YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS Present Bloody New Christmas Single & Video “Drawn And Quartered”

The salty air is freezing and Swedish sea dogs YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS  are ready to trim your Christmas tree in the most chilling of ways! The collective just released their new holiday single, “Drawn And Quartered”, along with an official animated music video.

Their new single is a rum-soaked harbinger of their upcoming 7inch, Drawn And Quartered, out on December 1, 2020 via Napalm Records – heralding in the jolliest season of the year in true swashbuckling manner, but with a ghoulish grin. Wrapped in the swag of pirate folk rock, the newly-interpreted, grim covers of two Christmas classics will draw the listener into a dark underworld of blood and bones.

YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS are already well known for their singalong hymns and unmistakably folksy tunes, and now explore the less-traveled waters of yuletide tuneage! With a stiff sea breeze, a wink of the eye and a dose of bloody, dark humor, the pirates prepare for the freezing cold of winter!

YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS on the new single:
“In YE BANISHED PRIVATEERS, for the last decade we have had a yearly tradition of defiling a Christmas classic. It started as an internal joke, never intended for an audience outside of the band. Now here we are today, releasing our 2020 annual adaptation on a metal label, haha! This year, it is the traditional carol “Hosanna in Excelsis (Ding Dong Merrily on High)” that has been dragged to the chopping block to be hung, drawn and quartered beyond recognition. We doubt that we will hear this version being sung by your average christmas choir anytime soon though.”

GENUS ORDINIS DEI Reveal “Examination” Music Video And Single

Italian symphonic death metal pioneers GENUS ORDINIS DEI are back with yet another new single & music video “Examination” which contains the fourth song/episode of their metal music opera series and concept album, Glare of Deliverance. Watch the new Episode 4 “Examination” music video right now at this location.

“Examination” continues the story of Eleanor, picking up where the previous episode “Edict” left off. The Cross has her in their clutches at the Citadel, and The Inquisitor wants to know the truth, at any cost. His eyes peer and penetrate Eleanor’s mind but the truth is hidden inside her and she won’t bite the fruit of guilt. Blood will tell though, her blood. Is there no escape for Eleanor?

“In this episode, we introduce a new character, The Inquisitor” says lead vocalist & guitarist Nick Key. “I performed the part, and it was a lot of fun to play this elegant yet creepy character. The Inquisitor is an important figure in the story and you will see more of him in future episodes. The dinner scene is a metaphor of an examination, where The Inquisitor tries to force Eleanor to confess her guilt of dealing with the devil (represented by the apple). Emilia Scarpati Fanetti (who plays Eleanor) showed us all her talent in this episode with a full range of emotions from frustration to fear.” Guitarist Tommy Monticelli adds “we chose the amazing Malpaga Castle, near Bergamo. It is a medieval castle only 30 minutes from our hometown. We were able to secure the whole castle at our disposal for the entire day! It has basically no modern elements, perfectly preserved as it was in the fifteenth century and that made filming easy with no need for post-edits like removing signs, wires and other modern objects. We had one full day to shoot footage for more than two episodes and that was the hardest part. Everyone in the crew worked hard with no breaks all day long to make it happen and we’re enormously proud of them!”

Glare of Deliverance is the band’s third full-length album, and it was produced by Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio. It features ten tracks of powerful, soaring symphonic metal that will leave you amazed, both sonically and visually. The video series brings the concept art of Tom Roberts (Ghost) to life and may even give you nightmares! The horror-esque storyline leaves you feeling helpless, unable to save Eleanor from her corrupt accusers while the hooks of the music remind you of her struggle.

Glare of Deliverance is much more than a follow-up to the band’s sophomore album Great Olden Dynasty however… It is a series of ten individual songs, each with its own music video/episode. These “episodes” combine in sequence like a short film or television series that tells the story of a young woman named Eleanor who is persecuted by the Holy Inquisition. Without a doubt, this was the band’s most ambitious undertaking yet, because the scope and vision of the project had grown monumentally huge in comparison to their previous projects. Aside from recording & producing an album worthy of a Grammy in the metal category, the band had to pull together a full production team for the video series which consisted of concept artist Tom Roberts (Ghost), costume designers, animal trainers, a cast of actors & actresses, visual effects supervisors, special effects wizards, stuntmen, catering services, and even a full orchestral choir. By securing special permits, and quarantine of cast & crew they were able to stay on schedule throughout the first half of 2020, and the result is an epic masterpiece of symphonic metal combined with the executed artistic vision of four brilliant musicians.

