Morten Veland (SIRENIA, MORTEMIA and founder of TRISTANIA) released the ninth Mortemia song from ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’ today. A collection of 12 cover songs featuring different guest singers for each song. This track is a cover version of ‘I put a Spell on You’ originally recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival, featuring Minniva on guest vocals. The song is available on all digital platforms as of yesterday, the 5th of June 2026.
“I’m proud and honoured to welcome my fellow Norwegian Minniva as my special guest for ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’. The song of choice this time is another timeless classic dating all the way back to 1968. ‘I put a Spell on You’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival. This is one of those classic hits from the past that has stayed with me since the first encounter, and I am super thrilled to have teamed up with Minniva for this one. I’ve had Minniva in mind for a possible collab for quite some time now, and I am very pleased that we could finally make it happen. Minniva did an amazing job with this song, adding her own personal touch to the song in an awesome way”.
Minniva:
“What a great experience working with you Mortemia! Professional and very productive. I hope we get to do this again very soon, or what do you guys think? Go and check out his other tracks/songs/albums”
After 11 years of silence Norwegian multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist Morten Veland activated his solo project Mortemia during the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic, this time with a brand new concept consisting of collaborations with multiple guest singers. ‘The Pandemic Pandemonium Sessions’ was a series of singles released on a monthly basis, each song featuring a well known and highly profiled guest singer from the metal scene. Following next was ‘The Covid Aftermath Sessions’, yet another album featuring 12 songs with 12 different guest singers. Now Mortemia is ready to endeavor on his third album in the collaboration format entitled ‘The Cover Collab Sessions’, once more the project will feature multiple amazing guest singers. This will be, as the title suggests, an album consisting of cover songs solely. All re-arranged and performed in Mortemia’s signature style.
So far the following singers has contributed for his collaborations:
Madeleine Liljestam (Eleine) Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion, Ayreon, MaYaN) Alessia Scolletti (Temperance, ERA) Liv Kristine (Liv Kristine, ex-Theatre of Tragedy, ex-Leaves Eyes) Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum, The Dark Side of the Moon) Brittney Slayes (Unleash the Archers) Maja Shining (Forever Still) Erica Ohlsson (Metalite) Heidi Parviainen (Dark Sarah, ex Amberian Dawn) Zora Cock (Blackbriar) Linda Toni Grahn (Anima Veil, ex Follow the Cipher) Caterina Nix (Chaos Magic) Federica Lanna (Volturian) Ulli Perhonen (ex-Snow White Blood) Ambre Vourvahis (Xandria) Fabienne Erni (Eluveitie, Illumishade) Lindy-Fay Hella (Wardruna) Margarita Monet (Edge of Paradise) Marina La Torraca (Battle Beast, Exit Eden, Phantom Elite) Nicoletta Rosellini (Alterium, Walk in Darkness) Maxi Nil (Jaded Star, ex Visions of Atlantis) Capri (Amberian Dawn) Emma Zoldan (Sirenia) Dianne van Giersbergen (DIANNE, Ex Libris) Chiara Tricarico (Moonlight Haze) Leah (Leah) Kristin Starkey (Temperance, Twilight Force) Kristyn Hope (Daedric) Diva Satanica (Bloodhunter) Grace Darkling (Nocturna) Rehn Stillnight (Nocturna) Jessica Thierjung (Lyriel) Minniva (Minniva)
Texas’ blazing death metal fivesome CREEPING DEATH are proud to announce they have officially signed to BLKIIBLK. On their signing to BLKIIBLK, vocalist Reese Alavi shares:
“We’re beyond stoked to join forces with BLKIIBLK. It took very little time to see how hard the label’s camp works for their artists & it couldn’t have come at a better time. We’ve been working hard on LP3 all year, and we can guarantee you – it’s the most CREEPING DEATH record to date. We can’t wait to see what the future holds being a part of the BLKIIBLK team.”
