GRAVE HEX Unleash ‘Steeping Master Worm Flesh’ Single from Upcoming Debut Album

GRAVE HEX have premiered their new single “Steeping Master Worm Flesh” via Toilet Ov Hell, offering another grotesque glimpse into their upcoming debut album “Vermian Death”, out August 22nd, 2025 via Night Terrors Records (cassette) and Cavernous Records (CD).

Spewing forth from Finland’s death-sodden crypts, the track reeks of corrosion and malice, an oozing, maggot-ridden assault where festering riffs collide with punk-infused savagery.

With this latest slab of rot, GRAVE HEX further assert themselves among the filthiest torchbearers of putrid death metal, in the foul lineage of Autopsy, Undergang and Morbific.

Listen to “Steeping Master Worm Flesh” at THIS LOCATION.

Tracklist:

I. Steeping Master Worm Flesh (3:25)
II. Vultural Scourge (2:23)
III. Den Of Evil (4:13)
IV. Endless Impossible Constructs (5:13)
V. Vermian Death (3:59)
VI. Pungent Pulsating Pools Of Blood (2:33)
VII. Halls Beneath The Primal Mere (5:34)

GRAVE HEX was (de)formed in Helsinki in March 2024 by Matti (of hardcore band Vainoa), Miikka (Vainoa), and Martti (ex-Loka, ex-Radien), united by a shared vision of primal, worm-ridden death metal.

Songwriting took off like a spontaneous blaze, and the material for the debut release came together quickly – written and rehearsed in short order, then recorded over three sessions during the summer of 2024.

The result, “Vermian Death”, is a crushing torrent of metal, steeped in cavernous soundscapes and feral lyrical themes.

Recording and mixing were handled by the band’s own Matti Vainionpää, while mastering was completed by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios. The cover art is an original piece commissioned from Slimeweaver.

Shortly after completing the album, the band welcomed Hanna on bass and is now preparing to unleash their bestial death worship live in 2025.

Line-up:

H. – Bass
M. – Vocals, guitars
M. – Vocals, guitars
M. – Drums, vocals

FROM THE LAND (Feat. NYTT LAND Members) Announce Debut Album “Stolen Season pt. I”, First Single/Video ‘Psalm 2’ Out Now

From The Land, a new dark country/gothic rock project, has officially launched with their debut single, “Psalm 2”, available now across all platforms, accompanied by a music video. This release offers the first glimpse into the band’s forthcoming debut album, “Stolen Season pt. I“, slated for release on 21 November via 7 Mater, with distribution handled by The Circle Music.

Listen to the track: https://7Mater.lnk.to/Psalm2

From The Land is the brainchild of Anatoly Pakhalenko, frontman of the dark folk band Nytt Land. Conceived in 2025, the project serves as an alter ego for Pakhalenko’s creative exploration and experimentation within dark country and blues genres. The band’s aesthetic is described as a “black and white world tired of all this s**t that’s going on around and gradually sinking into an endless sleep.”

“Psalm 2” is based on the biblical text of the second psalm, with its content and lyrics aligning with the main guitar riff and melody. The track also features a Mongolian traditional flute, the “shoor”, as a nod to Pakhalenko’s work with Nytt Land.

The song “Psalm 2” was composed by Anatoly Pakhalenko and Aleksandr Rosliakov, with lyrics taken from the Bible. It was recorded at Nytt Land Studio between January and May 2025, with Anatoly Pakhalenko serving as recording and mixing engineer, and producer.

From The Land draws inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and David Lynch.

STILLBIRTH Announce New Album “Survival Protocol” + Reveal First Single Video ‘Baptized In Blood’

German brutal-surf-death-party metal band STILLBIRTH will unleash their forthcoming release “Survival Protocol” on October 31st via rising metal label Reigning Phoenix Music. The album is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed “Homo Deus,” which was released in 2023.

“Survival Protocol” is a concept album that tells the story of an unknown hero surviving a nuclear apocalypse. The narrative began on the album “Annihilation of Mankind” and now reaches its conclusion on “Survival Protocol.” It picks up where “Homo Deus” left off: the true creator descends from the skies, and the epic battle for planetary dominance begins. Humanity is nearly wiped out, with a handful of survivors managing to escape into space. After a long journey, they discover a habitable planet and begin to colonize it. The events of this journey are told across the tracks of “Survival Protocol.”

The album’s first single, ‘Baptized In Blood’ is a perfect introduction to what to expect on “Survival Protocol”as it’s the first time the band has been able to capture their live surf vibe on a studio recording. The lyrics depict an epic clash with titanic, godlike creatures inhabiting the new world. After surviving the apex predator, the humans now face another seemingly invincible foe. Their primitive weapons prove useless, but driven by past victories, they don’t back down. It’s David vs. Goliath on an alien planet.

