SAVAGE LANDS are releasing the full video of their star-studded performance at last year’s Hellfest. The metal non-profit, which was founded by Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren and musician-turned-activist Sylvain Demercastel, performed songs off their debut album Army of the Trees on the festival’s main stage alongside Vincent Price (Body Count), Billy Graziadei (Biohazard), Shane Embury (Napalm Death), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) and other leading voices from across the world of metal.

Army of the Trees is out now on Season of Mist.

Just listening to Army of the Trees helps support Savage Lands. 100% of the song’s royalties fund the musician-run non-profit’s ongoing preservation efforts.

Last year’s Hellfest 2024 marked a turning point for Savage Lands. The festival announced that they are donating €1 million to support the organization’s reforestation and biodiversity initiatives in Costa Rica and Europe. Their performance concluded with a stirring rendition of “Roots Bloody Roots,” which amplified the project’s rallying call for ecological action.

Beyond the stage, Savage Lands continue to grow. In France, they recently launched the Alliance of the Trees with three local associations: Association Francis Hallé, Etats Sauvages and Semeurs de Forêts. Together, these organizations will coordinate reforestation and preservation efforts on a national scale.

Savage Lands is also preparing a landmark initiative for this Saturday, September 20. In collaboration with Heilung, Hellfest Productions, the Jane Goodall Institute France, and Association Protection des Animaux Sauvages (ASPAS), Savage Lands will bring 10 metal fans to witness the inauguration of the first Jane Goodall wildlife reserve in Brittany, France.

Having seen first-hand how deforestation threatens Costa Rica’s rain forest, two angry metalheads are banging their heads together to protect the world’s ecosystem.

“After hearing the chainsaws on a daily basis, we knew it was time to act”, says musician-turned-activist Sylvain Demercastel, “because the buzzing is only getting louder”.

Sylvain founded Savage Lands with his long-time friend and Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren in 2022. Thanks to their music, the 501 (c) (3) non-profit has preserved 100,000 square feet of forest in high-risk areas along the Costa Rican coastline. 100% of the royalties from their first album, Army of the Trees, support their ongoing preservation projects in Costa Rica and other countries.

The roots behind Savage Lands run deep. Dirk and Sylvain first met in France during the late ‘90s, when they both played in the socially conscious thrash metal band Artsonic. But just like a tree, the organization is supported by different types of branches.

“As a non-profit, we depend on the support of other organizations, fellow artists and our listeners”, Dirk says.

In Costa Rica, Savage Lands partners with scientists, forest engineers, ecological parks, private businesses and other non-profits. Their Green Alliance(Alianza Verde) has led to more than 11,000 trees being planted in deforested areas throughout Costa Rica thanks to the help of 1,200 volunteers.

“What Savage Lands is doing is fantastic,” says Dr. Jane Goodall, whose global institute is partnering with the metal non-profit’s European branch on preservation projects in France and Africa. “Nature is music. Trees have music, but when we lose species after species, our ecosystem collapses. Savage Lands are using their music to support projects that promote biodiversity, which will help make the world better for future generations”.

Collaboration also fuels the creative fires of Savage Lands. The core band includes Poun and Etienne Treton from the veteran French metalcore band Black Bomb A, along with Loco Muerte’s Florian Pons. When they planted their ecological flag on Hellfest’s main stage in 2024, movers and shakers from across the metal sphere showed up to support. Not only did the festival leader pledge to donate 1 million Euro to the organizations over the next five years. Daniel de Jongh (Textures), Silje Wergeland (The Gathering), Jesper Liveröd (Nasum), Alejandro Montoya (Cultura tres), Vincent Price (Body Count), Billy Graziadei (Biohazard), Shane Embury (Napalm Death) and Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) all joined for an appropriately bloody and scream-worthy rendition of “Roots”.

“I’m happy to be a part of such a truly important cause”, Embury said after the performance. “We are connected with every living thing on this planet and Savage Lands is helping to preserve nature’s treasures”.

