Norwegian-based heavy metallers TOMORROW’S OUTLOOK have once again teamed up with the renowned guitarist/producer ‘Roy Z‘ (Bruce Dickinson, Judas Priest, Halford, Tribe of Gypsies).
In a short video update from the band the founder and co songwriter, ‘Trond Nicolaisen‘, enthusiastically speaks about the excitement of working with Roy:
“Hi! We have a big announcement! For the post production and mixing of our new album, ‘Black Waves’, we will continue to work with our good friend Roy Z. Roy has produced some of our all-time favourite albums with Bruce Dickinson, and has also worked with Rob Halford, Judas Priest, Helloween, Yngwie Malmsteen and also our good friends from Aria. Musically we are very much on the same page and we have high expectations that Roy will take this album to the next level. Roy will also play guitar on 5 songs on the album. Black Waves is the first recording made by the current line-up consisting of Andreas Stenseth (bass), Øystein Kvile Hanssen (guitars), Valentino Francavilla (guitars), Owe Lingvall (drums) and Tony Johannessen (vocals).
In June 2019 the band made their live debut in their own backyard at the Gressholman Festival outside Harstad.
The set list consisted of mostly tracks from their latest release, ‘A Voice Unheard’, but also presented some material from the upcoming album, ‘Black Waves’.
The latter is a concept album based on actual events from Gressholman itself, stretching from 1748 to the early 1900s. They tell the story of a brutal double murder which shook their small community in Northern Norway, and also about the once vital and important trading post which met its ultimate end in a fire centuries later.
Musically ‘Black Waves’ is said to be a continuation of what the band did on their previous album, ‘A Voice Unheard’.
The artwork was created by the very talented Slovakian artist, ‘Rado Javor’.

Turkish metallers PITCH BLACK PROCESS, formerly known as Affliction, have released an official video for ‘Heroes of 2020’ (feat. Cengiz Tural), dedicated to heroes of this era! ‘Heroes of 2020’ is not included in “SIR” EP. Written, recorded and produced by Pitch Black Process at Studyo Frekans / Turkey. Mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Obey Mastering / Sweden. The song is featured by Cengiz Tural, one of the most talented, influential and versatile drummers of Turkey.

The band stated: “Words which started to pour out onto paper during the heavy days of lockdown, turned out to be “Heroes of 2020” with online meetings, under the circumstances this era dictates. We wanted to share the song which we were able to record in the studio a few weeks ago, before 2020 ends. We would like to thank Cengiz Tural who put his soul into the song with great drum partitions!”
Just recently, PITCH BLACK PROCESS released their second single from their “SIR” EP, which is a cover of “Buselik Makamına”, available on all digital platforms! It is one of the most renowned and classical songs of MFÖ, who is one of the best-loved, iconic and oldest bands from Turkey. The “SIR” EP was produced and recorded by Daniel Bergstrand at Dugout Studios-Sweden, and it will be released via Rakun Müzik. The video clip of “Buselik Makamına” is directed by well-known Turkish director Ender Mıhlar, who also directed the video clip of “Zahid Bizi Tan Eyleme”. Two successful and beloved actors Celil Nalçakan and Sitare Akbaş, are also featured in the video.
PITCH BLACK PROCESS (formerly AFFLICTION) was formed in 1999. Their first two albums “One Reality” (out in May 2003) and “Execution is Necessary” (released in July 2007) got very good response nationwide and also from abroad. In November 2009 they hit the road for their first European tour playing over 20 gigs (beeing the longest tour which any Turkish band had ever made abroad until then), followed up by the 18-shows European tour with WARBRINGER, in February 2010. Before the tour with Warbringer, PITCH BLACK PROCESS signed a sponsorship deal with one of the most well-known guitar companies in the world, PRS, which was another ‘debut’ for Turkey. None of any Turkish bands had signed a sponsorship agreement with such a big brand in music industry. The 3rd album “Hand of God?” was produced by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork, etc) at Dugout Studios, came out in June 2013. In September 2013, PITCH BLACK PROCESS played on main stage at the 82nd Izmir International Fair, being the first ever metal band to play on the fair’s history. In 2015, PITCH BLACK PROCESS became part of EVH and Fender. In November 2015 the band returned to Dugout Studios to record their 4th album, “Derin” which was released in December 2016, in Turkey on Atlantis Yapim/EMP Label Group and on Ellefson Music Productions/SPV in Europe.
Finally, Swedish-American power metal supergroup NORTHTALE are complete again and today, they want to introduce their new vocalist: the 30 year old Guilherme Hirose (TRAUMER) from Sao Paolo, Brazil!
Guitarist Bill Hudson states: “After a long and grueling audition process, we are ready to announce our new singer! I’ve auditioned about 40 of the best vocalists in the world, from very famous to complete newcomers, spread through 11 countries. I wish I could’ve hired more than one, but since we needed to make a decision, I’m happy to announce GUILHERME HIROSE as our new frontman! Guilherme blew my mind through his initial auditions, nailing the songs from the first album as if they were written for his own voice. But he REALLY shined on our new songs. When he sent me the first recording, I knew he was the guy. I had no doubt. When I presented him to the band to get their opinions, they unanimously voted for him! We’re a band once again! We’re currently recording vocals at DHARMA STUDIOS in São Paulo, Brazil with engineer Rodrigo Oliveira partnering up with Dennis Ward to deliver amazing performances. We’re once again ready to hit the road!”
Guilherme Hirose adds: “Well it’s just amazing being in a band with such great world class musicians. We’ve been talking since June, and in August I received a Bill’s call, telling I me was the chosen one. Things were shaping just great since, and the new songs sound just awesome (I know it’s a cliché, but that’s exactly how it feels). I’m very much looking forward to hitting the road, as soon as possible, having fun with the guys and with you in your city!!!”