About STILLBIRTH
STILLBIRTH is a slamming death metal force from Hagen, Germany, known for their chaotic live shows, unrelenting brutality, and wild blend of Death Metal, Grindcore, Deathcore, and Slam. Since 1999, the band has been obliterating venues and festivals worldwide with an extreme sound fueled by filthy grooves, blast beats, and a tongue-in-cheek attitude that’s equal parts destruction and party.

Founded by guitarist-turned-vocalist Lukas Swiaczny, STILLBIRTH quickly gained a cult following with their 2002 debut Happy Stillbirth Party. After a short hiatus from 2003 to 2005, the band came roaring back, contributing to international split releases and building a reputation across Europe. Their sophomore effort, Plakative Aggressionen (2009), led to their first Eastern European tour and set the tone for a relentless schedule of releases and performances.

By 2011, Endgame Is Near expanded their reach, earning them a spot on their first U.S. tour. STILLBIRTH’s 2015 album Global Error marked a high point, with back-to-back tours across the U.S. and Europe. Their signing to Unique Leader Records saw them level up again with Annihilation of Mankind (2018), landing major festival appearances and a tour through Asia.

In 2019, they revisited their roots with Back to the Stoned Age, re-recording fan favorites with updated production and guest vocals. The follow-up, Revive the Throne (2020), doubled down on brutality with dual basses, massive grooves, and razor-sharp production—setting a new bar for heaviness in their discography.

Tragedy struck in 2021 with the passing of bassist and engineer Dominik “Pumpa” Koenig. His legacy lives on in the band’s music and spirit. After signing to Distortion Music Group in 2022, STILLBIRTH dropped Homo Deus in 2023, toured Europe with KATAKLYSM and FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, and crushed stages at Summer Breeze, Party.San, and Tolminator.

Now, STILLBIRTH is poised to unleash their ninth full-length, Survival Protocol, on September 26, a dystopian concept album promising their most refined yet devastating sound to date.

STILLBIRTH is a party at the edge of the apocalypse. Total madness guaranteed!

STILLBIRTH is:
Lukas Swiaczny – Vocals
Martin Grupe – Drums
Lukas Kaminski – Bass
Leonard Thoma – Guitar
Szymon Skiba – Guitar

Kris Barras’ HOLLOW SOULS Release ‘Bad Things’ Single + Video, Feat. Chris Tapp from The Cold Stares

Kris Barras’ new UK blues-rock collective Hollow Souls release their third single “Bad Things,” this time joining forces with Chris Tapp, the driving force behind acclaimed band The Cold Stares. The single is available on all streaming platforms from Thursday July 31st.

“Having already released two belting singles featuring guest stars from across the pond, “Borderline” feat. guitarist Jared James Nichols and “Shotgun” feat. Jon ‘Marv’ Harvey from Monster Truck, Hollow Souls led by Kris Barras, continues their stellar collaborative winning streak with “Bad Things.”

Kentucky natives (but now based out of Indiana) The Cold Stares are a long-standing duo (recently turned trio) fronted by guitarist and vocalist Tapp. After both becoming leading lights in a new wave of blues-rock signed to Mascot Records’ Provogue imprint, Barras and Tapp started a friendship born of a mutual admiration over the past few years. Known for their fresh take on blues and southern rock styles, Tapp’s song-writing for The Cold Stares has seen them soundtrack famous video games and TV commercials.

Barras, with co-collaborator and long-standing bandmate Josiah J Manning, having already sketched the basic outline of the song, on this occasion knew that Tapp would be the perfect partner to co-write and record remotely from his home studio in Evansville IN. The result is a devilishly upbeat and subtly swampy earworm that interplays Tapp’s effortlessly cool verses with Hollow Souls’ lead vocalist Phoebe Jane’s punchy choruses.

Barras says, “I have admired Chris and the work of Cold Stares for a long while and I’ve sort of been waiting for the right track to work on together to drop out of my head. I knew instantly he would take this song up ten notches. He did, and I’m so grateful to have him involved.”

“When considering guests for this album, Chris Tapp from The Cold Stares was always high up on my list. We’ve been friends since meeting on the Joe Bonamassa ‘Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea’ cruise, and I’ve been a fan of his work for a good while.”

It’s important for me to have the guests bring their own flavour to the songs and put their own stamp on things. I sent Chris what Josiah and I had been working on, and he had free rein with the verses. We loved what he came back with and turned it into a duet with Hollow Souls’ main singer Phoebe Jane.”