Glare of Deliverance will be released on December 4, 2020 via Eclipse Records.

Fast screaming guitar tunes pave the way as brutal madness unfolds on “Into The Fray”. Swedish Thrash Metal War machine WARFECT pushes itself through spheres of pure heaviness directly into your core on their third single fresh off the new album, Spectre of Devastation, to be released this Friday, November 13!

WARFECT on ”Into The Fray”:
“The song “Into The Fray” is about the Russian submarine disaster when Kursk sank during a military training operation and the horrors the crew faced during this event. The music is not only fast but has also heavy mid-tempo sections – perfect for headbanging – and takes a more melodic turn coming into the chorus. Check it out!”

Watch the Lyric Video for “Into The Fray” HERE!

Founded in 2003, WARFECT is one of the most convincing yet underrated acts in the Swedish metal scene. Straight from the Gothenburg underground, the three-piece carries their full potential to the next level with their fourth studio album Spectre of Devastation!

For over a decade, Warfect have brought their blackened thrash metal to the hordes. Now, four years after the release of their previous full-length, Scavengers, the Swedish thrash metal three-piece hailing from Uddevalla are even more forceful and have announced their furious new offering, Spectre Of Devastation, out November 13. After recently signing with Napalm Records, WARFECT are now taking the next step with their fourth album by unveiling a true thrash metal engine.

WARFECT states:
“We’re thrilled to unveil the details of our upcoming album Spectre of Devastation! The album was recorded earlier this year with our own Fredrik Wester at the helm and Flemming Rasmussen doing the mastering. The cover artwork was masterfully done by Andreas Marschall and sets the mood of the album on the spot.”

WARFECT – Spectre Of Devastation
The thrash metal powerhouse pushes itself through spheres of pure heaviness directly into your core! Songs like “Left To Rot” mix a blackened attitude into the thrash outfit, while “Into The Fray” leads back to the origins of the genre by implementing fast screaming guitar tunes. The exceptional cover artwork is illustrated by leading German cover artwork designer Andreas Marschall, known for his work for bands like King Diamond, Kreator, Sodom, Obituary and Blind Guardian, to just name a few.

The eight songs of Spectre of Devastation convince with on-point production and the great mastering skills of Grammy winning producer Flemming Rasmussen, who burst onto the scene by working on Rainbow’s Difficult To Cure and Metallica’s all time genre classics Ride The Lightning, Masters Of Puppets and …And Justice For All, before he won the Grammy for his work on the legendary song “One”.

Metal Blade Records is proud to welcome Denmark’s IOTUNN to its worldwide roster!

Formed in 2015, Iotunn (which is old Norse for “Giant”) entered the scene with their acclaimed EP, The Wizard Falls (2016), which was mixed by Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica, Morbid Angel, Blind Guardian, Rainbow) at Sweet Silence Studios. After some line-up changes, the band found their voice and narrator in March 2018: Jón Aldará (Hamferd), plus bassist Eskil Rask (Sunless Dawn) in October 2019. The quintet – completed by Jens Nicolai Gräs (guitars), Jesper Gräs (guitars), Bjørn Wind Andersen (drums) – then began work on their first full-length and Metal Blade Records debut: Access All Worlds.

Iotunn comments: “As we have worked intensely on creating ‘Access All Worlds‘, we find our partnership with Metal Blade Records to be a culmination. We are proud and thankful of where we’re at right now. Metal Blade seems like the right home for us and we are convinced that the future looks bright!”

Mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (In Flames, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir) at Fredman Studios, Access All Worlds is set for an early 2021 release. Stay tuned for more Iotunn news coming soon!
