ELECTRIC CALLBOY drop a surprise for fans: an explosive cover of SUM 41’s iconic anthem “Still Waiting”, featuring none other than Frank Zummo on drums. This powerhouse collaboration brings the raw energy of the original into the band’s own chaotic and fun-loving world, captured in a high-voltage performance across summer festivals.

The band shares:
“Sum 41 has been with us since our youth, and ‘Still Waiting’ was one of those songs we grew up with. When Frank Zummo played with us at festivals in Australia, we jammed it live—and the crowd went insane. From there, the idea was born: let’s record it our way!”

Meanwhile, Electric Callboy gear up for their massive 2025–2026 headline arena tour, with multiple SOLD-OUT shows across Europe, including London’s Alexandra Palace, Frankfurt’s Festhalle, and Hamburg’s Barclays Arena.

Blackbriar are proud to finally present their new studio album, A Thousand Little Deaths, released today via Nuclear Blast Records. A modern masterpiece steeped in gothic mystique, featuring breathtaking tracks such as The Fossilized Widow, Floriography, A Last Sigh of Bliss, I Buried Us  and Harpy.

Today, the band have also revealed a video for ‘Bluebeard’s Chamber‘, the album’s opener. The track is a fatalistic romatic tale, inspied by the classic French fairytale.

Vocalist Zora Cock comments:
“Sometimes curiosity feels so strong that it’s almost as if you’re compelled to look by some unseen force, just as Aurora pricked her finger on the spinning wheel, which led her to a cursed sleep. A destructive kind of curiosity like Pandora’s, who opened the box, releasing all evil into the world. Or like Psyche, who couldn’t resist shining a light on her mysterious lover, only to lose him and be left pleading for forgiveness. Mine felt more like opening Bluebeard’s chamber, leaving me covered in blood.”

Canadian death metal force LAST RETCH unleash another lethal strike with their brand-new single “Dissolved in Lye (Down to Rot)”, taken from the forthcoming full-length “Abject Cruelty”, due out September 26th, 2025 via Time To Kill Records.

“Dissolved in Lye (Down to Rot)” is the second single from the band’s sophomore album. This relentless, high-speed track delves into the desire to annihilate one’s own body in pursuit of unity with death, seeking immortality through self-mutilation, using substances to transcend reality, and grasping for any means to escape the crushing weight of mental illness and addiction. The lyrics serve as a stark reflection of the hardships endured by society’s most vulnerable, ultimately highlighting the devastating effects of opioid and stimulant addiction.

“Abject Cruelty” stands as a testament to LAST RETCH’s dedication to relentless riffing and unflinching heaviness.

LAST RETCH is a death metal band hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

They first made their mark in early 2021 with a well-received demo that captured their raw, unfiltered sound and quickly drew the attention of underground death metal fans. In September 2022, LAST RETCH released their debut full-length album, “Sadism and Severed Heads”, a savage collection of nine tracks that pushed their sound to new levels of intensity and featured cover artwork by renowned painter Paolo Girardi. Building on this momentum, the band released the “Ergotism” EP in April 2024, showcasing their evolution with a tighter, even more aggressive sound.

LAST RETCH continues to refine their approach to death metal, never shying away from brutality while adding new layers of depth and atmosphere to their music. In 2025, the band will return with a new album, an even more structured and well-produced effort that promises to be their most impressive work to date.

Line-up:

Finlay Blakelock – Vocals
Matt Fyke – Bass
Spencer Robson – Drums
Derek Brzozowski – Guitar
John Russell – Guitar

Bio:

SYRINX – Heavy moods. Hard grooves. Progressive fire from the fringe.

Born in the shadows of a slanted farmhouse outside Vancouver, SYRINX is a heavy metal/progressive rock collective led by guitarist, producer, Graham McGee. Known for their theatrical flair and cerebral songwriting, the band delivers a fresh and unique blend of oldschool heavymetal and classic prog wizardry — echoing the likes of Rush, Genesis, Fates Warning, Queensrÿche, and Judas Priest.

SYRINX began over a decade ago when McGee met powerhouse vocalist Jean-Pierre Abboud (JP) during a wild 30-date Canadian tour with their former band Funeral Circle. When that group folded, the two set their sights on a more expansive sonic path — moving away from gothic and occult themes into deeper, more musically daring territory. From this shift, SYRINX emerged. After their first two releases in 2019 and 2020, SYRINX went dormant as McGee battled a severe case of Lyme disease, stepping away from music entirely. But the silence didn’t last. Returning with renewed fire, McGee unexpectedly linked up with drummer Seth Lyon—whose precision, creativity, and shared love of odd time signatures (and black coffee… and Rush) sparked an instant chemistry. In the foothills of the Pacific West Coast mountains, SYRINX breathed again.

Their upcoming sophomore LP Time Out of Place was nearly derailed just weeks before recording when their bassist unexpectedly left the band. But rather than crumble, the band saw it as an opportunity. Enter Bobby Shock — a multi-instrumentalist from New Jersey who slid effortlessly into the SYRINX groove and smashed it out of the park on incredibly short notice. A fully aligned creative energy, Bobby is SYRINX in every way — and his presence elevated the album to a whole new level.

The band’s lineup now includes Graham McGee (guitar/synths), JP (vocals), Seth Lyon (drums), and Bobby Shock (bass/synth), with supporting vocals from Lady Chanelle, McGee’s wife a gifted vocalist whose harmonies add dimension and grace to the band’s already diverse sound. McGee and Shock also both wield Moog Taurus pedals and synths live, giving the band a crushing live presence rarely matched on modern stages!

Despite being spread across Vancouver, Denver, and New Jersey, the members work with focused intensity whenever they’re physically together.

This fall, SYRINX returns with a new album. music videos, a limited vinyl/cd release plus live performances and festival announcements.
