Evermore has released “Ravens At The Gates”, second single taken from the new album “Mournbraid” to be released on March 20 by Scarlet Records.

“Ravens At The Gates” is both a song that touches on historical problems in human society as well as a call-to-arms kind of rallying cry for those who choose to stand defiant against the injustice. The song opposes ideals or it may address the result of fearing your fellow man because they are different. In the end, the song may convey either a burning desire for defiance and change or a feeling of unity and uprising.

“Mournbraid”:

  • produced by Marcus Alfsson at MWC Studios and mastered by Svante at Chartmakers West;
  • illustrated by Alvaro Valverde/AV Art Ilustracion (Elvenking, Unanimated, Verikalpa);

PRE-ORDER/PRE-SAVE

“Mournbraid” tracklist:

1 The Void

artowrk by Alvaro Valverde/AV Art Ilustracion

The third record for the Swedish masters of power metal, “Mournbraid” delivers the trademark Evermore sound made of aggressive guitar riffs, soaring epic vocals and unforgettable strong hooks – all amplified by a massive neat production.

Master of ardour and melody perfectly blended together, the Scandinavian trio further refined its pretty unique songwriting and lyrical touch. Each song of the album tells a different story from the perspective of individuals experiencing the diversity of existence’s challenges and feelings of personal struggles.

As always in Evermore’s music, the end goal is to make the listener relate to the music on a very deep personal level.

Evermore are:
Johan Haraldsson – vocals
Johan Karlsson – guitar, bass, piano, orchestrations
Andreas Viklands – drums

Produced to perfection by longtime collaborator Eric Ratz, the trio’s new studio offering Leo Rising is a masterclass in sweat-soaked, no-nonsense rock. Packed with razor-sharp riffs, thunderous rhythms, and infectious hooks, the album reaffirms that DANKO JONES are keeping rock alive by doing it better than anyone else.

John Calabrese laid down bass tracks from Finland, Rich Knox flew to Toronto to record drums, and Danko worked with producer Eric Ratz in the same city to capture vocals and guitars. Despite recording separately once again, the band’s chemistry is unmistakable. The result is pure DANKO JONES: tight, loud, and built for the stage.

About DANKO JONES

Every time someone announces the death of rock ‘n’ roll, Canada’s most incendiary power trio roll with the punches and keep rocking with maximum commitment to the cause. DANKO JONES are a three-piece rock ‘n’ roll band from Toronto. They never sleep. They sweat blood. And they are keeping rock alive by doing it better than anyone else.

On duty since 1996, these unstoppable road-hogs have devoted their lives to rousing the people with blistering, no-bullshit, all-action rock. They have rallied a global army of rock-hungry fans, and blown them away with a steady stream of explosive, anthem-packed albums and an absurd number of live shows. From early underground smashes like “We Sweat Blood” [2003] and “Sleep Is The Enemy” [2006], to the band’s recent, triumphant triumvirate of “A Rock Supreme” [2019], “Power Trio” [2021] and “Electric Sounds” [2023], DANKO JONES have been a relentless force for rock ‘n’ roll good, both in the studio and on the road. And they have absolutely no intention of stopping.

“You know what? I like the routine of recording, touring, writing, and repeat,” states singer/guitarist, Danko Jones himself. “I can do that till I’m dead! It may sound boring, but it’s so hard for a band to achieve. I don’t take this lightly. Also, it’s a page out of the MOTÖRHEAD handbook so it works! Since “Electric Sounds” we’ve been touring and touring. We managed to play in Mexico and Greece for the first time, and we even played Prince Edward Island, a province in Canada we’d never been to before. Other than that, it’s been a life of gigs and writing more songs to play more gigs!”

Proving that their time was well-spent, Danko, bassist John Calabrese and drummer Rich Knox have conjured yet another blazing banquet of nourishing rock goodness on their 12th studio record Leo Rising, that is out now on PERCEPTION.

Award-winning Finnish guitarist and blues artist extraordinaire Erja Lyytinen is pleased to announce her 50th Anniversary Rock Blues Birthday UK Tour in October 2026.

Tickets are available at https://erjalyytinen.com/tour.

Lyytinen will celebrate her 50th Birthday by embarking on a special tour around the UK and Europe with a special celebratory setlist that will feature gems from Lyytinen’s vast repertoire since 2002. The guitar phenom will also perform songs from the latest studio album, Smell the Roses, along with some unexpected song choices.

See the full gig list at https://erjalyytinen.com/tour.

The seven-date UK tour takes in Dudley, Lamp Tavern (Thursday October 8), Sedgefield, Parish Hall (Friday October 9), Edinburgh, La Belle Angele (Sunday October 11), Sheffield, The Greystones (Tuesday October 13), Oxford, The Bullingdon (Wednesday October 14), London, Half Moon (Thursday October 15), and Faversham, The Old Brewery Store (Friday October 16).

“I did my first tour in the UK with Blues Caravan back in 2006, so it´s been exactly twenty years now doing gigs on this music lover’s island,” reminisces Lyytinen. “I remember how exciting it was for a young girl to finally do my first UK tour back then. What I loved the most, was the fact that as native English spoken people, the audiences understood and related to my lyrics. The witty humor and friendly British people simply stole my heart.”

“This year I’m celebrating the big number of turning 50, but I still feel as that 15-year-old girl who fell in love to play electric guitar by listening to guitarists like Tony Iommi and Richie Blackmore and wanting to travel around the world to play for audiences. This year we have updated our set list with some old gems and surprise numbers, so it´s going to be a lot of fun to come to the UK for a birthday tour!”

Folk Horror Film Centered Around Ritual Ambient Music: “Haunters of the Silence”

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 24, 2026

Haunters of the Silence, a 71-minute experimental folk horror film built around dark ambient and ritual folk soundscapes, has been released.

This micro-budget feature rejects traditional horror film structure in favor of a slow, suffocating atmosphere. It abandons dialogue almost entirely, relying on its ritualistic ambient soundtrack. Constructed from the crew’s experiences with sleep paralysis, the film unfolds like an extended dark ambient composition, where layers of drone, distortion, and acoustic folk instrumentation shape the psychological dreamscape.

Pre-order and streaming options can be found through this link: https://linktr.ee/hauntersofthesilence

The film includes musical contributions from John Haughm, frontman of the black metal metal band Agalloch, whose signature droning guitar work helped shape the film’s introspective atmosphere. Some other artists who contributed to the film’s score include the experimental ambient project Ravnblod, nordic folk band Ubbe & Visbur and lovecraftian dark ambient artist Enter Cthulhu.

The film was written and directed by Tatu Heikkinen and Veleda Thorsson-Heikkinen, with the latter also responsible for the film’s cinematography. Veleda is previously known for her work with metal band photography.

Haunters of the Silence premiered at Serbest International Film Festival in September of 2025, and won the award for “Best Experimental Film” at Paris Film Awards in October of the same year. DVD + CD is available for pre-order through Savo-Karelian Productions. The film is also streaming on Tubi and Fawesome.
