Check out the play list at this location. Blackdiamond also included three short interviews, with Paul Allender (CRADLE OF FILTH),Niklas Stålvind (WOLF) and Brian Thomas (HALLOWEEN).
The show will be repeated on Halloween, tomorrow; Thursday 31st October from 4pm GMT. Some excerpts from the interviews (which were mainly about Halloween) can be read below, along with a brief band update. Listen in full on the audio players:
Paul Allender on Halloween:
“I just like scaring people!”
After telling his story about scaring the trick or treaters last year, Paul said:
“I like to hide underneath cars that are parked, the slide out and chase people up the path!”
Discussing what is happening with CRADLE OF FILTH, Paul explained:
“We’re supporting BEHEMOTH in February in Europe. Everything’s in the air – there’s talk of a 2014 comeback type thing, but it’s just talk at the moment, nothing’s been confirmed. I’m writing music in the studio and teaching and stuff like that.”
Niklas Stålvind on Halloween:
“It took me 20 years to discover it was spelt with an ‘a,’ I thought it was an ‘e’ like in Helloween! I would dress as a toilet paper mummy, that’s my plan for the next masquerade.”
Niklas updated me with latest WOLF news:
“Exciting times! On Monday we enter the studio and start recording the new album. I have an extremely good feeling about this and we have one of our favourite producers Jens Bogren and we’re very happy about it. Hopefully it will be released in March or spring time.”
Brian Thomas on Halloween:
“I’ve always liked Halloween, as a child I used to like trick or treating and it continued into my adulthood. I love the imagery, I’ve always been a big fan of horror movies and plays on Broadway with a scary theme like Phantom Of The Opera.”
Brian explained about HALLOWEEN‘s upcoming show:
“We’re having a 30th anniversary show; we finally get to play in a theatre again. The stage show is a cemetery set up; a large crypt, a casket, tombstones and lots of smoke and lights. We’ve invited everyone who’s been in the band over the years.”
Blackdiamond has just posted on her official weblog that she is going to present a special Halloween Metal Party show on Bloodstockradio.com on October 29th at 10 AM (GMT). She also announced that metallers Paul Allender (CRADLE OF FILTH), Niklas Stålvind (WOLF) and Brian Thomas (HALLOWEEN) are to appear on this show too.
“Of course all the music will purely be based around Halloween” Blackdiamond said.
On Tuesday 14th May from 10am GMT, Blackdiamond’s Metal Mayhem on http://www.bloodstockradio.com will be presenting a tribute to the legendary Ronnie JamesDio: a Holy Diver special show.
The whole two hour show from 10am – 12pm will be dedicated to Ronnie: the Holy Diver album will be played in full, as well as interviews with drummer Simon Wright, who worked with Ronnie and guitarist Wolf Hoffmann from the legendary ACCEPT. They will be sharing their thoughts about Ronnie and his work.
It will bethree years on 16th May since Ronnie tragically lost his life after battling stomach cancer. We lost an amazing person and arguably the best metal voice ever.
Tune in for this special celebration of the life of Ronnie James Dio.
Metal Shock Finland‘s Senior Manager Blackdiamond will be presenting a Scandinavian “Ragna Rock” Special show on her Blackdiamond’s Metal Mayhem, this Tuesday 30th April, from 10am GMT on http://www.bloodstockradio.com.
The show will feature two hours of some of the finest Nordic metal bands around, though as Blackdiamond comments: “Two hours isn’t long enough as there is so much quality Scandinavian metal out there, but I’ll play as many bands as I can!”
Blackdiamond also has a new official Weblog, which will be used for all her activities with Blackdiamond’s Metal Mayhem, Bloodstock Radio and Metal Shock Finland. Check it out at this location.
Metal Shock Finland‘s Blackdiamond recently conducted an interview on her Blackdiamond’s Metal Mayhem show on Bloodstock Radio, with Rod Boston, bass player for English metallers BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE.
The four piece thrash metal band formed in 2011 and released their debut epic: “Scatter The Ground” to rave reviews last year. BULL-RIFF STAMPEDE are one of the hardest working UK bands, last year they played shows at Download and Bloodstock festivals.
Blackdiamond caught up with Rod live on her show following the band’s storming performance at Metal Hammer sponsored festival Hammerfest the previous weekend.
Some excerpts from the interview can be read below, listen to the full interview on the Soundcloud link:
When asked about upcoming plans for the band, Rod stated the following:
“We’ll be working on pre-demos for the next album before touring with Beholder in May. Beyond that we’ve got a fair few festival appearances: SOS, Metal Gods, Les-Fest and Wacken Open Air in August. We’re part of a metal battle for unsigned artists. It’s a fantastic opportunity – the centre of the heavy metal universe. It’s not for the faint hearted!”
Rod gave this information about the new album:
“We’re working on the new album which will be called Enraging The Beast. We’re looking at releasing it towards the end of the year, late autumn, we’re busy writing at the moment. It’s going to be Scatter The Ground times ten!”
