VARG gather their followers around them and call for a joint ritual: on May 22, 2026, the pagan metal band will share the recording of a special evening with their first live album, Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024. Recorded at the group’s very own festival, it contains thrilling live versions of 16 tracks. Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024 invites you to be part of the home match both as an audio and a video recording in Blu-ray format. Filmed with 13 cameras, this live experience unfolds particularly well-rounded, from instrument details to the enthusiastic crowd.

Along with the announcement of the epic recording, VARG release their first single. “Immer Treu” was originally released on their most recent studio album, Ewige Wacht (2023), which secured the band their biggest chart success to date. With this song, VARG show their closeness to their fans and cement their connection to the scene—after all, the band has been at the forefront of German pagan metal for years. The new version of “Immer Treu” shows VARG at the peak of their creative powers, with clear production, a rousing show, and an unbroken spirit.

VARG on “Immer Treu”:
“‘Immer Treu’ is more than a song—it’s an oath between us and our fans. When hundreds of voices sing the lines back to you in a live setting, it creates a moment that gets under one’s skin. That’s exactly the power that we wanted to convey with our first single off of this album.”

Supported by their home environment, VARG keep the flame alive and cement their leading position in the German pagan scene with Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024. A unique demonstration of power by a band at the peak of their creative powers—at least until VARG call for the next Wolfszeit coming in August…

VARG on Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024:
“With Live at Wolfszeit Festival 2024, we are immortalizing one of the most intense moments in our band’s history. Fire, thunderous choirs, and pure emotions merge into an atmosphere that sweeps everything away. This album is the gateway to the innermost circle of the wolf pack—and the answer to a question we always ask together: Are you with us? We are with you!”

On their new album, VARG conduct a campaign through their discography. It begins with “Aufzug der Heere” and “Schildfront”, which were first released in 2008 on the split EP Schildfront with Minas Morgul, and leads to “Ewige Wacht”, the title track of their latest album which was released in 2023 and is their biggest chart success to date. The visually stunning atmosphere of the evening flares up in a fiery production, impressively directed by frontman Freki. Light installations pierce the darkness and amplify the ritualistic power of the show. VARG remain “Immer Treu” (engl: Always Faithful; Ewige Wacht, 2023) to their fans, who respond with enthusiastic cheers—the band’s energetic songs and devoted performance make this particularly rousing. The crystal-clear production of the live spectacle is also reflected in “Morgenrot” on which Freki’s growls and singer Fylgja harmonize particularly beautifully—the latter is also honored with the rare live gem “Fylgja” (both also Ewige Wacht, 2023). “Blutaar”, the title track of the German band’s second album released in 2010, on the other hand, strikes a harder tone, bathed in deep red light. After the ominous thematic classification, the frontman screams his head off in his usual brutal manner, fueled by drums and cheers, and spreads his wings in a similarly intimidating manner as in the Viking custom he sings about—albeit less bloody. Furthermore, the fans join VARG for “Schwertzeit” (engl. Sword Time) and “Jagd” (engl. Hunt), and declare: “Wir sind die Wölfe” (engl. We Are The Wolves) (all Wolfskult, 2011).

EDDIE VANTEZ Releases Brand New Single + Official Music Video ‘Done Loving You’

Lion’s Pride Music proudly announces the release of “Done Loving You,” the brand new single and official music video from Melodic Rock artist Eddie Vantez. The track premieres this Friday and serves as the first single taken from his forthcoming album, “Night Fighter (The Lost 80’s Soundtrack),” scheduled for worldwide release on September 28th, 2026.

Following the critical success of his 2022 debut “Rough Diamond,” Eddie Vantez returns to the Danish label Lion’s Pride Music with a powerful and cinematic new chapter.

“Done Loving You” delivers a masterclass in modern A.O.R., blending nostalgic 80s-inspired synth textures with the high-energy pulse of arena rock. The track feels like a long-lost anthem from a classic 80s film soundtrack — soaring, emotional, and unapologetically melodic.

To capture the authentic sound and spirit of the era, Vantez assembled a strong lineup:

Eddie Vantez – Lead & Backing Vocals, Keyboards & Drum Programming
Ignacio Ruiz (Loud Solution) – Guitars
JC Alfaro (Hunter) – Bass
Sylvie Canelo – Backing Vocals

The result is a track driven by powerful vocal hooks, dynamic guitar work, rock solid bass foundations, and rich harmonic layering.

Music & Lyrics by Eddie Vantez.

The forthcoming album, “Night Fighter (The Lost 80’s Soundtrack),” marks a bold step forward for Eddie Vantez. While “Rough Diamond” introduced his talent to the Melodic Rock scene, this new project expands into a conceptual journey inspired by the grit, romance, and optimism of 80s cinema.

Eddie Vantez comments on the renewed partnership:

“Returning to Lion’s Pride Music feels like coming home. They believed in the vision of ‘Rough Diamond’ in 2022, and they are the perfect partners to help me bring the cinematic world of ‘Night Fighter’ to life.

‘DONE LOVING YOU’ is just the first chapter of a much larger story that we’ve been building for the last couple of years.”

