Exclusive Premiere for Finland: LOTAN ‘Scorched Tyranny’ Official Video

Posted by tarjavirmakari on August 1, 2025
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: LOTAN. Leave a comment

A rebellion burns beneath the ruins of tyranny. “Scorched Tyranny” is LOTAN’s anarchist battle cry, a venomous roar from the people to the elite. In a world ruled by fear and contempt, the new single from the Danes ignites the ashes of oppression and calls for revolt through chaos. This is not a prayer. It is a declaration of war.

Join the premiering here:

With “Yetzer Hara”, Lotan unleash a searing new chapter of blackened death metal – furious, unrelenting, and razor-sharp in its intent.

Forged in the fires of Denmark’s extreme metal underground, Lotan deliver a blistering fusion of blackened death metal and social defiance. Inspired by the likes of Behemoth, Hate, Mgła, and Anaal Nathrakh, the band blends nihilism and aggression with a confrontational critique of modern decay. “Yetzer Hara” is not just an album: it is a reckoning. Drawing from the biblical tale of Cain and Abel, Lotan delve into the destructive urges that define humanity’s fall from grace, invoking themes of internal conflict, moral collapse, and primal violence.

“Our sound is a weapon – forged in fury, aimed at the puppeteers who thrive on division and decay”, the band states. Across the album’s brutal compositions and incendiary lyrics, Lotan channel raw emotion into resistance – fierce, articulate, and uncompromising.

On stage, their live shows are no mere performance, but a total sensory assault: immersive, volatile, and unforgettable. Lotan aren’t just playing music – they’re igniting a movement.

“This is not escapism. This is resistance. In the name of distortion”.

“Yetzer Hara” will be released digitally on 15.08.2025, via Emanzipation Productions.

BEHEMOTH to Reissue “Pandemonic Incantations” on September 12th

Polish extreme metal legends BEHEMOTH will reissue their stunning Pandemonic Incantations full-length next month.

Originally released in 1998, Pandemonic Incantations marked a crucial turning point in BEHEMOTH‘s evolution – from their early black metal roots into the more complex, aggressive fusion of black and death metal that would define their later work. With this third full-length, the Polish horde expanded both sonically and thematically, offering a darker, more layered sound while continuing to sharpen their lyrical focus on occultism, anti-dogma, and self-deification.

Now, over twenty-five years later, Metal Blade Records proudly presents a definitive reissue of Pandemonic Incantations, available September 12th. The expanded edition features seven bonus tracks, including the Bewitching The Pomerania EP and rare rough mixes. A twenty-page booklet dives deep into the album’s legacy with archival photos, liner notes, and brand-new interviews reflecting on the record’s lasting impact. The reissue also features new cover art by Eliran Kantor, paying tribute to the original artwork while reimagining it through a contemporary lens.

Offers band founder Nergal, “Pandemonic Incantations marked a significant leap forward in our evolution. It was a milestone made possible by overhauling the lineup and bringing Inferno into the band – it was a game changer. We recorded the best album we could at that point. To this day, I often hear from fans who say it’s their favourite BEHEMOTH record. Even the sonic imperfections don’t overshadow the mature arrangements and solid song writing. I’m still very proud of it.“

This reissue is not just a nod to BEHEMOTH‘s past – it is a vital piece of extreme metal history, reborn for longtime fans and new listeners alike.

BEHEMOTH‘s Pandemonic Incantations reissue will be released as a 2xCD digibook and digitally as well as 2xLP in various color variants.

SOWULO Converse with Death on New Single ‘Sōl ond Māni’

For the past 15 years, Faber Horbach has traced our connection with the sun through the music of Sowulo, but his upcoming concept album  journeys into darkness. Written while grieving the loss of both his father and stepfather, the new single from NIHT is a mythopoetic lament. Looking to Norse cosmology,  “Sōl ond Māni” explores the loss of both light and life by using a broken instrument to give death a voice.

The music video for “Sōl ond Māni” was filmed and directed by Vincent de Fallois. Color grading was done by Micky Huijsmans

NIHT comes out August 29 on Season of Mist.

Tracklist:
1. Niwe Mōna (1:03)
2. Seolfren Sicol (3:43)
3. Āsteorfan (4:00) [WATCH]
4. Sōl ond Māni (5:24) [WATCH]
5. Full Mōna (4:18)
6. Miċele Steorran (4:33)
7. Mōnaþblōd (4:12)
8. Nihtēagan (4:04)
9. Carnyx (3:46)
10. Eald Mōna (5:22)
11. Swefnian (4:14)
12. Heolstor Sċeadu (4:04)
13. Genihtian (1:35)
Full runtime: 50:18

Sowulo will make their grand return to Castlefest this Friday, August 1.

