GENTLE SAVAGE Forced To Postpone Debut Album ‘Midnight Waylay’ Release Date

GENTLE SAVAGE, due to the current Covid pandemic are forced to postpone their debut album ‘Midnight Waylay‘ release to later this Spring. The album was scheduled to come out at the end of February.

Lead vocalist Tornado stated:
“Due to this current COVID pandemic we are forced to postpone our album release. This decision is based on various effects that the COVID pandemic has brought to us.

There’s also been some health issues in our production crew, so we haven’t been able to keep up with the deadlines and the quality work we are used to.

However, the intriguing cover art is ready and we believe the songs and the stories represent beautifully the album name ‘Midnight Waylay’. The album contains nine songs with five previously unreleased songs.
We are excited to get this ‘baby’ out later this spring and we are thankful for your patience and understanding in this situation.
The new album release date will be revealed soon.”

Earlier Tornado revealed, that “Midnight Waylay depicts a ‘taking it easy in the daytime, turning into a beast at night’ kind of lifestyle. Just like a hunter strikes from the shadows, ruthless and silent, these songs can without warning rock your world. As a concept the album Midnight Waylay is best appreciated when served whole, but each song has its own character and works well independently. Find your own adventure, let yourself loose!”

Just recently, GENTLE SAVAGE released a lyric video for their latest single ‘YNAMW (You Never Ask Me Why)’, taken from the band’s upcoming debut album ‘Midnight Waylay’. Watch the video here:

“YNAMW ( You Never ask Me Why) lyric video was designed to boost the story without stealing any attention from the music. It continues the comic book theme Gentle Savage started with the Honey Bunny animation video. The making of the graphic world of YNAMW was inspired by guns, vampires and cowboys and the video builds up mostly on the lyrics. Sometimes simplicity is all that is needed.

SUPERLYNX Reveal Details, Video And New Single From Upcoming Album

Dark Essence Records have announced that the 16th April has been set for the release of “Electric Temple”, the third full-length album from SUPERLYNX, the Norwegian trio known for its distinctive, genre-defying sound that combines  doom, psychedelic and meditative atmospheres with heaviness and droning rock.

As a taste of things to come, the label has today released both a single, and a video, of the title track. The single is available to download or stream on a number of services at this location.

For SUPERLYNX’s lineup of Pia Isaksen on  Bass and Vocals,  Daniel Bakken on  Guitars and Ole Teigen on Drums, piano, keys and vocals, “Electric Temple” is both a continuation on from  their previous album “New Moon” and a further development of moods not previously explored by the band.  Poignantly, “Electric Temple” also bears a deeply felt  mark left by the tragic death of a close family member. 

According to the band, the title of the album is a reference to Jimi Hendrix´ way of looking at music. As they explain:

Our music and lyrics are as always very personal to us and refer to what we go through.  Life, music, nature and inspiration is a general focus.  We always want to push ourselves and explore deeper, wider and further and we feel this album shows our effort in that respect.

As Hendrix said “We call our music ‘electric church music”. Because it’s like a religion to us.” And that is much like how we feel about ours. In music we find so much of what people seek in temples, religions or other spiritual forms – strength to endure trials, peace of mind, ecstasy, safety, hope, community, joy, transcendence etc. In the process of writing our third album this truth only become clearer to us. Music is our temple.

As to the actual technical aspects of the album SUPERLYNX  went to describe how fortunate they were that producer Marc Urselli got in touch with the band wanting to work on the album with them:

He happens to be a multiple Grammy Award win­ning producer who has done sound for Nick Cave, Mike Patton, Lou Reed, Keith Rich­ards, The Black Crowes and countless more.  He also has a project with Lee Ranaldo & Jim Jarmusch, has played in a trio with Stephen O´Malley and has a project with people like Steve von Till, Matt Pike, Lori S, Dave Chandler and more.

But these credits were not what was important to us though.  It was rather the fact that his sound was so in line with what we ourselves hoped to get out of this. Marc ended up mixing the album and we are really happy about how he has enhanced our sound.

The same goes for Fridtjof Lindeman of Strype Audio, who mastered “Electric Temple” as he did for our previous two albums.  He is always a pleasure to work with and does excellent work every time.

