The international “supergroup” SAINTED SINNERS around Frank Pané (Bonfire, Dark Blue Inc.) and the experienced bandmates Iacopo “Jack” Meille (Tygers of Pan Tang) on the micro, Ernesto Ghezzi (keyboardist with Eros Ramazotti and Gotthard), bassist Rico Bowen (worked with Madonna and Paul McCartney) and the founding member – beside Frank Pané – Berci Hirleman (drums), released their new third album “Unlocked & Reloaded” on December 4th, which is highly praised by the press.
Imagine the great Seattle’s grunge era meeting the alternative metal scene of the 2000’s, place them straight into the Californian desert, and you’ll get the sound and vision of Italy’s stoner rock overloads MARS ERA. Formed in 2014 in Florence, the band burst into the heavy rock scene with their critically acclaimed debut Dharmanaut. Now, MARS ERA has announced the release of their sophomore full-length titled Oniro, which will be out on February 19, 2021, via Argonauta Records!
Close before the world went on lockdown, MARS ERA started to work on their forthcoming album, which was recorded and mixed by Marco Leggio, and was mastered at the GreenFog Studio in Genoa. While the four-piece collective continues to combine both heavy and psychedelic sounds from various influences, with Oniro they step forward to create their very own way to express music. This is MARS ERA in a new chapter; full of words, music and emotions. Give ear, as the band just released a first single and video for “Brighter Than The Sun”! Watch it here:
“We are stoked to present our new album: Oniro!” MARS ERA comments.
“This first single “Brighter Than The Sun” is our favorite nightmare: it’s the glue that melts all the songs, bounded in a unique vision. We’ve been working on Oniro over three long years, with countless rehearsal sessions, discussions on each others, images and shared ideas. Oniro has become our new journey. An experience that led us to search for the hidden meaning of each vision we had.The album is a warning to an internal awakening: it’s the story of an ordinary man who finds himself facing his innermost fears which, changing through music, become real and tangible dreams. Only by facing these difficulties, our character will overcome the obstacles that arise on his long and imaginary journey. An oniric travel that leads to a final awakening. Dream, imagine and choose. Close your eyes, “this is your last breath to wake up”.”
It’s the September man, the Italian keyboard player Alberto Sonzogni that, after three years of hard work , has selected 10 tracks to be included in his upcoming debut album.
‘September Man’ ‘s sound has been driven by Sonzogni’s listenings of artists like Toto, Eagles, Joe Bonamassa and many more. The result is a unique blend of melodic rock and aor, influenced by country and blues on some tracks, that the album offers to the listeners.
During recordings Alberto has been supported by his fellow musicians Gessica Pirola – vocals; Daniele Finazzi – guitars; Nicolò Gullotto – bass e Stefano Guidi – drums. On the record many special guests appear that have already collaborated with Sonzogni on their respective albums, like Dale Sanders and The Black Phoenix (Simone Pirola).
The record is set to be released on February 12th via Freemood – Feelmaker record label, available on both CD and digital.
Sonzogni about the making of September Man: “As many debut records, this has started as a joke, I was writing small chords loops and melodies when I realized I had so much material to be able to record a full album. All this songs are born when I was listening artists like Trace Adkins, Toto, Kid Rock, Kiefer Sutherland, Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Bonamassa and many more. Every listening experience had an impact on me and I was focused on learning by these artist’s musical ideas. This is where the ispiration begun to flow to write my own songs, without mimicking these artists, but trying to be 100% me”.
Two great modern-age Empires are home to IMPERIAL AGE: Russia and Great Britain, since leader and co-founder Alexander “Aor” Osipov has always lived between these two worlds, his family being from Ayr, Scotland, while he himself resides in Moscow, Russia.
But that is not what Imperial Age is about. Formed in 2012 by Alexander Osipov and Jane Odintsova in Moscow and endorsed by genre founder Christofer Johnsson (Therion) himself, today Imperial Age is Russia’s most successful symphonic metal act and the country’s second most internationally touring metal band. The special fact about them is that they declined three offers of famous labels.
Imperial Age have brought the idea of symphonic metal (and metal in general) to its highest maximum, elevating the innate qualities of the genre – loftiness, solemnity, grandeur and overall majesty – to the highest spiritual altitudes known to rock. Today, Imperial Age use the most influential form of art (music) in its most powerful and diverse genre (symphonic metal) to inspire, empower and fill the souls and hearts of people with purest energy that enables to accomplish great deeds.
This is the type of music that can change people’s destinies. This is not the type of metal that drives into depression. And this is not the type of metal that entertains. Imperial Age does what Heavy Metal has always been meant to do – to elevate and inspire, to fill with power and belief, to open up the way towards greatness and to illuminate The Path for those seeking to tread upon it. Backed up by the colossal might of ancient forces, the great Imperial Age has begun. Tune in, and become part of the great cause that spans through millennia!
The new live DVD is out now! “LIVE ON EARTH: The Online Lockdown Concert” was recorded during their legendary online show, when people from all over the world were locked in their homes and didn’t really understand what to expect.
On 25th April, 2020 the band and their crew gathered in one of the studios in the city of Moscow. They had all the necessary documents to get through the police roadblocks and remarkable courage, because everything was closed and no-one seemed to be working at that time.
IMPERIAL AGE performed this special show for 3 hours, which was streamed all over the world and watched by 38.000 people (even in Antarctica) who donated $11,477 to the band, who had invested a lot of their own money into organizing this event. Together with the sells of the DVD the band made about 30.000 $ – and all this as and independent band.
“Live On Earth” was recorded with 5 video cameras and 32-channel audio multitrack, and now the DVD is out and ready to impress the band’s fans with 5.1 audio and 1080 (full HD) video. The DVD also includes a Q&A and a “Making of” as bonus.
IMPERIAL AGE are still doing everything DIY, keeping the complete artistic control and refusing offers from well-known labels over the years.

Michael Sweet: When you’ve fronted one of the most trailblazing groups of the MTV generation, written a stable of Billboard charting singles, filled arenas all the world over, said goodbye at the peak of it all, took stock in a thriving solo career, got the band back together for yet another record breaking run and even took a stint co-leading one of the most legendary classic rock acts ever, then you undoubtedly have a story to share. But there’s still much more to Michael Sweet than selling over eight million albums in Stryper or singing and guitar slinging for Boston, including an equally riveting behind the scenes story packed to the brim with triumph, heartbreak and redemption. Musically speaking, Sweet is coming off yet another creative high in the Stryper camp thanks to their return to form record No More Hell To Pay. Besides making an instantaneous Top 40 debut on the Billboard 200, it landed at #2 on the Top Christian Albums charts, #3 on Top Hard Rock Albums and #6 on Top Rock Albums. It’s certainly a testament to the band’s perseverance, whetting the public’s appetite all the more for solo music from Sweet.
