Ljubljana’s underground legends NOCTIFERIA have premiered their new single and video “Now You Will Pay” feat. metal legend David Vincent. The song is taken from the upcoming album Reforma (tribute to Laibach), set to be released on May 28th!

“Since we are huge fans of early Morbid Angel (their collaboration with Laibach in the past is well-known) it was always our dream to be part of this story so we invited none other than Mr. David Vincent himself to record all the vocals for the song “Now You Will Pay” and make our childhood dream come true. He put a lot of effort into it and surprised us all with his approach. The result is simply mind-blowing!”

‘Reforma’ is new studio album by NOCTIFERIA, a tribute to the legendary and world-renowned avant-garde band Laibach featuring three big and legendary names of metal scene; David Vincent – ex Morbid Angel, Vltimas, Attila Csihar – Mayhem and Jørgen Munkeby – Shining. It was mixed and mastered by the award-winning producer Henrik Udd (Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, At The Gates, etc.). The artwork concept and design is the work of Jean-Emmanuel “Valnoir” Simoulin from French design studio Metastazis, known for their work with Ghost, Behemoth, At the Gates, Amorphis, etc. ‘Release date is set on May 28. Ljubljana’s underground legends NOCTIFERIA have signed with Blood Blast Distribution for the digital release of their ‘Reforma‘ album, set to be unleashed on May 28th. Furthermore the band has revealed the tracklisting, coverart and release date. The first single + video “Now You Will Pay” feat. David Vincent is coming on March 5th. In addition, NOCTIFERIA have announced their livestream show, on March 18th.

Slovenia’s legendary NOCTIFERIA are busy in the studio recording their new album “Reforma – Tribute to LAIBACH”! Today the band unveils the second guest on the album, being (Norway’s) SHINING sax player Jørgen Munkeby, read below:

VLTIMAS Sign To Season of Mist, To Release Debut Album In Early 2019

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of VLTIMAS. The three-piece  extreme metal formation, consisting of David Vincent (ex-MORBID ANGEL), Rune ‘Blasphemer’ Eriksen (ex-MAYHEM, AURA NOIR) and Flo Monier (CRYPTOPSY), have completed the work on their debut album. This death metal masterpiece is slated for release early 2019 via Season of Mist.

Rune Blasphemer Eriksen comments: “Feels like aeons ago since I last ventured into these musical shores, but alas, here we are. Its been an intense year and a half with lots of planning, hard work, personal sacrifice and yeah, traveling. I believe I speak for all 3 of us on this matter. Nevertheless, the beast has been summoned and recorded and I am overly confident about the outcome. Having had the opportunity to work with some of the finest of craftsmen in the genre, the level of experience speaks volumes. The mutual understanding, vision and drive, everything as if for a greater purpose. That’s how the end result sounds like to me. A special thank you goes out to longtime partner in crime Michael Berberian and Season Of Mist for the immense belief in this entity, as well as my companion Jaime Gomez Arellano over at Orgone Studio (UK) for a job superbly done! After some years of absence from the black metal scene, guitarist Rune Eriksen (AURA NOIR, EARTH ELECTRIC, ex-MAYHEM), decides to venture back into the aural landscapes he’s widely known for. Having played with one of Norway’s leading extreme metal bands for years, Eriksen seeks to coalesce classic, cold Scandinavian riffing with an air of darkness and the signature force of death metal.

Combining strengths, Eriksen brings in veterans of the extreme, David Vincent of legendary death metal formation MORBID ANGEL, as well as acclaimed drummer Flo Mounier from CRYPTOPSY. The three-piece have completed the work on their debut album, which is slated for release early 2019 via Season of Mist. The new death metal powerhouse will be known under the moniker of VLTIMAS.

The foundation for VLTIMAS was laid when Rune, after collecting a handful of riffs, presented drummer Flo Mounier with the idea of forming a band together. For the two musicians, having composed and recorded numerous songs together in the past, the musical chemistry was already tried and tested. However, one thing was still missing. This extraordinary musical project needed an extraordinary voice and Eriksen got in touch with David Vincent, with whom he had been in contact for years, to finalize the line-up.

