Finnish melodic death metal band Bloody Moon is set to release their second studio album ‘Lost & Damned’ on October 31st 2025 via Inverse Records. The first single ‘My Payoff’ is unleashed today with music video which can be seen below.

“My Payoff” came together almost effortlessly—the original demo recording is hardly any different from the final version. The song is about being abandoned, but also about proving that even from the deepest lows, you can rise again.

Drummer Toivo Aitakari shares:
“I remember the writing process being very straightforward—everything just fell into place naturally. We did have to put some work into the synth sound in the pre-chorus during demoing, but we made sure to get it right, and that exact sound ended up on the album. This one has become a personal live favorite; it’s always fun to play fast-paced skank beat and belt out the chorus loud and high.”

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS Reveal Lyric Video for Monumental Album Closer ‘No Less Than Death’

American black metal band ABIGAIL WILLIAMS reveals a new single: the closing track of its long-awaited new studio album, “A Void Within Existence”, set for release on July 18th via Agonia Records. The monumental piece titled “No Less Than Death” clocks in at a little over 9 minutes, and is accompanied by a video featuring the song’s lyrics. Watch it, here:

The follow-up to 2019’s critically acclaimed “Walk Beyond the Dark” marks a new chapter in the band’s relentless evolution; an album that not only expands upon the atmospheric darkness and melodic brutality of its predecessor, but pushes further into extremes, both sonically and emotionally.

Produced by frontman Ken Sorceron and mixed by renowned engineer Dave Otero (Aborted,Akhlys), “A Void Within Existence” is a scorched offering of black metal transcendence: harrowing, cinematic, and utterly uncompromising. Drums are performed by the virtuosic Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Ghost Bath), whose work here blurs the line between precision and chaos.

Lyrically, the album dives deep into existential themes of loss, disintegration, and unreality. Tracks like “Still Nights” and “No Less Than Death” reflect on identity through surreal and fragmented images – distant lights, poisoned memories, dreams where “there is no pain.” Elsewhere, songs like “Embrace The Chasm” and “Life, Disconnected” summon visions of cosmic dread and personal oblivion, confronting the listener with raw emotion and esoteric vision.

The record is accompanied by striking cover art from Eliran Kantor (Testament, Bloodbath), whose visual interpretation mirrors the inner desolation and mythic scope of the music.

“This record was born in the quiet hours, when everything felt hollow,” Sorceron reflects. “«A Void Within Existence» isn’t just a title – it’s a feeling I couldn’t shake while writing. There’s a loneliness threaded through these songs that came from somewhere deeper than I expected. The world outside was falling apart, and in a way, so was the one inside. I wanted to push beyond the limits we explored on «Walk Beyond the Dark». Sonically, emotionally, spiritually – nothing was off-limits. I produced the album to stay close to that vision, and with Dave Otero on the mix and Mike Heller behind the kit, everything came to life exactly how I heard it in my head: raw, vast, and crushing. This is a record about absence. About peeling away what isn’t real – examining the void left behind. If there’s anything left after that – maybe it’s the truth. Maybe it’s just the void. Either way, this is the most honest I’ve ever been. «A Void Within Existence» is more than an album. It’s a crucible – a journey through the fire where only shadow and silence remain.”

Surpassing its 20th year of existence (having been formed in 2004), ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has upgraded its formula to a quartet, comprising Ken Sorceron (ex-Aborted, ex-The Faceless, Vale Of Pnath, Nachtmystium) on vocals and guitars, Vance Valenzuela (Vale Of Pnath) on guitars, John Porada (ex-Nachtmystium, ex-Wolvhammer) on bass and Mike Heller (Fear Factory, Malignancy) on drums. With Sorceron retaining his leading role, the band expands on its unique and intensive sound, forged throughout five studio albums, and anchored in black metal with shades of death metal & symphonic metal.

Tracklisting:
1. Life, Disconnected
2. Void Within
3. Nonexistence
4. Still Nights
5. Talk To Your Sleep
6. Embrace The Chasm
7. No Less Than Death

Line-up:
Ken Sorceron – vocals, guitars
Vance Valenzuela – guitars
John Porada – bass
Mike Heller – drums

Costa Rican MORTUAL Premiere “Altar of Brutality” Debut LP Ahead of Release

The debut album from Costa Rican death metal force MORTUAL, “Altar of Brutality”, is now available for full streaming.

Set for official release on July 4th, 2025 via Nuclear Winter Records (LP, CD, MC), the album stands as a formidable slab of death metal rooted in ferocity and unwavering conviction.

“Altar of Brutality” captures MORTUAL at their most focused and punishing, delivering tightly constructed compositions that balance precision and chaos without ever sacrificing intensity.

The band’s sound is steeped in tradition, yet executed with a clarity and urgency that feels anything but retro: this is death metal forged with purpose, discipline, and contempt. A debut that sounds less like a first step and more like a statement carved in stone.

Stream “Altar of Brutality” at THIS LOCATION.