Los Angeles-based guitarist/songwriter Bill Hudson (NORTHTALE, I AM MORBID, former DIRKSCHNEIDER, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, Circle II Circle, Jon Oliva’s Pain and more) has become a very sought after name in the hard rock world in recent years. Whether he is in Germany headlining the biggest heavy metal festival in the world or in the studio recording guitars for a video game soundtrack, there’s never a dull moment in the life of the Brazilian musician. In the summer of 2015, he made history in Germany, headlining Wacken Open Air, performing in front of 80,000 fans with the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA. Hudson joined the TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA also for their winter tour in 2015, performing 52 shows in 6 weeks throughout the US and Canada for an average of 15,000 fans a day. VADERMANIAX !!! We all know the global pandemic situation pretty well. Shows – which whole Heavy Metal needs like a fish needs water – are totally unreal at the moment. This problem is not going to change most likely for next half year and even if, all those handful of performances will be reduced to small clubs or venues with very limited number of places. It is all so painful, however it is the only way to clean up the air from the virus. We have to survive it and we WILL survive it! For Solitude in Madness, VADER went outside their comfort zone to Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England, where the band teamed up with one-stop-shop Scott Atkins to engineer, produce, mix, and master for four weeks in summer 2019.
Doom rockers VESSEL OF LIGHT release a cover for Jimi Hendrix‘s ‘Foxy Lady’ on vinyl only.
Just recently, California’s Nomad Eel Records released VESSEL OF LIGHT’s single ‘Torture King’ (from their new release ‘Last Ride’). The B-side is a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Foxy Lady’ unavailable elsewhere. The 7″ is lathe cut and hand numbered. Artwork designed by vocalist Nathan Opposition. Torture King is the band’s latest video and single.
The most refined of VESSEL OF LIGHT’s releases, Last Ride, released October 23 via Nomad Eel Records, is rife with depth, harmonies, the trademark riffs and guitar sound of guitarist Dan Lorenzo while also maintaining a familiar feel. Like the haunting first single and title track from Last Ride, “There’s No Escape” has a sinister lyrical theme, keeping in line with the darker subjects that permeate this record.
Founded in 2017 by Lorenzo, best known for his work with seminal New Jersey bands Hades and Non-Fiction, and Cleveland based Opposition, the duo released two albums, Vessel of Light and Woodshed, with Italian label Argonauta Records before introducing former Overkill drummer Ron Lipnicki and former Hades bassist Jimmy Schulman into the fold for the recording of a third album, Thy Serpent Rise. It wasn’t until VESSEL OF LIGHT’s first live show before a sold-out crowd at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom with Life of Agony that vocalist and the band’s new drummer and bassist finally met, merely hours before the quartet hit the stage.
Brazilian band BAIXO CALÃO releases the single with a music video for the song “Pódio de entrada”, featuring the famous singer of the band Ratos de Porão, João Gordo. The song is released by the label Xaninho Discos and brings all the energy of Brazilian Grindcore, mixed with the punk rock of Ratos de Porão, known all over the world.
Formed in mid-1996 in the city of Belém do Pará, Baixo Calão made a hardcore punk sound. The band’s first demo, from 2003 ‘Homo Postumus’, features more Crust-Grind rhythms. In the debut album ‘Atmo Mediokra’ (2012) the band was already doing Grindcore oldschool and won a European tour in July 2012, passing through eight countries, a tour that featured participation in the festival OBSCENE EXTREME FESTIVAL (2012) that takes place in Czech Republic, sharing the stage with bands like Yacopsae, Discharge, Nasum, Gutalax and Sakata.
After some changes in formation and releases in several European countries, Baixo Calão was invited to perform some shows in 2020, due to the pandemic some were canceled and others postponed. Then, the band focused on studio work during the pandemic, generating several new compositions, including participation in splits with bands from Latin America and the release of the single with the participation of João Gordo.
Baixo Calão continues to promote his new studio album, entitled ‘Necrology’, which in 2021 will gain its LP format.
