CAMERA OBSCURA TWO Premiere “To Bleed To Feel Alive” Lyric Video

Next week, Selfmadegod Records will release D.Ö.D., the debut album from Polish/Italian grindcore/thrash/crossover faction CAMERA OBSCURA TWO, by current and former members of Schizo, Cripple Bastards, Hour Of Penance, Novembre, The Foreshadowing, Pestem, and more. Toilet Of Hell is currently hosting an exclusive stream of a new lyric video for the album’s “To Bleed To Feel Alive.”

CAMERA OBSCURA TWO (or CO2) is led by Alberto Penzin, formerly of Italian thrash legends Schizo, on four-string bass, joined by Giulio The Bastard (Cripple Bastards) on vocals, Andrea Ragusa (ex- Pestem, I Will Kill You) on five-string bass, Marco Mastrobuono (Hour Of Penance, Inno) on guitars, and Giuseppe Orlando (Novembre, Catacomb) on drums.

Following their 2019 split 7″ EP with Schizo, CO2‘s D.Ö.D. was tracked in Italy by Mastrobuono and Orlando at Kick Recording and Outer Sound Studios with additional tracking by Carlo Altobelli and Graziano Manuele at Toxic Basement Studios and Ueickap Studio, with additional guitar and bass tracked in Poland by Haldor Grunberg at MAQ Records and Satanic Audio, and additional drum pars recorded by Wilfred Ho in China. The record was mixed and mastered by Mastrobuono and Orlando at Kick Recording and completed with illustrations and cover design by Szymon Siech. Several of the tracks were originally written and performed by Schizo in the 1980s and 1990s, and the record features guest musicians Marco Montagna with additional lead guitars and vibrato bar and Steven Fischer with additional effects and underground cinematics.

Toilet Ov Hell writes with the “To Bleed To Feel Alive” lyric video, “What do you get when you mix members of Hour Of Penance, Cripple Bastards, Novembre, and Schizo? You get the skull-scraping, gut-grinding, double-bass blast known as CAMERA OBSCURA TWO. When I say ‘double-bass’ I don’t mean a double bass pedal. I mean they have two, count ’em, two bassists. That’s enough low-end to shake loose the fillings in your teeth. Don’t believe me? Well, we have a brand new lyric video from the band to prove you wrong.”

Fans of Discharge, Bulldozer, Nihilist, Hellhammer, Terrorizer, Repulsion, Killing Joke, and S.O.D. tune in.

Selfmadegod Records will release CO2’s D.Ö.D. on CD and all digital platforms next Friday, February 12th. Find the album at the Selfmadegod webshop HERE and Bandcamp HERE.

CAMERA OBSCURA TWO was conceived by Alberto Penzin (ex-Schizo) on 09/09/07 and ultimately brought to life on 10/10/10 with the grand arrival of Giulio The Bastard (Cripple Bastards) on vocal duties, followed by the pivotal recruiting of second bass player Andrea Ragusa on 11/11/11. After a few years in the basement intertwined with some sporadic live stints, several demo tracks and a couple dozen additional months on hiatus, the band is now ready for quite some turmoil following the addition to the ranks of guitar player deluxe Marco “Cinghio” Mastrobuono and drummer wiz Giuseppe “Peppe” Orlando.

The band’s first full-length release is an elegant recollection of all CO2 crucial tunes purposely re-recorded and put together for the eloquently titled D.Ö.D. album, a twenty-eight-minute lean, mean, and tight affair. The record also marks the unfortunate departure of lead vocalist Giulio The Bastard, as the CD cover sticker reads, “A mean compendium of songs arranged, rehearsed and experienced during the early days of the band. And a farewell mémoire to friend and vocalist Giulio The Bastard, no longer involved with CO2. All tracks freshly revamped and committed to tape with no holds barred, mostly fueled by a glorious array of HM-2/5150 set to explode.”

As luck would have it, a new vocalist has already been found and will be formally introduced prior the release of next album T.O.D., which has already been conceived and is planned for next year. To sum it all up in just a few bombastic words: CO2 is a one-way pathway to spiritual elevation filtered through a lifetime worth of obsession with metallic transgression. In other words, all the controlled violence and grinding riffage you could wish for.

