GRAYSCALE SEASON Release New Single & Video ‘Yarusenai (Ghost)’

Gothenburg’s hidden gem Grayscale Season have released ‘Yarusenai (Ghost)’, the second single from their forthcoming album The Weight of Things We Cannot Touch, out on 20th November 2026.

Stream ‘Yarusenai (Ghost)’ here

Yarusenai is a Japanese word for the intense sadness, disappointment or anger you feel when you know exactly what is wrong and have no way at all to fix it. The new single ‘Yarusenai (Ghost)’ is the centre of the album and the source of its title:

“Close your eyes
And try to feel the weight of things you cannot touch
I know it hurts so much, the grief we try to clutch.”

It sits with the idea that feelings do not disappear, that they attach themselves to objects and places and get passed on, and its own answer is an instruction it cannot follow: “It’s done, let it go.” The clean intro came first, and the main riff is its vocal hook, tremolo picked. But there is more buried underneath this track than anywhere else on the record, including a piano and, somewhere in the background, a bird.

On the song, vocalist and bassist Adam Dahlman comments:
“Yarusenai is a Japanese word for the feeling of intense sadness, disappointment or anger when you know exactly what’s wrong and have no way at all to fix it. That’s the human experience, and it scares and intrigues me in equal measure. I hope there are ghosts. I hope there are feelings that remain, emotions that can be passed on.”

Pre-order The Weight of Things We Cannot Touch here

Grayscale Season have never sounded much like their hometown. Formed in Gothenburg in 2012 and independent throughout, the four-piece pair crushing low-tuned riffs with a fragile falsetto, because that is what it sounds like when someone performs strength while falling apart underneath it. They have toured the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and played Helltown Festival in 2024. Press comparisons have run to Loathe, Deftones, Humanity’s Last Breath and The Acacia Strain. The Weight of Things We Cannot Touch is their most direct record and their least resolved.

The album takes its name from a Japanese word. Yarusenai describes the sadness or anger you feel when you know exactly what is wrong and have no way at all to fix it, and Grayscale Season have built an entire record out of that condition. Across eleven tracks the narrator sees precisely what is wrong with him and stays in the wrong room anyway, conforms anyway, says the thing too late anyway. The album keeps looking for somewhere outside itself to put the grief, first in contempt for other people and then in the ground. Neither works. Only the closing track names something reachable, and what it grieves is not the loss of that thing but the years spent looking past it.

On the sound of the record, vocalist Eddie Lejhagen comments: “I don’t think we really had a specific reference for how the album would sound. Melancholy is probably what I wanted the album to have a lot of, and I think we managed to pull that off. As for the screamed vocals, Deafheaven is probably a major inspiration – the desperation in it, but melancholic at the same time.”

The Weight of Things We Cannot Touch was produced by George Lever (Loathe, Sleep Token), who worked with the band remotely while they recorded everything themselves, a first for them. The album was mixed by Buster Odeholm (Humanity’s Last Breath, Bring Me The Horizon) and mastered by Seth Munson (Teddy Swims), with additional top line production and piano by Aurora Karme Nord.

HAV NORN Celebrates Release of Second Album “Laniena Animarum” with Music Video for ‘Tears Flow Down To Endless Streams Of Sadness’

Finnish metal band Hav Norn released their second album ‘Laniena Animarum’ on September 18th 2026. Music video is also done for the first album track ‘Tears Flow Down To Endless Streams Of Sadness’.

LISTEN to the album on streaming services: https://push.fm/fl/hav-norn-laniena

The man behind Hav Norn, Sami Kokko comments:
“The new album is officially out now. It’s basically a collection of separate moments and atmospheres, a mix of older tracks that went through some massive overhauls, along with a couple of brand new ones. It’s definitely not a concept album, but the overall vibe and tone pretty accurately mirror how I feel about the world and where our shared future is heading right now.