Army of the Trees features even more metallic fire power. Out of the sludgy distortion that spews from “The Last Howl” crawls Obituary’s John Tardy, who pays a fitting tribute to the endangered Howler monkey by unleashing his inner primate with spit-flinging growls. “Black Rock Heart” carves out a wickedly blackened groove, though the song’s aggressive chug is fueled by more spiritual concerns. “We wanted the music to reflect our mounting frustration with the way the real estate heat wave is destroying Costa Rica’s ecosystem”, Sylvain says. “For so long, nature has been trying to warn us that we’re putting our future at risk”. Who else could represent the magical spirit of the forest but visionary artist Chloé Trujillo and Heilung’s chief of ceremonies Kai Uwe Faust.

Heilung are also working with Savage Lands outside of the recording studio. The world-famous Nordic collective donated $1 for every ticket sold during their most-recent U.S. tourto support their Season of Mist labelmates. “Supporting Savage Lands was an easy decision for us”, says Maria Franz, whose soothing high notes grace the melancholic power ballad “No Remedy”.

“That’s another beautiful thing about Savage Lands”, Sylvain says. “As a band, we’re not limited to just one genre. We can adapt to boost the strengths of whomever is joining us”.

Savage Lands’ debut album introduces several new species of metalhead to their ecosystem. Eurovision’s darlings Lord Of The Lost spill their blood and glitter over the spiky riffs that puncture “Out of Breath”. Holding court over lead single “Ruling Queen” with her serpentine cleans and lioness roar is none other than Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz. “Now is the time to take a stand”, the band roar in a fierce rallying cry during the album’s climactic title track, backed by Julien Truchan from Benighted and other pillars from the French metal community.

“Our goals are attainable,” Sylvain and Dirk say. “By converting the land that we purchase into nature sanctuaries, Savage Lands will help set a precedent for environmental activism. But we must work together and quickly. Ecosystems are still under attack. If we don’t, then there won’t be any wildlife left to save”.

Raise your horns and join the Army of the Trees in support of the metal  non-profit.

AXTY Drop New Video Single ‘Selfish’ + Sign with Napalm Records

Napalm Records is pleased to announce the signing of emerging Brazilian metalcore/deathcore talent AXTY to a worldwide record deal! Formed in 2020 amid the uncertainty of the pandemic, AXTY quickly established itself as the most promising name in the Brazilian modern metal scene.

With more than seven million streams on Spotify, the band has drawn attention not only in Brazil but also across the globe, thanks to its visceral blend of heaviness, powerful screams, and soaring clean vocals that create an emotionally charged and intense experience. Entirely self-produced, AXTY stands out for its ability to merge a modern, heavy sound with cutting-edge audiovisual production, all handled by the musicians themselves.

Napalm Records is thrilled to partner with AXTY as they finalize their upcoming fourth studio album, which features the band’s brand new single, “selfish”, out today! “selfish” – which aggressively grooves amid cutting electronics and a spine-ripping vocal attack – is just a taste of what AXTY is promising as their most ambitious work to date, further strengthening their position as one of the leading names of the new generation in modern metal.

AXTY says about the new single:

“Our music is as true as we are. Raw, authentic, and filled with emotions we all had to deal with.

‘selfish’ was written in a moment of anger after the end of a toxic relationship that had lasted way too long, and it took a toll on my mental health.

I’m through this now, but we often lack the courage to say ‘enough’ when we’re going through this. We hope this song will serve as a milestone in our listeners’ lives. Giving them the strength to get out of this draining, frustrating, and cruel situation.”

AXTY says about signing to Napalm Records:
“We’re beyond excited to announce our signing with Napalm Records, one of the world’s leading independent metal labels, responsible for shaping the path of some of the biggest and most groundbreaking bands in the scene. This is truly a dream come true for us. This partnership marks a huge step in our career, and we can’t wait to share with you everything that’s coming next.

Signing with Napalm was without a doubt the right decision, as it’s a label that truly understands our vision. It gives us the confidence that we’ll have the support to spread our art to the world, with total artistic freedom and, at the same time, the professional backing of such an incredible team. Being welcomed into this family means the world to us, and we’re extremely excited for what’s ahead. We also want to thank the entire Napalm team for the amazing reception and openness they’ve shown us since day one.

We believe this achievement goes beyond just us, it’s also about showing the world that Brazil has an incredible scene filled with talented and powerful bands that deserve recognition. We’re proud to carry this flag and represent not only AXTY, but also the strength and creativity of Brazilian metalcore on the global stage.”

