Metalcore band AFTERGLOW make their debut at FiXT with new metal single “The Pledge” the next track to materialize on the upcoming FiXT: Radium compilation.

Taking listeners on a journey of healing and self-discovery “The Pledge” dives right into heavy guitars overlaid with healing synthesizers. The song’s thought provoking lyrics explore the themes of self-doubt, self-reflection, and the search for inner strength after facing traumatic experiences. “The Pledge” is an anthem for healing, speaking to the human experience, especially the struggles that come with healing and moving on.

Legendary guitarist Steve Hackett is currently finishing his North American dates and about to embark upon the UK leg of his tour performing his favourite Genesis album ‘Selling England by the Pound.’ He will also play songs from his solo album ‘Spectral Mornings’, which celebrates its 40th anniversary along with tracks from the current album, ‘At the Edge of Light’.

Today, he presents another clip from the forthcoming live release ‘Genesis Revisited Band & Orchestra: Live’, Steve comments: “The huge team with band and orchestra adds a rich beauty to the ambience of “Afterglow”, one of my favourite Genesis songs.”

‘Genesis Revisited Band & Orchestra: Live’ will be released on 25th October 2019 via InsideOutMusic, this release will be available as 2CD + Blu-Ray digipak and 2CD + DVD Multibox internationally, and 2CD + Blu-Ray + DVD in North America.

The album was recorded on 5th October 2018 at The Royal Festival Hall, London, during the 2018 Genesis Revisited Tour which fulfilled a long held ambition of Steve’s: to perform the music of Genesis with a live orchestra. The concert featured Steve’s regular touring band of Roger King (keyboards), Gary O’Toole (drums/percussion), Rob Townsend (saxes/flutes) with Nad Sylvan on vocals and Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings) on bass, together with special guests John Hackett and Amanda Lehmann, and augmented by the 41-piece Heart Of England Orchestra conducted by Bradley Thachuk.

Sweden’s melodeath masters IN MOURNING are soon to release a new album titled “Afterglow”. The relese date is set for May 20th via Agonia Records. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Invisible Oranges to reveal a new song, “The Call To Orion”. Listen to it exclusively via this link.

Earlier the band premiered the tracks “Below Rise To The Above” (lyric video, watch) and “Fire And Ocean” (stream).

“Afterglow”, the successor to “The Weight Of Oceans” (2012), will be the first album featuring new drummer Daniel Liljekvist (ex-Katatonia). The cover artwork was made by Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, Tiamat, King Diamond). Total playing time is around one hour.

IN MOURNING commented: “The new album is called “Afterglow” and its story takes off from where “The Weight Of Oceans” ends. It’s a bit more complex than our previous albums and it has got a bit of a different sound than the older ones, a bit more alive like a band and maybe not always as studio corrected as our earlier material. However, the foundation of the music is still what we’ve always done and the key elements are pretty much the same but with some new additions and a few new twists and turns of course”.

Hailed by many as the heir to Opeth‘s melodeath throne, IN MOURNING was formed in the Swedish woods in the year 2000. Since then the band has evolved over the years striving to refine its sound to what it is today. April 2012 marked the release of the bands third and latest album “The Weight Of Oceans”, a mythology inspired conceptual story that journeys to the sea. Musically, the group blends a broad spectrum of influences into a foundation of melodic death metal. Thrusting from doomy metal-riffs, blasting drumbeats and deep growling vocals to calm breezes of clean flowing melodies and harmonies.

“Afterglow” has been recorded between November 2015 and March 2016 in Nordin Music Studios (drums) and Libra Studios (guitar, bass and vocals). Mixing and mastering duties have been handeled by Jonas Martinsson in Necrosavant Studio.

Sweden’s lauded melodic death/doom metallers and Agonia Records recent signing, IN MOURNING, have revealed details surronding their anticipated new album. Entitled “Afterglow”, the opus will be released on May 20th, 2016, via Agonia Records. The cover artwork has been prepared by Kristian Wåhlin (Bathory, Tiamat, Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity).

BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION are back with their third album “Afterglow” which will be released tomorrow, Monday 29th October, via Mascot Records.

The band comprises of vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE), drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER), keyboard player Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER,YNGWIE MALMSTEEN,BILLY IDOL) and blues-rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa.

The album was written within 6 months and recorded in Westlake Village, outside Hollywood, USA during 5 productive days. As Glenn explains: “I wanted this album to have more acoustic moments than the previous two. I wanted to hear more of Derek and I wanted the more angelic voice of Glenn as well as the more aggressive one which there is on songs like “Crawl” and “Midnight Sun”. Above all I wanted more drama.”

As with the two previous albums, “Afterglow” was overseen by producer Kevin Shirley who has a catalogue of hit records by bands such as IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH, LED ZEPPELIN and EUROPE. It was his idea to put Hughes and Bonamassa together after seeing them jamming onstage together in 2009 and is the groups “unofficial” fifth member.

The album begins with Big Train which I wasn’t too sure of at first, but after several listens it really grew on me with its catchy melodies and the great vocal range demonstrated by Glenn, backed up by the brilliant drumming of Jason. The next track This Is Your Time grabs me immediately with the deep grooves of Joe’s guitar intro, which keep up the pace throughout the song, a perfect combination with Glenn’s vocals and the great music written by Jason. Midnight Sun comes crashing into my ears next, the pace really picks up and Glenn’s vocals are top notch, he’s not called “The Voice Of Rock” for nothing! For me, the song evokes sounds of Deep Purple and there is a brilliant guitar solo by Joe, he can make it sing! Confessor is another fast paced track with excellent turbo charged drumming. I love the melodic sounds of the chorus and the Hammond organ sounding solo by Derek.

Cry Freedom has shared vocals between Glenn and Joe. Glenn feels that he and Joe sing well together and I agree: Joe’s more laid back style perfectly compliments Glenn’s raw edged sound. The title track Afterglow is long at 6:06 (but not the longest track) and has a quiet intro, but full of atmosphere. The song then builds into that familiar Black Country Communion sound and Glenn’s powerful voice kicks in. Plenty more melodic guitars here to keep fans happy. Dandelion is another slow paced song to start with and picks up soon enough, as with all these songs the whole sound is polished but also with a rawness that keeps it rocking. The Circle slows the pace and has a dream like quality to it, a very relaxing vibe, more great vocals. This track really demonstrates the power and depth to Glenn’s voice and is one of his favourite tracks. Common Man has that classic ’70’s sound, ‘groovy’ is the main way to describe the guitar and bass line and again that Hammond organ sound adding more texture and feeling. This song really sounds to me like the band are having an awesome jamming session together in the studio and is one of my favourites. Again more classic sounds on The Giver then to the last song Crawl: I love the sound here, Glenn’s rasping edgy vocals and a huge sound. There is yet another great guitar solo and awesome powerhouse drumming, another favourite for me. I’m very happy the band saved this track from “BCC2” to use on Afterglow, a great aggressive song to finish on.

Black Country Communion the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze), drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, release their third album, ‘Afterglow’, via Mascot Records on Monday October 29th.

Like its two predecessors, ‘Afterglow’ was produced by Kevin Shirley, whose catalogue of hit records for Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith and the Black Crowes has made him the hottest producer that rock music has to offer. Shirley – who had the idea of putting Hughes and Bonamassa together in a band after seeing them jam onstage back in 2009 – is the group’s unofficial ‘fifth member’.

The additions of Jason Bonham, esteemed son of Led Zeppelin’s John, who took his father’s place when the legendary group made musical history by reuniting at London’s O2 Arena in December 2007, and the in-demand Derek Sherinian, makes BCC a force to be reckoned with.

Both BCC’s previous offerings (2010’s eponymous debut album and 2011’s “2”) have gone straight in at #1 on the official UK Rock Album Chart. Embraced by the UK’s music press, Black Country Communion were voted “Best New Band” by the listeners of Planet Rock Radio and won “Best Breakthrough” at the prestigious Classic Rock Magazine Roll Of Honour Awards in 2011.