The music video for the opening track nails the core of the album by highlighting the symbiosis between the beautiful, the ugly, and the things we strictly need just to survive. That contrast shows up pretty clearly across the visuals, the lyrics, and the music itself, where raw intensity meets delicate melody. In the video, misty forests, which mean so much to us humans and dark industrial spaces set the stage for a tug of war between grief and hope, surrounded by glowing red signals of the end times. How does it all turn out in the end?

I’ve got new music ready to go, too. Turns out the next release is gonna be something a bit different, but still wrapped up in that same kind of Hav Norn package.”

An absolute sense of freedom, a relentless drive for new melodies, and a push toward the extremes, this is where Hav Norn’s uncompromising metal takes root. While deeply anchored in the metal soil, the core idea is complete genre fluidity. The music is born without rigid boundaries, unforced, and entirely on its own terms.

The story of Hav Norn began in 2025 in Jyväskylä, Finland, when a seasoned musician returned to life after two decades of silence. Raised in the 1970s, his background in bands and sound engineering once led to total burnout, driving everything music-related out of his life for far too long. When the time finally felt right for a comeback, years of pent-up creativity burst open into an unstoppable flow of sound.

Hav Norn is a one-man vision and execution: songwriting, lyrics, arrangements, every single instrument, vocals, mixing, and mastering are all handled by one individual. Working this way grants total creative freedom with zero compromise. Ideas, stories, rhythms, and moods overflow, with any single element serving as the spark for a new track. The creative process is light and adventurous, anything can be tested, but nothing is forced.

Musically and lyrically, Hav Norn spans a vast spectrum. The themes range from love and beauty to the conflicts, destruction, and world weariness born from human stupidity. It isn’t a sermon, but a deeply personal need to channel out the friction of existence, offering listeners a space to feel something real and intense.

Creating new material at a rapid pace, Hav Norn released the eight-track debut album Halcyon in 2025. The July 2026 single “All Around The World” opens the door to the next chapter, proving that the endless hunt for melody, rhythm, and a strong message is running stronger than ever. And it doesn’t stop here.

Track list:
01. Tears Flow Down To Endless Streams Of Sadness
02. All The World Around
03. Hush Now Sleep
04. Ember
05. Tomorrow Is a Dream
06. Finalize Your Position

THE MATERIA are a four-piece band from Szczecinek, Poland, who have spent well over a decade consistently building their own identity within the Polish heavy music scene. JORDSJUK Celebrate One Year of “Naglet Til Livet” with Vinyl + CD Editions & Music Video for ‘Rottebitt’

On September 18, JORDSJUK celebrated one year since the release of their Spellemann award-winning debut album, aka the “Norwegian Grammy Award”, with new vinyl and CD editions, and a new music video for the song «Rottebitt».

Since the release of «Naglet til livet», Jordsjuk have established themselves as one of the most exciting new names on the Norwegian metal scene. The album was awarded with the prestigious Spellemannprisen, in the category of Hardrock & Metal, and the band have performed a large number of gigs across Norway, including festivals such as Tons of Rock, Midgardsblot and by:larm.

With Inferno, Karmøygeddon and Hellbotn already announced for 2027, Jordsjuk continue to build their presence at home, while also turning their attention outside of Norway, with concerts in Denmark and Sweden, autumn 2026.

The new music video for «Rottebitt» shows Jordsjuk right in their element, on stage. The video was shot by Jordsjuk’s photographer Jørn Veberg, during the band’s album concert at Blå in Oslo, March 2026, and captures the energy and intensity that is a central part of Jordsjuk’s expression.

September 18 also saw «Naglet til livet» being reissued in new vinyl and CD editions, in addition to the band’s first release, the «Råtner på rot» EP (2024), being released on vinyl for the first time.

With a Spellemann Award-winning debut album under their belt, increasingly larger bookings, and an international audience in sight, Jordsjuk are well on their way to becoming one of the next larger Norwegian names on the metal scene.

And the band is already looking ahead, with a new album in the works, planned for release autumn 2027.