Fresh from their first-ever live performance on the main stage at Maid of Stone Festival where the band performed a ‘secret set,’ Hollow Souls are pleased to announce Troy Redfern as their special guest on their 20-date Autumn UK tour. Troy, known for his explosive slide guitar and energetic performances, is hugely celebrated for the wall of sound he creates from a mere two-piece guitar and drum combo, which will perform on every Hollow Souls date of the upcoming tour. Tickets are available from The Gig Cartel.

Hollow Souls are also pleased to announce their eponymous debut EP Hollow Souls released on Friday October 10th.Featuring six tracks, including all three currently available singles, the EP will be released on 10” vinyl, CD and download. The EP isavailable to pre-order from https://shop.hollowsouls.co.uk.

ERIC GALES Joined by JOE BONAMASSA on New Single ‘Don’t Wanna Go Home’

Eric Gales releases his sizzling new single “Don’t Wanna Go Home” featuring Joe Bonamassa. You can watch the video HERE.

This is the latest single taken from his new album, a powerful and moving homage to his late brother Manuel Gales, ‘A Tribute To LJK‘. The album will be released digitally on 29 August and physically on 24 October via Provogue and features appearances by Buddy Guy, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Joe Bonamassa, Roosevelt Collier and Josh Smith.

There comes a time when every musician must look their past squarely in the eye. And while Gales’ latest release, Tribute To LJK, is a thrillingly modern record for the here and now, it’s also a nod to his bloodline and the roots of his family tree. “This record has been a long time coming,” he says of the speaker-rattling release co-produced by Bonamassa and Josh Smith. “I wanted it to be the ultimate tribute to my late brother, Little Jimmy King, to keep his memory alive and make sure people remember who he was and still is. All of these songs, except one, are his originals. I wanted to deliver his tunes to the world through my eyes. And I wanted it to be badass – and that’s exactly how it turned out.”

“Don’t Wanna Go Home” has an infectious, slinky groove with some fiery fretwork that whips it up into a swaggering song about taking your paycheque out on the town.  The song saw Joe Bonamassa break out of the control room for a stinger solo and is a homage to the Little Jimmy King song from his 1997 album Soldier For The Blues.

Talking about the song, Gales says, “That may be the most rocking song on the album. Me and Joe looked at each other and I told him, ‘Man, I think this is the one you should be on’. And he said, ‘Hey man, let’s do it. ‘ It’s just a clear depiction of a dude that don’t wanna go home with his paycheque. We broke out the rare Les Pauls – Joe took the solo in the middle, I took the ride-out, and we went for it. I think it turned out great.”

“Don’t Wanna Go Home” follows the first single from the album “Somebody” (feat. Buddy Guy and Roosevelt Collier). Gales joined Buddy Guy on his farewell tour in June. Talking about the song, he says, “It’s just a really dope song, man, and I thought it was a great way to end the record. Buddy Guy is a legend, and that idea was actually mentioned by my wife, LaDonna. She said, ‘I think you should see if Buddy is available. We don’t know how much time any of us has, so while you have the opportunity, you should give it a shot.’ So we went for it, and he said, ‘Yeah.’ He knew my brother, and they played together, so I think it was easy for him to agree to do this song – and the rest is history.”

The blues is an ecosystem, and it’s a measure of the respect commanded by both Eric and his fabled older brother, real name Manuel, who sadly passed away in 2002, that these ten explosive covers are delivered by an all-star cast with deep ties to the project.

To understand why Tribute To LJK might be the proudest moment of Gales’ meteoric career, you have to follow the thread back to the late 1970s and a hectic family home in Memphis, Tennessee. “I’m the youngest of five siblings, so I grew up with all my brothers, and everybody played guitar,” he recalls. “Manuel was ten years older, and it was great to have him to look up to. I was so proud when he started his own band and began his career; he was off to the races. And then, after all his years of grinding away at his craft, to hear that he was touring with Albert King’s band in the late-’80s was awesome.”

And while Manuel made his mark in the world – graduating from King’s lineup to front his own ’90s outfit, Little Jimmy King & the Memphis Soul Survivors – Eric and his sibling Eugene signed to Elektra Records for 1991’s debut album, The Eric Gales Band. “I had a deal at 15, and the record came out when I was 16,” he recalls. “Even at that age, I already felt this was what I was gonna do in life.”

If you weren’t already familiar with the jaw-dropping life’s work of Little Jimmy King, Eric Gales’ new album lays it all out there for the world to hear.  The album opens with a poignant spoken-word introduction by Danuel Gales (Manuel’s twin brother). Bridging past and present while igniting these masterful songs with his unmistakable delivery, A Tribute to LJK is even more than the sum of its parts – and while the music plays, Manuel Gales lives again. “I foresaw a great record,” considers Eric, “but I didn’t foresee it turning out as amazing as this. My brother is there throughout this whole record – and I can’t wait for it to start turning people’s heads…”