“Sōl ond Māni” takes inspiration from Scandinavian mythology. Carried along over a slow pounding of drums by carnyx, tagelharpa and other ancestral instruments, grieving vocals tell the story of the Sun and the Moon being chased by two mythological wolves until the time of Ragnarök. Moving from whispered incantation to feral howl, the song descends into a place where myth, memory and mourning coalesce.

“The wolves will catch the sun and moon when that fated time comes and their light will spill like blood until there will be no light left”, Horbach says. “This will leave the world in fimbulwinter, when only darkness and conflict remains”.

Last year, Horbach lost both his father and stepfather. Their absence echoes throughout “Sōl ond Māni” through the sawing strings of a broken Nyckelharpa. This fiddle-like instrument accidentally fell onto the ground following one of Sowulo’s live performances. “Writing this song became a way to give the death of this instrument a voice”, Horbach continues. “To let it sing through its brokenness and turn that into something meaningful”.

Broken Nyckelharpa played on “Sōl ond Māni”

Sowulo is the evocative musical work of Faber Horbach, blending the spiritual philosophy of ancient Northern Europe with the continuous cycles of the universe.

Through the use of a wide array of historical instruments, melancholic melodies, and philosophical lyrics in Anglo-Saxon, Sowulo crafts an immersive sonic landscape that invites listeners to embark on an inner journey.

Weaving together the sounds of instruments like the Carnyx, Nyckelharpa, Celtic Harp, Shaman drums, Blow horns, Irish Bouzouki, Taglharpa, Lyre, Viola and various traditional vocal techniques, Sowulo shapes its distinctive sound.

The name “Sowulo,” meaning “Sun” in Proto-Germanic, reflects the essence of the music. As we circle the sun, we feel the cyclical nature of life: day and night, the four seasons, birth and death, and the eternal dance between decay and renewal.

Finnish rock band Shiraz Lane are pleased to announce the release of their new studio album, “In Vertigo”, out on October 24, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl. The record will be available in the following formats: CD, digital, white vinyl, and a limited edition gold vinyl.
To celebrate the announcement, the band share the new single and official visualizer, “Come Alive”, available today.

The band commented: “Come Alive” is the perfect summer banger built on an irresistible groove. It’s the ultimate soundtrack for letting loose and living in the heat of the moment”.

“The track has all the elements for a true Shiraz Lane classic – a quirky, distinctive guitar riff, seductive song structure and an anthemic singalong chorus. The explosive production and addictive hooks make it a standout song. With this wild and untamed energy, we invite you to “Come Alive” with us and enjoy the rush of pure Rock N’ Roll!”, they added.

Pre-Order “In Vertigo” HERE

“In Vertigo” marks a bold new chapter in Shiraz Lane’s evolution. It’s an ambitious, modern,
and emotionally charged rock album born from relentless creativity, exploration and
collaboration.

It’s a bold and genre-blending record, produced and co-written once again by longtime collaborator Per Aldeheim (Def Leppard, H.E.A.T, Pain). Packed with razor-sharp hooks, soaring melodies and high-octane attitude, “In Vertigo” pushes the band’s sound into exciting new territory, fusing pop-metal energy with a modern production edge and fearless genre crossovers.

Preceded by the explosive singles “Dangerous”, “Bullsh!t”, and the emotionally charged “Plastic Heart”, the album showcases Shiraz Lane’s evolution while staying true to their raw rock roots.

With Aldeheim’s polished yet powerful production and standout performances by Hannes Kett (vocals), Jani Laine (lead guitar), Miki Kalske (rhythm guitar), Joel Alex (bass), and Ana Vilkkumaa (drums), “In Vertigo” is the band’s most daring and dynamic release to date.

Brilliantly unpredictable and unapologetically melodic, In Vertigo proves that Shiraz Lane is not just riding the wave of modern melodic rock – they’re reshaping it!

“In Vertigo” Tracklist:

1.    Stone Cold Lover
2.    Dangerous
3.    The Ray Of Light
4.    Live A Little More
5.    Babylon
6.    Plastic Heart
7.    Sayonara Love
8.    Bullsh!T
9.    Come Alive
10.    Brand New Day

Hailing from Vantaa, Finland, Shiraz Lane started their musical journey in 2011. Their vision of a perfect blend of sonic combustion and elegant delicacy started to blossom and reach its potential when the current line-up was solidified in 2014 and the band released their first EP “Be The Slave Or Be The Change”.

The band gained great international attention from the very beginning, and soon the young Finns
were flying from Japan to South America, playing in Europe’s coolest clubs & summer festivals and had their warm first contact also with the US audience on the Monsters of Rock cruise.

Shiraz Lane resonates through their double-edged guitar sound (provided by Jani Laine and Miki
Kalske), percussive ground-pounding clockwork (Ana Vilkkumaa, drums & Joel Alex, bass) and the supersonic melodies chanted by lead singer Hannes Kett. They are one of the most intriguing and entertaining bands in the current Hard Rock scene, bringing in a fresh breeze in terms of both compositions and live performance.