ABOUT
Jordsjuk has in a short time made a big impression on the Norwegian metal scene.
The debut album ‘Naglet til livet’, released September 2025, has been described as one of the best Norwegian debut albums in metal this decade, and in Jernverket’s selection of 2025’s best releases, Jordsjuk snatched 2nd place, out of 447 albums from Norway and abroad. In March 2026 the crowning achievement came when the band was awarded the prestigious Spellemannprisen, aka “The Norwegian Grammy”, in Hardrock & Metal.

Comprised of hardened musicians from the Norwegian underground, fronted by Mannevond on vocals, and songwriter Renton on drums, with Sagstad and Larsen on strings, Oslo’s Jordsjuk serves up a hellish blend of black metal, thrash, death, punk and rock. Riff-driven, catchy and straight-in-your-face, with lyrics steeped in desperation, destruction and decay – all brought forth in Norwegian.

The band already has numerous gigs to their name, with an appearance at Tons of Rock 2026, Norway’s largest festival, as one of the highlights, and it’s on stage their sonic violence truly comes to its right. For those who have seen them before, expectations are high.

For everyone else: prepare to be run over!

Jordsjuk are:
Renton – drums
Mannevond – vocals
Sagstad – guitars
Larsen – bass

BLACKMENT Release Second Album “Pandemonium Portrait” with Music Video for ‘Ground Zero’

Finnish Blackment released their debut album Plains of Oblivion in 2022. The excitement, momentum, and pressure surrounding the new album were intense after the debut, and fans had to wait four years for the Pandemonium Portrait album, which is finally out today. Originally planned for the spring, the release was also pushed back to the fall for entirely self-serving reasons—after all, you have to live with the album for the rest of your life.

“From the very beginning of the project, it felt like this album was going to be a really significant step forward for Blackment. The songs and sounds on this second album have been polished with great care, and I’m really happy with what we’ve accomplished together. Some aspects of the songs have become more straightforward compared to the vibe of the first album, but at the same time, some of the tracks on the album are quite complex and massive,” says the keyboardist Sebastian Nyandoto.

03. Ghost in the Machine – FI3FC2374902

08. Pulsar – FI3FC2655707
09. Pariah – FI3FC2374901
10. Freedom Fall – FI3FC2474903

12. World of Gods (feat. Hille Sadehelmi) – FI3FC2655709
13. In The Dark (Bonus track) – FI3FC2655710

Looking back, there were also some rather bizarre moments during the recording sessions; the best of these was when the stairs leading to Harri Petjakko’s Studio UG—which the band had used for the recordings—were unexpectedly dismantled as part of a renovation.

“For my last recording sessions at Studio UG, we actually had to carry my full-size digital piano into the studio along some icy scaffoldings. Anyway, it’s amazing that ‘Pandemonium Portrait’ is finally finished!” Sebastian continues.

Vocalist Sami Vuorenheimo explains that, in the end, they had to take a break specifically to refine the final picture of the whole from different perspectives. The time spent polishing the result was definitely worth it.

“Eventually, along the way, things slowly began to come into focus, and the pieces just fell into place beautifully. We also included some fanservice for older fans on the album, which has been given a fresh new twist,” Vuorenheimo says of a fun detail to be found on the album.

The album’s standout track, “Ground Zero,” traces its roots back ten years, when the band’s former keyboardist, Riku Mälkiä, was working on the synth riffs for the song.

“Well, it took a while to come up with a good melody, and we even had a change in keyboardists along the way. But the song turned out to be quite a hit, so better late than never,” guitarist Saalas Ruokangas smiles.

A music video for the song was filmed and edited by Petri Sara, and it takes us right to the heart of metal video history.

“Our vision was to create every band’s milestone: a music video shot in the gravel pits. Luckily, I remembered a suitable spot with good transportation access, where we could easily haul our gear. The owner gave us the go-ahead, and we were able to go wild with it. Petri Sara came by to make sure the video didn’t turn out like crap, and the rest is history,” says Sami Vuorenheimo.