Cleopatra Entertainment Acquires North American Rights To Horror-Thriller Film BAPHOMET Feat. Dani Filth

Cleopatra Entertainment has acquired North American rights to BAPHOMET, a Horror film from Writer-Director Matthan Harris.

BAPHOMET tells the tale of an American family (the Richardsons) celebrating their daughter’s pregnancy, but things begin to go awry when Satanic cult leader, Henrik Brandr unexpectedly visits their ranch. Henrik offers to pay the family a large sum for ownership of their land, claiming it is sacred to his congregation. Jacob Richardson, the father, rejects the offer due to the sentimental value of his ranch. Henrik, displeased, begins to put curses on the Richardsons, trying to force them off of their own land – even if it means murdering them. After suffering unexplainable tragedies created by the curses, the Richardsons seek help from Marybeth, a white witch high priestess. They soon discover a terrible secret about their house, revealing why their land is so sacred to the cult. They realize that they must protect their house from the cult at all costs, and a violent battle between good and evil ensues.

The film stars Colin Ward (MANK, CRIMINAL MINDS), Giovanni Lombardo Radice (THE OMEN, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD, CANNIBAL FEROX), Nick Principe (LAID TO REST, CHROMESKULL), Harris (GERMAN ANGST, FOR WE ARE MANY) and CRADLE OF FILTH frontman Dani Filth as Lon Carlson, an occultist and expert on witchcraft.

Says Harris: “BAPHOMET is a hellish rollercoaster of demonic and supernatural terror. I started pre-production for it back in 2013 and it has been my labor of undying love ever since. I’ve poured everything I could into this monster of a movie, and I’m so pleased that we can unleash this horrifying beast upon the world this year!”

Adds Filth: “I really liked the idea of it. The script was good. It seemed genuinely interesting, esoteric. The premise is great, and I quite liked the idea of the character I was playing… haggard and highly intelligent. It’s kind of apt, you know. I wouldn’t say it’s tongue-in-cheek, I wouldn’t even say it’s role reversal, but it’s similar in the way that Ozzy played a priest in Trick or Treat. It’s playing with the genre, mixing it up a little bit, and I think it’s cool, yeah. I think that I’m cut out for the role of an occult investigator, occult philosopher, etcetera. I could see myself actually doing that role in real life.”

See Exclusive interview with Dani Filth here: https://youtu.be/r7iOXyOzC6A

The rights deal was brokered by Cleopatra Founder and CEO Brian Perera, Tim Yasui VP/GM of Cleopatra Entertainment and by John Lepper from the Cyfuno Ventures Sales Agency on behalf of the filmmakers.

BAPHOMET will be released domestically this June 8th, 2021 on VOD Platforms and also as a Home Entertainment DVD and BLU RAY package.

JOHNNY O’NEIL Premiere Music Video For ‘Snake in the Grass’

JOHNNY O’NEIL released the first music video for the track Snake in the Grass taken from his debut solo album “Truth or Dare”.

“We had a blast shooting the video in a unique location – a venue in Wisconsin known as ‘The Wet BarN.’ It was a bit cold at first shooting in the winter, but after doing a few takes under the lights we warmed right up! The energy of the band you see in the video is also quite evident on the other tracks on the album. After only being released ten days ago, we have already received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans both old and new, as well as Internet stations from across the US, UK, Germany, and Spain!” – Johnny O’Neil

“Truth or Dare” is the blazing new solo debut from guitarist Johnny O’Neil, co-founder and mainstay of the Minnesota legendary hard rock band, Dare Force. It’s muscular, guitar-driven rock with a powerful foundation supplied by drummer Joachim Baecker, as well as a guest appearance by UFO’s original keyboardist, Danny Peyronel. Both O’Neil and Baecker are no strangers to the Midwest music scene, and have finally joined forces to lay down a new set of refreshing rock & roll. Engineer and co-producer Brian Bart (a Midwest legend in his own right, and co-founder of Dare Force along with O’Neil) has delivered a crisp, clean recording that fully captures O’Neil’s blistering guitar work. “Truth or Dare” features nine songs, including the first single from the album, “Snake in the Grass,” the symphonic rocker “Temple,” the driving instrumental “World Run Amuck,” and a rollicking remake of The Beatles’ classic, “Revolution.”

