, there are forces working to turn this devastating development around, and we just have to wish that we can.

For SUPERLYNX’s lineup of Pia Isaksen on  Bass and Vocals,  Daniel Bakken on  Guitars and Ole Teigen on Drums, piano, keys and vocals, “Electric Temple” is both a continuation on from  their previous album “New Moon” and a further development of moods that the band has not previously explored Poignantly, “Electric Temple” also bears a deeply felt  mark left by the tragic death of a close family member.

Recorded and produced by Ole Teigen in his studio Crowtown Recordings, and with album artwork by Pia Isaksen and band photo by Carl Eek, “Electric Temple” will be available in CD,  Digital and Vinyl formats, and can be pre-ordered from the following:

JULIA AND THE ROOFERS – Feat. Necrodeath’s Drummer Peso – Debut Album ‘The Will Of Evil’ Released

Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: JULIA AND THE ROOFERS. Leave a comment

Just recently, Italian Rock Grunge Project JULIA AND THE ROOFERS released their debut album ‘The Will Of Evil’, strongly influenced by the sound of the Seattle bands of the 90s as well as by the angry approach typical of the riot girl groups (Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Hole, Babes in Toyland). The album is now available digitally on the main digital platforms, and physically on Amazon, eBay, Spotify + on the band’s Bandcamp page.

Julia (Moladori Giulia) enters the musical world in 2010 by playing in various rock bands of the eastern Liguria as a singer and second guitar. After a long period of experimentation and study, she enters as the main voice in the “Hermits” tribute to Led Zeppelin, an experience that will keep her busy for a long time. After the end of the project and eager to broaden her perspectives, she meets Peso (Marco Pesenti) and Ranza (Emilio Ranzoni) who propose to form an acoustic trio cover. This is how Julia and The Roofers were born in 2018, a group born with the aim of rearranging symbolic songs of rock history with the aid of special instruments such as the use of percussion and sitar. After a year spent around playing, thanks to the forced lockdown period, the group decides to devote themselves to the drafting of their first unpublished work. Thus was born “The will of Evil” project strongly influenced by the sound of the Seattle bands of the 90s as well as by the angry approach typical of the riot girrrl groups (Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Hole, Babes in Toyland). “The Will Of Evil” was recorded and mastered by Pier Gonella at MusicArt Studio.

Current line-up includes JULIA – voice and bass; RANZA- guitar, sitar and keyboards; PESO drums. Promotion by Diamonds Prod and Nadir Promotion.

After receiving international high praises for their first single “Agitar”, BALA proofs with their new track and video that they are not just another usual rock-outfit.

These two Spanish women provide you with a great presence and an on-point songwriting, which carry’s perfectly the authenticity that is so important for a stripped down and pure setup like you will find in BALA.

The bands comment on their new single:

“Our second single brings a feeling of freshness and good vibes, with sharp guitar and some good ol’ scream that sums up the feeling of relax and ENJOY. A short and brief travel to the past in the form of a short road movie where we count again with the strength of Bonnie Buitrago’s bass and vocals.”

KING BUFFALO To Release Three New Records In 2021

Posted by tarjavirmakari on March 5, 2021
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: KING BUFFALO. Leave a comment

While some bands may need years for a new album, heavy psych rockers KING BUFFALO used the past dark year of Covid creatively wise, and just announced the release of three new records in 2021! Yep, you’ve heard right. Three.

KING BUFFALO is the trio of vocalist/guitarist Sean McVay, bassist Dan Reynolds, and drummer Scott Donaldson. Since forming in 2013, the self-proclaimed “heavy psych” band has made its name via 4 EPs, 2 Full-lengths, and tours with the likes of The Sword, All Them Witches, and Elder.

Their upcoming, three new albums will be released during 2021, via self-release throughout North America and in Europe through Stickman Records.

The band recently oversaw the release of Live at Freak Valley as a follow-up to their early-2020 EP, Dead Star. By now the narrative of group-who-should’ve-spent-all-of-2020-touring-but-didn’t should be well familiar, but KING BUFFALO made exceptional use of the time. As Donaldson explained in a recent interview with The Obelisk, they actually had enough to use for four albums and decided to whittle it down to three.

This does nothing less than set KING BUFFALO up to potentially own the year, especially with the way they’re going about it. Each of the three albums will be recorded in a different manner and setting, so that while they’re using songs written during the same span of lockdown months, the presentation of each LP will inherently be different because the experience behind it will be different.

Says the band:
“That’s not a typo, and we know it sounds crazy, but yes, we will be releasing THREE FULL-LENGTH RECORDS in 2021!

It’s all new material and we’re really excited to finally be able to tell you. Since Covid stopped all touring, we’ve been hard at work and made the commitment to not waste this time.
We can’t give you all the details, but each record will be distinct. We’ve chosen different methods to record and produce each one, and we will share that info with you in the coming months.
The artwork and single from the first record will be announced in a few weeks. So sit tight. There’s going to be a lot of new tunes coming and we can’t wait for you to hear them!
For a deeper dive, check out Scott’s interview over at https://theobelisk.net/ .“

Stay tuned for many more album details and news to be revealed in the months ahead, as one can be sure, 2021 will be definitely owned by KING BUFFALO!

WITHERFALL Release Video Clip For “… And They All Blew Away”

L.A.’s WITHERFALL are celebrating the release of their new album, “Curse Of Autumn”, with the launch of another cinematic video for an edit of the epic “… And They All Blew Away”. The video was directed by Brendan McGowan and produced by Zev Deans:

The band about the song and video: “So this is a total edit of this song… for those who dare there is a 15+ minute version on the record that is by far the most progressive thing Witherfall has ever written and features an incredible drum performance by the legendary Marco Minnemann as well as an amazing display of eclectic bass techniques by Anthony Crawford … Going into the songwriting of ‘Curse of Autumn’ we always want to try and outdo ourselves with certain tracks and this goal was to write a song that took the listener on an unparalleled musical journey. This abridged version is set to cinema by UnholyRoman and is shrouded in mystery much like the meaning of the song… For those that dare the full version can be found via the link in the description.”

While the full version is part of the album you can secure the edit via the Digital Album.