Vincent had just exited Morbid Angel and was ready for a new chapter in his long spanning career. Everything fell into place, and VLTIMAS came into being.
 
During the Noize Factory sessions (Georgetown, USA), the musicians started writing a substantial amount of music. The sessions proved to be a fruitful endeavor and the first ideas and song skeletons were later fleshed out by Rune at his home studio in Portugal, then finalized when Flo Mounier and Eriksen returned to Texas, in order to put the final touches to the material at David’s home studio. In a more controlled surrounding the songs started to unveil themselves and the studio was booked.

The band entered Orgone Studios in Woburn, England in May 2018 with producer Jaime Gomez Arellano. Here, the three-piece recorded nine crushing tracks that will appear on the full-length debut album.

The new record offers a vast array of influences, but most notably the distinguished symbioses of these three respected and talented musicians. A dark and sinister ambiance meets a majestic and a commanding death metal energy.

MORBID ANGEL’s DAVID VINCENT Says Former Drummer PETE SANDOVAL Has ‘Found Jesus’

According to Blabbermouth, During a brand new interview with Invisible Oranges, MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist David Vincent was asked whether it was weird to perform the band’s 1993 album, “Covenant”, in its entirety on the group’s current North American tour without MORBID ANGEL‘s longtime drummer Pete Sandoval.

“Nope. Not at all,” Vincent replied. “Tim‘s [Yeung, MORBID ANGEL’s current drummer] an excellent drummer. He handles the material very well. He was a big fan of the record when it came out, too. He’s a couple years my junior, but it’s cool. He feels the songs really well, and it’s fun.

Regarding whether Sandoval is still a member of MORBID ANGEL, Vincent said: “Pete‘s no longer in MORBID ANGEL.” He added: “His whole way of life has changed. He’s in a different spot, and the spot that he’s in right now, Pete Sandoval and MORBID ANGEL are not compatible.”

Pressed to elaborate on this supposed “incompatibility” between Sandoval and MORBID ANGEL, Vincent offered: “Well, [Pete] has found Jesus. You can see where the incompatibility comes from.”

During a chat with Brazil’s Som Extremo in October 2011, Sandoval was asked for his opinion about MORBID ANGEL‘s “controversial” new CD, “Illud Divinum Insanus”, which incorporates industrial and electronic elements into the band’s traditional death metal sound. “No comment! I don’t play on that album.” He was then questioned about what he thought he would have done different on “Illud Divinum Insanus” had he played on the record. “More exreme deathgrind metal and less DJ, boring awful typical I care less industrial experimental same as everybody boring bull!” he said. “This is not what MORBID has been all about! …Hmmmmmm, and I really care less…!”

Sandoval recently celebrated the 24th anniversary of TERRORIZER‘s classic album “World Downfall” by performing the LP in its entirety at several shows. He was joined at the gigs by Lee Harrison (MONSTROSITY) and Sam Molina.

MORBID ANGEL’s DAVID VINCENT Is ‘Excited’ About NERO 54/68

Bassist/vocalist David Vincent (MORBID ANGEL) has commented on his involvement with NERO 54/68, the new project featuring Vincent, guitarist Niclas Engelin (IN FLAMES, ENGEL) and drummer Magnus “Adde” Andreasson (HARDCORE SUPERSTAR).

“I’m excited about this band,” says Vincent. “We have been working together on this for awhile now as our individual schedules have permitted and we are soon ready to enter the recording phase.”

MORBID ANGEL will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its best-selling album, “Covenant”, by embarking on the “Covenant: 1993-2013” tour in November/December.

Engelin is sitting out a few of IN FLAMES‘ shows this summer. His temporary replacement for those gigs is Patrik Jensen from THE HAUNTED.

HARDCORE SUPERSTAR‘s new album, “C’mon Take On Me”, was released in Europe on March 1 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2010’s “Split Your Lip” was produced by the bandmembers themselves and mixed by Randy Staub (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, THE CULT).
