Melodic death metallers BLOODSHOT DAWN release their third full length album, entitled Renanimation via Hostile Media on 12th January 2018; an album that also features prominent guests including Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore), Paul Wardingham, Ken Sorceron (Abigail Williams, The Faceless), Mendel Bij De Leij (Aborted).
Alongside the release of the first single ‘Survival Evolved’, today the band have teamed up with Ibanez Guitars to offer fans a chance to win a brand new guitar via their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bloodshotdawn). Watch the new video here:
Frontman Josh McMorran comments, “We are really excited to release our first song from our new album. ‘Survival Evolved’ is a story about nature taking back the earth! After humanity is gone the planet fights for survival against a higher being from another dimension. The death of this titanic being restarts the cycle of the infinite and the reanimation of human DNA. Turn It up and enjoy this war between worlds!”
The album was mixed and mastered by Per Nilsson from Scar Symmetry while artwork (as seen below) was completed by Chris Kewli.
As well as the news of an imminent new release the band will be on tour throughout UK/Ireland tour, their first in almost 2 years! “We are excited to be hitting the tour circuit again after a short hiatus. We are hungry for live devastation and looking forward to seeing fans old and new!”

In August of this year, from the Main Stage at Bloodstock Festival, UK melodic extreme metallers BLOODSHOT DAWN announced mid set that their new album was to be entitled “Demons” and would be released on 26th October. The band then went on to debut a brand new song called ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. That very song has now been unleashed to all as it features in the brand new Bloodshot Dawn music video, check it out below:
The video was directed by Lewis Carter and Phil Berridge (Vision Video) and was in an old photo studio in Peterborough.
Frontman Josh McMorran comments on the video: ‘It’s a play through using natural visual effects to give an arty and moody vibe. We used colours of the new album artwork. This is the opening song of the album and encompasses all that is Bloodshot Dawn into one song! It’s also kind of catchy…”
“Demons” is the second Bloodshot Dawn album and was funded by fans in a Kickstarter campaign, which was achieved in just four days, testament to the band’s loyal following.
“Demons” is also the first recording with their new drummer Janne Jaloma (also of Gothenburg death metal outfit Deals Death). The album features 8 tracks of awe inspiring melodic extreme metal spanning 43 minutes and includes guest musicians such as Sven De Caluwé (Aborted, System Divide), Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry), Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun), Andy James (ex-Sacred Mother Tongue) and Chris Amott (Armageddon, ex-Arch Enemy).
Speaking of ‘Demons’ in relation to their self-titled debut, which was released in 2012, Josh comments: “From a musical perspective it has been a completely natural progression. We have not become more melodic or more brutal but rather we’ve enhanced all aspects of the sound we had built up on the first album! This album is a huge step up in technical ability and song writing prowess without changing the music enough to alienate our current fans!” “The title ‘Demons’, which is also the name of one of the tracks, perfectly represents the lyrical content within the album. It also ties in with the amazing new artwork. The song’s lyrical content is about demons on both a personal and a wider social scale, explaining our views on modern society and the struggles within the mind. The album is all about beating your demons and making something of the time you have on the earth whilst battling the ever lasting struggles and trials that come with being human.”
The artwork, which can be seen above, was masterminded by Swedish artist Par Olofoson who is famed for his work with bands such as Immolation, Onslaught, Exodus, Pathology, The Faceless and more as well as also having also worked on the Bloodshot Dawn self-titled debut album.

UK melodic extreme metallersBLOODSHOT DAWN have announced some of the guests that are set to appear on their second album which is set to be recorded this summer. Sven De Caluwé from Belgian death metal band ABORTED will be weighing in with vocals, Swedish guitar maestro PerNilsson of SCAR SYMMETRY and WINTERSUN’s Teemu Mäntysaari will also be adding pieces to the forthcoming album.
The band announced recently that album number two would be a crowd-funded project that will launch on 16th April. Bloodshot Dawn have since then started releasing a series of videos on the build up to the launch offering sneak previews of the new album content including artwork, music, etc.

The organisers of UK festival Bloodstock have made band further announcements for this year:
With BLOODSTOCK just twenty weeks away, there’s still plenty to announce as yet more bands rack up for this year’s event at Catton Park! There’s no such thing as too much metal, with even more riffs coming your way on both the Ronnie James Dio main stage and the big top Sophie Lancaster stage.
Norse black metal standard-bearers, DIMMU BORGIR are set to be Friday’s main stage special guest and will be playing their only UK show in 2014 at BLOODSTOCK. The band are hard at work on new material planned for release later this year. Maybe they’ll even showcase something new at Catton Park! Comments Shagrath: “We are excited for our return to Bloodstock 2014, the one and only UK festival we do this year. It will be a special event for sure, without revealing too much, but a 20th anniversary show will not go unnoticed. BLOODSTOCK are also pleased to reveal an extra special ‘late night’ performance from Texas groove metal kings, HELLYEAH. The band will be taking the roof off the Sophie big top stage late on Saturday, performing after the stage headliners, SISTER SIN. The band’s legendary drummer, Vinnie Paul comments; “BLOODSTOCK is one of the best festivals to play anywhere in the world!! HELLYEAH is very excited to be a part of it again! Get your game face on and let’s rip this one up! Cheers!! I’m Vinnie Paul and I approve this message!!”
Grabbing an opening slot on Friday’s main stage are homegrown extreme metal outfit, BLOODSHOT DAWN. Former winners of BLOODSTOCK’s ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ programme in 2009, the four piece have been playing dates with Wintersun, had a slot at UK Techfest, and are currently writing their second album. Fellow Brits DE PROFUNDIS bring their twist on progressive death metal to Friday’s Sophie Stage. The band exclaim, “Back in 2008, BLOODSTOCK was a springboard for DE PROFUNDIS career. Now six years later with our forthcoming EP and album we are looking to cement our name in the UK metal scene with an explosive performance!” The band enter their studio in London shortly to record the follow-up to ‘The Emptiness Within’. Earache Records have announced that UK metallers SAVAGE MESSIAH have confirmed a UK tour with Finland’s WINTERSUN and fellow UK band BLOODSHOT DAWN.
SAVAGE MESSIAH will be taking a break from recording their as-yet untitled new album to take part in the five-date trek, which kicks off on July 16th at the Garage in London. The band will then be heading out around the UK again in October on a mini headlining tour.