Mike Gitter, Global Head of A&R for Frontiers Label Group and BLKIIBLK Label Head, expresses:
“BLKIIBLK is proud to be working with the legends of Texan death metal, CREEPING DEATH. They were a band that signaled a shift in the metal landscape as they toured tirelessly alongside the likes of Power Trip, Carcass, and the list goes on. They’ve got the riffs, the heaviness, and a work ethic that’s second to none.”

CREEPING DEATH is the past, present, and ugly future of Texas Death Metal. The Lone Star State fivesome have built a legacy of brutality, gruesome riffage, and Southern grooves with an improbable cathartic glee. As Revolver Magazine observed, CREEPING DEATH “assemble hulking riffs, screaming guitar solos, and ghastly vocal lows, and play them with the urgent momentum of a sterling hardcore band.”
Bursting from an underground that not only has given the world metallic mainstays like Pantera, but also the likes of Power Trip, Iron Age, Devourment and modern-day metallurgists including Frozen Soul, CREEPING DEATH is the band that defines the sound and sweaty ethos of Texas Metal. For founding members, vocalist Reese Alavi and guitarists A.J. Ross III, and Trey Pemberton, the journey is still a scorched earth affair as they nestle into their new label home, BLKIIBLK.
Since the release of 2016’s ‘Sacrament of Death’ three-song demo, CREEPING DEATHhas been a force in its own right. By the time they unleashed 2019’s ‘Wretched Illusions’ album, CREEPING DEATH was touring exhaustively with the likes of High on Fire, Carcass, and Municipal Waste and traversing Europe with Goatwhore and Revocation. 2021’s ‘The Edge of Existence’ EP further strengthened CREEPING DEATH’s resolve, winning over crowds at festivals including Psycho Las Vegas and South by Southwestas well as the vaunted Sound and Fury and This Is Hardcore festivals.
With 2023’s ‘Boundless Domain’ album, which saw the band collaborate with Killswitch Engage guitarist and producer, Adam Dutkiewicz, CREEPING DEATH had truly arrived as a force both onstage and on record. “We’ve freely admitted that we are a selfish band, in so much as we really only wrote music for us,” explains Pemberton. “We make music that’s fun for us to play. The music that we want to hear. After all, we’re the ones who’re going to hear these songs the most, night after night.” ‘Boundless Domain’ saw them sharpening songwriting blades with songs like “Vitrified Earth” and the groove-laden “Intestinal Wrap,” which also featured the trademark roar of Cannibal Corpse vocalist, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher.
With their lineup rounded out by bassist Addrian Bijan Jafaritabar (of Texas grinders, Saintpeeler) and drummer Robert Dominguez, CREEPING DEATH looks toward a brutal horizon. “We’re digging into the writing for LP number three,” says Alavi. “It really is CREEPING DEATH at our most intense. We’ve had a couple of member changes and a label change, and it feels like that sense of chaos and the determination we’ve always had is not only coming out in the music but is redefining who and what CREEPING DEATH is.”

As the clock continues ticking down to the June 19 release of Ride The Rainbow – The Ultimate Tribute To Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, one of the most powerful – yet, at the same time, delicate – performances on the entire album spins off as Rainbow’s latest single.
Long time followers of Ritchie’s post-Rainbow Blackmore’s Night will already know that vocalist Candice Night is no stranger to the Rainbow catalog – “Man On The Silver Mountain, “ Difficult To Cure” and “Temple Of The King” have all found a place in Blackmore’s Night’s live show over the years. And no matter who voiced Rainbow’s original, still Night made the song her own.
She’s done it again on Ride The Rainbow. “I Surrender” was first heard on Difficult To Cure, Rainbow’s fifth album (from 1981) and their first to feature vocalist Joe Lynn Turner – who also appears on the tribute, alongside both his predecessor, Graham Bonnet and his successor, Doogie White.
Night and co-conspirator Marcus Nand, however, have a very different vision of Rainbow to those others, so much so that, alone among the 13 Rainbow classics selected for this tribute, “I Surrender” is the only song to be given two airings – the other, truly rocking storm, is voiced by Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest) and it’s be hard to imagine two greater extremes. Picking favorites, on the other hand, is a lot tricker.