NORSEMAN Release New Single And Video ‘Horizon’

NORSEMAN play colorful heavy metal inspired by the Nordic mysticism and they are preparing to release their long awaited second album later this year!

Norseman was founded in 1994 by Esa Eerola and it has operated with the same line-up ever since. Their debut album was released in 2007 and it was recorded between 1997-1999. In 2005 they started to record their second album but the recordings faded for more than a decade after their record label went down and the band members also moved all over the country. Recordings were re-launched in 2020 and finally the album “Immortal Superminor” will see it’s daylight in 2021. It’s an album built on big stories and minor keyed melodies. Album is produced by Hannu Leiden and engineered by Eero Kaukomies.

NIGHTWISH: ”An Evening with Nightwish In a Virtual World” Rescheduled For May

The interactive ”An Evening with Nightwish In a Virtual World” concert experiences that will kick off the ”Human. :II: Nature.” World Tour have been rescheduled from March to May due to changes in the band’s touring schedule. The new dates are Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29, 2021.

Tickets purchased for the original dates are automatically valid for the new dates, or can be returned by March 12, 2021. More details further below.

2 day tickets will be on sale for the current price until February 14, 2021, 22:59 CET. After this the price will go up.

VIP packages will go on sale at the same time. The VIP package includes a virtual session with the yet unrevealed bass player of Nightwish’s ”Human. :II: Nature.” tour, among other perks. The identity of the bass player will be revealed on the live virtual session included in the VIP package on Friday, May 28, 2021.

EVENT INFO:
Nightwish will perform in a tavern called ”The Islanders Arms” built in a virtual world for two nights in May. On both nights, the fans will experience an unforgettable 1.5-hour performance, hearing songs live off the latest album, ”Human. :II: Nature.” for the first time ever. These two nights will have their own, slightly different setlists.

– Fri, May 28, 2021, Europe: 8pm CET / 7pm GMT, duration approx. 90min

THE MEANING OF TUULETON (“THE WINDLESS”):
“A bird-themed story where Windless is an almost flightless bird. He groans when he flies, but it’s not good to be on the ground either. He mourns his inability to fly like the others and is bitter because he is not accepted by the others just because he’s different. Winter is coming and when the nightly frosts arrive it becomes increasingly difficult to survive in the cold ground.”

DIRECTOR’S WORD:
“All of the music videos from the album “Jylhä” are made during the Covid-19 pandemic, and I wanted that to show somehow in this last story. Years have passed and the old man now lives in his hut with his grown-up daughter. Age starts to weigh, he feels feeble and dejected. On top of this he has caught some disease from one of his trips, and his time seems to be running out. The disease makes his mind wander, leading him to his deceased wife and her marshy grave, to landscapes already familiar from the “Leväluhta”-video. But will it be his time to go…?” (Markku Kirves)

FROM THE DEPTH To Release ‘Back To Life’ 10th Anniversary Edition

After the successful collaboration for the release of the sophomore album “Moments“, Italy’s power metallers FROM THE DEPTH and record label Rockshots Records join forces again to release the 10th Anniversary Edition of the band’s debut album “Back to Life“. 

The new edition of the record was totally re-mixed and re-mastered by Santo Clemenzi (bass player of the band) at Angle Room Studio, and includes two bonus tracks: the first one was re-recorded by the current line-up (incl. Davide Castro, former keyboard player and current studio arranger), the second one features Apollo Papathanasio duetting with Raffaele “Raffo” Albanese who re-recorded the whole song.

Singer and leader of the band Raffaele “Raffo” Albanese comments about the new release: “After ten years from the release and some years from the sold-out, we decided to release a new version of the album which allowed us to hit many – amazing – stages all around Europe. It would have been too much easy to re-record it, but I believe that each record has its own story, with strenghts and weaknesses, even for an emotional matter.
This is why we gave it to Santo Clemenzi who made a sound update thanks to a new mixing and a new mastering, without distorting the original performance of the debut.
We relied on Rockshots Records again, after the excellent experience we had on the release of “Moments”, as we are pretty sure they will give the proper value to this special edition.“