Finnish Death metal band Hautajaisyö are set to release their fifth album ‘Surun paino’ on March 20th 2026 via Inverse Records. The second single ‘Kuusi Kantajaa’ is unleashed today and music video can be seen below.

The music video differs from the official single in that it features guest appearances by the Jumalaudat choir and cameos from Finnish metal bands: Surujuhla, Messiah Paratroops, Defiled Serenity, Kituma, Vahinkolapsi, and Chordae Exitium.

Janne Partanen comments the single:

” ‘Kuusi Kantajaa’ has been a hit with audiences from the moment it was first performed live. As the audience shouts along with the choir, the song is taken to a new level. This song has a similar feel to our older hit, ‘Revin Ihoni Rikki’, but only time will tell if it will be as popular.”

MALAURIU Premiere New Single ‘Satanic Witch’ from Upcoming Third Album

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 24, 2026

Decibel Magazine is hosting the exclusive premiere of “Satanic Witch”, a thunderous new single from Italian black metal act MALAURIU‘s impending third full-length album, “The Third Nail”, due out April 3rd, 2026 through Adirondack Black Mass.

Stream “Satanic Witch” at THIS LOCATION.

The record represents a bold evolution for the band, merging the raw intensity of black metal with a punk-infused aggression, while showcasing meticulous attention to detail in a warm, organic production that brings out the full depth of the compositions.

Recorded between Italy and the UK from 2024 to 2025, “The Third Nail” is the result of over a decade of dedication to the rawest and most primitive essence of black metal. The album features eight original tracks alongside a ferocious cover of GG Allin, which further highlights the band’s punk attitude and includes guest appearances by Dr. Heathen Scum (Mentors, USA) and Diego Do’Urden (Mystifier).

The album’s artwork draws on Sicilian traditions where the sacred and the profane collide, from blood-stained processions to brutal reenactments of the Crucifixion, creating a ritualistic atmosphere where faith is intertwined with horror, gore, and the occult.

Mixing was handled by Carlo Altobelli at Toxic Basement Studio (Italy), a recognized figure in extreme underground production, while mastering was completed at Necromorbus Studio (Sweden), famed for work with acts like Mayhem, Watain, Funeral Mist, and Shining.

Now based in London, UK, with a solid live lineup, MALAURIU will bring “The Third Nail” to stages across Europe in 2026, delivering a live experience that amplifies the album’s dark intensity and ritualistic energy.

Tracklist:

1 Rising From The Cemetery
2 Empowerment Rites
3 Death Celebration
4 Hell Mouth
5 Satanic Witch
6 The Curse of All Flesh
7 Purple Ceremony
8 Monotheistic Filth
9 Abuse Myself, I Wanna Die (GG Allin cover)

Founded in 2013 by Schizoid, MALAURIU emerged from Sicily as a project deeply rooted in folklore, mysticism, and the occult. Over the years, the band evolved from a pure black metal project into a constantly shifting entity, exploring dark ambient, ritual, noise, and punk, while maintaining a consistent spiritual intensity.

Sicily’s dark, evocative landscapes – ancient temples, legends of monsters, and sites connected to Aleister Crowley’s Abbey of Thelema – have profoundly influenced the band’s vision. With over 20 releases in the past decade, MALAURIU has steadily built a reputation for uncompromising music, blending extreme aggression with atmospheric depth, offering listeners a journey into the darker corners of the mind and soul.

Line-up:
Schizoid – Guitars
R.M. – Vocals

Session musicians:
Black Doom – Bass

THE MUGSHOTS Present First Single ‘The Nameless’, (Ft. Andy LaRocque, Sakis Tolis & Jim Mutilator) from Upcoming Album

The time has come to open the doors to “Gloomy, Eerie And Weird”, the new album from THE MUGSHOTS, which promises to be one of the most eclectic and visionary releases on the international scene. They start with the Dark Horror Rock blended with Gothic, Post-Punk, and Heavy Metal of “The Nameless”, featuring the precious collaboration of Andy LaRocque, Sakis Tolis and Jim Mutilator.

The spectacular video, created and edited by Cristiano Mondini for TRK studio, is available on YouTube:

The album “Gloomy, Eerie, and Weird” will be released on April 17, 2026, and can be ordered now on LP, CD, and bundle editions at: https://t.ly/7zoYL

Mickey E. Vil, the band’s longtime leader, commented on the song: “When I spoke with Andy LaRocque years ago about his possible participation in a THE MUGSHOTS song, I composed a song that was meant to sound as Metal as possible. Once I received the solo, I felt something was still missing: a bass worthy of the best old-school Metal and an evocative narrative. Why not, after 30 years, create a temporary reunion between two historic members of the glorious Greek Black Metal scene? Sakis Tolis and Jim Mutilator, founding members of the original ROTTING CHRIST lineup, have completed the work in the best possible way.
All this was completed by the monumental work of Cristiano Mondini (TRK Studio), who created on paper the dystopic world of “The Nameless”, somewhere between W. Burroughs, P. Dick and H. Thompson”.

The journey through darkness, irony and vision has just begun; prepare yourself for an extraordinary experience.