Tracklist:

01. Mortuary Rites
02. Necromancy Ritual
03. Divine Monstrosity
04. Dominion of Eternal Blasphemy
05. Fiendish Visions
06. Skeletal Vortex
07. Altar of Brutality
08. Ecstasy of Death

Mixed and mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studio.

Spawned in the black rain and pestilent winds of San José, “Altar of Brutality” is a declaration of total spiritual negation: eight impure hymns steeped in decay, fanatic violence and the iconoclastic hunger to desecrate all that is sacred. Carrying forward the cursed legacy of their previous EP “Evil Incarnation”, MORTUAL now reach deeper into the void, channeling a darker, more oppressive sound, dripping with heretical intent and sharpened through years of relentless underground devotion.

This is not a reinvention, but a declaration, a brutal affirmation of death metal’s primal force. With “Altar of Brutality”, MORTUAL summon a vision of spiritual ruin and corporeal decay, wrapped in chains of riffs, blasts and unwavering intensity.

For fans of: Deicide, Mortem, Sadistic Intent, early Monstrosity

Line-up:

Juan Salas – Guitar, Vocals
Justin Sánchez – Guitar, Vocals
Chalo – Drums

Italian melodic death metal act Dying Awkward Angel unveil their latest single “9.99” taken from their upcoming album “The Missing Frame” out next August 22nd, 2025, via Rockshots Records.

“9.99” is a fierce and unrelenting track that dives headfirst into the moral abyss of modern society, posing a disturbing question: how much is a human life worth? Combining razor-sharp riffing and ominous atmospheres with a crushing groove, the song channels the relentless energy of classic Swedish death metal while delivering a powerful commentary on the commodification of violence.

LISTEN “9.99”: Digital (Spotify) – http://lnk.to/LhWHOn

Influenced by genre-defining acts such as At The Gates, Carcass, and Dark Tranquillity, Dying Awkward Angel blends their old-school roots with a modern sensibility, crafting songs that are both brutal and deeply reflective. “9.99” adds another layer of depth to the band’s already diverse sonic arsenal, reinforcing their ability to balance aggression and melody with lyrical substance. Lyrically written by Davide Onida, the track explores themes of nihilism, despair, and systemic dehumanization in a world where life can be extinguished for the cost of the cheapest gun.

Following the acclaimed singles “The Magical World of the Dead” and “Music Kills”, “9.99” offers a third glimpse into “The Missing Frame“, an album that marks the band’s return with renewed ferocity and sharpened intent.

Recorded at Bottleneck Studios in Torino, mixed and mastered by Davide Onida and featuring cover art by Fabrizio Durigon and Federica Dall’Omo “Arièlika”, the new material captures the band’s vision in its most intense form to date.

NOUMENIA Celebrate Release of New “Echoes” Album with ‘Black Ocean’ Music Video

Noumenia are a post-groove metal band from Northern Italy, who have crafted an soul-striking explosive sound that hits you square in the face, the mind, and the soul! Fronted by their powerfully-charismatic vocalist Vivian Black, the band just premiered another new music video, entitled “Black Ocean” which was directed by Steve Saints (Genus Ordinis Dei). “Fall Apart” is the third music video from their new full-length album Echoes which was released on June 27, 2025 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced by Richard Meiz (Lacuna Coil, Genus Ordinis Dei), and mixed & mastered by Daniele Salomone (Lacuna Coil, Inverno, D With Us) at DDStudio Records.

Watch “Black Ocean” music video:

“Black Ocean” is a beautiful nightmare with a futuristic groove drowning and pounding like thunderheads caught in a flood in a canyon. Here, the multi-layered growl vocal is emblematically effective, as the higher pitch is our fear and folly and the lower ones, our darkness and malice. “With the video for Black Ocean we plunge into the abyss of our unconscious… into our shadow part, into a black-out of mental and emotional collapse.” Says vocalist Vivian Black. “The song speaks of the innermost desire to know that there can be someone to shake your hand to pull you out of this abyss, out of this black ocean. We chose scenes for the video that could represent this mood in a dreamlike way. Same goes for the choice to make the video in black and white. As for the lights we wanted to give the feeling of lightning, of the storm inside us.”

Echoes is the title of the exciting post groove modern metal album by Noumenia, featuring rhythmic virtuosity, ripsaw growl vocals, heavy drumming, and a gargantuan guitar sound that literally reinvents the power of the power chord. The pound and burn on this record are massive, the changes invigorating, the hooks mesmerizing, the philosophical lyrics all too close to the heart, the bottom-side where we stockpile secrets and darkness. Often, the songs on this record kick off with bizarre futuristic introductions constructed of suspense and trepidation, like movie soundtracks made for aliens, dangerous AI, and cyborgs gone mad, yet following these mystic “orchestral” and “celestial” preludes, Noumenia hit us with drop after drop that rock so hard we are stunned. Musically, this record makes for a striking hybrid, explosive and smooth, hard diamond with a soft shine, a thick dose of dangerous velvet. Holistically, it seems that the band has a mission here to invigorate, exfoliate, and buzzsaw the brain so the new world looks real and raw. Echoes features cover art designed by Samuele Zichi, and it was released on June 27, 2025.
