AMORAL: New Single “(Won’t Go) Home” Released

Finnish AMORAL has issued the following update:

Amoral, the Finnish ambassadors of classic rock of the 21st century, have released another new song from their upcoming 5th album “Beneath”. Where the first single “Same Difference” leaned towards hard rock, the new song, (Won’t Go) Home, with it’s riff-oriented structure and growling vocals, represents the heavier side of the new album.

“‘(Won’t Go) Home’ is a heavy and technical track through and through”, singer Ari Koivunen says. “Masi’s (Hukari, guitar) Indian-flavored solo is also one of my favourites. Vocal-wise this song was the hardest to pull off, as my voice was pretty blown after two weeks of singing in the studio. I ended up recording the vocals by myself during the small hours, and I’m very happy with the results.”

“(Won’t Go) Home” can be listened to at Imperiumi.net for the next week, between the 3rd and 10th of August. “Beneath” will be released in late October. “(Won’t Go) Home” can be streamed HERE.

Finnish rockers AMORAL has released their first single from the upcoming “Beneath” album today. The hard rock/metal hybrid “Same Difference” gives a little taste of things to come on the upcoming album, due for release in October.

“Same Difference” is available as a digital single from the iTunes Store http://itunes.apple.com/fi/album/same-difference-single/id437241301 and can be streamed below.

“‘Same Difference’ is one of my favorite tracks off the new album,” comments band’s guitarist Ben Varon. “Ari [Koivunen, vocals] sounds better than ever on it, and the back-to-back leads with our new guitarist Masi Hukari are something new for us. Hard rockin’, lots of riffs and big choruses, just like we like it!”.

Same Difference will be available as a digital single from the iTunes Store. The song will make it’s debut on Finnish radio station Radio Rock on May 16th at 18.00 CET. You can listen to the station online at www.radiorock.fi.

Amoral To Release 5th Album “Beneath” In Late 2011

Finnish AMORAL has issued the following update:

Finnish metal/hard rock outfit Amoral has completed work on it’s 5th studio album. “Beneath” was recorded at Sound Supreme studios in Hämeenlinna, Finland, and was produced by Janne Saksa and guitarist Ben Varon. The album will be released in late 2011, with the first single out by the beginning of summer.

“I’d describe the album as ‘three steps forward, one step back'”, says Varon. “There are several nods to our past in form of long songs, intricate riffs and growling vocals. But the main focus is still on the strong melodies, big choruses and catchy riffs, just as was on our last album ‘Show Your Colors'”.

“Beneath” marks the first time new guitarist Masi Hukari has recorded with the band. Hukari – who joined the group late in the songwriting process – immediately wrote two songs together with Varon, both which ended on the album. Another first is that, from now on, Amoral has two lead guitar players.

“Masi is such a talent, it would have been a crime to make him ‘just’ the rhythm guitarist. It’s been killer to be able to do lead trade-off for the first time in the band’s history, for example. Masi is responsible for many of the guitar highlights of the album”, Ben declares.

The band documented the recording of “Beneath” in their studio blog, which was updated daily during the session. You can read the blog here.

Amoral will end their months-long break from playing live by doing a one-off show at On The Rocks in Helsinki on June 3rd. The idea is to break in the new guitarist, as well as trying out several brand new songs onstage for the first time.

Ari Koivunen is a Finnish heavy metal singer who rose to fame as the winner of the Finnish singing competition Idols in 2007. He has since gone on to become one of Finland’s most popular and best-selling recording artists. Koivunen is a member and a vocalist of two Finnish bands: Ari Koivunen (2007-) and at  the end of the year 2008 Ari joined the Finnish band AMORAL, who released their fourth album (first one with Ari) “Show Your Colors” in 2009.

Amoral: New Guitarist Announced, Studio Blog Launched

Amoral has issued the following update:

“We are happy to announce that Amoral has a new guitar player! As announced when Valtteri came in as a session guy to help us out with the gigs, he could not commit to being a full-time member, due to his hectic shedule as a hot-shot photographer. So we’ve been keeping our eyes open all this time to see if we could find someone worthy to join the band. And now we have! Enter Masi Hukari, six-string slinger from many a project and band over the years.  Ben and Ari had already met Masi a few times before, so we knew him to be a cool dude, and the word on the street was that the boy could play! After a couple of long chats to see that we were on the same page, we picked up our guitars and two new songs came together in no time. So that was that! We all agreed that this could definitely be our guy, and so it is that we’ll be entering the studio as a five-piece to record album number five.

The Amoral Street Team conducted an interview with Masi to give you all a better idea of who this new guys is and what he is made of. Ben also answered some questions the teamers had regarding the upcoming album. Check out the interview here.

In other news: Recording of the 5th Amoral album starts NOW! The next month will be spent at Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna, under strict supervision of our producer Janne Saksa.