BEYOND CREATION Return with New Single And Video ‘Reverence’

Posted by tarjavirmakari on February 24, 2026

From the beginning, it was clear that Beyond Creation possessed a special aura. On their debut album, the Montréal four-piece concocted the next progressive evolution in technical death metal by splicing together classic brutality and prog’s insatiable curiosity with a refreshing knack for melody. Now, ahead of their fifteenth anniversary tour in celebration of The Aura, the Independent Music and Lit Music Award winners and Canadian Grammy nominees are releasing their first new song in eight years.

Today, Beyond Creation are thrilled to announce their new single, “Reverence”. While burdened by heavy expectations and the ashes of doubt, like a phoenix, the band rise in a brilliant display of strength and spirit.

“Our new single explores the fragile line between clarity and illusion, between introspection and insanity, where the search for meaning can either elevate us or consume us”, Beyond Creation’s vocalist, guitarist and lyricist Simon Girard says. “But the truth is simple and powerful: the moment you stop comparing and start focusing on who you truly are and what you genuinely want to express, something beautiful happens. You create from a place of honesty. You grow with purpose. What you achieve becomes something you can be proud of, because it is unique, real and entirely your own”.

Like all creative minds, “Reverence” begins uninhibited. Girard and fellow guitarist Kevin Chartré trade notes freely, responding to one another with the grace and understanding that comes from playing in a band together for more than 15 years. But this moment of elation proves painfully brief. “Thrown into a sea of endless thoughts”, Girard screams as chugging riffs bring the song crumbling under the weight of expectations. “A quiet war within my core”. Pushed to a breaking point, the band headbang as if trapped inside their own metal prison.

“With social media, we are constantly measuring ourselves against others”, Girard says. “The more we compare, the further we drift from our true selves and our authentic voice. We are lost amidst stress and insecurity. We feel that our ideas lack value, that our techniques are insufficient and our identity is somehow flawed”.

But even though “Reverence” is tormented by outside voices, Beyond Creation remain a guiding force for progressive technical death metal. In the wake of the song’s crushing breakdown, drummer Philippe Boucher leads the band toward the light at the end of its maze-like tunnels with the command of his cymbals and marching snare. “From the abyss, my body will rise / my soul fill fly / my spirit will shine”, Girard growls with renewed conviction. As bassist Hugo Doyon-Karout gently lifts the coda to a higher plane of existence with mind-bending runs, Beyond Creation’s aura burns brighter than ever.

“Once we stop with the comparisons, we free ourselves to grow”, Girard concludes. “We flourish in ways we never thought possible”.

The video for “Reverence” was directed and produced by Francois Bertrand and Simon Girard.

The French part of Canada is home to a vibrant culture of technical death metal fostered by outstanding acts such as Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Martyr and Neuraxis. This illustrious family tree has produced many sprouts in the past, yet none of them are as brilliant as Quebec’s amazing scion: Beyond Creation.

Beyond Creation saw the light of day in 2005 in Montreal, Canada but it wasn’t until 2010 that the band was ready to hit the stage with their original line-up consisting of Simon Girard, Kevin Chatré, Guyot Bégin-Benoît and Dominic ‘Forest’ Lapointe. A year later, the band self-released their debut full-length album The Aura (2011), which quickly became a highlight in the genre. Since then, Beyond Creation has been known as the progressive, innovative and exciting new metal sound of their homeland, Quebec.

In late 2012, the band had Philippe Boucher (Ex-First Fragment, Incadescence, Chthe’ilst, Décombres) take Guyot’s place on drums and things started moving at a faster pace in 2013, when they joined Season of Mist, re-releasing ‘The Aura’ and touring North America, Japan and Australia. In 2014, Beyond Creation released their second masterpiece Earthborn Evolution.

After the addition of Hugo Doyon-Karout (Brought By Pain, Equipoise, Conflux) on bass, the band focused on touring as much as possible on the Earthborn Evolution album cycle compiling three North American tours, three European tours, countless shows in Canada, appearances in Mexico, Colombia and Dubaï, sharing the stage with heavy weights like Arch Enemy, Hate Eternal, Misery Index, Dying Fetus, Psycroptic and Obscura. They also took part in multiple large-scale music festivals such as Hellfest (FR), 70 000 Tons of Metal (US), UK Tech-Fest, Montebello Rockfest (CA), Heavy MTL (CA) and Damnation Fest (UK).

In 2018, Beyond Creation recorded their IMA award-winning and JUNO-Nominated third album Algorythm at The Grid Studio in homeland Canada. With their latest album, Beyond Creation delivers a ferocious blend of technicality, melody, and brutality aided by fang-filled growls, which is interwoven with beautiful progressive interludes.

Since then, Beyond Creation have toured extensively. The band have played multiple times across North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand with the likes of Ne Obliviscaris, Decapitated, Cynic and Rivers of Nihil. They’ve also hit the festival circuit with appearances at Shred Fest, Loud As Hell Open Air and Trois-Rivières Metal Fest.

In 2026, Beyond Creation released “Reverence”, their first single in eight years, ahead of their special 15th anniversary tour for The Aura.