Sami Vuorenheimo – vocals
Saalas Ruokangas – guitar & backing vocals
Allan Välimaa – guitar
Väinö Huhtanen – bass & backing vocals
Sebastian Nyandoto – keyboards & backing vocals

THE DOGS Release Long-Awaited New Album “Trauma Junkie”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on September 20, 2026
Posted in: Int. News, News. Tagged: THE DOGS. Leave a comment
Photo: Agnete Brun

Album number 13 from these lovable Oslo gentlemen will, after much deliberation, finally hit the shelves the week after the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The Dogs would have preferred to release it on the anniversary itself, but everyone here at Indie thought that was a bad idea, so…

Listen to the album here: https://ffm.to/traumajunkie

Frontman Kristopher sums up the album as follows:
“A little more piss at the front of the boxers than on the previous record. And considerably yellower. The kind you need Vanish to get rid of.”

Unfortunately, that was all we managed to get out of him. However, Schau insisted that we include the following note, which we know several of you have received before:
None of this is for publication. This is a personal message from me to whoever happens to be reading this.

Okay, let’s make this as simple and painless as possible for everyone involved. If you work for a music magazine of any kind, or on a radio show where the focus is music, then the answer is “yes, I think it’s fucking great that you want to do a feature on our new record.” Alternatively, “Of course I’ll come on your radio show.” Just send me an email directly and we’ll find a time.

My email address is: kristopher.schau@gmail.com.

A couple of things, though. The question “Tell me a little about The Dogs” signals to everyone, including the reader, that you’re clearly feeling a little lazy. That’s perfectly fine. I’m lazy myself, but then we’re basically agreeing to stay lazy all the way through. Including the answers. You can find out who The Dogs are on the internet, so I’ll just copy something from Wikipedia and email it back to you. Then we’ve both put in the same amount of effort.

“Tell me a little about your new record.” Same thing. Lazy, and you know it deep down. This isn’t meant as criticism. It’s just such a painfully boring question for you, me and the poor readers. We as a band obviously want this to be read too, and when the question is dull, the answer becomes dull and everyone loses. We believe in you! Remember what it was like when you first started in the industry. When you were excited about going to work and took pride in the work you put in. Try to be specific. There’s enough small talk out there as it is.

The classic “What can we expect from you live?” is probably something we can retire as well, right? The answer is simply “loud music”, so I think we should put that one out to pasture immediately.

Again, this isn’t meant as criticism. That’s why we’re doing this here. Together. BEFORE the damage has been done. A win-win for everyone involved.

P.S.

We’re also either recording the interview or doing it over email, right? Those situations where you try to recreate what the conversation was like from memory… hoho, those have been sad times for everyone involved. Phew, glad we’re done with that!

P.P.S.

Remember that you’re the one making money from this. Not us. We’re doing this as a hobby. You’re doing it as a job. Make it a good one. We believe in you!

As stated, this has been a confidential employee meeting between you and me, so once again; none of this is for publication. We’re only doing this to help.

Best,
Kristopher Schau

ABOUT
The Dogs are the Oslo-based band where only one member is actually from Oslo.

A punk rock band that believes they play soul and garage rock. In short, a band that has no idea who they are or what they’re doing. This confusion has however resulted in a total of 12 albums, countless Norwegian tours, unusual one-off events such as opening for Bruce Springsteen, and musical contributions to the new Harry Hole series on Netflix. In other words, they are well prepared for the Alzheimer’s they all have coming.

Confusingly enough, all signs are still pointing upward for the “Oslo band” in the autumn of their lives.

THE DOGS:
Vocals – Kristopher Schau
Guitar – Mads Martinsen
Bass – Tommy Reite
Drums – Henrik Odde Gustavsen
Percussion – Kenneth Simonsen
Keys –  Stefan Höglin