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Guitarist / Keyboardist Shares Epic Cover Video “Cliffs of Dover”

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian, well known on the YouTube universe for his incredible multi-instrumental cover videos, is sharing his latest rendition of Eric Johnson‘s Grammy Award winning single “Cliffs of Dover”, which can be viewed HERE.

Gabriel Guardian adds:

“I’ve always been absolutely fascinated by this song. It’s one of a kind in its composition, tone, phrasing, and all around badassery. Eric Johnson, you sir are a genius. Thank you for inspiring me as a young Texan guitarist. I covered this song in my 8th-grade talent show and from then to even now, it never got any easier, but my passion and feeling towards every note felt the same! I love how some songs with no lyrics can pull so much emotion and nostalgia outta me. Happy to have finally had the time and skill to do a proper video for this epic song.”

After winning over new audiences with their acclaimed 2018 debut full-length “Age of Revolution” and touring relentlessly alongside fellow shredders such as Marty Friedman, Powerglove, and Exmortus, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN gathered in Las Vegas last year to begin recording their second album. As the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic began to ensue, each member of the band retreated to their respective hometowns. With shutdowns around the world being enforced, the band completely scrapped the record that they had been working on and were heavily inspired to write and create a new thematic record about their emotions surrounding current events.

“Psychosomatic” is a product of the extraordinary events of 2020. The result is a truly multi-national record, with guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian remaining in Las Vegas, vocalist Carlos Zema recording his vocals from his home in Brazil, new drummer Justin Piedimonte joining the band from his hometown in Montreal, Canada, and new bassist Joshua Lopez remaining in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s native Texas.

The group, founded by Gabriel Guardian, whose uncanny ability to play guitar and keyboard simultaneously has been showcased on MTV’s “Amazingness” along with his unique dual-instrument covers of classics by the likes of Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Guns N’ Roses have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and have been built upon the band’s following through multiple self-released EPs before signing with M-Theory Audio for the 2018 release of their first full-length record, “Age of Revolution”. The band has also performed live alongside some of the biggest names in metal, including Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Kamelot, Symphony X, Sonata Arctica, Slayer, Metal Church, Soilwork and Steve Vai, and in countries such as Brazil and Russia, and during high-profile performances at ESPN’s X Games, South By Southwest and the Fun Fun Fun Fest.

“Psychosomatic” is the next step in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s evolution while still capturing the band’s exhilarating trademark melding of melodic power metal with progressive/shred tendencies.

Digital pre-save, CD and limited-edition purple vinyl pre-orders for “Psychosomatic”, which will be released by M-Theory Audio on February 12, 2021 are available now at http://smarturl.com/immortalguardian.

EYEHATEGOD Release New Single “Built Beneath The Lies”

EYEHATEGOD, whose eagerly-awaited new album, “A History of Nomadic Behavior”, arrives on March 12th, have shared a third song from the forthcoming album, releasing “Built Beneath the Lies” this morning. Click HERE to listen!

Eyehategod singer Mike IX Williams said of the track: “’Built Beneath the Lies’ is another acidic  Eyehategod  song playing in the background while the back alleys burn with nervous alcoholic tension and people all over cancel their summer plans to stare at the wall...”

“Built Beneath the Lies” is the third preview of the 12-song album, with the New Orleans-based band releasing both the “bulldozing” (Revolver) song “Fake What’s Yours” and the prescient “banger” (Stereogum) “High Risk Trigger ”. Early coverage of the album points to a worthy return for the storied sludge outfit, with The Pit saying A History of Nomadic Behavior “keeps up their incredible legacy” and Exclaim noting the release “offers all of the moody, distorted aggression that we’ve come to expect from the band.”

The album’s arrivalfollows a period that saw the New Orleans based band on the road for three years, preceded by Williams suffering liver failure and a transplant. “We toured our asses off for three years and that’s where A History of Nomadic Behavior basically comes from,” adds Williams before touching on his health challenge: “Death is a part of life, it’s a roll of the dice. Sometimes you take life as it comes, other times you fight to stay alive.” The album was produced by Eyehategod, Sanford Parker (Yob, Voivod) and James Whitten (Thou, High on Fire), with mixing by Whitten. The band recorded at HighTower Recording and Hypercube studios.

The album is available in various formats and can be pre – ordered HERE!

“A History of Nomadic Behavior”track list:

  1. Built Beneath the Lies
  2. The Outer Banks
  3. Fake What’s Yours