Napalm Records Junior A&R Manager Christian Hollik adds:
“When I first listened to AXTY, I was completely stunned by their heaviness. The heavy metalcore riffs, the deathcore parts, and those catchy choruses combined with the very unique voice Felipe brings to it. I’m happy to have them on board at Napalm Records. This band will make its way to success, and I’m looking forward to the fact that we’re on this journey together.”

After sharing festival stages with genre heavyweights like Falling in Reverse, Killswitch Engage and Fit For A King, and making their USA debut just last year, AXTY is set to return to the States this fall. The band will join Born of Osiris as support on their upcoming tour, kicking off September 25. They will perform alongside fellow support acts The Browning, VCTMS, and Lost in Separation. BROKEN WINGS Release Video for New Single ‘Crossroad’

On September 15th, 2025, Broken Wings officially presented to the public “Crossroad”, their new single now available on all digital platforms, and the very first preview of their upcoming album “23”.

“Crossroad” is a song deeply rooted in the legend of Robert Johnson and his fabled pact with the devil, yet it also opens up to modern reflections: the crossroads of life, crucial choices, dreams to pursue, and the fears that so often hold us back.

The track intertwines atmospheres of hope and despair, rebellion and fate, reminding us that—despite every fall—life always offers the chance to rise again.

Musically, the song blends the raw essence of traditional blues with modern grooves, creating a unique and recognizable signature style. Adding to the magic of the single is the extraordinary contribution of Fabio Drusin (founder and frontman of W.I.N.D., with over forty years of career and collaborations with artists such as Johnny Neel, Billy Gibbons, Marc Ford, Warren Haynes, Gary Moore, and many more), who enriches the track with harmonica, tambourine, and maracas, giving it an even more visceral and authentic soul.

As Broken Wings state:

“Crossroad is the beating heart of our new album ‘23’. It’s the song that represents our musical evolution: the meeting point between past and future, between mystery, dreams, inner struggle, and transformation. Above all, it’s about choice—the invisible thread that ties every track of the album together.”

Alongside the single release, the official music video for “Crossroad” is also available, produced by the Malalinea Video Agency team, formed by Andro Peressutti & Riccardo Sabbadini.

A work crafted with top-level professionalism, it enhances the power and soul of the track with striking and visually impactful imagery.

ABOUT BROKEN WINGS

Formed in Udine in 2018, Broken Wings are one of the most energetic and promising rock acts on the Italian scene. The band is composed of Sabrina Coianiz (vocals), Massimo Zanuttini (guitar), Ilenia Serini (drums), and Gabriele Plai (bass).

With significant international experiences behind them—from the historic stages of Los Angeles such as the Rainbow and Whisky a Go Go, to sharing the stage with bands like Europe, Wolfmother, The Dead Daisies, Crashdïet, Vicious Rumors, and Pino Scotto—Broken Wings have established themselves as an authentic and distinctive force in contemporary rock.

Today, with “Crossroad”, a brand-new chapter of their musical journey officially begins.

BILL CLOVE Drops New Single ‘Looming Against Wavering Light’ from “Through Shadow To Fire” Album

BILL CLOVE has released a new single ‘Looming Against Wavering Light’, taken from his latest “Through Shadow To Fire” album.

Emerging from the rolling plains of Iowa, United States, Bill Clove is a one‑man symphonic death metal project that blends relentless aggression with sweeping orchestral grandeur. In 2022 he unveiled Perilous Passage, an album forged from a lifelong love of metal, classical composition, and cinematic soundtracks. Though he first picked up a guitar in a church youth group hammering out surf rock riffs, Bill quickly gravitated toward heavier, more complex music. Drawing inspiration from genre‑defining acts such as Shadow of Intent, Inferi, and Aephanemer, he weaves baroque and neoclassical virtuosity into a wall of crushing guitars and drums. Balancing a career as a dentist and family life, Bill remains a relentless creator, constantly composing new material for his next release. Stay tuned for upcoming songs, videos, and behind‑the‑scenes glimpses of his creative process on Bandcamp, Facebook, and YouTube.