In addition to their debut EP, other most notable releases include the albums “For Crying Out Loud”, “Carnival Days”, “Vibration I”, “Forgotten Shades Of Life” and “Acoustic Archives’’.

Although wearing inspiration and paying homage to their predecessors, the sound and style of Shiraz Lane is unique, bold and contemporary. This has manifested in collaborations such as extensive international touring (sharing stages with bands such as KISS, Deep Purple, H.E.A.T &
Crashdïet), national TV appearances, the gaming world and, most importantly, an exponentially growing & dedicated fanbase around the world.

MYSTIC CIRCLE Reveal New Details, Pre-Sale + New Video Single ‘Ghost Of Whitechapel’ of Upcoming Studio Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on July 31, 2025

Since the unholy reunion between the two MYSTIC CIRCLE founders A. Blackwar and Beelzebub in 2021, the Germanic black metal wargods are stronger than ever. What began anew in 2022 with the self-titled “Mystic Circle” album and was rewarded with a sensational #78 place in the German album charts, was continued the following year with “Erzdämon” and now completed with “Hexenbrand 1486”. The band’s forthcoming studio offering has been announced for a release on October 31, 2025 via ROAR, and will be available on CD and Vinyl (both featuring a comic) as well as Digital formats. The pre-sale has just started at: https://mysticcircle.rpm.link/hexenbrandPR

MYSTIC CIRCLE sound unmistakable, their trademarks are manifold and their hunger seems almost insatiable. What the duo has created in recent years is unparalleled and continues the legacy that the band created in the nineties with their classics “Drachenblut” (1998) and “Infernal Satanic Verses” (1999). MYSTIC CIRCLE themselves describe their style as melodic extreme metal, their very own mix of old-school death and black metal, traditional heavy metal of the eighties and horror soundtracks.

“More serious, more respectful and more authentic” is the definition of the tenth MYSTIC CIRCLE epic “Hexenbrand 1486” – a statement that certainly applies to the formation’s attitude. “It’s a journey through time in the Mystic Circle universe. The album is very varied and each song has its own dominance. We could release every track as a single and that says a lot about the strength of the longplayer,” emphasizes A. Blackwar.

About their new single, “Ghost Of Whitechapel”, frontman Beelzebub adds:
“The classic Jack the Ripper story from the monster’s point of view. We did a lot of research, from the alleged letters written by the original killer to the verses he is said to have spoken to himself. Inspired by the comic “From Hell’, which is a true masterpiece, we had to make the song.”

Listen to the song now streaming on: https://mysticcircle.rpm.link/ghostPR

“Hexenbrand 1486”, produced with Nils Lesser, is largely about the ‘Malleus Maleficarum’, the hammer of witches, which was written in Speyer/Germany in the year 1486. “We are lucky to live near well-known events and dark legends. Our Nibelungen cult “Drachenblut” comes from our region, as does the concept in the second part of the new record about Heinrich “Institoris” Kramer, the author of the Hexenhammer,” A. Blackwar explains.

“Heinrich Kramer embodies everything we hate about the holy institution of the church. He was a vile sadist who acted out his resentment towards women under the cloak of Christian scripture. The Hexenhammer is the work of a madman and should encourage everyone even more to leave the church and follow their own path of faith,” says Beelzebub.

The horror flair of the 80s already played a major role in the duo’s style on “Mystic Circle” and “Erzdämon”. On “Hexenbrand 1486” they consistently go one step further and add dark synth wave passages in appropriate places, with a comparable flair to legendary horror shockers and soundtracks by Dario Argento, who used synthesizers in his very own way.

In keeping with the theme of witches, three women are represented on “Hexenbrand 1486”: The two singers Sarah Jezebel Deva (ex-CRADLE OF FILTH, THE KOVENANT) and Karo Hafke (UMBRA ET IMAGO, GIANTS CAUSAWAY) as well as Natalie Ostermaier, the author and illustrator of the book “Kramer”, from which the accompanying comic is taken, that is integrated in the CD booklet and comes with the vinyl first edition as a 12-page A5 comic. “Sarah has once again taken on the classic part. This time it’s different with Karo. She carries the album with her voice and embodies the countless women who were burned and tortured because of sick fantasies back then. She gives the new album a special stamp. Natalie Ostermaier and her book “Kramer” came into play through the concept. She liked the idea of using an excerpt from her book for our album, and so what had to come together came together.”

Following the album release of “Hexenbrand 1486” on October 31, 2025, MYSTIC CIRCLE will increasingly focus on the announced live presence, which is scheduled to kick off in South America and Mexico in spring 2026. The band recently signed a booking deal with Flaming Arts (POSSESSED, BELPHEGOR, GOD DETHRONED and others). They are looking for support from guest musicians to complete the band live. “We’re going to do a lot, because we like the old stage shows of great masters like W.A.S.P, DIO or ALICE COOPER.”