Night’s vocals, as mystic and magnificent as they ever are with Blackmore’s Night, offer the song an entire new lease of life – even those among of us who can sing along with every Rainbow song have probably never truly acknowledged the depths of emotion and tenderness that hallmark “I Surrender,” but – seemingly effortlessly – Night and Nand bring them sparkling into full view. “I Surrender” (Acoustic Version) is, quote possibly, the most radical reimagining on the album… which, if you’ve listened to any of the past singles, is one helluva achievement.
Ride The Rainbow itself is an absolutely star-studded journey through the many faces of the Ritchie Blackmore-led legend, with stunning performances from no fewer than six Rainbow alumni – Romero is joined on the album by Bob Daisley, Graham Bonnet, Don Airey, Joe Lynn Turner and Doogie White! Plus Steve Morse (Blackmore’s successor in Deep Purple), and many more.
As the subtitle says, it truly is “The Ultimate Tribute To Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow.”

Season of Mist is pleased to announce the forthcoming reissue of four releases from the HULDER back catalogue: De Oproeping Van Middeleeuwse Duisternis (2019), Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry (2021), The Eternal Fanfare (2022), and Verses in Oath (2024). The four titles span the full arc of the project’s development, from its earliest tape recordings through to the most fully realized statement to date.
De Oproeping Van Middeleeuwse Duisternis brings together HULDER‘s first two tape releases: the Ascending the Raven Stone demo and the Rehearsal 8/13/18 session, onto a single compilation. Raw and deliberate, these eight tracks document the project’s origins in the icy traditional black metal of the nineties Scandinavian and French scenes, anchored by tremolo-picked riffs, a cover of Celtic Frost’s “Into the Crypts of Rays,” and a songwriting instinct that was already, at this earliest stage, pointed and purposeful.
Track list:
De Oproeping Van Middeleeuwse Duisternis (00:46)
Heksensabbat (Rehearsal) (02:36)
Bestial Form of Humanity (Rehearsal) (04:06)
Implements of Hell (Rehearsal) (05:36)
Into the Crypts of Rays (03:48)
Heksensabbat (05:27)
Bestial Form of Humanity (04:50)
Implements of Hell (07:45) Full runtime: 34:56
Godslastering: Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry, HULDER‘s debut full-length, was released in January 2021 via Iron Bonehead Productions. Across eight tracks and roughly forty minutes, the album expanded on the early tape material with greater structural ambition and textural range: blast-driven passages sitting alongside acoustic guitar, medieval keyboard, and unhurried melodic development. The Belgian geography of the project surfaces directly in “De Dijle,” named for the river running through Hulder’s native Mechelen, giving the lyrical content an anchor in specific landscape and folklore. Clean vocal passages, most notably on “A Forlorn Peasant’s Hymn,” showed a broader expressive range without altering the album’s essential character.
Track list:
Upon Frigid Winds (03:24)
Creature of Demonic Majesty (03:38)
Sown in Barren Soil (04:49)
De Dijle (06:37)
Purgations of Bodily Corruptions (04:23)
Lowland Famine (05:28)
A Forlorn Peasant’s Hymn (06:03)
From Whence an Ancient Evil Once Reigned (05:09) Total runtime: 39:41
The Eternal Fanfare, released in July 2022 via 20 Buck Spin as HULDER‘s first release for the label, is a five-track mini-album that refined and extended the debut’s approach. The production carries more low-end weight and definition; the songwriting is more varied in register, moving between the atmospheric patience of opener “Curse From Beyond,” the stormblast ferocity of the title track, and the mournful, synth-layered arc of closer “A Perilous Journey.” A guest guitar solo from Philippe Tougas appears on “Burden of Flesh and Bone,” one of several moments on the record where expanded instrumental scope serves the composition rather than decorating it.