Vader’s Peter Wiwczarek shared:

“VADERMANIAX !!! We ended the summer concert season with three concerts in the last weekend of August. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH for wonderful moments and total craziness and Massive Music for organization and great atmosphere on all trips in the summer season 2025 \m/.
These were also the last concerts in 2025 in Poland and Europe. Upcoming plans are the Carnival of Death Tour tour in the USA/Canada in October.
Because we and Massive Music are still receiving inquiries about more concerts in Poland – we will try to organize one more weekend in December this year. I hope that in 2026, we will see each other more often at the common craziness in our country. It will be the 20th anniversary of the album “Impressions In Blood”. We will also like to remind you of the wider “Kingdom” (expect a new edition of this title soon). There are also plans for something special that we haven’t done before… but let’s wait for the specifics. The new Vader album will definitely be made next year – but let’s rather expect the release at the beginning of 2027.
Below is a memento KAT cover from the concert in Zamo Pć in August shared from the Janusz Bb collection. Thanks \m/”

Just recently VADER celebrated the 25th Anniversary of their classic “Litany” album, which originally came out on Metal Blade Records in 2000 with a special vinyl reissue edition. The original 11 tracks / 31 minutes of “Litany” were newly re-mastered for vinyl by Wojtek Wieslawski / Hertz Recording Studio and the LP also includes a 16-page booklet with new liner-notes by band leader, guitarist and vocalist Peter Wiwczarek.

The “Litany (25th Anniversary Reissue)” LP is available via Metal Blade Records:
in Europe: https://shop.metalblade.de/collections/vader
in North America: https://metalblade.indiemerch.com/collections/vader

Vader’s Peter Wiwczarek commented in the liner notes as follows about “Litany”: “‘Litany’ was definitely our fastest and most brutal album ever recorded…This year the album celebrates its quarter-century and we want to remind you of the power of these brutal riffs. The album returns to the stages in full form. Many of the songs haven’t been played since the 2000-2001 promotional tour. Some of them have never been played. I invite you to the world of ‘Litany’! Remember…you enter here at your own risk!”

Five years after the much-lauded 12th studio album Solitude In Madness, VADER return with 3 brand-new tracks once again produced by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studio, UK. EVOKEN Unleash Video for Second Single ‘None’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 16, 2025

Funeral Doom icons EVOKEN have delivered another intense taste of their highly-anticipated new full-length record, entitled ‘Mendacium’, which will be out on October 17 via Profound Lore Records. Following the release of the first single ‘Matins’, the band follows up today with the track ‘None’, which is accompanied by a brand new video clip directed, produced and edited by Eva Tusquets.

Offering insight into the song, the band states: “We unveil the sixth Benedictine hour, ‘None,’ a hollow chant of the monastic life. It lays bare the struggle of a deluded monk, torn between blind faith and the desires his dogma cannot rule.”

Stream the single HERE

Where EVOKEN‘s latest album ‘Hypnagogia’ would see the band capture and focus on a more melancholic, tangible, and even more of an accessible sonic design, ‘Mendacium’ takes that acute shift back to the monumental dirge-like dread and woeful catacombic and disharmonious heaviness reminiscent of the band’s ‘Quietus’ and ‘Antithesis of Light’ masterworks. All while still encapsulating the tectonic-shifting nature of their ‘Caress of the Void’ and ‘Atra Mors’ releases while venturing more through classic gothic audial textures and even treading a little down experimental mire as well, reminiscing an aura seeping from such luminary artists as Dead Can Dance, Monumentum, and Disembowelment.

To signal this shift in sound harking back to this previous era, the band would recall the services of producer Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal who worked with EVOKEN on their ‘Antithesis of Light’ and ‘Quietus’ albums respectively. The result being ‘Mendacium’ capturing a sepulchral heaviness saturated in ambience with even more of an emphasis on deathlike dread and anguish; an ambience reflecting the depths and catacombs of an ancient cathedral or monastery, ultimately defining ‘Mendacium’ as EVOKEN’s most powerful sounding album to date.

Cover by ‘Worthless’

‘Mendacium’ tells the tale of a fourteenth-century elderly Benedictine monk whose illness prevents him from leaving his cell in the monastery. His faith and service to God can never be satiated. Slowly declining in health and sleepless from continuous pain, the monk encounters a hideous entity emerging through a tear in reality. The story questions, is the torment of this monk by each passing hour being inflicted by this entity or is it all within his own mind?

‘Mendacium’ will be out on October 17 via Profound Lore Records
and is available for pre-order at THIS LOCATION