Track list:
Curse From Beyond (02:54)
Burden of Flesh and Bone (05:27)
Sylvan Awakening (04:49)
The Eternal Fanfare (05:34)
A Perilous Journey (06:58) Total runtime: 25:54
Verses in Oath, the sophomore full-length released in February 2024 via 20 Buck Spin, is the most complete realisation of the project to date. Recorded during the winter of 2023 at De Pestkerk Studios, the album spans ten tracks and forty minutes, moving between furious tremolo-driven passages and passages of near-ceremonial stillness with a cohesion and confidence that sets it apart from everything that preceded it. “Hearken the End” is the album’s centrepiece, a waltz-paced track that opens with ethereal clean vocals before escalating without seam; the title track returns to a more layered black metal mode, and the two short interludes: “Lamentation” and “An Offering”, function as genuine structural caesuras rather than padding. Mixed and mastered in Finland at Tico Tico Studio and Finnvox Studios respectively, the record’s production allows the dynamics of the writing to carry their full weight.
Rising hard rock force OGMA continues international ascent following Irish chart success and extensive US touring with Geoff Tate. Fresh from a successful run of US tour dates alongside the legendary Queensrÿche vocalist, hard rock newcomers OGMA have announced the release of their official video for their debut single, ‘Enslaved’, out now.
Already making serious waves across the rock community, ‘Enslaved‘ marks the band’s first official release. With a visually striking video set to accompany the track, OGMA are taking another significant step towards establishing themselves as one of the most exciting new names in modern hard rock.
Formed through a shared passion for powerful songwriting, memorable riffs and arena-sized hooks, OGMA brings together three internationally recognised musicians whose paths crossed while working alongside Geoff Tate. The band’s line-up features DJ O’Sullivan (XIII Doors), James Brown (Mark Daly & The Ravens) and Jimmy Wynen (Darker Half), joined by acclaimed drummer Colin Fracknall (Today Is The Day).
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Queensrÿche, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd and Black Stone Cherry, OGMA blend classic songwriting sensibilities with a contemporary hard rock edge. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and refreshingly direct, built around soaring melodies, driving rhythms and a powerful live energy.
‘Enslaved’ serves as a perfect introduction. From its opening riff through to its anthemic chorus, the track delivers a statement of intent from a band that has already proven its credentials on some of the biggest stages in the United States. Heavy without sacrificing melody and packed with undeniable hooks, the single showcases the chemistry that has quickly become OGMA‘s defining strength.
The band’s momentum has continued to build throughout 2026. Following a successful run of shows opening for Geoff Tate earlier this year, OGMA returned to the road as part of Tate’s current US tour supporting the release of Operation: Mindcrime III. Further European dates, including performances in Spain later this summer, are already confirmed.
Industry praise has arrived just as quickly as fan support: “Whatever amount of praise and hype this band has amassed in its short life so far simply is not enough. Enslaved is an instant and vibrant shot to the veins.” MetalTalk
“They are an incredible rock band from Ireland. If you get a chance to see them, do not miss them!” Tony O’Hora (Praying Mantis, Sweet) “OGMA performed like seasoned veterans, brought an energetic stage presence, and showcased a bright future as they continue to develop their original material.” All Music Magazine
With their debut single already making an impact on both sides of the Atlantic and an ambitious touring schedule continuing throughout the year, OGMA are rapidly establishing themselves as a serious new contender within the international hard rock scene.
ABOUT OGMA OGMA is a hard-hitting rock band formed by DJ O’Sullivan (XIII Doors), James Brown (Mark Daly & The Ravens) and Jimmy Wynen (Darker Half), musicians who first connected while touring and working alongside legendary vocalist Geoff Tate. Joined by drummer Colin Fracknall (Today Is The Day), the band combine decades of international experience with a fresh creative vision rooted in classic hard rock, metal and melodic songwriting.
Their debut single, ‘Enslaved’, was released in May 2026 and reached #1 on the Irish iTunes Rock Chart, establishing OGMA as one of the most promising new acts to emerge from Ireland’s rock scene.
